Grand Hotel Adriatico

The hotel was very nice, modern and clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. Just note, if you are a solo traveler like me, they will more than likely give you a single room which is smaller than usual with a single bed. I opted to upgrade to a double room which had a much bigger bed and overall bigger room. Again, the staff was very accommodating and was more than happy to help. If and when I return to Florence, I will book the Grand Hotel Adriatico again.

I am a 5 to 20 minute walk from just about every musem and historical site I wanted to visit, any food place I could imagine, Gelato, shopping, and more. The staff has been so attentive and accommodating. Everyone here has been so nice and friendly. In the mornings at breakfast, I ask about the gluten free breakfast and they give me a lovely basket of breads and cereal. Yhe bar tender warms my leftovers when i need it. And the pillow servic is so fun. The rooms are clean, comfortably sized, and the ac is so so nice in this misreble heat wave. I'm so glad we booked our stay here.

The rooms were not very clean. The bed sheets had yellowish stains at the edges, and the furniture was very old and worn out. Although these issues were disappointing, they were still somewhat acceptable compared to what we experienced at breakfast. The quality of the breakfast was poor and well below average. The selection was limited, and the food lacked freshness and flavor, making the overall breakfast experience quite disappointing. To make matters worse, a staff member acted more like a teacher than a hostess, telling guests where they should sit. If you tried to reserve a table for family members who were running a little late, you were asked to give up the table for other guests. It seemed that the breakfast area did not have enough tables to accommodate all hotel guests, which is a management issue and should not become the customers’ problem. If the dining area cannot comfortably accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel, this should be taken into consideration when accepting bookings. As for the location, while it is relatively close to the city’s main attractions, the surrounding area did not feel particularly pleasant and felt somewhat unsafe when walking around at night. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations. The condition of the rooms, the poor breakfast quality, the uncomfortable breakfast experience, and the less-than-ideal location were simply not what one would expect from a four-star hotel.

Front desk and all staff encountered were professional and helpful. The room was comfortable and well equipped. We had an issue with the tub/shower enclosure but not enough to hinder its usage. The hotel location was great and easy to get around from. Enjoyed our stay. Also, close to a laundromat (2 doors away) which was helpful.
