Omar is a wonderful guide. He is very passionate about his hometown. He showed us sights in Fez which even locals have not experienced. His knowledge and history is wide and he is well spoken and very polite. From the palace to the oldest bakery to the oldest university and the pottery artisans and textile weaving and tannery to the souks in Medina and through the narrowest alley in the old Medina, the whole day was full of adventure and enjoyment. I highly recommend Omar for all your tours. His family home is also a beautiful riad called Riad moulaydriss et giacomo and is among the best restaurant in Fez. It’s run by his sister Batoul who was so kind to share some history of their beautiful family home.

Fun and extremely informative Two days with Omar . We went around the medina and new fez and had such a great time we are going Tommorow outside the city. He has a great historical perspective about the evolution of the medina and the main drivers for its growth We found him to be really fun and we’ll known in the medina. Good experience, with our guide, shared interesting stories and facts with us during the tour. Brought us to the main sights within the Medina, lasted somewhere 3 hrs. Just felt that the shops where he brought us to where shop owners kept trying to sell stuff (including at the Tanneries) should be left out.

Omar was our guide for 2 days in Fez. He is fabulous! We spent the first day exploring places outside of the Medina and the second day inside the Medina. We greatly appreciated his warmth and expertise. He was able to talk about history, culture, the Medina's past and its present. We were with our two young children who were complaining about the heat in July. Omar was so patient! He somehow found ways for the adults and children to enjoy the experience.
We had a great visit to Fez. It was a Friday after Aid (so not much activity in the city) but Omar was able to make us discover and enjoy the city. We visited the artisans, the tannery, the mosques etc. He is very kind, friendly and attentive to his customers. He even helps to haggle over the products. He will be your best asset, my mother and I highly recommend him!

Your was good/ok. While we were thankful to have a local guide walking through the Medina as doing it alone seems unimaginable, we were disappointed that we didn’t really get to see any of the main tourist sites. We didn’t see the royal palace, the tanneries we were taken to was not the famous one but another one which was associated with a shop and we didn’t see the royal palace, etc. when we were told the tour was over we were surprised. Our tour consisted of walking around and being thrown into stores Where they tried to sell us things. Felt like a commercial rip off and not a real historical or cultural tour. We’ll hVe to go back and see Fez again a different way
We enjoyed our private half day tour with Mr. Squali. He was literally like the Mayor of the town, as it seemed like everyone knew him. The half day tour was enough time for us to get a better understanding of the history of the Medina, however, if we had more time in Fes, we would definitely have booked a full day tour, since our time with Mr. Squali was so enjoyable. Mr. Squali’s extensive knowledge of Morocco’s history helped us understand how the city has evolved over time. Fez is a beautiful city. Omar is an amazing guide - very warm and genuine, he makes its feel like you are taking a walk with a good friend. We did a half day walking tour of the Fes medina and I saw a whole life behind the doors and in the secret lanes, that I had no idea even existed. He showed me so many beautiful details in all the neighbourhoods, and took me to the best local artisans, but with absolutely zero pressure or sales. I would 100% recommend taking this walking tour- you will see a whole new side of medina life and its unforgettable.

My friend and I were lucky enough to have Omar as our guide in Fez, and it was a life changing experience! He is a local of Fez and was able to really navigate the city, and give us a deep understanding of the history. He took us through all of the various portals of Fez, which is like a never ending maze. We were able to see all the different markets with the talented artisans working away. We bought some gorgeous rugs and clothing along the way. My favorite area was the textile area, where silk was being hand dyed. He customized the tour to our interests (my friend is studying Sufism) and we were able to meet incredible leaders in this subject. Omar was so kind and generous, he even invited us to his families Riad, where we had a lovely dinner and met his family. It was a true Moroccan experience. We cannot wait to come back and visit next time. Thank you Omar!

Omar is an incredible guide who allows you to have an interesting tour of the medina of Fes. Taking a guide seems essential to me to appreciate the experience of the Medina of Fes, despite numerous trips to Morocco, the Medina of Fes is unlike any other and is so labyrinthine that a first time without a guide is able to leave a Mixed experience for most tourists. With Omar as a guide, this turns into a great tour!
