Aqa Palace

This is NOT a hotel. I think they recently handed over. No reception. Only key box to collect keys. If you missed their email about check-in, lucky they responded your message after 2 hours . (Indeed, no property message was logged in Agoda app provided this is an important information) I had to stand outside the entrance under the sun 35 degrees and get headache and fainted. Neither the PH staff nor Agoda apologised for their unclear description. I put no star to their service. No one from the staff in air-con will check their company phone and help. However, there is a housekeeping lady Mahlet who is very kind and helpful. Apart from the unexpected B&B , the room is spacious and nicely decorated. It’s centrally located. Mini bar is free with water, coke , one bar of chocolate and one bag of chips . I booked the room with breakfast as I thought it’s a hotel. However, it’s served by a restaurant with 6min walk and 2 pastries and a drink offered instead of buffet breakfast in hotel. Again, it’s all about expectations and correctly described in the booking previously. Honestly, once you managed to get thru , everything is fine.

THIS IS AN AIRBNB. DO NOT book if you want a hotel experience. False and misleading marketing as a full fledged hotel. It is not. There is no reception or staff on site. “Room service” and check In/out is done entirely via WhatsApp. The only time you’ll see a staff is during daily housekeeping. Otherwise, it’s a pain getting a quick response or assistance. In our case, the housekeeper unfortunately broke some glass in our room during cleaning. She came to clean with a broom and dustpan. Not sure why there is no vacuum cleaner used. Despite her checking and cleaning twice, we came back later in the afternoon to still find glass bits under the table and along the kitchen counter. I had to WhatsApp the “room service” and there’s NO response. And this was only at 4pm. Utterly terrible and speechless. I DO NOT recommend this accommodation, even though the location is really good.

Fantastic place! We stayed in this wonderful palace, centrally located, convenient for visiting all of Florence's attractions. Clean, welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive to every request. I recommend staying at AQA to everyone.
