Private Day Tour To Meknes, Volubilis And Moulay Idriss From Fez

The tour was just very well organized. From the pickup in the hotel till the end. Oumina, our guide , and the driver, were just perfect. Professional and very prepared she was Kind and available at all times. Thanks!

The “private tour” was more of a vehicle transfer to the above mentioned places rather than a guided tour. The driver drives safely but speaks very little or incomprehensible English. At Volubilis, my guide was supposed to do a tour in English but could only speak French. I had to eavesdrop other tour guides providing commentary of the tour. For lunch, the tour operator fixed an expensive but very average restaurant which was not included in the price.

The tour is a must. So many beautiful things to see in only one day. Driss was an amazing guide. Lot of history, lot of free conversation and all of that with a nice touch of humor. We were already in love with Morocco. But Driss made us fall more in love.

Great tour around ancient cities like being back in time in ancient city life. Good driving. Expect a fee extra fees for local tours, well worth it.

The tour operator was professional and communicative - we knew the night before that our driver would be Abdul and when he’d be at our Riad. Abdul was lovely, professional, and kind. When we stopped by a vista, he went and got us figs. He gave an overview of the history of where we were - which was crucial for a short stop in Moulay Idriss where there isn’t signage, and had set us up with guides in Volubilis and Meknes (who were both knowledgeable - we’d done a bit of reading ahead of time and the guides knew their stuff - no dubious claims or false info). When we ran out of dirhams because we didn’t prepare correctly, he fronted us some cash to pay for incidentals. Of course we paid him back at the end - but his preparedness ensured that we had the best day possible. He was fantastic. The sites themselves were incredible and we encourage folks to pay for a guide in Meknes (you’ll cover more ground and get more out of your visit). Overall, a really lovely day and we learned a ton. Really recommend this tour if you have a couple of days in Fez and want to see some of the surrounding history.

It's not that this was a bad experience for us, but we really spent way too much time in a car. We had a great time in Volubilis, as the guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't stop in Moulay Idriss, we just drove past it. The driver did offer us to stop for picture reasons, but we didn't get to stop and walk around a bit. Meknes was kinda do your own thing. We had lunch there, walked around a little and hopped back into the car. The driver did gave us directions and helped us mapped our drives to the desert and all. It would have been a much worse experience driving from the desert to Marrakech if it's not for his advice.

The best part was Volubilis. Please, make sure to get guide to get immersed into history of this place.

A dirty, old car that stalled 3 times took us from Fes to Volubilis - when we got there, our guide could barely speak English. He did take great photos of us though! We had to read about it on Wikipedia to get a sense of what we saw there!

Excellent guides - however please confirm with the company beforehand where you will get your guides and where you won’t. We were told last minute of their hiring prices and it wasn’t cheap. Bad communication on the part of the Tour company….I wouldn’t blame the tour guides though.

Volubilis is absolutely stunning and well worth the trip...if you do go I hope you get the same driver as I did ,hassan he was simply the best and his choice of restaurant restored my faith in moroccan food...nothing was too much trouble for him polite and helpful and informative...moulay idriss is a must see too. I did 3 tours with 3T (private half day medina walking tour, full day group tour of Meknes/Volubilis, full day group tour of Chefchaouen). Overall, guides and drivers were friendly, helpful, can communicate proficiently. I generally got the sense that they wanted me to have a good experience and wasn’t just trying to get me in/out as quickly as possible. (For those that have been on tours in other countries, the guides on these tours were also definitely a lot less pushy with shops/buying stuff, which I appreciated so much.) Ahmed for the Fez medina tour was especially great. He’s native to the medina and kind of took me around like a friend. He stopped by shops to greet people and encouraged me to pop in if I found an artisan interesting. The experience made up for my pickup being delayed by more than 30 min without communication (I waited for 30 min before tour company finally got back to me on the delay…they were extremely apologetic).

We booked this trip on trip advisor and the agency contacted us immediately to confirm. They were very responsive to our messages and very accommodating to chose the pick up location. Our driver Mustafa gave us a lot of anecdotal stories and amazing explanations about the places we visited. The tour of volubilis was the cherry on top of the cake. We can only recommend this agency and Mustafa for making this trip possible but also very enjoyable.

An excellent tour! Our driver, Aziz, was very professional, punctual, friendly and gave us useful information along the way. We were mainly interested in visiting Volubilis, so we preferred to spend more time there and less in the other sites; that's why it was great to have the flexibility of a private tour. Volubilis is quite big, so if you're a fan of ancient Roman history, you should definitely go for a private tour. It was very useful to have a local guide in Volubilis (included in the price), as there is not much information, but after the guide finished his tour, we stayed for some extra time to wander around by ourselves. After visiting Volubilis, we passed by Moulay Idriss, without stopping in the town itself (doesn't seem like there's much to see there) but only to take panoramic pictures of it, and then we had a few hours for a lunch and leisurely stroll in Meknes; most of the market stalls in the Medina were closed, as it was Friday, but we visited a beautiful madrasa and saw the impressive city gate. All in all, it was a great tour, with interesting sites (Volubilis definitely being the highlight), and a friendly and knowledgeable driver; highly recommended!

Hamzah was the driver and mini guide, he was excellent. On time pickups, enjoyed the drive and the sites were excellent (especially Volubilis). We also had a guide included in Meknes which was a nice touch. A very good day out. Highly recommended.

Mustafa picked us up on time and we headed out. He was full of information and answered all of our questions. He made sure we had a great trip. Very friendly man. Ask for Mustafa if you book a trip!

Souka is amazing at taking pictures. Rest of the tour pales in comparison. Literally. The spirit of the people (not logistics etc) is the only reason this gets 5 stars.

I went on the trip to Meknes and Volubilis in June 2019. I really enjoyed that there was a small number of us on the trip which meant it was personalised and we got loads of information about Morocco and our surroundings from our driver. There's an optional (200 dirham) guided tour in Volubilis which was nice, and it very reasonable if a few people share the cost between them! Volubilis was my favourite part, although it was also lovely to explore Meknes and see the different parts of the city.

Mustapha was our driver and he was truly fantastic! We enjoyed our time. I recommend this tour to everyone.

An amazing excursion to Meknes, Volubilis and Moulay Idriss from Fez. Transport was in a new and very comfortable Minibus with air conditioning, we were assisted during the trip Omar and labhar, brahim,younes. Superb guides who explained to us throughout the trip what we were seeing in great detail and in perfect Spanish! Besides giving us advice on shopping or customs of the city. They picked us up at the hotel on time and took us comfortably in a mini bus making stops along the way to take pictures and explaining us along the way the important monuments where we passed. I recommend it, very comfortable as they take us and you can leave the suitcase on the bus

Fantastic experience! Souka and Zalariya have been magnificent guides, always attentive and very friendly. We have learned a lot from it. Without a doubt I would repeat again!!

Rachid meknes guide is a very good guide, the itinerary is reasonable, and there is no excessive sales pitch. The driver and guide are very good in English, the amount of information is large, and the guide is very patient. Departed at 9 o'clock and arrived in Fez before 6 o'clock. The itinerary is reasonable.

Very nice day, very friendly team, comfortable bus, 1h30 to Volubilis, 1h30 visit to Meknes after lunch in a good restaurant. We advise you to take a guide especially for Meknes, Rachid was great.

Great time, the driver was incredibly kind in addition to being punctual and flexible in relation to our needs. He provided us with lots of historical and cultural information. I recommend without problem!

Difficulty in contacting through the different numbers provided the operator who had to come to pick us up at the Dar, meeting canceled for meeting point convenient to the tour operator. Departure with a delay of about 30 minutes. At the Vulubilis archaeological site the Italian guide did not show up and our driver tried to work it out using a local guide and trying to translate what he was saying. A disaster. Here too, there is a delay of more than 30 minutes. I then arrive in Meknes with a long delay. This judgment is grossly insufficient. I break a spear against the driver who tried to put us at ease and did everything possible to solve the various problems.
