Private Day Trip From Fez To Chefchaouen (Without Shopping)

This listing should read “Taxi ride to Chefchaouen, with information text message” as I feel the description on the listing was misleading - under the heading “Omega Tour” it implies there is a tour included (photo attached) words used “on this tour”. There is no tour. Mistakenly I thought it included a tour of the city with an official guide (as the others we booked have). There is no tour- just a text message. Communication seemed to be difficult, the company claimed they couldn’t find me on Whats App (everyone else has managed), we weren’t given a drivers name before we were picked up - other tour operators certainly offer a smoother pre-trip service. To be fair, I should have let them know we needed to stop for breakfast before we left (as our Air B&B don’t provide one before 9am) as this confused things, but our driver Mehdi took us to an amazing Roadside Cafe where the food was great. Mehdi went above and beyond to work around the changes and be flexible to our needs, he put in a really long day and his work ethic was flawless and the driving felt very safe. My husband says Mehdi was a 5 star gentleman, and we believe he may not have been informed as to what was promised by the tour company. It also annoyed me that the minute I got to Chefchaouen, the company were messaging me on Whats App about the trip- I hadn’t even had 5 minutes to work out what was going on- it felt like I was being harassed. We ended up getting a guided tour through the Tourist information, which was 100% worth the extra money. It wasn’t the hassle free trip experience I’ve had with other tour operators in Morocco-and I found the whole day (bar our guided tour of the actual city) quite a stressful experience. If it had been listed as a taxi ride with text message I wouldn’t have booked it. I’ve felt quite pressured to leave a 5 star review but it wasn’t a 5 star experience. Hopefully this will mean others can see transparently what they are getting and decide whether to book accordingly.

We had a wonderful day trip to Chefchaouen, made truly special by our guide and driver, Younes. From the moment we set off, his hospitality stood out — he was friendly, thoughtful, and generous in sharing personal stories and insights about Morocco, which made the journey feel authentic and engaging rather than just a standard tour. Even with heavy rain along the way, Younes’ driving skills were excellent and made the 8-hour round trip feel like a breeze. We always felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. His professionalism and calm confidence, especially in challenging weather, made this a truly memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this tour.

Mohammed, our driver, was amazing! He spent with us 4 full days taking us to different cities in Morocco. He picked us up at Fez, then Rabat, Casa Blanca, Chefchouan and Tetouan.

I was fortunate to have had a day with my Private guide Abdel Karim, Driving to Chefchaouen I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Our drive was several hours from Fes, Abdel and I passed the time in conversation the whole way there and back, he was so accommodating when I wanted to stop to see the roadside stalls along the way. The experience was amazing and Abdel made this a memorable day for me. I recommend him highly and appreciate his professionalism a super guy and a privilege to have shared the day with him.

We were completely enchanted by the blue city of Chefchaouen. It’s both dazzling and calming. The water is a wonder unto itself. We are so glad we stayed an extra day to experience the vacant streets in the early morning and have a traditional local breakfast. Highly recommend if you can make the stunning mountain drive: Akchour National Park and its waterfalls. It’s about an additional hour on the road, but what a splendid road it is. Our guide, Amin, is a kind hearted, effortlessly friendly, incredibly wise man of the world who makes personal, positive connections his life’s mission without pretense. He knows and loves his country and knows the best ways to highlight it. We will miss him, as he was our driver and guide for several days beyond this tour. It was the best part of our two weeks in Morocco.

Chefchaouen Day Trip Private Driver We suggest going on a day trip and allowing yourself four (4) hours to visit tbe sites, wander the village, and take in a leisurely lunch. Our driver Amine was on time to pick us up in the R’Cif square and his vehicle was a nice clean mini van that was spacious and had comfortable seats. The drive to Chefchaouen Is about 4 hours and the scenery is lovely. We had a stop at a highway motel complex with a pool, some coffee and baked goods. It should be noted that the guy running it at the cash register was not friendly or polite. We recommend this tour company as all correspondence was clear. Our driver Amine was a good driver, very kind and friendly, a Fes local and was very knowledgable about local culture & customs, the plants, the mountains, towns…all of it. When he dropped us off at the town for the visit, he briefed us on the layout of the town and how to easily see the most important things. He was also a safe driver and we never felt unsafe, pressured or stressed. We really liked the whole adventure. Chefchaouen is a beautiful village worth a day visit, with tiny shops and great photo opportunities. No need to stay overnight though…again, a day trip here is fine.

We absolutely loved our tour of Chefchaouen with our wonderful driver Hamza. We will remember the day trip—and him—forever! He was so kind, welcoming and made us feel safe—and we joked he felt like our Moroccan brother by the end of the day! We travelled with Hamza (green eyes, the title we gave him). It was a pleasure to travel with him. His English was pretty good which made communication very easy. He provided good overview of the area. In the later part of our trip, I started to have motion sickness. He stopped the car, took good care of me, giving me water to splash on my face and neck. Later on he kept checking how I was feeling. On the way back he kept checking on me again. My other trip mates also enjoyed good chat with him about Morocco and local area. We felt him like a family member. Well mannered with great professionalism. Would love to trave with him again.

Day trip from Fes to chaefchouen, very comfortable car and Hicham is very nice, friendly, drives carefully and was always helpful. He also took us to eat lunch in a very good place and where we spent the right amount, super recommended.

We didn't have much time for Chefchaouen so this trip was perfect for us. We needed to make it to Tangier for our flight and were able to arrange a private tour and trip with Omega Tours. Our driver, Amin, was especially friendly and professional. He made the otherwise long drive feel effortless and enjoyable. Very thankful to have taken this tour with him, as he gave us a lot of inisght into Morrocans culture - including heartfelt recommendations on where to go and what to do (without hard selling/pushing with nothing to gain), advice with regard to bargaining & false/fake tour guides, and even philosophy! Very glad we took this trip and it felt extremely flexible as we could stop anywhere along the drive - the countryside of Morocco is truly beautiful so make full use of it! I was driven from Fes to Chefchaouen and back by Amine. He displayed a very high degree of professionalism and conscientiousness in his driving, and I learned a great deal about the destination from him. He also comes across as a really nice guy :) Very glad to have taken this tour.

I had a tight schedule but really wanted to see Chefchaouen, so this tour was the perfect choice! The drive is long (4 hours each way), but the views on the drive are beautiful and it did not feel tedious in the slightest. Also the Blue City is more than enough payoff! Our driver was Ahmed, who was friendly, had a passion for Fes and Morocco, and drove very safely. We really appreciated Ahmed, who genuinely seemed to enjoy sharing his country and culture with us. (In stark contrast to a previous guide from a different agency we had in Fes, who spent the whole tour trying to make us buy things from his friends/affiliates). Ahmed was also very considerate and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our trip (at one point he bought us bread to feed the peacocks at a rest stop!). If you want to see Chefchaouen but can't spare an overnight trip, I highly recommend this tour.

I booked this private tour from Fez to Chefchaouen, my tour guide is Amine. He showed up at my Riad on time, Amine is knowledgeable, polite and professional. Often those tour drivers drive very high speed and it is dangerous and risky to the passengers, but Amine has excellent driving skills and driving in the speed with the safety in mind. He was not rushing trying to get the day done. This is the most part factor for me to evaluate a tour driver, I am on vacation and I don't want to have car accident in a foreign country and safety is the most important thing to me. I am very happy with Amine's driving skill and speed. Amine also took me to the Spanish square so I could take some excellent pictures of Fez and nice view from the above. it was a nice tour and I truly enjoyed, I highly recommend Amine and omega tour.

This is our first trip to Morocco and it exceeded all our expectations. Amazing sceneries, rich culture, and one of the friendlier people I've met. Our savvy and fun tour guide Mostafa, kept us informed and entertained throughout the whole trip to Chefchaouen. Very impress with his knowledge of Morocco and its history. We utterly enjoyed his company and our casual conversations. We highly recommend their services and hopefully we can come back to do a different tour with Mostafa again in the future.

My wife and I just finished touring Chefchaoen an hour ago. Mostafa, our driver and guide, was great. He genuinely cares about his clients, and gives 100 percent of his energy to make sure you have a great time. He tells you all about Chefchaoen: the history, the people, and gives you great insight into Moroccan culture. At the end of the day, my wife and I both felt like we made a good friend, as well as having a great tour. He is a fantastic tour guide, and will be the first person I call when I return to this beautiful country.

One of my main reasons for visiting Morocco was to visit Chefchaouen. I travel solo so it was very important that the company and especially the guide be reliable and safe. I wrote Omega Tours an email on my travel dates and they got back to me immediately with details on the tour. I then called and spoke with the person who would later turn out to be my fabulous guide, Mustafa. He provided details and even gave me safety tips when traveling via train from Marrakech to Casablanca. The morning of the tour Mustafa was punctual and we started our 4 hour drive. Mustafa is personable, a pleasure to talk to and relaxed which made the drive fun! We stopped to take a view of a dam and the beautiful Moroccan landscape. You also get a gorgeous view of the Rif mountains. We had another stop to snack on juicy sweet oranges by the roadside. Then we stopped at a gas station/rest stop where they had peacocks! When we arrived in Chefchaouen Mustafa told me to take my time and gave me a mobile phone to get in touch when I was done. After my solo tour of the town we walked to a nearby waterfall where he helped me take some great pictures. The drive back was equally fun although you'll be tired from the day trip so just relax or better yet chat with Mustafa. I gotta admit ladies, by the end of the trip I found him delightfully charming. I had an unforgettable day trip to the city called The Blue Pearl and highly recommend you book with Omega Tours for any excursion in and outside of Fez. Happy travels!

<p>This private tour through viator was done by omega tours.Salim who was polite,professional, again was the driver and since I was alone,they provided me a guide Mustafa in the amazing blue city.the 8 hr roundtrip was comfortable in aircon van with rest stop.Lunch was fabulous in a little cafe.Going through medina was winding,great photo oportunities,a great guide though being a senior and the heat took the wind out of me.great experience in my bucket list.</p>
