The most insightfull and beautiful adventure. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Morroco. The trip there although long was easy fpr us thanks to our amazing driver Najim. In the desert is like you really feel what's important in life as tome stands still. People are very kind and love to tell stories about the place and the life in the biggest hot desert.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Departing from Fez you will begin your ascent into the Atlas mountains where you will pass through Ifrane, a winter ski resort in a totally un-Moroccan style built by the French in the 1930's to resemble a Swiss village. Visit the cedar forest in Azrou and see the monkeys in the trees. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert.
Halfway, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks, then you will continue towards Merzouga
You will reach to Merzouga in the afternoon around 5pm, where your guide and camels will be waiting for you. After a short break you will start a camel trek across the sandy dunes of the Erg Chebbi. See the desert landscape and sunset from the camelback, and after two hours you will reach to the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. After dinner, watch the stars. Overnight in the tent.
Day 2
2
In the morning you can get up early, take a walk over the sand dunes and watch the sunrise from just behind the Algerian border, which is about 31 miles (50 km) from Merzouga. Return back to your camp to have breakfast.
Enjoy your one way transfer from Merzouga to Marrakech or back to Fes.

A very nice experience, Omar and Musta are very friendly and prepared guides, they speak multiple languages and made us feel comfortable for the whole long journey. Aziz is an awesome driver, his driving style is smooth and the long mountainous drive passed flawlessly. The dunes look amazing, the camping is well equipped, clean and the food is good.
This was a great tour! We were slightly unsure if we'd actually get picked up at our Riad (or nearby) the morning of, but we heard from them the night before via WhatsApp and felt good about the pickup plan. Went to the chosen location in the morning and immediately met Mustafa, who was a great driver and pseudo-guide for both days of our trip. The drive isn't too bad, especially since we did the Private Tour so we had the car to ourselves. We weren't very interested in most of the stops along the way because we thought it'd be better to get to the desert sooner. However, the camel ride was only scheduled for 6:30pm and they take you to your campsite, so there's no point in actually rushing to get there earlier. Therefore, enjoy the stops along the way, have a leisurely lunch, etc. The camel ride was great - you walk onto the dunes and stop to watch the sun set - and the service at the kasbah was top tier. Only thing was that dinner was really late, but it was delicious, and the campfire and songs were fun. Downside is definitely that there isn't A/C in the tents - it was really difficult to sleep. We didn't realize there isn't any A/C until it was too late, so we suffered in the heat for the night. We were also told to meet in the morning to watch the sunrise with a guide, but when we woke up for that there was no guide to take us out into the desert. We ended up just going out on our own to try to see it, though there is so much sand along the horizon that there isn't too much of a sunrise view. The drive from the desert to Marrakech is incredibly windy through the Atlas Mountains and drivers take the turns at a high speed, so we were particularly happy we got the Private Tour so we could lay down and sleep through the drive (and also catch up on sleep after the early morning). All in all, it was such a unique and fun experience, and we would certainly recommend it as long as you're game for a little adventure!
We stayed in Fez in a wonderful Riad/Dar fes Tresor is perfect, nice, clean, good food and the people working there are so wondeful. We made an Excursion around Fez with a tour guide and the next day from fez to the desert os Merouga, everything was organized by Souka and Hassan was the driver. The organization was perfect, i recomend this Ríad and also all the kindess and recomendations of Souka who tried all the time making everything perfecet and she got it. The driver Hassan- also very kind
This journey across Morocco from Fes to the desert includes stunning landscapes, learning about local culture, surprises like feeding monkeys and riding dromaderies in the desert. The team was very kind and amenable, the bivouack tents comfortable (although bare in mind, because they include plumbing, they are located at the cusp of the desert, not quite in it), and Hassan is a gracious and friendly guide + driver. Thank you for the experience!
Amazing experience with Hamza. He accompanied us in everything, very polite and nice. He answer every doubt and taught lots of thing from Morocco. Nice to have done it with him, thanks for making our trip, unforgettable ! @flor.n89
We had the best 3 days from fez to Marrakech the first 2 days we had the best driver and the best host oumai OMAIMA she's was very lovely and answering to all our questions 😀 me and my boyfriend and the holl group.in the morning one of the people in camp get burned by tea and oumaima the only person who helped her to get better. Everything was amazing the camel ride the dinner and the breakfast and the camp .... I recommend this company 👌, shukran (triss and jake)
We are two girls going on this trip and we would highly recommend going! We had our amazing guide Soufiane who drove us aroud in a car and showed us some beautiful places before arriving to the dessert. The whole experience was amazing and we are both unable to describe how amazing. The people at het camp were also kind and we felt really save as well. If you want to see more of the country and of course the dessert i would recommend going. The only thing that we would recommend is to go when it is a bit colder. If you go in the summer like we did maybe it is better to invest in the tent with aiconditioning. Otherwise you will be really hot at night.
We went with Soufiane for two days to the desert. We had an amazing, really unforgettable experience. It was amazing to see al the places on the road, ride the camels and see the desert ourselves!
The trip to the desert together with Soufiane was such a great experience! The drive to the desert with Soufiane was excellent and went by so quickly because we were in such good company. The camel ride in the desert was fantastic and the camp was great too! I had the best time and loved every second of it. I highly recommend this trip!!!
They leave out many of the details when it comes to booking this experience. The ride is not 6 hours to the desert from Fez, ours took 10 hours and we didn’t mind it because we were on a very nice sprinter van. On the way back we were in a car with no AC and it took 9 hours. Beware the drivers are all very reckless when driving & you will be scared for 50% of the trip. They also always will bring you to the most touristy areas to shop or eat so you will be paying double what you would usually, make sure to pull out enough cash. The dinner at the campsite was quite small so I would bring snacks with you. With all this being said I would do it again in a heart beat for the experience I had in the Desert. We had the best Camel guide & it will be a memory I cherish forever, and for that I definitely recommend this experience.
The good reviews got me. The trip left a sour taste of anger in my mouth. The drivers both ways made MULTIPLE personal stops making the drive last hours longer, then skipped stops, talked about Marijuana and took us to the worst tourist restaurant with unedible food and 4x the price of amazing food in moroccan cities...it is the worse food I've been to in my 4 months in Morocco. Dont get me wrong the desert was amazing! But there are far better companies. Other areas of anger came when after the camel ride we were forced to buy extremely overpriced souvenirs from the camel handlers to get back to the hotel!
Incredible experience with u for table views. The drive is long but it’s broken up with stops along the way to eat lunch, use facilities, and some stops to see attractions along the way like monkeys and oasis views. The overnight camp is stunning and well organized. Highly recommend but the drive is long (most of the day)
It was a great experience, the trip, driver, the camp, the food , camel rides was great !! I did many tours with the agency and Souka was a great help to me bcoz she offered to me all the help and support!! I really enjoyed Morroco!! Thanks
A long drive from Fez but with plenty of comfort stops along the way, including a stop to see the Barbary Apes in the mid Atlas. Well worth the trip. An excellent mini adventure.
Feeding the monkeys on the way. The camel ride to watch the sunset and the camp fire with music. The staff were very helpful. We had a great time. It would be nice if in the winter there was some form of heating in the tent. Very very cold
Our two days trip in the desert couldn’t be better. Merzouga is one of a kind place and the desert itself leaves you speechless for its majesty and beauty. Playing dejambe with the berber guys under the best night sky of our lives was unique. The trip was long but the minivan was comfortable and the driver, Mustafa, was just perfect. He drove us safely and always had a joke ready to shoot. He even stopped and bought us the best dates of our lives! Thank you Mustafa, you’re great even if we will never be able to eat a date again in Italy… they were just too good! Dave&Chiara
it was well organized and great fun. hachaim knew a lot about the area and the place to sleep was very comfortable. riding a dromedary was also a lot of fun.
The landscapes was really amazing, especially Atlas Mountains! The desert, and the camel ride was amazing!
Every time I thought we couldn’t fit more into the tour, more stuff happened. Learned and saw so much! When there weren’t monkeys on the Sunday on our way up to the desert, our driver made a special stop to see them coming back on Monday - I’m very thankful for that because they were the highlight of my time in Morocco. The camping accommodations are much better than I imagined, and the food was great - bring snacks if you are used to big portions though, some of the other travellers we were there with were a little hungry. Climbing the sand dunes is also very hard work; I have asthma and had to take it very slow. If you would struggle walking up several flights of stairs, don’t dawdle are the base of the dunes because the view at the top is 100% worth all the effort of getting up there and you can rest at the top. Would highly recommend this tour to everyone!
We had a private tour of the medina in Fès which was tailored to our needs. Our guide Adil was very accommodating as we wanted a historial and cultural tour, not a shopping trip. He spoke excellent English, was very friendly and very knowledgable about the medina. We were never rushed or under any time pressure at all. The medina is a labyrinth, therefore we would highly recommend a guide especially Adil on your first day.
I had a great time on my 2-day/1-night desert trip from Fès. Hassan was a great driver! Always punctual, friendly & informative. He offered to take me to the airport, to catch an early morning flight after the tour. He also offered to help recover my luggage after Casablanca airport lost my bag. Travelling solo, I was given a private-tour in a 4x4, with only one other traveller. Communication prior to the trip was great. Imane responded to all my questions in a quick and courteous manner. That wasn't the case with some of the other tour providers I was corresponding with, so I'm thoroughly glad I went with this company in the end. A word to the wise, camel rides can be bumpy and walking up sand-dunes is a great workout for your calves, if you're into that sort of thing. Definitely worth it for the sunset views over Erg Chebbi!
This was such a wonderful trip. Upon arrival we spent got on a camel and watched the sunset before arriving to our camp. The people were so friendly and the food was great. We also got some time to watch the stars in the beautiful sky after listening to music by the fire. I only did it for one night but I really wish I would have done a longer trip. Book it!
Vey good trip, lots of information during the trip, good drivers. Seen a lot and staying in the desert overnight was amazing.
Hassan wad a great guide and driver, he had a lot of knowledge about everything we saw and facilitated good meals as well. The camp and camel ride was lovely as well. I wish we could have spent more time on the camel, but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and so worth it!
Thus trip was the highlight of our stay in Morocco. The driver Hassan was very polite and friendly. He would stop everywhere we wanted. He also helped us buy some dates, and got us a great price. The desert was magical.
We left from Fes, the desert camp is beautiful, the driver was excellent, the staff and food at the camp were the best, then they took us to Marrakech. Without a doubt I recommend it, it was an unforgettable experience.
It was a beautiful experience, the beautiful scenery, the walk on the camel , the night in the camp in the desert were unforgettable. However we were disappointed by the support. In the description we were told about a professional guide and this was not the case. One sentence per stop and that was the maximum. For a trip from 8am to 6pm we waited for a minimum of explanations and information. We got zero. In this case it will be better to write that it is simple transfer and not an experience. The attendant himself said that he is not a guide at all and he is there to accompany the driver. This is not at all what was sold to us on the site. Too bad.
We stayed 2 days/1 night from Fez to the Merzouga Desert with a return to Fez. The experience is absolutely magical. The trip is long (8h one way) but the breaks and dynamics of the group made it much more animated and short. The minibus is comfortable, with USB plugs and good seats to make the road. Aziz is a very good driver, careful, careful and friendly. Mustapha is very good advice, honest and friendly. Having them with us during the trip made it all the more pleasant. We were very well surrounded, guided and accompanied, we did not feel lost or in danger at one moment. The camel ride in the desert is out of time, we had a very attentive guide, anxious that we take full advantage of our experience. Once arrived on site, comfortable tents await you as well as a beautiful camp with attentive staff on site. The evening meal was hearty and good and the show around the fire very exotic, we even had the opportunity to play Tam Tam (which is harder than it looks!) Small downside for the organization the next day with sandboards where the progress of the activity was not precise enough to our taste. But otherwise, extremely satisfied with the experience, which is unforgettable and to do at least once in a lifetime! I recommend without hesitation and with my eyes closed this activity in the company of Mustapha, Aziz and Aomar (who was only there on the return)
Magnificent trip with the 3T company, the camp was superb, the walks too, and the guide Hassan was top notch and made our trip even better.
El paseo en camello y la tormenta de arena a la noche y por eso los chicos de la tienda improvisaron el espectáculo de fuego, música y danza adentro, pero estuvo lindo igual. Es un poco largo el viaje desde Fes pero vale la pena
One of the most beautiful trips I have had in my already long life. Halyard is a Driver and a remarkable guide. The night spent in Merzouga under the tent, the camel ride and the sunset over the dunes are all unforgettable memories Thank you Driss
We did the private excursion with Ali, a great professional. We loved it. We will surely repeat. Thank you, Ali
Three of us went with Ali to the desert, he was very kind and attentive at all times, he explained to us and showed us places during the journey. We have been delighted, highly recommended.
Soufiane our driver was of great professionalism and a really pleasant courtesy. If we were to recommend this tour it would be largely thanks to Soufiane Thank you.
I booked the tour through Get your guide and the provider was 3T Travel tours. I think the price was expensive compared to what I would have found directly in destination but... it was worth it. We left Fez for the Merzouga desert. Along the way they made stops (Ifrane for coffee and little else, to eat, photos in a kind of viewpoint...). After about 8 hours you reach a meeting point already at the desert gates where you are picked up with a 4x4 and go to a place where the camels are. Camel ride, spectacular sunset on the dunes of Erg Chebbi, sandboard and again camel to camp. We booked upgrade in the jaima and had heating (recommended in December). Simple and typical dinner and then drums around a bonfire, wonderful experience and the camp boys, very nice. We recommend going out to see the stars, it was spectacular. The next day we saw the sunrise, breakfast and back to Fez (with a couple of stops) you visit Rissani. It is a town that is very worth visiting its market, donkey parking, walking around its medina... I didn’t like that on the visit to Rissani there were too many shopping stops in shops, but the guide (Ibrahim) made it special. I booked the excursion in Spanish for comfort and in the end, during the two days, it was a bit mixed with English. Still, absolutely recommended!
We liked the travel offer and the Service so much that we changed from the 2-day tour to a week-long tour of Morocco. The guide (best regards to Hachim!!) was and has been super committed and very flexible about our travel redesign. The car journey was very safe at all times with the crazy traffic. Hachim has always responded to our concerns (short stops, stops at ATMs, etc.). A really great guide and the tour is highly recommended! Continue all the best!
We come to congratulate Mohamed our driver, what a feat , travel these hundreds of km round trip with perfect control. At the small care of his passengers, Mohamed has a lot of talents and professionalism. Thanks and again Bravo.Michel and his daughter Aline.Good continuation...
The experience of spending a night in the desert is definitely exciting in itself and if it had been for the return trip to Fes I would have definitely made a better assessment! Unfortunately, the whole group got into difficulties because the driver spoke and understood only Arabic! For a journey that lasts eight hours it becomes a considerable inconvenience. Especially when we arrived in Fez, the driver in a hurry wanted to leave the entire group in the middle of the Médina, when instead he would have to take each of us back to their hotel which was perhaps far from the Médina. Besides, with the claim that we would take a taxi at our own expense! After kindly “protesting” this thing he somehow managed to make us understand, recharged the group in stain and accompanied us to our respective hotels. I advise the tour operator to use drivers who speak a little English to avoid negative feedback!
The best experience to go to the Desert! We're joined by Mohamed, the best driver we've ever had. Without telling him anything, he bought us water and noticed that we drank Coke and bought us two others. We explain very kindly everything we ask in an almost perfect Spanish! We would definitely repeat it and we would definitely go back to Mohamed.
