Loved the location! Our room was clean and very spacious. The hotel breakfast was fantastic and would recommend that anyone staying adds it to their booking. Would stay here again!

The old central air conditioning system is not able to sustain the Florence summer heat. The rooms don't get cold enough. Mosquitoes lurk behind the curtains. They do not provide coffee or tea making facilities. I had to ask them for it and they take their time to bring it over. The only thing good about this hotel is location. Avoid this hotel in summer. Other customers have reported the same issues.
The hotel is vintage & cozy and it is located at 5 minutes by the train station and 10 minutes at the historic center. The staff is nice. The only issue is the room's automatic climate control system. You can set the temperature up to 22.5°C, but after a while, it resets to 19°C. Even if you turn the system off, it eventually starts up again automatically, also set to 19°C.
The only real advantage of this hotel is its central location. The breakfast was also quite good. Unfortunately, everything else was very disappointing. In my opinion, this hotel does not meet four-star standards and barely qualifies as a three-star hotel. Our room was located on some kind of mezzanine or half-floor. We had to take the lift to the second floor, walk through corridors, go up and down several sets of stairs, and finally descend again to find the room hidden away in a difficult-to-reach area. With large suitcases, this was extremely inconvenient. Even finding the way from the room back outside was a challenge. The entire hotel feels very old, damp and poorly maintained. The room itself was relatively spacious, but the bathroom had a very unpleasant smell. Everything looked worn out, damaged and rusty. We stayed during a period of extremely hot weather in Florence. The room had an air-conditioning unit, but it was practically useless. You could only feel any cooling effect when standing a few centimetres away from it. Sleeping at night was almost impossible because of the heat. The staff were not particularly helpful either. I asked for an invoice to be issued to my company and was told to send the company details by email. I sent them immediately. The next day, when I asked for the invoice, I was told that they had received my email too late and that nothing could be changed. Only after I insisted did they correct the invoice and provide it. The whole experience was unnecessarily unpleasant and showed a lack of customer service. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. The price is quite high, while the condition of the rooms, the level of comfort and the quality of service do not justify it at all.
Service: We would like to highlight the professionalism from Simone (reception) and the demeanor and genuine kindness from Massimo. Made us feel welcome. The bellman who showed us to the room asked our room number 3 times and did not know where our room is (we found it instead). Room: fresh and renovated. The only point is that our room was just next to the lift, so we were woken up at 9am by the housekeeping ladies cleaning. Location: Very well located but suspicious people walking around the street (I guess it is common thing near the main station).
