Our experience with Fes City Travel was deeply disappointing and unprofessional from beginning to end. We booked what was presented to us as a “top, top luxury” honeymoon experience in Morocco. Abdul, the travel agent with Fes City Travel, assured us that he would personally handle the arrangements and provide exceptional luxury service and accommodations. Unfortunately, the reality was the complete opposite. From the outset, there was a serious lack of organization and transparency. We were never provided with a detailed written itinerary despite requesting one. There were no clear payment instructions, no formal confirmations, and no outlined expectations regarding deposits or methods of payment. The evening before departure, I specifically asked how and when we could make a deposit. I was told not to worry and that we could handle it upon pickup the following day. However, halfway through our journey to the Sahara Desert, Abdul called and demanded that we immediately pay the driver in cash. We had not been instructed to bring cash, nor had any expectation been set that cash payment was required. When I explained that we did not have cash because we had been told payment could be handled the next day, he stated that it was our fault for not asking — despite the fact that we had asked the evening prior. This interaction set the tone for the remainder of the trip: blame-shifting, poor communication, and a complete lack of professionalism. The accommodations booked for us were entirely misrepresented. The “luxury” Sahara desert camp was located directly off the road rather than deep in the desert as advertised. The tents and facilities were not clean, basic amenities such as drinking water were not provided, and the overall standard was far below what would reasonably be considered luxury or reasonable. The meals served at the camp were disappointing and did not reflect the authentic Berber cultural experience that had been promised. We were told we would experience genuine local hospitality and connection with Berber families, but this did not occur. The second accommodation arranged in Ouarzazate was equally underwhelming — at best a two- or three-star property, located approximately 20 minutes from the main part of the city. Once again, no welcome amenities, no water provided, dirty room, and overall poor standards for what was marketed as a premium honeymoon experience. We had two consecutive nights of extremely poor sleep due to the substandard conditions. Before the trip ended, we contacted the company to formally file a complaint. Initially, both communication and tone seemed apologetic and professional, and we were assured that a full refund would be processed. However, this proved to be another false promise. Over the course of more than three months, we followed up repeatedly and were given contradictory responses. Eventually, communication became dismissive, and we were told not to contact them again. The promised refund was never provided. This experience lacked transparency, professionalism, accountability, and honesty. For a milestone trip such as a honeymoon, the level of disorganization and misrepresentation was unacceptable, and we felt unsafe during the entire experience. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Fes City Travel to other travelers. I strongly encourage future clients to thoroughly research alternatives before booking. The owner, Mr. Bader, was very rude, dismissive, unkind, and unprofessional. We would never do business with such a company and recommend to all travelers to take a serious consideration elsewhere.

Famous cedar forest, Barbary macaques and wonderful butterflies, the surrounding area is a favorite summer attraction for city dwellers, hikers and picnickers from the larger neighboring cities.
Taking a lunch break in Midelt is an opportunity to discover by car a small Moroccan town nestled in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. With its peaceful atmosphere and characteristic architecture, Midelt offers a charming setting to enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine. You can enjoy delicious dishes such as tagine, couscous, or barbecue, prepared with local ingredients. Take the opportunity to relax in one of the local restaurants, enjoy the warm Moroccan hospitality, and maybe even taste some regional specialties. Midelt is also renowned for its apple orchards, so don't miss the opportunity to taste fresh apples from the region, a welcome refreshment before continuing your journey through the enchanting landscapes of Morocco.
Stopping off in the Ziz Valley is a real getaway to the heart of Moroccan nature. This valley, with its verdant palm groves and spectacular desert landscapes, offers a striking contrast that appeals to travelers. Palm trees provide welcome shade for a refreshing break, while the gentle breeze transports you to a world of tranquility. The waters of the Ziz River meander through the canyons, adding a touch of coolness to this desert environment. During your stop in the Ziz Valley, take time to admire the panoramic views, taste local products such as fresh dates, and immerse yourself in Berber culture. It is an essential stopover for those who wish to discover the natural beauty and authenticity of Morocco.

The end of the day marks the long-awaited hour when you enter your luxury tent, nestled in the heart of the desert, in the company of your faithful camel companions. It's a moment of magical transition, where the excitement of adventure gives way to the serenity of comfort. The luxury tents in the middle of the sand dunes of Merzouga are real gems. You will find cozy beds, neat furnishings and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. As night falls and you enter your tent, you can prepare for an even more special experience: a night under a starry sky, lit only by the glow of the twinkling desert stars. It is a magical moment that remains engraved in the memory of all travelers.
Day 2
2
Today we will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and breakfast before returning by camel to Merzouga village.
Visit the Berber market. Rissani is a town in Errachidia province in eastern Morocco, located near Erfoud. It is the closest town of significant size to Erg Chebbi, the largest sand desert in Morocco.
The Todgha Gorges are a series of limestone river canyons, or wadis, located in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, near the town of Tinerhir. The neighboring Todgha and Dadès rivers are responsible for carving these deep cliffside canyons during their last 40 kilometers through the mountains.
The Valley of Roses lies at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where the mountains meet the Dades Valley. It is irrigated by the Asif M'Goun river and its main village is Kelaat M'Gouna where rose cultivation is practiced.
Boumalne Dadès is located in the Dadès Valley, a region home to some of the most picturesque landscapes in Morocco. The Dades River creates an agricultural oasis, including the country's famous Valley of Roses known for its centuries of rose oil and rose water production.
Continue your way to a luxury hotel in Ouarzazate or Boumalne Dadès. Relax by the pool and join others for delicious dinner and entertainment.
Day 3
3
Ouarzazate is a city located in the south of Morocco's High Atlas Mountains, known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Its immense Taourirt kasbah, home to a 19th-century palace, offers views of the rugged local landscape, featured in several films. To the northwest is the red earth fortified town of Aït Ben Haddou. To the northeast are the rocky Todra gorges. A road winds southeast through the lush palm groves of the Draa Valley to the desert. Also visit a famous movie studio.
Kasbah Taourirt is a complex of historic fortified residences. According to oral traditions, the kasbah was first built in the 17th century by the Imzwarn, a powerful local family.[1] But more certainly, the kasbah was taken over and enlarged by the Glaoui family in the 19th century.
The ksar, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses are grouped inside the defensive walls reinforced by corner towers. Aït-Ben-Haddou, in the province of Ouarzazate, is a spectacular example of southern Moroccan architecture
Tizi n'Tichka is a mountain pass in Morocco, connecting the southeast of Marrakech to the city of Ouarzazat via the High Atlas Mountains.

We traveled from Rabat to Merzouga and back from the desert to Marrakesh with Sufyan. He is a very kind and attentive person who helped us throughout the entire journey. His mother makes delicious cookies, which he kindly shared with us for the road. He was very flexible in adapting to our needs and made sure all our requests were taken care of. Despite the long hours of driving and possible exhaustion, he was always cheerful and positive. I would highly recommend him both as a guide and as a driver.
