Abdejalil, from Tarboosh Travel, is super nice, kind and honest. He was great at communication and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The driver that was provided - Said - for Sahara dessert tour was great. He was friendly, talked and explained about things on the way, explained some of the history and culture of the Amazigh people. We did have an issue with the car not working and had to skip one of the visits to get to the hotel at a decent time - not Said’s fault. Said did everything he could to get it fixed at the soonest. The rose valley hotel we stayed at was not upto our expectations. There were cleanliness issues - found strands of hair on the pillows. Also, the room was very small. Also, for anyone who wants to spend more time in Sahara or at the attractions, this tour is not recommended as the stops are short and limited to ensure they stay on track with the itinerary.

Can’t recommend this travel agency enough! Abdejalil, from Tarboosh Travel, is super nice, kind and honest. Everything he said, was delivered. He stayed in touch throughout the trip to make sure everything was going according to plan, and it sure did! Great camping with private tent and bathroom. Superb experience for sure! The Hotel at Ouarzazat was great too. And the our driver (Mohamed) was beyond fantastic! He was a great driver and a superb guide. He kept explaining everything we saw and giving us data on Morocco’s daily life. 10/10! Thank you so much!!!
Our 3 day trip to the desert was outstanding! Every few hours we stopped at interesting spots. Tarboosh's advise was always spot on there and in Chefchaouin. He had excellent follow up and provided the best drivers. We loved Tarek. Thank you to everyone at Tarboosh Travel, when we come again, we will use you again!
Everything was perfect Communication: when booking the tours, after booking them, once in Morocco and during the trip. It was clear for me since the beginning that Tarboosh was a serious agency with very nice people that only want to offer a good service. The tour was as agreed, everything was incredible and on time. Our guide/van driver Jamal was amazing always with an smile, answering questions and a good driver! Price was fair and quality/cost relation is more than convenient. If I was not clear enough yet: I totally recommend this agency for your tours in Morocco!!!
The 3 day trip covered quite a bit. Sahara desert camel ride at Merzouga was the highlight. Weathering mini sandstorms, monkeys, Atlas film studio at Ourzazate, kasbah at Ait Ben Hadou, Todra canyon, geodes and fossils from the high Atlas mountains rounded up the experience. Will attempt a longer desert stay next time. Definitely a next time.
This agency had such good ratings that I was hoping they would not do the same lunch stops at tourist trap places, but they did, 2 out of 3 were overpriced, not very good and low rated (2.9 and 2.8), only 1 stop the food was okay ish (still expensive). Always in the middle of nowhere so you can't walk to a different one. On our last day none of us wanted to eat there so we told our driver, and he drove us someplace else, where the food was actually very good. Please do better when it comes to this, like the meals provided were not the best, and cheap to buy on their own, but for the lunch stops that were not included we go to overpriced places !? Probably little control over this one, maybe pick a better organized desert camp, but when we arrived at the camp in the Sahara desert, I was told I'd be given a shared tent, after I had specifically discussed and paid more to have a private one. I called the agency on whatsapp and luckily they picked up and talked to the guy in charge and the issue was resolved, however, I was moved to some other area a 5 min ride form the main camp, where the tents were not as nice and neither was the surrounding design. I also had to go back earlier because my tent was not there so I could not just go grab a hoodie or jacket for the weather that had gotten colder. It felt like couples had priority and were given all the nice tents, and with the private tent drama there was what felt like a lot of time lost, since we were not long in the desert. Also a little rushed, like we got there and did not even have the chance to change clothes before going on the camel ride to watch the sunset. Worth mentioning that it did seem they were going out of their way to make sure everything is okay (e.g. to resolve the tent issue). Tip, Rose Valley is not really worth it outside of the blooming season, there is nothing really to see. I'd probably still recommend them, but for a slightly lower price then what i paid (185 euros). I'll keep the score to 4 so they hopefully fix the lunch issue.
This is a wonderful agency to work with for booking one of these tours, they offer the best price I’ve seen and are very kind. We booked the 4 day tour and there were ups and downs, but overall we got what we wanted which was the desert experience. I would say it’s important to have realistic expectations, 1. You are doing the tour with a bunch of other people with different itineraries, 2. You are going on a very long journey to and from the middle of the desert, drives are long and the food is average/ limited yet expensive. Be aware no matter who you book with you will basically be getting the same thing. We were grouped with people who booked through other agencies and getyourguide for example, but we paid much less per day through Tarboosh Travel! Advice I give to future travellers is buy bottled water before embarking, it is not provided at the camp and there you will pay double to buy it. Additionally bring medicine in case you or others get sick, they have none and will not be very helpful. One poor guy’s stomach was sick for 2 days until we could get to a city with a pharmacy. The camel trip on day 1 was amazing, by far the highlight! The glamping is fun, just prepare for the cold. We loved stargazing and the atmosphere. However in the following days everything listed on the itinerary we did not get to do. The camp in Merzouga does not have a swimming pool, this should just be removed from the day 2 description. On day 3 we went to the Gorges even though we didn’t add it on because our group-mates had it in their tour… it was okay to see but wasted time for us and not worth it IMO. It meant we actually didn’t get ANY free time in Ouarzazate because we were late. So we didn’t get to visit Taourirt Kasbah or see that city much at all… the next morning on day 4 we stopped only to see the Kasbah from the outside and take a picture before heading out. There was also a quality problem with the hotel in Ouarzazate, we actually wound up switching because others complained… but neither hotel matched the description. Driver said he got us an upgrade which we appreciated… but who knows if that’s really true. We skipped the cinema studios (it was closed)! and again just saw it on the outside on day 4. The visit to Ait ben Haddou Kasbah was very beautiful and interesting, I was happy we got to have a tour of this historic site. Through the atlas mountains we did stop at a rest stop for a bathroom break, but it wasn’t a pretty panoramic view…just a roadside cafe wedged between the mountains, not what I was expecting. Kareem, our driver, was very nice for the most part, but there were moments that were confusing and uncomfortable. If you have someone in your group that speaks French it really helps to reduce the misunderstandings. He accommodated the requests of the group and did his best to ensure we had a good time, so we were very grateful! Unfortunately, at the very end he got upset that we were staying in different locations and there was no drop off plan that made sense… so it was REALLY stressful for everyone because he was so emotional and didn’t just pull over to plan it out. It’s too bad it ended on a sour note when we thought we were all getting along… Then he got mad some people didn’t tip. This I genuinely empathize with, so I probably wound up overtipping to compensate… he also claimed some group members never paid him back for money he loaned, I honestly don’t know if that’s true or if I was being hustled. But regardless, to future GUESTS: you NEED to tip when a guy has personally driven you around for 2 days straight and handled your every grievance, it’s not ok not to. I realize some people don’t come from a country with tipping culture, so please accept that tipping is necessary here. Think about the numbers, these drivers can’t be making much, you should factor a tip in when you budget for this trip. Overall this tour met our expectations because we went in knowing not everything would be perfect or go to plan on such an excursion. The desert is stunningly beautiful and that alone made it worth it. We also felt the package price was great value. If I were to do it again I would book using Tarboosh Travel, but (if I could afford to) a private tour so we would have more control over the itinerary and schedule. Thanks for everything Tarboosh Travel!
Best tour agency I have used in all of my travels. They have been around for decades. Don't be fooled by the hundreds of new travel agents in Morocco that have popped up since the pandemic. Some of them are scammers and I had to call the police on another tour agency for harassment. Tarboosh is legit. Tarboosh arranged two trips for me (Chefchuan and 3 day desert tour) during my time in Fez Morocco. The manager communicated with me throughout the booking process, picked us up from the hotel, arranged for breakfast during early morning trips, checked up on us during the trip and after to make sure we were satisfied. After meeting the manager Abdul on our first tour, we cancelled with another agency for our second tour (the other agency barely responded on time to us and demanded money from us for services not provided). We rebooked our second major tour with tarboosh (with discount for booking directly) and it was the best decision. He went above and beyond with his service and even helped us with issues outside of the tour. We had a run in with TWO major scammers (hundreds of US dollars at risk) during our stay in Morocco and Abdul helped guide us through both situations even though they were not his problem. After our tours, he continued to provide us guidance on Morocco through Whatsapp. Be aware, if you go with another tour agency, they may book you on a third party tour that may change your intinerary or downgrade the services promised to scam $$$ out of you. That happened to other travelers we met. Stay in contact with your booking agent and they can fix any "mix-ups" that happen during your tour. Abdul always responded within minutes of any WhatsApp message.
Excellent service from the beginning of the tour to the end, a 3 days and 2 nights tour at a more than affordable and pleasant price. Abdeljalil served us and organized the trip and also picked us up from our house to accommodate us, he also kept in touch daily to ensure that everything went according to the plan. Our driver Driss and our guide Omar are very professional and helpful, we felt like family with their support. The transport was very comfortable and pleasant and I will organize my next trip to discover our Morocco with Tarboosh Travel. Many thanks for your professionalism, my family greatly appreciated♥️♥️♥️
Sold to us as a wonderful experience but unfortunately experienced a few hiccups. Not all the stops promised to us were actually stopped at for example monkey land. This was frustrating when you look forward to the stops in the 8 hour drive We booked this as we were reassured the drivers would be safe and the vans would be air conditioned but unfortunately neither of these were correct. The vans were not air conditioned and we drove 8 hours on the first day from fes it was awfully hot and our driver was very unsafe on the roads (and didn’t speak English so couldn’t communicate this) The Sahara desert itself was beautiful and the camp was lovely including the meals. But it did feel we were passed from tour guide to tour guide we didn’t have one consistent tour guide the whole trip the driver would just park and tell us where to go. If I was to do it again I would do a private trip as you then have more control about the poor driving, probably have air conditioning and could make sure you don’t miss stops.
I highly recommend you book with this. travel agency! The best experience I've had. The trip went flawlessly. I did his #5 package which is a three days desert trip from Fes to Marrakech. They gave me the best price of €185. I met people who paid €285 for the exact same trip!!!! 😥 He is a good man and brought me breakfast. The drivers we had drove safe and spoke many languages including French, Italian and English. They stopped at many stops giving us breaks and seeing the sites. The tent he provided was comfortable with a good mattress. The hotel room exceeded my expectations with a pool and comfortable room. The camel ride was fun!
Mr.Abdul is a true professional. His agency offered us an awesome experience in the heart of the desert for a really good prince. A lifetime experience!
Simply fantastic, highly recommended-no Morocco trip is complete without it. Excellent accommodations and vehicles. Best of all, all the people associated with the trip were superb - polite, friendly, and eager to make sure the customers were happy. Special praise to Abdeljalil and Abdullah from TARBOOSH Travel and to our driver Hussein, who was not only a careful driver but a wonderful guide. It was like traveling with family.
We used Tarboosh Travel .com tours After a recommendation from our Riad in fez, Abdul came to our Riad and explained our flexible itinerary, 4 day 3 nights Sahara Desert Private tour. He took a deposit amd gave us a receipt, the rest to be taken on pickup. Our driver arrived on our agreed departure time. We did a 4 day, 3 night tour. This we thought would give us an enough time to do the route from fez back to Marrakesh, without being rushed. The great thing about having a private tour is flexibility. Our driver was friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and safe. The first day was about getting to our hotel (which you can pick from). So, the route to Merzouga is a long drive this was broken up with stops which were recommended by this experienced driver, and us asking to stop whenever we saw a photo opportunity. We had a great little lunch, the food was good safe to eat. There was a mix up on hotels, but the new one was rustic but ok and the food was also good DAR TAFOUYTE The following day as we had the longer trip, we had added (again, lovely to mix and match ideas into the trip) 4x4 ride into the sands and a local Berber pizza experience both added to our Moroccan experience In the afternoon was the camel ride to the tent. There was some confusion over this process, with bags and what would happen to them. I would advise to take a small bag on this with medication, toothbrush and overnight stuff.. just incase you do need this. The camel ride took around 2 hours to the camp, stopping for photos and the great opportunity for a sunset on the dunes. When we arrived the luxurious tent had a clean shower and toilet and comfortable beds. (Surprising good) Then food was served, again. Nice, and filling. There was some local music by the fire and star watching. You’re up early to watch the sunrise from the camp, which can be easily accessed from a small walk over the dunes, this is followed by breakfast and the return camel ride an 1:30 (hour and half) or you can switch this to a drive back (which ever suits you) On arrive our driver met us and we started our next drive to the next hotel. The driver was lovely and whenever we asked he stopped to take pictures of this amazing country he would be accommodating. Lunch again was nice, and safe. These drives are long, so take plenty of snacks, water and other things to make them more enjoyable. Our next hotel was ok, with pool. This food was ok, not a great selection. But, you are welcome to purchase extra food at an additional cost. (Peale du sud) hotel Quarzazate the rooms were good thou The next day we added a couple of things. The driver was very accommodating and flexible. Which you probably wouldn’t get with a big tour. We went to do the cinema museum. This was frustratingly disappointing, they’ve got great stuff, just no information to back up the props. This was followed by a trip to the atlas studios, this better executed. There’s a tour guide who’s knowledgeable about the sets and propers, backed up with his personal phone and the trailers to the movies. The rest of the journey back to Marrakesh was again, flexible.. you can stop or delete stuff off the rough itinerary that’s on offer. In conclusion, I would recommend this tour The private driver was safe, friendly and knowledgeable. The our hotels were comfortable, clean and safe to eat the food. There were some communication issues, which I think were down to the language barrier, one was bags and storage, but these were quickly resolved with no drama The main thing for us was the itinerary.. our driver made it a great experience. He knew what would we’d like and what we’d enjoy on our trip. Throughout the whole process Abdul was in contact making sure that we were happy, if we had any issues and with the mix up on the hotel, he made sure the last hotel Was clarified. He was contactable throughout the trip We also had a separate WhatsApp group With amazing driver Farid. So anytime he wasn’t with us, we could Contact him. We had an amazing time, thank you. Many thanks for a once in a life time memorable trip. James, Josh, Fernando.
The travel agency is very reliable and you get what they promised. We had a nice trip to Sahara Desert. The Camp was clean and served good food. Although the drive was long from Fès, we had fun, stopped at multiple places and ate good lunch. Special thanks to our très gentille driver!
I had a wonderful experience on the 3-day Sahara Desert adventure with TARBOOSH TRAVEL, and it was simply amazing. The journey from Fes to Merzouga was well-planned and included stops at several stunning locations along the way. The vehicle was clean, comfortable and well-maintained, and Abdel was professional and friendly. The highlight of the trip was the visit to the Merzouga Desert and experiencing the unique landscape and culture of the region. The visit to Ouarzazate and Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou was also a fantastic experience. The drive from Ouarzazate to Marrakech was just as scenic, and the journey was full of interesting stops along the way. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an incredible adventure in the Sahara Desert. Thank you for making my experience unforgettable!
My trip to the Sahara desert in Morocco with local guide Abdeljalil was truly unforgettable. He was an exceptional guide, knowledgeable and friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The desert itself was breathtaking, with stunning landscapes and unique experiences, and the camping was comfortable and memorable with delicious food and great company. I highly recommend this trip and Abdeljalil to anyone looking for an authentic adventure in the Sahara.
We went through Tarboosh travel for our multi-day desert excursion. The excursion went very well. The hotels, camps, and activities corresponded perfectly to what had been presented to us during booking. Abdeljalil was reassuring and available throughout the trip. At each stage we were taken care of efficiently without administrative burden or misunderstanding because at each stage the various drivers and hotels were notified of our arrival. We were able to enjoy our excursion with peace of mind and let ourselves be carried along by the trip. You can book with complete confidence.
Very responsible local guide, very enthusiastic to introduce us to local events, very respectful of our opinions. Always concerned about our progress and sense of experience during our travels, asking us every day how we are today, if we need help, and if we need help, feel free to contact him, no matter what time. All the drivers and guides on the trip were also very, very good, sincere and thoughtful. In short, it was a really, really great experience!
Abdeljalil is very friendly, thoughtful and takes care of day everything to the last detail. The trip itself was well organized and varied. You're definitely getting your money's worth.
Bad experience. I do not recommend it under any circumstances. I had done this tour the wrong way with another agency last year and it was a wonderful experience. I can compare and it's been a big mistake to contract with this agency. We booked the tour in Spanish. Nothing to do with it. It was done in English and as a solution we were told that is why we had the Google translator. We understand English and it was not necessary the translator but it is not about that, it is about that was not what was hired. Before starting the trip the person who accompanied us to the departure point told us that we had to say that the trip had cost us more than we had paid, which was not a little..., we were a little puzzled because we did not understand why he asked us to lie about that question since the prices are on the Tripadvaisor website. These types of comments are already a notice of who is hired... The Zaida stop, on the first day, marked on the itinerary was not realized, the driver stopped at another roadside restaurant that was really disgusting. It was all dirty, the buffet only had scraps of food looking sorry and we were charged €12. Unpresentable place. I have to say that the stay with the Berbers was great and I am sure that it went so well because it was not up to the agency. The only thing they didn't organize that depended on the Berbers was what was worth it. On the second day, according to the itinerary we should have stopped at Todgha Gorge 55', it was 15' and the driver drove us, so we did not see the beginning and could not walk through the throat. The remaining time of the stipulated led us to a carpet shop where we were 40’...it is not a receipt to miss the visit to the throat for a carpet sale. At the store, I told the driver what was wrong with the Throat and he said, “this is the Todra” I hallucinated!! I showed him last year's picture telling him no, that he knew perfectly well where we should go and that he was teasing us. It was for this reason that he made us the 15’ I am sure that if I do not tell him, he does not take us. The stop at El Kelaa M’ gouda did not. We should have visited a rose-mining cooperative and it never came out. I rebuked him that he was not following the itinerary at the roadside bar where he stopped us for lunch and also indicated that he had suggested a shift system in the van since, specifically, my friend and I were always separated and to please manage it. What she did was tell the rest of the group that “the Spaniard” wanted to move them from their seats. Hearing him I told him what he was up to! That that wasn’t fair, that he had exposed me to the rest of the group and that I was just asking to rotate as he had suggested. Not content to leave me embarrassed was where a cameo in the bar who spoke a little Spanish and, I don't know what he said, but he came like a madman to tell me that if I had problems with the driver I would go to Marrakech!! Unbelievable. He left me out of the game but I reacted by telling him who he was to talk to me like that and that if, all right, I was going to Marrakech, to organize it and give me the money back because I had been offended and the trip was proving a scam. Then it's down and well, come on, no, no, no, no Marrakech. Given the situation, I contacted the person organizing the trip and, he said that yes, that he was right but that I talked to the rest of the travelers to rotate, etc...how? Me? I don't think it's my place... We got to Ouarzazate. We had asked in hiring room with separate beds, we insisted on detail. They said yes. We arrived and were assigned single bed. We complained and to solve it they made an Italian couple leave their room and put us in. One bed was dignified but the other was a cot of bad death not commensurate with a dignified and not equal rest with the other bed. On the third day the return to Marrakech was meteoric and I almost have to say good thing... He was stopped by the police, I imagine because he was constantly with his mobile and maybe they saw him. They looked at the passengers and I was covered up, they asked me to see if I had a seat belt, I showed it and it didn't happen anymore but the driver rebuked me like they had stopped us because of me.....good thing the Italian couple told him he wasn't right!! In Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou there are two ways to enter, free of charge by the Bridge and paying by the river. The driver did not warn us about this and left us in the one that he had more comfort, in which we had to pay... I knew it but the detail would have been appreciated. At 13:00 we were in Marrakech and finally the horror of travel ended. It is a shame that the lack of professionalism and inattention makes 3 days of vacation an ordeal. Especially the scam of defaulting on visits....I insist that everything that had nothing to do with the Berbers and the desert was a real fiasco. There are more travel options so I recommend not contracting with this company. My experience last year was incredible so I confirm that there are agencies that comply with the requirements. In fact, we took so much time from the visits on the tour that we arrived in Marrakech back at 20:00 h and on this trip, by 13:00 we had already been dropped off at the different hotels. A scam, a bad time and a lousy trip.
Second experience with Tarboosh Travel and my sister and I enjoyed it a lot. Everything was great, travel, visit, food. I will only travel with them🥰 Thank you again for everything 😍
We took the tour last minute and everything super well organized. We didn't have to worry about anything, just enjoying it as they take care of everything. The night in the desert was wonderful. Berbers are very fun and speak many languages so I created a close-knit multicultural group. The visits to the canyons, the film studios, Aita Ben Hadoou... were very interesting. Recommended 100% organize it with them.
A beautiful journey from Fes to Marrakech, passing through the desert of Merzouga to the scenic Ouarzazate, site of very famous films! 5 stars also for the "guide" on the second and third day, Mohamed!
Our 3 days and 2 nights trip from Fez via Merzouga and Ourzazate was an unforgettable experience. The landscapes are breathtaking. The organization was really good, the vehicle comfortable and a superb atmosphere. I highly recommend the Tarboosh agency in Fez where we received an excellent welcome and very good advice. Thanks again !
It was a great experience. I had so much fun. The driver was very good fun and helpful. There is almost no place left that we haven't seen, you cannot easily find this much service and entertainment at this price anywhere. I also made lots of new friends. Simply magnificent
We travelled with Mustafa from Fez and it was an amazing experience. While the trip is long, it is worth it and we enjoyed it from moment 1 until we were dropped off again at the Blue Gate. Mustafa made the trip very enjoyable with the talks, stopping to feed the monkeys, gave us fruits and entertained us feeding wild dogs 🤣. The desert experience was also very good. In our case we were accompanied by Brahim who taught us things in Arabic and Berber and made us enjoy the experience a lot. Excellent camp. Quite a luxury. Thank you very much
The experience was incredible and unforgettable. People have been very friendly and kind to us. Moustapha, our driver, treated us like family. He explained the history of every place we drove through and stopped in every landscape for us to take pictures. He takes care of his passengers very well. Recommended 100%
Beautiful experience, all super friendly!! Driver Moustapha a genius! Highly recommended! Thank you!!
The agency was very clear and helpful in arranging the trip, also providing us with whatsapp for any request or doubt. Fantastic experience shared with a friend, recommended!
Amazing experience with the desert tour! Impeccable organization and a lot of kindness from the guide and everyone in general! Highly recommended
We had the joy to come across this wonderful agency that offers the most prices of the Medina of Fez without having to negotiate! Our excursions to the Sahara and Chafchaouen were superb! The drivers and the quality of services are good, thank you for everything we recommend 👍🏼🐪🤩
Very nice stay in the desert with the agency everything was very well organized. All the people who were by our side were professional and friendly ( chauffeur camel host restaurant). Thank you for your time.
I liked the benevolence of our agency who kept in touch throughout. And the trip kept its promises, really top😍
