Mohammed was a phenomenal guide! He was very informative and patient. He took things slow for us as we had two travellers in their 70s. We saw all the sites in the old Medina and learned so much. I would highly recommend this tour!

Visit Place R’cif in Fez Medina, one of the most vibrant squares connecting the old city with modern Fez. This lively hub is a main gateway into the historic Fes Medina, where locals gather for shopping, dining, and socializing. Surrounded by traditional cafés, fresh produce stalls, and street food vendors, Place R’cif offers travelers a true taste of Moroccan daily life. Whether you’re starting your walking tour or looking for authentic experiences, this square is the perfect introduction to Fez.
Place Seffarine is where one of Fez's oldest and most traditional crafts is practised: metal working (in this case, copper) using heat and a hammer to turn it into teapots, cooking pots, tea caddies, trays or containers used in the preparation of tagines or cous-cous, among other things.
Step into Souk Sebbaghine (the Dyers’ Market in Fez Medina), where traditional artisans use centuries-old techniques to dye fabrics in vibrant shades. Located in the heart of Fes Medina, this colorful souk is a must-see for visitors who want to experience Morocco’s authentic crafts. Watch skilled dyers at work, capture the vivid displays of hanging textiles, and immerse yourself in one of the most unique markets of Fez.
The al-Qarawiyyin mosque, a religious school / college was founded by Fatima al-Fihri in 859 with an associated school, or madrasa, which subsequently became one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the historic Muslim world. It was incorporated into Morocco’s modern state university system in 1963. It is the oldest existing, continually operating and the first degree awarding educational institution in the world according to UNESCO and Guinness World Records and is sometimes referred to as the oldest university. Mederssa attarin enter 20 dirhams ( 2 eur) per person
Nejjarine Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts, a work of art in itself, is a true tribute to the woodworkers who have left such a mark on the cultural heritage of Morocco. Housed in a traditional former inn or caravanserai, it has been restored and was once used by travelling merchants travelling to Fez. Goods were stored and sold on the first floor while the travellers were housed and fed on the upper floors. The museum’s exhibition rooms are arranged around a central courtyard, where you can see everything from tools used by craftsmen to prayer beads, Berber locks, chests, large doors and musical instruments. A true journey back in time through small masterpieces. The enter its not included 20 dirhams per person.(2 eur)
patron saint of the city of Fez and the most revered saint in the entire country, is one of the most emblematic holy places in Morocco. Located on the Place de la Marche Verte, very close to Place Seffarine, it is a religious symbol of Islam. It is a sanctuary in which the remains of Moulay Idriss II are kept, who was one of the kings of the Idrissid dynasty and who reigned between 807 and 828. He was also the founder of the city of Fez for the second time in 810. The reason for the presence of this mausoleum dates back to 1308 when, five centuries after the death of the monarch, his body was found intact in his tomb. This is why at one point in history, more precisely from 1717 to 1824, it was decided to erect a mausoleum as a sacred place, known in Arab culture as Zaouïa. The area in which it is located is called the “Sacred Quarter”. The shrine is accessible 24 hours a day to Muslims, but not to people who practice other religions
Chouara Tannery (sometimes spelled Chouwara) is one of the three tanneries in the city of Fez, Morocco. It is the largest tannery in the city and one of the oldest. It is located in Fes el Bali, the oldest medina quarter of the city, near the Saffarin Madrasa along the Oued Fes (also known as the Oued Bou Khrareb). Its not oblige to buy its free visit
The Medersa Attarine, also known as Al-Attarine Madrasa, is a historic Islamic school in Fez, Morocco. Built between 1323 and 1325 by the Marinid sultan Abu Sa'id Uthman II , it is renowned for its stunning Moorish architecture and intricate decorations Located near the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, the madrasa features a beautifully ornamented courtyard with carved stucco, Arabic calligraphy, and colorful zellige mosaic tiles entree ticket 2 euro

We had a wonderful experience with Youssef, walking around Fes and visiting the best places.
Yousef was absolutely amazing! He is a local who knows all the best spots, the history, the culture, and most of all he absolutely knows his way around the medina. He took us to all the spots, the tannery, the blue gate, the university etc. He speaks impeccable english, is so friendly and everyone seemed to stop to say to him on the streets. 100% would recommend for a tour anytime. He is happy to show you his country and hospitality.
Amazing host showed us around and helped us get to the airport
Very nice tour, pleasant experience, super helpful
We had a great time exploring Fes with him! Super friendly, knew his stuff, and made the tour fun and easy to follow. Definitely recommend!
The tour was very good and the tour man was friendly. We saw everything we wanted to see and we got to try the local sweets and tea.
Excellent guide. Superb insights into Fes. Would recommend at the drop of a hat! 👍😄
Really worth to book. A excellent guide!
We had a wonderful experience with Yossef in Fez and highly recommend him to anyone visiting the city. Our tour was arranged through our hotel, and Yossef met us at the hotel and guided us through the old town of Fez. From the very beginning, he was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. He shared fascinating information about the history, culture, and daily life of Fez, and made sure we saw all the important sights while also helping us discover the hidden charm of the medina. Yossef was patient, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer our questions. Thanks to him, exploring Fez was easy, enjoyable, and stress-free. His passion for his city truly shines through, and it made our visit even more memorable. If you are looking for a trustworthy, professional, and genuinely kind guide in Fez, we wholeheartedly recommend Yossef. Thank you for making our visit so special!
Youssef, the guide, met us at the train station which removed the hassle of getting taxi to Medina. The tour of Medina was a good balance of interesting places and souk. He tailored our tour to end with lunch at a restaurant that we requested. His comand of English is good. Youssef will not overwhelme you with history on his standard tour, though. Ask him to give you more history at the start if you into it. We would recommend Youssef for a tour of Fes.
Tour of Fez Medina. Youssef gave us a great tour of Fez with visits to different craftsman showcasing their work.
Youssef provided an amazing tour of the Medina and highlights of Fez, highly recommended!
YOUSSEF was excellent, taking us through the Fes town to explore leather, silk, and arargan oil. He was attentive making sure we were safe on our journey. Youssef helped us find a safe and delicious restaurant the night before serving as our guide. Nice guy!
It was a great morning with Youssef around Fez. He took my partner and I around the medina and we visited the main important sites of the old city. We managed to see a lot of lovely parts and even got to stop for peppermint tea and we got to stop to tea a traditional sandwich as we had already had big meals and wanted something more local and Youssef knew just where to take us. Youssef was very friendly and forthcoming and if the weather had been nice we may have done more during our time there. I would have liked to maybe visit more places that weren't so commercial as there are a lot of places that want you to spend and i'm not great at bartering but aside from that everything else was fantastic.
Youssef was amazing!! Outstanding service! He showed us a lot around the old Medina. Really recommend!!
I had a amazing time. I was here for only half a day and Yusuf showed me the entire city and not a moment not one dull moment. Everything was amazing and I’m coming back again in six months with my fr

Nice tour of Medina and surrounding area. Youssef was very good. We saw a lot of merchants (mosaics, leather, textiles, oils, etc) but they were polite and not pushy. Terrific stop for tea with Uncle Abdullah - great herbal tea. Very good way to see a lot in a short time.
A great guide. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about Fez. Knows exactly wjere to go to find what your looking for. Great Guy
The guide was very friendly and showed us a lot of interesting places in Fes! It was very useful to take this guide and we were lucky to not get lost :)
Youssef was the best, he guided us through the narrow streets of Fes and let us try the best Moroccan treats. We felt privileged! Highly recommended!
We had a wonderfull visit, we had access to special boutiques, where our guide introduced us to experts that made the tour not only thoughrough, but with inseight that we could only get with a guide that was not only able to any questions we had, but who was known by so many creators around the city ! Hé is a must !!!! Go with him and your will not be desapointed. Speaks both very good English and french !!!!
This tour was way beyond anything that we expected. There is no way that we could have explored the medina without an experienced guide like Joseph. He took us to all of the important artists and removed the terror of getting lost forever in the medina. Awesome tour guide, super friendly, patient and knowlegable.
We had a truly wonderful experience with Youssef. He took such great care of us throughout the day—guiding us through local artisan workshops, introducing us to talented craftspeople, and making sure we tasted delicious food from a variety of places. Beyond the tour itself, he shared so much knowledge about Morocco, and especially about Fez, helping us understand its culture, history, and traditions. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!
Youssef was a great guide. Picked up right away on WhatsApp and was able to take me on a tour with a two hours notice. Got to try some local foods and saw the main sights within the Medina without getting lost! He’ll also take you shopping if you’d like. Highly recommend.
Our guide, Yousef, took my wife and I on a wonderful tour through the Madina of Fes. He generously offered an expert commentary, and expressed great insight into the people, shops, and sights as we made our way through the maze of alleys and lanes. The tour included stops at the various trade cooperatives, where we were given helpful information from a variety of shop-persons and artisans. Overall, Yousef’s kindness and knowledge made our tour a memorable one. We heartily recommend his services!
Experiencing old Medina of Fes was amazing. He’s so knowledgeable and informative about the history and local culture and he knows all the unique areas to visit, shop, eat and drink. I highly recommend him.
Yusouf was awesome, thoughtful and informative. Our kids had the best half day wandering the Medina with him. He picked up on our likes and dislikes quickly to be able to tailor the walk on the go. Lunch recommendation was on point also. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough!
We had an amazing experience exploring the Medina of Fez with Youssef. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s rich history and hidden stories, but also one of the kindest and most genuine people we’ve met on our travels. Youssef guided us through the most authentic and local parts of the Medina — places we never would have found on our own — and shared fascinating insights about the traditions, artisans, and daily life of Fez. His passion for his city truly shines through in everything he says and does. If you want to discover the real Fez, beyond the tourist paths, we absolutely recommend Youssef. He made our visit unforgettable.
It was a privilege to meet young Youssef. He has introduced himself without any pressure, simply offering to help with directions. Then we felt comfortable and started a two-day tour with him and his cousin, Youssef. They are phenomenal people. The level of service they have provided makes us enjoy our visit to Fes. The two Youseefs dedicated a lot of time to helping us get to know Fes, and they introduced us to great people who allowed us to find what we were looking for.
He knows everything and is very helpful. He took us to the best spots and took good pictures for us. He even helped us with an issue with the dinner reservation we had at a restaurant and made a recommendation for a better one. 10 sur 10. Thank you and Merci.
We had a fantastic time with our guide, Youssef, and will highly recommend this tour! This was one of the best tours that we had in Morocco. Youssef started the tour right on time and showed us different aspects of the Fez Medina. His English is excellent and was very generous and friendly with us. He is extremely passionate about his city and was very excited to tell us about the culture and sights. We felt very welcome in Fez despite our short one night stay here. We did not feel rushed throughout the tour and saw the various sights of the medina. We would love to go on another tour with Yosseuf!
My private tour with Youssef was absolutely amazing! He not only showed me the hidden, local spots around the medina but also explained every corner of the city in detail. We visited a local bakery and enjoyed fresh mint tea, the best rooftop view, and he even took me to a fantastic local restaurant outside of the medina. I wouldn’t have been able to do this on my own and i am very thankful to have found him for this experience in my short stay in Fes. Highly recommend! :)
We had a nice tour with Youssef. Good explanations of the culture and historical monuments inside the Medina. We have seen all what we wanted within the nice 3 hours tour. Thank you Youssef
Very nice tour! Would recommend. I loved the smaller cultural elements in the tour, such as the visit at the neighbourhood bakery. Also he holds attention to your specific interests and will make sure your visit is the best for you! Youssef has a chill energy also which is nice in the midst of the turbulence of the medina. Chokran!
Exploring Fes is an unforgettable experience, but let me be clear: exploring the maze-like medina without a guide would be nearly impossible. We were incredibly fortunate to have Youssef as our guide, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks to Youssef, our time in the city was spent efficiently and effectively. He didn't just walk us from point A to point B; his deep roots in Fes—he is a proud native—meant he had connections everywhere. He was able to show us things that truly elevated the tour beyond the typical tourist route. For instance, he arranged access to a stunning rooftop view of the city from a luxury hotel that you wouldn't normally get without being a guest, and we even got to see an authentic, working local bakery/oven (*ferran*) used daily by the community. Youssef’s tour flow was seamless and refined, with absolutely no wasted time or awkward transitions. His professionalism, local knowledge, and warm personality made the entire day a highlight of our trip. If you're looking for an authentic, insightful, and stress-free way to discover Fes, booking Youssef is the best decision you can make!
Brilliant experience with Youssef, he explained everything nicely and clearly in good English, took us to place to have some local food which were great, overall, a great experience.
Had a wonderful experience of Fes with Youssef as our guide. He explained the history and culture of the medina, took us to all the main areas like the tannery, mosque, university, and also some lovely local shops for sweets and the best mint tea. Youssef is a lovely guy, we were so relaxed with him, he felt like a friend.
Youssef gave me a half-day private tour of Fès Medina. It was a wonderful overview of such a rich cultural and historical place. Wonderful views over the city, local spots for food and mint tea, as well as main sightseeing attractions and artisan workshops. Youssef is very friendly and relaxed. I highly recommend.
we had a one day tour of fes, our guide youssef showed us in detail things that we could not have noticed on our own. thank you for knowing so much and sharing your knowledge with us
Thanks to Mr. Youssef we learned the history of the medina of Fez. The tour was very interesting, Youssef showed us many different historical and tourist places in the old part of the city, in the medina
We made the right decision choosing you as our guide in Fes. Thank you for your attention, politeness and ability to explain things in an interesting way.
Thank you for the interesting route, your willingness to answer olur questions about City and for the useful and fascinating information. We are glad that you were olur guide
İ liked how skillfully and calmly you showed me the main tourist part of Fes. Thank you for showing and telling so much new information for me
We did a private half-day tour of the Fez medina with Idrissi Fes Tours (@idrissifestours) and it was outstanding. He’s the rare guide who is discreet, classy, and deeply knowledgeable of all th quiet backstreets and key landmarks with no sales detours—just clear context, calm pacing, and space to look and listen. He spoke excellent English and French, handled the crowds and touts perfectly, and showed real respect for residents and artisans. Expect a good amount of walking (it’s the medina), but the pacing made everything feel effortless. We left with practical tips for exploring on our own and a much clearer sense of the city. If you value authenticity, good manners, and real local knowledge, book Idrissi Fes Tours. We'll definitely be back. Traveler tip: bring a little cash for tips, skip intrusive photos of people, and enjoy the realness of the moment. It’s worth it. (Date of experience: August 2025)
We’ve taken several tours across Morocco, but our half-day with Youssef was by far the most memorable. Youssef is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about his work. He guided us through the Medina, leading us through hidden gems and special corners we would have never discovered on our own. By the end of the day, we didn’t just leave with a deeper understanding of this beautiful city and its rich history—we also felt a genuine connection with Youssef himself. We wholeheartedly recommend this unforgettable experience.
It was incredible. Yusef knew all the tourist sites to share but gave good explanations— and added wonderful flourishes (like a tea shop up a set of stairs casual walkers would have passed by). We squeezed past big tours of bored people who were learning little but getting lots of selfies. We seldom take official walking tours but this one was worthwhile. Plus dozens of people stopped to share a greeting and shake his hand. It pays to be handsome and friendly.
Youssef was a really good guide, he has a lot of knowledge and knows the best placed of Fes. Also, he’s very kind and patient! I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide :)
