We had a great and very comprehensive tour of the Fes Medina Circuit with Moroccomfort today. Our guide Zakaria was outstanding! He is very knowledgeable, articulate, caring and responsive. Plus, he added several unique and special experiences. The tour operator is great and personally made sure our pick-up and drop-off went smoothly. We highly recommend this company if you are wanting a great experience in Fes.

The structure is a triple-arched gate that makes use of Moorish architectural forms, with pointed horseshoe arches and a crenelated top. Both the inner and outer facades are covered in polychrome tiles featuring arabesques and Moroccan geometric motifs, with the outer facade predominantly blue and the interior facade predominantly green-ish. Strangely, the actual doors of the gate seem to close and lock from the outside; perhaps an indication that the French administration saw it partly as a means of controlling the movement of the inhabitants inside the medina
Dar Batha Museum is located in the heart of the medina, opposite the beautiful Bou Inania. Before becoming a museum in 1915, the building was a beautiful palace of Arab-Andalusian style, built by Moulay el Hassan in the late nineteenth century. This museum is full of treasures that reflect the traditional art of Fez and its region. On the menu: carved wood, embroidery, zellige, wrought iron, jewelry, coins, carpets …The wealth of Fassi craftsmanship is stunning!
The name Bou Inania comes from the first part of the sultan's name Abou Inan. The madrasa functioned both as an educational institute and as a congregational mosque. This is the only madrasa in Fes with a minaret.[2][3] Opposite the main doorway of the madrasa is the entrance to the dar al-wuḍūʾ (ablutions house) for washing limbs and face before prayers. Left and right of the central court there are classrooms.According to history, religious leaders of the Karaouine Mosque advised Abu Inan Faris to build this madrasa. It was the last madrasa to be built by the Marinids. The madrasa became one of the most important religious institutions of Fes and Morocco, and gained the status of Grand Mosque. The madrasa was renovated in the 18th century. During the reign of Sultan Mulay Sliman, entire sections were reconstructed. In the 20th century, major restoration work was performed on the load-bearing structure, the plaster, wood and tiled decorations with Islamic geometric patterns.
Fondouk el-Nejjarine is one of the best known buildings in Fez , Morocco . This fondouk or caravanserai was declared a national monument in 1916 and listed as a World Heritage of Unesco .The three floors currently house the Wood Museum.
The Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II is a zawiya (a shrine and religious complex; also spelled zaouia) in Fez, Morocco. It is dedicated to and contains the tomb of Idris II (or Moulay Idris II when including his sharifian title), who ruled Morocco from 807 to 828 and is considered the main founder of the city of Fes and of the first Moroccan Islamic state. The UNESCO-listed old medina of Fez, and is considered one of the holiest shrines in Morocco.
It is the oldest existing, continually operating higher educational institution in the world according to UNESCO and Guinness World Records[5][6] and is occasionally referred to as the oldest university by scholars.
Fes’ tanneries consist of several stone vessels that are filled with a range of natural dyes and various liquids. Dozens of men are often in and out of standing waist deep in the vessels, working under the hot Moroccan sun to prepare the animals hides soaking in each vessel. The tanneries work with a variety of different hides from cows, sheep, goat and camel, and turn them into the beautiful leather products you see lining the streets of Fes.
Andalusian Mosque is a mosque in Fes el Bali, the old medina quarter of the city of Fez, Morocco. The mosque dates back to the inception of the city in the 9th century, with the completion of the initial foundation in 859-860. This makes it one of the oldest mosques in the world. The mosque had been renovated and expanded several times since then. Today, it is one of the relatively few remaining Idrisid-era establishments and the main landmarks of the city.

As first-time visitors we were a little nervous, but Moroccomfort made us feel at ease instantly. Great organization, friendly guide, and a memorable day in Fez
We felt completely taken care of during the tour. Moroccomfort’s team is professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Exploring the Fez medina can be confusing, but with them it became a smooth and exciting journey.
Exploring Fez with Moroccomfort was unforgettable. The medina is huge and confusing, but with the guide’s expertise we felt completely at ease. We visited authentic markets, learned about Moroccan traditions, and saw places we never could have on our own.
This was hands down the best Fez tour we booked. Moroccomfort made it easy, stress-free, and fun. The walking tour through the medina was full of hidden gems, local shops, and amazing historical details. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Morocco.
The Fes Medina Circuit with Moroccomfort was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the history of the old city come alive. It felt like we stepped into another world while still being guided with comfort and care.
The walking tour with Moroccomfort was the highlight of our trip to Fez. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took us through both the famous landmarks and the hidden corners of the medina that we would have never found on our own. It felt safe, well-organized, and very authentic. Highly recommended!
This was one of the best guided tours I’ve ever taken! Moroccomfort’s team went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable at all times. From the fascinating stories about the Medina to the spontaneous tea break with a great view, everything was perfect. I’d definitely book with them again.
Moroccomfort gave us an amazing experience in Fez! Our guide was not only knowledgeable about the history and culture, but also incredibly friendly and patient. He adapted the tour to our interests, even taking us to hidden spots we’d never have found ourselves. I left with so many beautiful memories and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Fez.
Beautiful experience! Guide was kind and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to discover this authentic piece of Morocco. Came home with great thoughts! Thanks a lot.
Amazing tour ! I highly recommend booking through this company. The guide was super knowledgeable & very accommodating. I really had a good time.
This was a fantastic experience which left us group of friends extremely satisfied. Our guide was super interesting to listen to as he knew a lot of fun facts and historical noteworthy points. We asked him tons of questions and he answered pretty much everything. 100% recommended.
I took my family here and it was incredibly well organized. The guide made sure that my little kids were very happy, and made sure to keep us together as a family. Incredibly organized by the guide he gave us all the sights to see and made sure to tell us an accurate pricing for all the different items in the market. Loved it and can’t wait to come back and recommend this tour to everyone I know !!!!
Very well planned. If you want to have a treu inside of Morocco’s culture you should take this tour. It was great with my friends during this trip!
Had a great experience in the tour from Marrakesh to Merzuga. Badar was a great driver that showed us everything worth seeing on the way. I highly recommend doing this desert trip as it is one of the best experiences I have had!
This is an absolute must in Fes! Highly recommended!! It was a truly incredible experience. I have done a lot of tours around the world, but this was without a doubt my best experience. From the first moment it became clear that our guide had unique insights about the city of Fes. He took us to all the best places and we had fantastic experience. The guide was extremely friendly and made our experience truly special. Yayha ensured a seamless experience from the moment we booked until we were back at the hotel. At the hotel, I spoke to other people who did similar tours with other operators. They did not see nearly as much as we did, so if you are going to Fes, you need to choose this company!
The accommodations were comfortable and clean, and we felt safe and secure throughout the trip. recommended
Rachid was an excellent guide who was knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to answer our questions.
The tour was well-organized, and we were able to see all the beautiful sights and experience the culture of Morocco.
I recently went on the Fes Medina Circuit (All comfort) trip with Moroccomfort and Rachid and had an amazing experience.
Karim was a very nice tour guide, he picked me up in time and he took me many places and waited for me if I wanted to buy some things. I visited the wood museum and learned from a weaver/tailor how to properly do my hair with a scarf. I learned about the different tapestry styles and saw the leather tannery. It was a fun day and I felt safe throughout the whole trip.
Again with this tour, I was fascinated by the beauty of Morocco and the history it offers. The narrow streets of Fes are beautiful and each one of them has a different theme and story which I liked a lot. Concerning the tour, it was all good and the guide was very good and could explain to me some things in Portuguese when I was struggling with some terms so I have nothing bad to say.
Chouara tannery is actually my best memory from this tour and I could take wonderful pictures from the top of a riad where the guide Mohammed exclusively took us to apparently. The tour was long enough so we had some nice breaks at many steps of the walk, we drank tea and tasted some good food.
Fes is in my opinion one of the most interesting cities in Morocco. I could walk during the tour some very special streets that reflect the moroccan spirit we hear about. Also the guide told me very deep stories and could even make the paradox with the history in Italy which I found so impressive and it put me even more into it. The tour lasted a long time, it was a little bit tiring but it was nice all along.
As we were getting deeper in the medina the tour was getting more interesting and so it was really nice. The guide Rachid, was a super interesting guy, a nice english and I was impressed by the little polish he knew too. The tour was as described an lasted 5 hours so it was definitely worth it especially when I think about all the people that approach you when you're with no guide.
Very nice experience in Fes. I had a very good time walking the tight streets of the old medina and I would say it was even walking there that I felt the culture shock the most. Definitely a great experience and the tour was perfect as I was imaging it.
I really had fun while visiting Fes and this is also thanks to Moroccomfort tour that provided me with all good trip needs. Thank you!
I would like to start my review by thanking Mohammed, my guide during this tour. Man was very friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. He showed real passion about his city and could answer all my questions.
The tour was exactly like it was described and I have seen all the attractions luckily because referring to the guide sometimes some attractions are closed. I liked the old city very much, I think it's one of the best morocco historical heritages. I think being with a guide was necessary to visit the old city and indeed this one was very friendly and offered us a great experience.
The company was very flexible since we could change the starting hour of the tour about half an hour before the initial time. The guide spoke fluent english and could answer all our questions. During the tour we asked the guide o take us to a place with a very nice view to drink tea which he accepted with a big smile even though it was out of the tour we booked. Overall I think we were very well treated !
We got a huge discount on tripadvisor because probably of Covid and very few tourists. Our tour guide spoke excellent english and did share some intresting facts about life in the city. Also it was good to have a kind of a "shield" because suddenly all the shopkeapers left us in peace an we could move around undistrupted. I apreciated that we could see the old tannery without any problems. (After we went back later we saw that there are really a lot of "wannabe guides" who won't leave you alone. Sadly we barely visited some of the above mentioned cultural attractions, also did our guide not tell about their history, it was more of a shopping trip through various types of shops. I have to say the shopkeapers were indeed not pushy at all. Also the trip ended after 3 hours, stated are 4-6 in the description. All-in-all the tour was acceptable for the low price, but if we would have paid for the original sum we would be very dissapointed. We had better tours in Morocco.
From the gastronomy, to the amazing weather, the sun never hides in this country, and it all added up with the amazing job of Moroccomfort tour , who helped us get to know every corner of the mystical city of Fes, very thoroughly
What a wonderful authentic experience wandering the Médina of Fes. Simo was an outstanding truly local guide. Highlights were the the Tannery, where I purchased the most lovely camel leather cushion...and more an experience because I got to see the whole washing, drying, dyeing process. I would highly recommend this walking tour to get away from the safe touristy outskirts of the Médina and delve into the heart and culture of Fes. A perfect way to spend the day in Fes. Thanks for everything!
We had a really great day, I would highly recommend everyone to go with Simo, he is just the guide you wish to have for a whole day trip. I learned alot ,while having so much fun. I must say that he has been the best guide I ever had. He went beyond what I expected. I even cancelled the next day tour and asked him to take me where I was planning to go following day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
We contacted Mohamed to craft the perfect tour to get as much as we could out of our limited time in Morocco and he worked with us carefully to make the experience perfect! We felt like family from the very beginning! we will go back to explore more and refer all of our friends and family to them! You will see places that you’ve never imagine, in all the tour was excellent!!
First of all let me make it clear, I mostly I never leave reviews after taking tours, but yet this time it’s different. I booked a last-minute trip to Fes and had only one day to get to know the spiritual capital of Morocco, so I booked a guided tour. I am a solo traveller and don’t really like tours but my whole idea about that changed. The tour guide Said was exceptional, very knowledgeable, funny, understanding and helpful. It was clear that he has extensive experience and knowledge of the Fez Medina. Very enjoyable, would recommend highly to everyone
One of the best cities i have ever seen in my life! Incredibly artistic and amazingly modest. Historically speaking, Fes is a very rich city and, by the way, Simo was generous telling us every single detail about the area, its people, and its culture. It was really cool wandering with a guide with such a sense of humour in such a beautiful city, good vibes only. I honestly miss the place. highly recommended
I had a fantastic all day tour with Simo, he was very knowledgeable, great fun to be with, and he spoke excellent English. I am in my sixties and traveling solo on this visit, so I especially appreciated that he me at my hotel. The guide took me to the Fortress overlook, the Jewish quarter and the ceramic cooperative ( must see) before heading into the Medina. He did not hesitate at every turn through the maze, and he taught me a lot about the oldest university, the decorative arts, and the history of the Medina/ and Fes in its role as crossroad between Europe and Africa. I can recommend Simo strongly, he has a great smile and is a fount of knowledge.”
We had a fantastic wandering day with Mohamed. He was very informative and helpful throughout our stay in Fez. He took us to many places that would not be easy to find and we had the opportunity to speak with authentic artisans in the Medina. I’ve been on many tours but this one with Mohamed was by far one of the best! We really felt so welcomed into the Medina. Such a great experience !!
Fez is an amazing city, and Mohamed is the best guide I've ever seen, very funny and knows a lot about Fez. The tour was awesome, their culture, food, clothes, everything was extraordinary. God I wish I could be there again! We were also taken to the best shops and restaurants in the Medina, that made us feel comfortable despite the hustle and bustle of the city. I really do recommend this tour if you're willing to visit Fez. I'm sure you'll enjoy!
We loved our tour with Mohamed. He is a smart and funny guy, also a very knowledgeable and cultivated guide. He seemed very enthusiastic about sharing everything he knew about Morocco and Fez. Besides, we were taken to places with the cheapest prices and the highest qualities, food, clothes, accessories...everything desired. We really had fun hanging around with a guide with that sense of humour, he made my day.Highly recommended!
My wife and I loved fescomfort tour. Our tour guide, Mohamed, was genuinely passionate about both his country's rich history and culture and about sharing it with his guests. He made the tour a truly enjoyable experience for us.
Esperienza bellissima, molto autentica e super consigliata per l’esplorazione della meravigliosa Medina Di Fes El Bali
I feel very lucky to have fallen on such a correct lap and I limit myself to say such a perfect lap. Frankly, the guide was super friendly and he managed to convey his passion for the city to me.
The tour covered several tourist attractions, I really feel like I saw everything because we walked a lot. The guide Rachid had very good French and throughout the tour he was smiling and helpful. I discovered this city through this tour in joy and good humor and so I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the ancient medina of Fes.
I add Fez to the list of cities I would revisit and this tour was partly one of the reasons why I love the city (I'm talking about the old medina). I highly recommend visiting this vile as it is simply rich in history and culture and I confirm that this tour is a very good idea to do so. Personally, my guide Mohammed was very friendly and you could see that he knew the history of the city very well.
I had had several echoes about Fes and so it was very important for me to visit the city. As recommended I started looking for a guide and moroccomfort seemed to offer me a complete tour. Finally, I wasn't wrong about my choice. The tour was superb, the guide Rachif treated me and my girlfriend very carefully. We felt safe in his presence and he really made us love the city.
