All of the staff are very good, the driver is professional, and the guides both on the vehicle and in Meknes are high-quality. The van is in good condition, and while it doesn’t have air conditioning, there is enough ventilation that I found it comfortable although in the summer, I’m not sure what it would be like. Both Volubilis and Meknes themselves are very much worth your time. The only things I would have changed our first, more time in Volas because I think you need two hours to do it properly. Second, a guide there would have been great because while there’s a lot of information online and there there are some very Spartan signs, someone to show us around and explain things would’ve been good. But of course that would have cost more. The last point is that being led around by a guide in the medina itself is a bit stressful as you have to use all your focus to avoid getting separated from the group and dodging the passing vehicle traffic. But there’s not much they can do about that, and the places we stopped inside the medina were quite nice. Overall, this was a very good experience for us and our young children.

An enjoyable tour to visit Volubilis and Meknes. Volibilus is self guided. The tour around Meknes was with a friendly informative guide around this interesting city.
I booked the night before on viator , as soon as I booked all the information came through about the tour . We had a hotel pick up at 9.30 , first stop was the ancient ruins , we had an hour and 20 minutes to look around , then it was off to mulay Idris to a very cute village . After thst we had a lunch stop at a lovely restaurant In Meknes , after lunch a local guide took the group on a walking tour of the town , I sat it out as I have a bad leg but my husband and daughter really enjoyed it . Both our guides Hashim and Rashid were very good as was our driver Hassan . It was a long day but worth it .
The Good: Volubilis (the Roman ruins) was fantastic, with generous time given to explore. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, empathetic, and handled the afternoon well despite the set-backs. The driver drove safely throughout the trip. Areas Needing Immediate Attention: Safety Hazard: A protruding screw in the bus hit my head upon pickup. Had I not been wearing a thick hat, I would have required stitches. Vehicles must be inspected before passengers board. Lunch & Timing: After leaving Volubilis at 1:00 PM, we didn't arrive at the lunch venue in Meknes until 3:00 PM with no updates provided about when we would eat. The restaurant clearly wasn't expecting us—our guide had to step in as a waiter, pushing our afternoon itinerary back until 4:30 PM. Itinerary (Moulay Idriss): The stop at Moulay Idriss felt unnecessary. Since non-Muslims cannot enter the mausoleum, we only looked at green rooftops from a distance, and the historical context provided was repeated later in Meknes. Leaving this stop out would free up much-needed time. Vehicle Power: The minibus was a bit underpowered for the terrain.
1.5 hrs in Volobilis was plenty, not rushed. Panoramic views of Moulay Idrees was great! Our driver Hashim, took us for a wonderful traditional lunch that was very filling Menkes was a bit rushed but it was already a long day, so that's ok! Best was our driver Hashim. Funny, friendly and took time to explain the entire drive and stopped along the Rif Mountains for some amazing photos!. He spoke English, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic and a few other languages! It was a very scenic drive! Well worth the day.
Hamsa and Abdul were great guides / drivers. The local guide in Meknes was also great, I learned a lot about Islam as well as the city.
Confortable ride, responsive guide (Abdelhadi ) and the driver is ( Hassan ). Very informative local guide of Meknes.
Tour guides Abdelhadi, and Said, were excellent. They were super informative and catered to our every need. Our driver Hassan drove carefully and responsibly. He also was very cordial. The team arranged for a local Meknes guide who explained the city’s rich history and answered all our questions. Medium group size was perfect. Would definitely book with this group again! Thank you!
While we originally booked a small group tour, we ended up on a private tour for the day! Our driver, Radwan, was friendly and accommodating. Along our way he explained some things about Moroccan culture & history and made great recommendations for food to try and things to experience while we were in town (this was only day 2 of our vacation). When we got to Meknes, we had a great lunch (recommended by Radwan) and were picked up by our tour guide, Rashid. He was incredibly knowledgeable and took us through the Medina, the markets and all of the cultural sites we had wanted to visit. Would definitely recommend!
Our driver Driss was also a great guide explaining the history at each stop. Nothing was rushed. Lunch was at a very nice new clean restaurant. Choice on menu, not set. Meknes was a nice city to visit.
My Driver Ahmed is very friendly and gives a lot of local information about fes and morocco along the trip. And his driving skills is very stable and I appreciated it. The tour guide in Meknes that we joined is very professional too. I enjoyed the trip very much.
A very worthwhile excursion from Fes - don’t think twice, just do it. Driss, our driver and guide was a knowledgeable, efficient and even entertaining throughout our day. Highly recommend this day trip!
Start to finish a good day. There were my family of 5, a couple and a single man. We fit comfortably in tge can. We were never rushed but given tines time return ti the bus. The lunch option was decent prix fixe 125 MAD with overpriced beverages. All were happy.
Ahmed was Very efficient and knowledgeable in Maknes showing us all the sites, handicraft, amd foods
Had a wonderful full day trip with guide Hassan who was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Got picked up and dropped off on scheduled times. Well done Hassan and thank you again for the great experience.
Fantastic experience. Must to while in Fes. Beautiful way to see countryside. Also, walking through Vollubilis freely was amazing. Can’t do that anywhere else really!
Amazing time in Meknès with very knowledgeable Rachid + Volubilis ruins + Moulay Idriss + great lunch recommendation Would do again
An interesting and worthwhile day trip. It was well paced with lots of opportunities for breaks and photos. Hassan is a wonderful driver and the tour of Meknes with Rashid was fascinating. If you’re visiting Fès then I highly recommend you visit Meknes too for the complete cultural experience.
Very well organized, expect a pace that is a bit tight because there are lots of things to see. I suggest getting a guide for the meknes tour because you don’t have much time and need to make the most of it
We’ve had tours before in Morocco where the driver was just a driver and didn’t speak English. Hassan was more than a driver, he was a guide, and did speak English and French! The amount of time we had in Volubilis and Meknes was perfect and as a small group of 6 tourists we collectively decided to skip going into Moulay Idriss town, though the panoramic view was amazing. Would highly recommend this day trip from Fès - Volubilis was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and Meknes was surprisingly different from Fes. Local guide there was great as well! Entry to Volubilis is now 100 MAD for foreign adults, and bring some cash as well to tip the guides and pay for lunch.
Driss was a wonderful driver and guide. He allowed us enough time to explore sites and provided interesting information on the history and other details of what we were visiting. I really enjoyed our tour and highly recommend it as a great experience!
Good driver, a variety experiences. An entertaining and sociable guide. We had a good lunch in Meknes. Everything worked very well.
The highlight of the day was the visit of Meknes with a local guide, the city has a number of interesting sights and it felt much more relaxed and pleasant than nearby Fez. Volubilis was for us a bit of a let down, the site is large but the lack of information and directions made our visit very superficial. The lunch place in Meknes was surprisingly good.
A very enjoyable informative day. Pick up on time & at the appointed location. Great driver & Hassan the overall trip guide. We has scenic stops & an hour for lunch at a great restaurant. Excellent guides, Rashid at Volubilis & Moh at Meknes. Also comms from the operator so always available with any issues - of which there were none. Many thanks 3T travel
Good communication beforehand from Zahra at 3T Travel who provided useful tips and also helped to ensure a smooth pick-up on the day, at a location close to our riad. Though I would have held off on sending the ads for other trips/activities until after the trip (e.g. as part of a "Thank you for choosing us, please feel free to leave us a review, and here are other tours we offer" message). We opted to have local guides which we felt was the right decision, especially in Volubilis. We were given the choice of stopping in Moulay Idriss or driving through - based on our guide's advice, we decided to skip it. Our first stop in Meknes was lunch at a restaurant - though our guide did say we were free to go elsewhere, he didn't offer alternative options (we were not keen on a multi-course meal and the restaurant they took us to felt a bit too much like a tourist trap) so we were left trying to find somewhere on our own in a new city and with limited time. We did go on a Friday (31 Oct), knowing that the souks in Meknes would be closed, so while we had the medina mostly to ourselves, we knew we missed out on the vibrant market atmosphere. The guides on the bus seemed a little superfluous, with one guide for the route to Volubilis and another on the route to Meknes, but neither of them really sharing much information. Ultimately, we're grateful this tour existed as we wouldn't have been able to see Volubilis and Meknes otherwise.
We had an amazing day trip to Meknes and Volubilis with Abdelhadi and our driver Hassan! The trip was so well organized and relaxed. Abdelhadi wasn’t just a guide, he felt more like a great host who made sure we had the best experience. He shared so much interesting info along the way and made the day really fun. Hassan was super friendly and drove us comfortably the whole time. Totally recommend both of them!
Zaki picked me up on time at my hotel. While some passengers were late, he was very polite, respectful and friendly. He gave us very interesting commentaries on the places we were passing by and stopped at a few panoramic view points. He was a very careful driver and we felt very safe. The tour was long but we all enjoyed it. Thank you Zaki for a wonderful day!
Spacious bus (only 10 of us on the tour) that was air conditioned. Our guides in the car were great! Good energy and knowledgeable. Rashid, our guide in Meknes, was phenomenal. He was the highlight of our day! He had an in depth knowledge of Meknes and great humour. They supplied water for us throughout the day. Entry to Volubilis was €10/person. Entry to the music museum was €3/person (really cool museum). Guides at both Meknes and Volubilis were included in the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it. The bus was comfortable and very well driven by Hassan who is a lovely friendly man. Hassan, the guide, was also excellent. He was very personable and helpful. He guided us around the many sites very well. Volubilis was fascinating. It was like stepping back in time. Meknes was also interesting. We particularly enjoyed the tour with Rashid. The lunch restaurant was also very quality and value. It was a long day but very worth it. This is an excellent tour company. They delivered exactly what they said they would and on time.
This is a great option if you have many days in Fes and feel like you need to get out of the Medina for a bit. The tour was on time, it took us to the mentioned places, gave us water, the van had a/c, the staff was nice. I definitely recommend this tour.
This tour was good value- pickup and drop off were efficient and it was very well run- (thanks to Said and Aziz). We hit a lot of different spots and it didn’t feel like we spent too much time driving. I definitely recommend getting the local guides, they added a lot to the experience. Our tour was on a Friday so most of the shops in the Medina in Meknes were closed but our tour guide Rashid made sure that we still had plenty to see and learn! budget an extra 250-300 dirhams per person for things not included and bring snacks and water to save some $$$. Overall a great day trip from Fes.
We had a wonderful trip which was mixed of Roman ruins archeological sites and Meknes Medina. Our tour driver/guide Mr Zakir make this trip more comfortable with his advices and kind extra time. The highlights of the trip are roman ruins archeological site in Volubilis, Meknes Medina trip. We did shopping in Meknes Medina where price seems cheaper than Marrakech/Fes. Thanks to the tour operator and specially to Mr Zakir.
You will need to pay at volubilis! Tour guides presented are lovely, the restaurant is okay but not worth the cost, I recommend eating beforehand and then eating after so you don't have to eat too much at the restaurant they drop you off at, definitely bring water, and keep an eye on your driver- make sure to know exactly the time and location he will meet you at after dropping you off to wander around!
It’s very reluctant and affordable trip. The service was extremely good. One should definitely try for a day trip which is far better than other activities at fes. Thank you.
the tour went efficiently . Hassan was very pleasant and accommodating . Rashid in Meknes very knowledgeable
Had a wonderful trip to Meknes and Volubilis with Mustafa. The car was super comfortable with AC, and he walked with us in Moulay Idriss, sharing great insights. Friendly, relaxed, and well organized day
Wonderfull tour and perfect guides on location, Rashid in Mekness en Moulay Idris in Volubilis were superb.
Convenient way to see volubilis and meknes, which are worth visiting while in Fes. The driver was lovely, drove carefully and gave us some useful live commentary on our route. The van was also safe and comfortable. The guides at volubilis aren't pre-arranged so you take whoever's available - ours was pretty average. However our Meknes guide was fantastic and knew a lot about the city.
Really good day out. Take good shoes lots of walking. Plenty of opportunities to take pictures. We went with a guide called sufian who was very helpful, he then told us about another trip he could arrange. Said it was through the company. Anyway long story short it was terrible and he took 40 euros for his journey. The actual trip we booked from the company was great but he is obviously a dodgy guy who appered nice. I did complain to the company who apologised. But it did leave me feeling very deceived by him
There are so many beautiful sceneries to take in. The tour around Meknes was amazing and Rashid did a great job! He has interesting things to share with us. We had a great walk around the Medina and town. The Roman ruins was also very interesting (not so much from what the guide told us) but it was interesting to be there.
Good service, easy to contact, well organised pickup in Fes. Driver was open to our wishes and tour went well.
Really good experience. Small group tour with helpful and knowledgeable guide. Dedicated guides at Volubilis and Meknes ensured you got the local expertise. Hassle free pick-up, very flexible and not at all pushy.
Very interesting day trip. I did the option with the local guide. Both were very informative and able to answer my questions. A well-paced day.
Hassle free, not rushed, tour covered exactly what was mentioned. Driver and guide was lovely and patient in explaining.
We took the 1 day trip without a guide. I booked at 6pm the night before and was quickly contacted via whatsapp. We where picked up in a van near our AirBnB, the stops were: A hill view which was very nice, then a quick stop at Moulay Iddriss, 15 mins there. Next stop was Volubilis which is the highlight if the trip (1 h, 100dhr entry fee). Then Meknes 3hours, it was Friday so all shops were closed, but the Mausoleom that was open to non-muslims was beautiful. After that, we didn’t really have anything to do, so we came back early to Fes. I’d say: Volubilis and Mausoleom highlights. Everything else can be optional.
The tour was not worth the money for what we paid for and activities. Most disappointing tour in Morrocco that we did there for our time.
We had a great crew Hassan (driver), and Baha (guide). It’s our first trip of 3 day and multiday trips with 3T travel. I was nervous at first because of a few recent mediocre reviews about the company. But everything turned out well. The only hiccup was the local guide at Volubilis who was taking more time than allocated. Other than that everything went smoothly
This was a lovely day trip from Fes to Meknes, Volubilis and Moulay Idriss! We were picked up on time and in the communicated location. Our driver and guide were very kind and translated everything in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish). We didn’t feel rushed the entire day and were able to see everything at our own pace. We had a local tour guide in Maine’s as well as Volubilis and both were wonderful. Our driver and guide were especially very kind at the end of our tour where they made a stop especially for us (after the rest of the group was dropped off) to buy some food for our son. We really really appreciated that because we know it was already a super long day for them!
Our tour in Volubilis and Meknès was wonderful. Hassan and Omar our drivers and organisers were perfect. They translate in Spanish French and English so everyone can follow the experience. At night they let everyone near our accommodation. Congrats guys and thank you. The tour is stunning, the view is so nice and Volubilis and Meknès are really spots to see. The 2 guides were really professional and interesting.
This was a really interesting tour going to Volubilis, Moullay Idriss and Meknes. Our driver Hassan was wonderful and spoke very good English too. He worked well with Omar who spoke French, English and Spanish! Such clever people! It was beautiful driving through the Atlas Mountains to the Riff mountains with panoramic views. We drove in a circular route from Fez so we didn't pass the same scenery twice. Volubilis was fascinating and the mosaics were on par with Pompeii and Ephesus. Our local guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He spoke several languages too and kept our mixed group well informed. Our lunch was extra and the restaurant recommended by Omar was truly delightful. Rachid, our local guide in Meknes went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive, insightful and real encounter with the Medina and the historical treasures of the town like the Mausoleum. He took us to the Jewish sector which was very moving for me. This experience was so unique, well organised and memorable for all the right reasons. The Amazighens who hosted us were very generous in spirit. I can't recommend this highly enough. Shukran!
