Hotel Ariele Florence

Beautiful, boutique hotel. Staff fantastic, rooms were amazing and breakfast just perfect! A 20 minute walk to Santa Maria Novella walk by the river, very pretty. Will definitely return and this is from a travel agents opinion!

Perfect location - about 10/15 mins walk from the centre and all the sights / places to eat. Hotel room was clean and well presented. Nice to have room service every day. Room could have benefitted from a chest of drawers as well as the wardrobe. Breakfast was kept well stocked and there was a good choice. Friendly reception staff who were always helpful.

Very disappointed by the lack of compassion shown in exceptional circumstances. I was due to stay at Hotel Ariele from 10–13 August, but two days before my stay I tragically and unexpectedly lost my brother. I contacted the hotel immediately to explain that, due to his sudden death, I was obviously no longer able to travel to Florence and asked whether they could waive the cancellation fee. My request was declined. I subsequently contacted the hotel again and explained that I now had the official death certificate and was willing to provide this as evidence, and asked them to reconsider a refund given the circumstances. Despite this, I have not been refunded. I fully understand that hotels have cancellation policies, but there is a significant difference between choosing to cancel a holiday and being unable to travel because an immediate family member has suddenly died. I gave the hotel notice before my stay and was able to provide formal evidence of what had happened. At an already incredibly difficult time, I found the complete lack of flexibility and compassion extremely upsetting and disappointing. I would have expected a four-star hotel to exercise some discretion in such exceptional circumstances. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a very negative impression of Hotel Ariele and I would not choose to book with them again.

The hotel is located great (10-15 min from the city center by foot, 3 min away from the tram). The rooms are clean and they change towels everyday. The breakfast has everything you need and the little garten on the terasse is really nice. The personal is friendly and helpful. We will definetly come back here when we are in Florence.
