We walked around the medina a lot but pretty much everywhere we went was a place to buy stuff obviously the tour or guide gets a cut otherwise I don’t see why, the tanning place especially they were very pushy to buy something and followed you around the whole time

This was among one of the best tour experiences we had. It was very informative about the history and craftsmanship of the people.
Mohcine was our guide for the day and we really enjoyed our time with him. As a former teacher, he had an excellent way of conveying information and making sure we understood it. But beyond the basics, we had some engaging and philosophical conversations, especially related to comparative religions. Mohcine seemed to be well known by others as evidenced by the number of people who came up to say hello to him and show us what they were doing at his request. He took us to a number of shops in the souk and, if there was any criticism, we probably spent too much time shopping and not enough time seeing the rest of the city (we only had time to do a drive by of the 14th Century Medina and Jewish Quarter). Having said that, we would gladly use Mohcine's services again.
MR KAMAL OUR TOUR GUIDE IS A KIND MAN WITH A LOT OF INFORMATION. WE HAD A lovely day with him. We visited many places in old town.
This was an excellent tour, ideal for a one day trip to Fes. We covered not only the ancient medina, with the mosques, madrasas, and the tannery, but also the separate medieval town, with the old Jewish Quarter. The guide was a native of the medina and was knowledgeable and informative. A busy day with lot of walking but well worth it
Very professional guide, we took a history, and cultural class! Explained everything very meticulously with a lot of passion. A real gem worth taking.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided ample information on the history of Fez and Medina. He was very patient and took us around.
We bought the full day private tour, guide arrived on time and we started. He walked at a nice slow pace was a good thing. The tour was a tourist trap. The guide took us to the Medina and started by showing us the market, then he took us to a fabric shop. We told him we did not want to go shopping but wanted to see the streets and so on but he insisted in taking us to hidden shop after shop. After 2 hours he said the tour was finish, when I said we payed a full day he then called the driver to take us to a few other places. We were 2 females and he constantly asked why we were not married. He was clearly puzzled by 2 women traveling without a man. I would not recommend this tour.
WOW! So much to see in Fes...everything from the old medina to the 'new city'. The passage ways are narrow and twisty. It was great to have a guide that gave a broad overview of the city and then details of the many nooks and crannies that we would have never found on our own. Larbi was a great guide with a lot of knowledge about the city, its history, current events and traditional artisan ways.
I had a wonderful experience from this tour that my guide Hakim who took me to different spots and explained to me each of its origin and history in details. We passed through different streets in the Medina and it’s just like a huge maze with more than 18000 shops inside. Really impressive heritage.
The conversations with Mohammed were so interesting and made living in Fez come to life. Understanding the various trades and having the opportunity to intersect and speak with several local craftsmen was extremely satisfying. The day had a nice mixture of well paced walking with an afternoon drive to more remote sites. Overall, it was a great experience
Incredible way to see Fez! Ahmad was an exceptional guide! He was very knowledgeable and personable! I would 100% recommend this for anyone trying to make the most of their time in Fez!
I had booked this tour with Mohammed and really enjoyed the tour. He was so patient as he herded 6 people who did speak each other's native language. It was a fun trip and really interesting experience learning about the Moroccan culture
This experience was everything I hoped for for my first time in a new city, and all because of our tour guide Ahmed. He was warm, welcoming, and his smile was infectious. I feel like we were able to see not just the most popular tourist spots, but also learn about and see what life is like for the locals as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see and learn everything this is to know about Fez. Wonderful experience from start to finish!
We enjoyed seeing all the major sights of Fes. Ikram was very knowledgeable and guided us through the narrow streets of Fes in a timely manner. He was patient with us while we shopped at stores along the way and was very kind to assist us with having our purchases delivered back to our hotel.
Mustafa was great, very knowledgeable about the city of Fez. We enjoyed our tour. He customized the tour based on our interests and even allowed a later start time since we were late to arriving to Fez.
We are very happy. Thanks to Oumaima for the organisation and Jamal, the guide. It was authentic visite, with museum, medersa, places, craftmen, famous tannery and views of Fès. And an authentic marocco lunch. Thank you so much !!!
Wow, what an amazing day I had with my guide Abdul! He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his city of Fez. Highly recommend this tour. Saw and experienced so many wonderful things.
The best way to see fez in one day. Our tour guide KAMAL he was best of the best , very informative and experienced guide.. the tour started at 10 exactly and finished at 7:00 pm .. it worth the money paid for it.. loved everything in the tour..
We recommend the tour with Kamal. He is really kind, funny and a pleasant company. We appreciated that he adjusted the tour based on what we wanted to see and he made sure we had a memorable day.
Ahmed was very good, he picked up from our Dar and enjoy the local approach from Fes. He and the driver Mohammed were so kind! Also Ahmed was very knowledgeable and made us to enjoy and learn the history of this wonderful city!
Had a terrific day out in Fez with our guide Ahmed. We enjoyed Ahmed's commentary and perspective. This tour is a must to appreciate Fez in a single day. The old Medina, the Royal palace and the old Jewish Quarter were the highlights. We highly recommend the tour and the tour guide Ahmed.
If you don’t have much time to spend in Fez but are still eager to discover what the city can offer, this tour is what you are looking for. My guide, born and raised in what is considered the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco, was very professional; he answered all my questions, showed me the best spots for pictures and never left my side. 100 % Recommended 👌🏻
Malik is an amazing tour guide. Very informative and willing to answer all of our questions even if they were not directly related to what we were seeing. He recommended a very good restaurant for our lunch and waited to take us back. Highly recommend his services!
Medina is historic and colorful Saw many shops: Meat, fruit and olive markets. Very interesting tour of ceramic, mosaics and metal works My favorite was tanning and leather
We had a great time in Fez with Kaamal, who was a fantastic host. He took us to the “crème-de-la-crème” of Fez, including a visit to the palace, the Jewish quarter, and some of the monuments and viewpoints outside the Medina. We visited a beautiful ceramics and mosaic factory as well. Kaamal took us to perhaps the most beautiful restaurant we have ever visited. Once inside the Medina, Kaamal showed us all the amazing sights and sounds of the alleyways. We visited local handicraft shops, the beautiful university, a few caravanserai, and an ancient Koran school. We are in love with this beautiful and vibrant city.
Great guide, beautiful city, great explanations, good food and shopping. A wonderful experience! Everyone in our family learnt so much. Thanks!
The history lessons were fantastic. Along with showing us the palace, tanneries, how they make cactus silk, bakeries, and schools. I would 100% recommend this experience
Although this review as a bit delayed, but I have to say that this experience was absolutely phenomenal. The gentleman that was accompanying us even kept my little nephew, entertain through the busy market of fez. We still have memorable moments from this experience.
Great tour. Fez is probably the best Medina in Morocco. The most authentic. Our guide was amazing lots of history lots of knowledge. Highly recommend!
We had a great 7 hour tour of Fez and the Medina with a private guide. We started by driving to various sites outside of the Medina. Having a driver bring us from point was efficient and the best way to do it. Some of the sites in Fez really only merit 5 - 10 minutes, so if we had taken a cab from spot to spot, hailing drivers all morning, it would have been a lot more trouble. Then we walked seemlessly through the Medina, with our guide pointing things out on the way, keeping us shielded from unsolicited hustlers and all those people who tried to "help" us when we walked around the day before alone. Over the course of the day we ticked off pretty much all the major sites listed in my Morocco guide book, which was great. We did stop at a number of artisan shops, but since I'm interested in craft heritage that was nice too. We felt no pressure to buy anything, and our guide whisked us away the second we were ready to go. We also saw the tanneries, which I think might have been stressful with more pressure to buy things and pay for a visit if we had not had the tour guide to bring us in and out. Finally, we had lunch in a restaurant (there was an option for street food too). The restaurant was full of tourists, but it was still really good. Clean and not overpriced compared to other Fez restaurants. Lunch was the last thing we did, so eat a big breakfast. Really, save yourself the stress and hassle and just book a guided tour of Fez. We finished the day tired but in a pleasantly satisfied mood.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended! His English was very good too. We had a good time.
Our guide was amazing and informative. He took us to see things that interested us. And was patient with me as I kept getting distracted, looking at all of the wonders around every turn😊
Excellent tour to familiarize yourself with Fes. Our guide, Kamal was prompt with pickup at our hotel and made sure that our group had a memorable experience. Highly recommend booking this tour for your visit to Fes.
Our tour guide, Kamal, (haha not Camel! 🐫) was very charismatic and helped us really get in touch with the locals. We didn't really know what we needed to see in Fez, and he crafted a great itinerary. We were able to see all of the local handicrafts and fully understand Fez's history and what it's known for. Kamal even helped negotiate good prices for the goods that we purchased while also showing us ways to test their quality (they were all genuinely great quality!). He was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the area's history, and we learned a lot while also laughing throughout. He was so friendly and we really got to know each other. We were with him for 7 hours, and it felt like the time flew by while also having enough time to fully see everything, take pictures, and shop. Our driver was also very professional, on time, safe, and the car ride was very comfortable. 10/10 recommend this duo!
Very complete tour, our guide was very nice and knowledgeable, I recommend highly this tour to know the city.
Our tour guide, Camel, was excellent! We had a separate driver who drove us to see how the mosaic tiles were made. I'm glad Camel recommended that stop in addition to the medina. We saw so many different artisans and artists in the medina and the tanneries were a real highlight. I would definitely recommend Camel who was extremely knowledgeable and made our tour very special!
This tour is amazing, our tour guide Ahmed was truly exceptional. He seemed to know the whole medina and the locals and treated us like his own family. We got an in depth understanding of the history of Fez. Would highly recommend this tour! Thanks Ahmed for being such a great host!
Tour guide is very knowledgeable. This is a must thing to do in Fez. You will be lost without the guide. You will see Fez sides, market, and it will give you experience that you will never forget. Tour operator is very responsive. I recommend this tour to everyone going to Fez.
Mohammed was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. Felt like family. Learned a lot and will definitely be back. I look forward to seeing my friend the next time I visit, انشالله.
A great day with Kamal! He took us to all the great places. His more like a knowledgeable friend than just a tour guide. He knows so much about the city and is eager to talk about the history. Highly recommend!
I hired a private tour and it was amazing. Mohammed Boufalja took me to a lot of wonderful places. We walked 20,000 steps. I realy loved this tour.
Positive points: - Excellent guide! Saïd showed a broad knowledge about his city and shared it with us answering all the questions we asked him. He made our tour really fun and we learnt a lot! - The guide focused on what we asked him (more visits and less shopping). He just showed us some cooperatives that were very interesting as part of Fez’s culture and where we didn’t feel harassed to give tips or buy anything. Negative points: - We were scammed at the restaurant (Le patio bleu) but it wasn’t our guide’s fault (Saïd gave us total freedom to choose a different restaurant if we wanted). -Many of the attractions included in the agenda were closed. Our guide followed the planning but we often found a closed door. The agency should update the itinerary. Despite the negative point we definetly recommend this tour (specially with Saïd!) as it is very easy to miss many of the Fez’s hidden treasures.
We started the tour at 9h30 am and ended at around 3 pm, we visited the most important/known locations of Fes. We went to/did: potery cooperative, panoramic places, Royal Palace from outside, walking around the medina including not very touristic roads, leather factory, spices shop and mosque from outside. Expect to buy a lot of stuff into that: the guide brings you to authentic manufacturers and hence it's very tempting to bring something with you! The guide Youssef was incredibly interesting and open to answer any questions we had. We therefore totally recommend this tour, absolutely worth it to discover Fes!
Fantastic tour. Guide was wonderful with 6 kids, keeping them interested and answering all questions.
Ahmed made our whole experience amazing. He was so welcoming (all the Moroccans are!) and informative. We really appreciated that he also helped us guage good prices when shopping and gave us a great lunch recommendation. It was nice to see how local he was. When we were walking around, everyone was saying hi to him so you know you're in good hands! If you ever go on this tour - ask for Ahmed!
Such a lovely day touring around the city of Fez with Hakim. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and country. He was friendly and kind. It was a nice mix of walking through the Medina and also the car ride to see the city from other points of view. We got to see so much and enjoyed the whole experience!
Very slow paced tour, and lots of opportunity to pictures and shop during your tour. The tour guide, a perfect gentleman Mr Said...he entertained our lil 2 year old too He had good spoken English and very good knowledge of the history of Fes. Said didn't interfere at all in our shopping and let us choose where we wanted to shop , also gave us tip to bargain a lot and said that's a part of the culture. Fes is much more beautiful and clean than Marrakech, and has its own flavour. Said refused to take a tip at the end and said .most important for him was our satisfaction. Absolute gem on tourism.. You don't get such people easily. I will definitely recommend the tour , it's cheaper than a few other and 3t travel were very approachable.
Amazing tour! Adil was incredibly knowledgeable about Fes. We learned so much about the history of the city, the architecture, the cultures and customs of different communities in Fes, and about the handicrafts that Fes is famous for. He gave recommendations for things to see but let us chose based on our interests. We felt no pressure at all from Adil to stick to a rigid itinerary or to buy things from the co-ops or souks. Adil actually helped stop other people from harassing us to buy things. We really felt like we saw the whole city in one day, which we could not have done on our own. The tour was 100% worth it. Overall a really great experience. Highly recommend!
Fez can be a really cool and city but it can overwhelmingly big and stressful and without a guide you may get lost 100 times and miss a lot of interesting things. Hakim was a very professional and cool guide. As tourism is low these days due to covid, he personalized the route and took us to all the important places and explained to us all the history and everything. With Hakim we enjoyed the guide at our rythm and also let us time to shop, took us to authentic artesan places and gave us advice about the quality of the stuff. Finally we took a ride included in the guide to see the views and a brief of the Mellah. To end, he let us at the riad. I recommend it very much and we loved Hakim! :)
