This was our first accommodation in Italy and it was the cherry on top of our Florence experience. The location was great for us because it is away from the city center but still walkable if you don’t mind a couple of hills. The property was beautiful with the garden and the views. We stayed in the annex and there was plenty of space and privacy. The staff were polite and attentive. The breakfast was top tier! The lunch and dinner at the restaurant were delightful. Great atmosphere in every part of the property. The olive oil was delicious.
Beautiful views in a historical house in the hills. Nicoletta and Walter were very helpful arranging taxi and concierge services. There is no central air. We arrived during a heat wave and we were warm every night. Full breakfast complimentary.
Holding a genuine piece of Florentine history, the Art Hotel Villa Agape is a serene escape just moments from the heart of Florence. From the moment you arrive, the staff set the tone, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The air‑conditioned rooms are perfectly calibrated. a rare luxury. With low noise levels and tall ceilings that add a touch of grandeur. The bed leans a little firm, but the Victorian fittings and elegant atmosphere more than make up for it. The bathroom is compact, but thoughtfully designed: a generously sized sink, plush towels, and high‑quality toiletries that reminded me of the ones at The Cinnamon Grand in Sri Lanka, a delightful surprise. Now, the Aperol Spritz deserves its own paragraph. They make a proper one, bold, flavoursome, and absolutely not the watered‑down version you sometimes get elsewhere. July evenings are made for alfresco dining, and the hotel delivers beautifully. Apart from the occasional superbike zipping through those snake‑like Tuscan roads, the ambiance is calm, relaxed, and effortlessly enjoyable. Pair that with an exquisite wine menu, oversized (and reasonably priced) dishes, and a beautifully landscaped garden, and you’ve got a truly one‑of‑a‑kind experience. When I say oversized, I mean it, the starters could easily pass as mains. So much for watching my waistline. And if you’re curious about the history, just look up Galileo and the time he spent here whilst supposedly being under house arrest. If only they knew what he was doing! A charming hotel with character, comfort, and a story, absolutely worth a stay and away from the hustle of central Florence.
Highly recommend! The villa and gardens are amazing and have wonderful views. It’s such a unique experience and the best of both worlds - just a few minute ride from the main city and also feels like a world away among the olive trees and beautiful hills. The breakfast is delicious - including many flavors of pastries and fresh cut fruit. Love the shuttle option with pick up and drop off to two convenient locations. The staff are all super friendly and helpful!
