Highly recommended.. clean rooms, good location, central to many of the tourist spots. They offer secured valet parking service for a fee which is great for folks who cant drive narrow lanes in florence.

We booked the Casa Il Patio Apartment for our stay in Florence. If you plan on staying at the hotel itself I am sure it would be great, as it was for our family who stayed there in 2025 and recommended Residence Hilda to us. However, we were extremely disappointed in the Casa Il Patio Apartment before even entering the building. We chose the apartment for our family of 4 adults to be more comfortable. Upon arrival, we could not be dropped off on the street where the apartment was located as the entire street was under construction. This was a problem for one of our group who has mobility issues, especially trying to carry our luggage down the tiny sidewalk. We had been in contact with the hotel prior to arrival, but they did not mention anything to us about the construction or provide the best address to be dropped off at. We also had difficulty entering the building, and the apartment itself, as communication through WhatsApp was not consistent or clear. Once inside, we were immediately shocked at the appearance and smell of the apartment. The online pictures did not match what we walked into as we saw peeling paint, plug-in air fresheners, and dingy fabrics/linens. The outdoor patio was not at all as pictured online. The ONLY positive was the strong air conditioner. We slept there for one night, but decided that we could not stay for our whole booking. We contacted the hotel to see if they had any rooms available for us to switch, but they informed us that the apartment was not owned by Residence Hilda, though that is not stated on the website. Because of that, we would have had to pay for both our original booking at the apartment, and new rooms at the hotel. We ended up finding a last minute airbnb that was 50% off instead of switching to the hotel and paying much more. Long story short, do not stay at the Casa Il Patio, and be careful about booking any of the apartments as they might not be what you see on the Residence Hilda website.

We stayed at the apartment Guelfa 56 which can be booked on their site. The apartment was great. The customer service was not great so don’t expect to feel welcome when staying at their apartments.
