My experience on the Cultural Tour of the Medina in Fez was truly unforgettable! From the moment we were picked up by our driver, everything was seamless and comfortable. Our local guide was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing the rich history and hidden stories of the Medina. We explored the bustling markets, historic mosques, and beautiful artisan workshops – all while gaining a deep understanding of Fez’s cultural heritage. The guide's insights made each stop meaningful, and he had great tips for experiencing the Medina authentically. Our driver was professional and made navigating the area easy and stress-free. This tour is a must-do for anyone wanting a genuine and insightful experience of Fez. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time in Fes with Otmane our driver. He was so knowledgeable and fantastic. We did a tour of the medina, we went to Meknes and Ifrane in the mountains. We also used the company for our airport transfers. They were all very professional and helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend using them for your trip to Morocco
The guide picked up and dropped us from our Riad. All the time concern about us, and gave us time to see everything. The guide was very knowledgeable about all the Fez history.
Our guide (Rahid) was fantastic, he spoke fluent spanish and english so we felt very comfortable. He was very relaxed, professional and knowledgeable. The walking tour of the Qissaria Al-Kifah was amazing, also the visit to the University and the fantastic ceramic Art D'Argile. All the artist and their amazing creations. It was a day full of great discoveries, we also had time for a relaxed lunch. I absolutely recommend this tour, it would be impossible to navigate the city without a guide. We also had a driver take us to the further attractions. 5 stars!!
We were picked up and dropped by our guide and driver from our Riad. The guide was very knowledgeable and patient with us. He was also very sensitive to the fact that we were vegetarians we enjoyed touring Fes
We had a fabulous tour, we saw so much in just 6 hours! The tour guide, Rashid, was truly wonderful, so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Fes and so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this tour. It was comfortable, interesting and very cool!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Morocco Fez Tours. We got an in depth look into SO MANY different aspects of the culture in Fez, from leather making, metal working, fabric weaving, and rug making to a detailed visit to a hammam (local spa). We really enjoyed the lunch with the local family—Sufyan and his family were incredibly warm, generous, and offered delicious local foods! Even though we are vegetarian, the cuisine they served was full of flavor and variety. Our tour guide, Khalid, was very patient and answered all of our questions. He spoke English very well and was very detailed in his explanations of Fez mosques, universities, traditional inns, and daily life. When he could, he handed us off to a local expert to explain how Fez products were made (like a UNESCO metal working shop). Unlike many tours that we’d heard of from friends, we were never pressured to buy anything. In fact, artisans specified that they showed their products to us to add to our educational experience, not to sell them to us. We were very impressed by this tour, especially by the guides. Sufyan and Khalid were very welcoming—we hope every traveler gets to meet them as they are truly very special.
Great service, super friendly guide, ood insight into history and local culture. Strongly recommend to anyone.
We were picked up promptly by our guide Mohammed and our driver Aziz at our hotel. Both were delightful. The car was clean and we were provided with water bottles (and air conditioning!) Mohammed showed us the highlights of the city and tailored our stops to the things that we wanted to see and do. He helped us negotiate for some of our purchases as well and steered us in the right direction all day. They went out of their way to drop us off at our hamman appointment in a different part of the city and Aziz was kind enough to pick us up afterwards and drop us off at a fabulous restaurant, where he waited for us and then drove us back to our hotel. I recommend Mohammed and Aziz highly for a fabulous sightseeing (and shopping) day in Fez. It was a highlight to our trip.
Our group of 4 people hired this company for a tour of Fez We were given a guide and a driver and had an enjoyable time visiting the city We learned alot about the city and enjoyed visiting its many attractions
We booked a full day cultural tour of Fes through Viator and from the very beginning, our guide Moustafa as well as our lovely driver were absolutely amazing. A Fes native, Moustafa was full of information, knew all the best places to go, was attentive to all our needs, and warm and caring throughout. He also customized our tour to our interests. We could not have wished for a richer experience in Fes — if you are considering booking this tour, do not hesitate one more moment — go ahead and book right now!
My friend and I did the tour of Fez with Mostafa. We were picked up at the Fez train station where we had arrived from Casablanca. Our driver was a very competent driver and knowledgeable about the different streets in Fez; the car was air conditioned and had water bottles. They took us out to breakfast at a place where we had a great view of the city. Mostafa made sure to include any additional stops that we wanted to make in Fez. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the different buildings and proud of his heritage. I particularly liked the tour of the ceramic workshop and the tannery, where locals explained the processes for making ceramic pieces and leather. We went on a Friday so the city was pretty empty (because of Friday prayers), which means we were better able to focus on the historical and cultural aspects of Fez instead of shopping. But when I asked, Mostafa made sure to take us to a shop that sold the paint pigments I had been looking forward to buying. Overall a great tour, totally worth it!
We were very lucky - Mahmood spoke perfect English, was the perfect host, and took us everywhere. Even places that were not on the itinerary which we wanted to visit (the synagogue especially) he was more than happy to go out of his way to take us. The medina was brilliant, from the 8th century nothing has changed!) and we saw so much
It's a great experience to know Fez better (or the best), because it's hard to walk through Medina alone. Besides that, the guide took us to a great view from the city, to Jewish Quarter, Royal Palace, Medina and gave always good details of Fez history. You may find annoying a lot of sellers offering stuff to you, but it's part of Morocco too. We loved it!
I was looking forward to this tour, because of the reviews. However, my experience was a bit different. There was some confusion even tying to confirm the tour, before the allocated date and time. My guide almost didn't take me to certain sites that were listed on the itinerary, and he wasn't entirely aware of all the components of the tour. I found myself having to tell him which attraction was listed and already paid for. There was also contradicting information between my guide and other workers at the attractions we would go to. I often eavesdropped on other tours, and their guide had way more details and information. Nonetheless, I completed the tour with my guide. Despite the negatives, he was very nice and patient. He was also wiling and patient when it came to pictures. Overall, I felt the tour was lacking. I didn't feel like I learned much about Fes through this tour.
The duration of the tour was approximately 6 hours. At the beginning of the tour our guide, really focused on the historical information and sightseeing in Fez. He was knowledgeable and polite and answered all of our questions. The historic part of the tour endured around 2 hours ...then the shopping part started. Many unnecessary "commission" stops in places that we were not really interested. OK, I am familiar with that type of tours where the guide will choose a souvenir shop or a restaurant for some extra money, but in this tour there was an overdose of those stops. Yes, I learned a few things about Fez, but overall I think that I don't recommend this tour.
My husband and I booked the day tour on short notice (same day booking). Morocco Fez Tours were very accommodating and punctual. The tour was fantastic and I would highly recommend that this tour be done on your first or second day in Fez. It would give you better insight and perspective of the city and a deeper understanding of its rich history. Our tour guide - Mustafa was delightful, well versed, very fluent in English and we loved every minute of the tour with him. His passion for Fez shows throughout and you start to see the magic of Fez (A true window into the past). This was definitely the best part of our trip to Fez and would highly recommend using Morocco Fez Tours!!
Finding your way through the Fez medina is complicated at best. Without a guided tour, you're not likely to see much beyond the street stalls, so a guided tour is highly recommended. Although I enjoyed learning about the arts and crafts being produced in Fez, it felt a bit as I was being led from one place to another with the main purpose to try to get me to buy stuff.
We booked a last minute (morning for the same afternoon) 3h tour of the Old City. The agency was very reactive which is fantastic. However we had a disappointing experience with our guide. Although certified his historical knowledge seemed very limited and he hardly manage to answer a single question properly (we are not history geeks, just curious people), and I don’t think it was a language barrier. Also, although he probably didn’t mean to be that way, he was extremely patronizing, treating us like young children and repeating everything 5 times. So we didn’t learn anything on the day and having read a bit afterwards, his historical interpretation of the berber/islam encounter is rather fantasized and simply wrong. Good thing is he was very friendly and certainly knew his way around the Old City, but we expected a bit more than that :(
We really enjoyed our tour through the Fez Medina. Enjoyed working with this company who were very hospitable he even bought umbrellas for us as there was light rain . Our tour guide Moustapha was kind and extremely knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of history and helped us avoid being scammed by locals. He even made us try cactus fruit - it was delicious. Highly recommend the tour! Especially as it is very hard to navigate the Medina on your own’ Thank you very much Moustapha :)
We couldn't have navigated our first day in Fez without a local guide. The streets are like a maze and the entire city inside the medina is overwhelming and confusing when visiting for the first time. Our guide, Mohamed, did a nice job. He was punctual, relatively fluent in English, and knew the city well. We got a good overview of the city and were taken to the major sights. I would note that there are 5 co-ops on this tour: ceramic, argan oil/pharmacie, carpets, fabric weavers, and the tannery. Each one gives you a presentation on how the product is made, followed by a definite push to buy. We enjoyed the presentations because it is fascinating how ancient techniques are applied to make these products. If your goal is to see the sights and learn history (not shop), you really have to be firm and leave right after the presentation. However, if you do intend to buy handicrafts from Fez, this is a good opportunity but one needs to be cognizant of the time because even 30 minutes inside each one takes 2.5 hours out of the tour..
I don't even know where to begin with how impressed and blown away I was by this tour. I feel so lucky to have found it as there are truly many options. I was picked up at my Dar by the kindest man I've maybe ever met, Mostafa. He was so engaging, full of knowledge, and so wonderfully kind... he became like a brother to me by the end of the tour. We not only explored all the top cultural sights, but we had great conversations the entire time as well. I could not make a higher recommendation. It is a gem of an experience. As a solo traveler and a female, I felt so incredibly safe and respected and I learned so much about the city and culture there... book this tour!

A very good tour that touches on the highlights of Fez. Both driver and guide were excellent and accommodated all our requests. We recommend this tour.

Morocco Fez Tour and especially Soukaina did an outstanding job in helping us arrange our trip to Morocco. Soukaina was very patient with me as I changed my mind and itinerary several times. Everything was planned perfectly. Our special treat was having dinner with a local family.
It was very detailed and educational trip. Mohammed has over 30 years of experience with Fez and it shows. We saw the blue gate, tanneries and all the major sites one needs to see inside the medina. I recommend not doing the tour on Friday as most shops are closed. I am not much into shops so it was fine with us as Mohammed took us to multiple cooperatives to get good deals on leather, carpets etc. No matter what, definitely take a guide in the Medina. Its a maze (9500 streets).
We visited Morocco for our honeymoon in July 2018 and took the Fez Cultural Tour with Mohammed. He was an excellent tour guide and was really accommodating to what we wanted to do. We also used the same driver to take us to the airport the next day and it was really easy and convenient. We really enjoyed our time with Mohammed and would definitely recommend this tour!
We're kind lost in Moroco and then we met Mohamed by a friend in the train. He took our trip to another level, he know all the places at the medina and knows everybody and found an excellent Hiad inside the medina! We trully recomend this trip and the road trip do mid atlas.
Mohammed ben abdallah, our guide & now, excellent friend, knows Fes. He really knows Fes. And, being raised there, everything, everyone & every place in the Old Medina. Mohammed speaks four languages & is extraordinarily friendly & personable. A warm, gentle man who moves effortlessly through the 9000+ streets of Fes. He listened to our wants & met all our needs. We felt always in good hands Mohammed pick us up on time & dropped us off at our riad in the evenings. When we needed transportation, he made the arrangements. Our first morning took us on a tour outside the Old Medina walls. We began driving to see the city from above, then the King's Palace & the Jewish Quarter. Returning, inside the Medina walls, we experienced life as it is lived there & all the arts & crafts & foods & markets. Mohammed pointed out the smallest details to us which could have been overlooked so easily, like a harem window. He shared history & lore & we met his friends. Outside the walls, we went to the King's sister's park, strolling leisurely through the beautiful gardens & resting beside the pond with the ducks. Our first day was so exciting, we spent a second day with Mohammed. There was so much to see & do & eat! He was patient with our picture taking, our stopping suddenly & going into one shop or another. He paid attention to our conversation about what our interests were. We even went to a modern mall. We both believe our experience in Fes was so grand because we were fortunate enough to meet Mohammed who is now part of our families. We were blessed to meet his family & spend quality time in celebration with them. Go early. Stay late. Give yourself lots of time in Fes to actually feel the energy & calm of the Medina. We stayed 6 nights. Give yourself enough time with Mohammed so you can actually get to know more about Fes then what is in the guide books. Spend your time with someone who cares.
I recently took part in a cultural tour in the medina of Fez with a local guide and driver, and it was just great! Our driver was very friendly and made sure we got to the medina safely and comfortably. The local guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate and shared fascinating stories about the history and culture of Fez. Exploring its narrow streets, impressive architecture and vibrant markets was a real highlight. I felt like I was diving into another time. This tour is a must for anyone who really wants to experience the culture of Fez. I can highly recommend them!
Very good experience, both our guide Abdul and driver Khalid were very friendly and attentive. We made stops at the most important places and with very complete information from the guide. We fully recommend taking this tour, mainly to visit the Medina, since without a guide it is very easy to get lost. In addition, we moved from Fes to Casablanca, via Rabat, with the same agency. Where we had an inconvenience and Khalid was kind enough to help us solve it, which we highly appreciate. Also during Fes’ visit, Abdul worried that we would have a pleasant experience.
I was with the driver Yassine, a very pleasant journey from fez to volubillis and to meqnez. Very friendly, drives very well gives conversation, very polite and did us some favors, a great driver fully recommended
My husband and I took the one-day guided tour to visit Fes. I absolutely recommend the experience because they show you the main things of the city, outside and inside the medina, telling you history and curiosities. The next day, of course, we managed to move more independently in the chaotic and fascinating medina so I suggest taking the guided tour on the first day you visit Fes. Great prices and great organization, good!
