Fez: A Fescinating Private Tour

Absolutely a great tour medina tour with a knowledgeable great guide. A lesson in history, a good communicator, and very helpful. Highly recommend him when you visit Fes.

Excellent guide, speaks verry good english, we had headsets so we could hear the guide very well in the crowdy environment.

Abderrahim was the absolute best! He's a retired teacher and it shows. Not only was he a wealth of knowledge, but he was able to connect with the group in a funny, endearing way. This man is passionate about sharing knowledge. Would absolutely do another tour. He took us to a variety of spots and walked us through Fes while sharing the history of buildings and streets (that was also helpful to navigate the maze of the streets). Take this tour and do it early on in your visit so you can utilize his knowledge. At the end of the tour, he showed us a local spot to purchase spices (upon asking him) and shared expectations for prices of some items on our list.

Rahim was fantastic! Super knowledgeable, interesting and informative. A fine mixture of strong intellect and good humour, this made for a stand out experience. (Can’t say enough good things about Rahim!)

This tour was absolutely the highlight of our 4 days in Fes. Abdou was a delightful guide and you can tell he really enjoys his work! He made this tour not only fun but so educational! Once he told us the “secrets” of navigating the Medina, we were confident in getting around on our own. He went above and beyond and assisted us with purchasing a tea kettle and even leading us to the Restaurant Nejjarine since it’s a bit tricky to find for a first timer.

Abdou's tour was amazing. I absolutely loved how much information he packed into this 3 hour tour. The headset he provided all of us with was super helpful as it did become loud in some parts of the medina. Don't look any further and just book this tour with Abdou. You won't regret it!

Abdou was a great tour guide and encouraged us to ask any questions - whether they were about whatever we were seeing, people, customs, culture, etc. He kept a good pace and tour actually extended over the expected time and he did not mind. Walking around and seeing other tours, I was glad I had booked this one because: * group was small - only 6 of us * he had headphones for us, which made it easy to be able to hear him * English was excellent * great personality- he liked to joke with us * pace was great - did not feel rushed * while we stopped at a hamman and the tanneries, it was a short stop (only 15 min at the tanneries compared to others) Would strongly recommend booking with him

This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to Fes. The guide was so informative and a fantastic storyteller! He took us through over 1,000 years of history in just 3hrs. We saw all the main parts of the medina an learnt so much about the culture and the city. I absolutely recommend this 100%!!

My wife and I Highly recommend this well-organized city tour with Abdourahim. We started on the outskirts of the Medina and walked inward, exploring the vast history of the city of Fes. Abdourahim was a professor by profession and he has a keen ability to relay just the right amount of information. When you start the tour he gives you an ear phone and communicates wirelessly via this device so that you can look around you while also absorbing his factoids about the city and culture of Fes. He also takes time to ask if anyone has questions or needs clarification about anything he said. He is a professional and sensitive to the groups needs. For example my wife and I had already seen the tannery so he placed us in a restaurant nearby to wait and relax and then came to pick us back up into the tour. He also kept the group together especially during the busy afternoon hours in crowded medina streets. Don’t hesitate to book with Abdourahim, it was pleasure getting to know him and having a nice group to go on this walking tour.

I learned a lot from Rahim in this tour. He’s such a nice guy and knows everyone in this historical city. He won’t take you to any shops unless you want to. You will miss a lot about Fes if you miss this tour!

Abderrahime was an amazing tour guide - one of the best tour guides we've ever had, and we've had many in our travels. Not only did he speak perfect English, but he was extremely knowledgeable about Fez and Morocco, and he was able to answer any and all questions directed his way. We felt as if we were transported back in time, so vivid were his descriptions. Our remaining time in Fez and Morocco will be much richer for having been on his incredible guided walking tour.

We wanted to explore Fes first through a tour to find our way around the Medina. The tour did not disappoint! Abdou showed us around the Medina and we received a lot of information about the city and also visited many places. It gave us a good direction on where to go in the souks. Also great that we got headphones so we could listen to Abdou even when we were walking! We can only recommend joining the tour! Wow! This tour was incredible. We took this tour on the one rainy day That Morocco has had in two years, and our tour guide was so flexible and helped us make the most out of a rainy day. It truly felt as though a close friend or family member was giving you a tour of their hometown. I would highly recommend this tour. My parents are in their late 60s and had an easy time maneuvering throughout the day and the group would even wait for us sometimes as well. We joined this group tour and were not disappointed. Abderahim was so professional and organised. As we were 8 in the group, he provided us with an audio system he used to talk to us during the tour, which was very helpful especially in noisy and crowded streets. A lot of information about the history, culture, traditions and architecture. Strongly recommended.

The tour was brought in a very interesting way. The guide knew a lot of details and was funny. We enjoyed the tour.

After arriving in Fes, I felt completely lost. This tour helped me understand where I was walking, how to walk around the Medina and even pointing out places that I wouldn’t have noticed if it wasn’t for Abdul. He gives you a little bit of history, combined with interesting facts and also tips on what to do, where to go etc. Thank you so much for our lovely guided tour, I absolutely loved it, I’m sure I wouldn’t have enjoyed Fes as much of it wasn’t for this tour.

This was a great tour. Abderrhamine knows all there is to know about the history and culture of the medina, but doesn't recite dry facts. He tells stories, has a great sense of humour--and he makes sure you are having a good time. His wireless microphone and headsets are a great way to make sure you don't miss a word, even if you are some paces behind taking pictures. Highly recommended.

I stumbled upon Abdou by chance while on my way to walk by myself in the medina. Somehow I had a very good feeling and decided to join his tour. With him and 3 other people we went back in time and explored nearly 1000 years of History. It was amazing, Abdou is so knowledgeable about the history and culture of the region. I'm always afraid that some tours end up being there to bring tourists to shops so you buy souvenirs but it didn't happen once on this tour, it was 100% focused on the cultural and historical side of Fes. Moreover this tour really helped me navigating through the maze of the medina by myself the following days Abdou's English is flawless and from time to time he would excuse himself as he was answering to questions texted by some tourists from the tour the day before. I had the most remarkable guided tour in Fez with Abderrahime. He is very friendly and highly competent. He gave us lots of historical and cultural information about the city, and was more than happy to answer all of our questions. After reading through reviews of other tour guides in Fes, we settled on booking Mr. AbdulRahim for our tour; and let me tell you - HE IS AMAZING. Starting from the beginning, we a got a bit a lost heading to the Blue Gate, and Mr. AbdulRahim kindly waited for us to arrive. He has extensive knowledge about the city and had answers to every question we had. I read other guides take tourists to stores as a “tour” but this was not the case. He is very passionate about teaching the history of his city. He’s a very sweet and kind man who took us to all the key sites in the Médina; plus more. He is also fluent in English. I would highly highly recommend him to anyone who is visiting Fes. I definitely will be sharing his contact information with anyone I know who is visiting Fes. 10 out of 10 stars!!!

今回閑散期だったこともあり参加が私1人でプライベートツアーとなってしまいました。ガイドさんからこの場所が何世紀に建てられた地域だとか、窓の特徴、門の特徴、通りのマークの形状による意味等色々教えてもらって本当に参加して良かったと思います。フェズのメディナは初めてだとどこにいるか検討がつかず効率よく見て回るにはガイドさんが必要だと思いました。

La passione per l'insegnamento e per il suo lavoro della nostra guida, Abdou Rahim, è evidente e traspare da come accompagna i turisti nel viaggio nella medina di Fes. L'esperienza è stata interessantissima e le ore sono davvero volate. Consiglio davvero caldamente a tutti di partecipare a questo tour. Qualcuno nei commenti si lamenta delle soste ai negozi: sono solo due, una in un negozio di tessitori e una in uno di prodotti in pelle. In entrambi i casi i negozianti sono stati estremamente gentili e disponibili, e non fanno pressione per acquistare nulla. In compenso spiegano le basi del loro lavoro e gli attrezzi utilizzati, mi è sembrato interessante. Ulteriore vantaggio, da non trascurare: molti negozianti della medina e persone del luogo sanno essere veramente accaniti e fastidiosi, al punto che a volte diventa difficile dare un'occhiata ai negozi o solo passare per le viuzze senza essere quasi aggrediti. Con la guida vi degneranno a malapena di uno sguardo, rendendo la passeggiata decisamente più rilassante.
