This was such a great way to see and experience so much of Morocco. From visiting the markets in small villages to the amazing gorges and mountain passes, each day was filled with new scenery and adventure. The dunes at Erg Chebbi, the camel rides and overnight camping were definitely a highlight. The whole experience was made even better by our fabulous guide and driver Ibrahim. We learnt so much from him about Morocco, the people and customs and he was great at finding out our interests and making stops that he knew we would enjoy. Overall this was the highlight of our two weeks in Morocco.

We had three full days with Ibrahim as he drove us from Fez to Marrakech via the desert. He was a perfect guide! He shared his knowledge of the country and explained so much of the culture. He took us to completely authentic Moroccan restaurants for lunches (not tourist restaurants, at our request) where we ate streetside with local people and enjoyed freshly grilled meats, bread, tomato and onion salads, vegetable and a luscious goat tagine, and (of course) olives. And tea! So delicious. We visited a beautiful little market where we bought the best spices of our entire trip, and spent time at a Berber carpet coop shop for my friend. Ibrahim was always on time, always kind and generous with his time. I can’t recommend him enough! Obviously the camel trip and stay in the desert overnight were highlights as well. The ride was generously long, with a break in the middle for sunset photos and time to appreciate our camels. The dinner that night was very generous, and there was a warming fire with drums and dancing after dinner. It really was unforgettable. I’m so glad we did this.
Would thoroughly recommend this tour. So much to see and experience. The camel ride into the desert, comfortable tent accommodation, glorious sunset, night sky and sunrise in the Sahara. Ibrahim our driver and guide was fabulous.
We would like to commend our driver, Ebrahim, for his truly excellent service. He attended to all our needs with great care and professionalism, and was always ready to take us wherever we wanted to go, promptly and efficiently. His knowledge of the area and his friendly, accommodating manner made our journeys smooth and enjoyable. We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an exceptional experience
We booked the Private tour from Fes to Marrakech and it was amazing. Our driver Youssef was great, super friendly and helpful, one of the highlights of the trip. The communication with the agency was fast and precise. The accommodations they booked were comfortable and above expectations. We strongly recommend!
We signed up for this journey as a way to get from Fes to Marrakech and sleep in the desert one night. We had a fantastic time. All went well: Camel ride was fun, the tent was comfortable and warm (they are permanent tents), and we saw beautiful sights throughout the mountains. The driver, Hisham, gave us a great trip, including hunting down locals who could find the Barbary macaques in the cedar forest for us to see. He also provided insights into various Moroccan cultures. Second night was in a nice hotel built into a mountainside. Highly recommend.
Perfect trip with our amazing and super pro Driver Youssef, really complete and enjoyable talks explaining the views and history of Morocco as we drove through the countryland 👍🏼👍🏼
It was an amazing trip. Our driver Youssef was the best! So adorable and gave us great information about Marroco. Really great experience! 100% recommended
We had a wonderful experience! Everything went as planned. Our guide Said was always very punctual, polite and attentive in showing us everything. Our hotels and food were perfect. Our experience in the desert will remain in our memories. I recommend the tour and thank you for the excellent work.
The 3-day journey from Fez to Marrakech via the Sahara was nothing short of magical. We traversed the Atlas Mountains, marveled at ancient kasbahs, and rode camels through the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. The Sahara's enchanting silence and starry nights captivated us. As we reached Marrakech, the cultural tapestry unfolded in its bustling souks and historic sites. This trip seamlessly blended adventure and culture, leaving us with indelible memories of Morocco's diverse wonders.
My husband and I came from Colombia and loved the experience provided by Sahara desert crew. We took the 3 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech. Everything was perfect! From pick up to drop off all went fantastic 😍. Our guide Brahim was really friendly, patient, and kind. He took great care of us and always made sure we were having a good time. All the places we saw and stayed over night were top quality. We upgraded the camp to one with a 🛁. I recommend choosing the private tour for couples or small groups and I recommend the ladies to wear dresses during the day and bring loose pants for the 🐪 ride. The trip is very long, so be patient; but is well worth it. The sunset in the Sahara is quiet a spectacule!
Fabulous tour! The highlight of our 3 week vacation touring Portugal and Morocco!! Highly recommend to anyone considering!!
It was a great experience! We saw various landscapes and sceneries in Morocco, had good foods, and learned a lot about history and current news about the country from our knowledgeable tour guide Youssef. Recommend this trip to everyone who wants to Sahara dessert and have a road trip in Morocco!
The 3 days 2 nights trip from Fez to Marrakech via Sahara Desert (Merzouga) was supposed to be the highlight of my Morocco trip. Based on the reviews on Viator, I booked the excursion for my friend and I for a small group tour with Sahara Desert Crew even though its price was much higher than other similar excursions. The overview on the Viator was very basic and does not have much information. One would have thought that the vendor, Sahara Desert Crew, would email or provide some basic itinerary about our trip or even re-confirm the meeting place. NOOP! NOTHING. We heard nothing until we contacted Sahara Desert Crew and asked if we can get picked up from a closer location because we had safety concerns @ Fez the day before. Although it is not included on our tour, the driver did picked us up and we are grateful. The tour minivan was nice enough and the numbers of travelers did not exceed 8 travelers as promised. Most of the time, none of us knew where we are going or even what the agenda of the days are as the driver was not very talkative. He is very kind, nice, and friendly. Lots of restroom breaks in between long drives. The driver would take us to lunch places and we will all eat at the same place. Most of the time, the restaurants would be overpriced for tourists and with minimal food options. Due to the long drive, all of us (7 travelers) bonded and we all got to talk about the tours. That was when my friend and I found out that the tour van that we are on its actually for a different tour ~ 3 day Morocco Kasbahs & Desert Tour to Marrakech from Fez and provided by Trip Morocco. For this tour, total max travelers are 17, desert camp is standard (meaning share bathroom/toilet) and 2nd night hotel is listed for USD$254.49. Trip Morocco emailed the 5 travelers with more information on places and what's included/excluded (unlike Sahara Desert Crew). On our tour all of us got the same treatment, same van, same desert camp/tent, same 2nd night hotel, all included/excluded items listed are the same and all places we visited are the same. However, my friend and I paid USD$347.73 and that is USD$93.24 difference per person or almost 50% more than what my fellow travelers paid. Shame on Sahara Desert Crew for misleading us and did not even have the audacity to mention that we will be grouped with another tour. Sahara Desert Crew did not even asked how was our trip until almost towards the end. I have booked 12 viator tours this year and 100+ over the last few years and this has never happened to me. I feel the need to speak up so other travelers know what they are getting with Sahara Desert Crew.
Such an amazing trip! With the help of our guide and driver Ibrahim Yaatoubi we've not only seen the landscapes and villages, but we've also learned so much about Morocco and their people's culture. I would recommend this tour to everyone with a will of adventure and surely your smile will be granted. Unique and inspiring experience! Thank you so much.
The trip was absolutely amazing. We loved everything and our tour guide Ibrahim was so good. He knew everything and was always ready to help. Truly, an amazing experience. My only issue was with the length of camel ride because it was too long for me and my friend. The camp was very far which made it a two hours long ride. The beginning was very fun however we were exhausted by the end. other than that, everything was perfect. All the accommodations and restaurants were amazing. Monica Galinari - NY
Wow! Merci Mustafa! Gracias Mustafa! Choukran Mustafa! We did a really well organized trip with the company and we now can say we have seen Morroco for real ! I recommend for everyone who wants to more about this beautiful country. Merci encore à notre super Guide 👍
We found this tour when trying to work out how to get from Fez to Marrakesh on our trip without retracing our steps, and it included stops at some of our ‘must see’ sights. We hoped it would be good, but our expectations were far exceeded! Ibrahim our driver was super, looking after us all the way, taking us to all sorts of stops and sights and making the whole experience perfect. The accommodation in the desert and the hotel it top notch, with great evening meals and Ibrahim found us super spots in local restaurants to buy lunch. Each part of it was a delight from the camel ride, to watching the sunrise over the Sahara. There are the highlights on the itinerary but so many little stops with super photo opportunities along the way. Thank you Safari Desert Crew and particularly Ibrahim
We had a great tour and our guide Yirdir was excellent. Very patient, polite, and safe. We traveled with our 15 and 8 year old daughters. Arranged the trip directly with the company, they were very responsive and everything was well organized. We enjoyed the itinerary and learning more about the Berber people and culture. It was very hot in the desert camp in June, I would recommend traveling when it is cooler or sleeping outside of the tents. Great experience and highly recommended anyway.
They did a great job. Just don’t go in the summer. We had heat and sand storms. Turns out I wasn’t a camel person, so they gave me a ride to the camp through the dunes. Great experience driving, which is good, because there is a lot of driving. Good AC and had good room for 2 meter tall people! Hotels… well… ok. I am not sure what a good vs great hotel is in that area. I kinda wanted working internet.🤔 Muhammad was a great guide. Had fun with the drums. Wish there was AC in the tents… but they moved my bed outside. Kinda cool.
This was a perfect tour and Ibrahim was the BEST guide. He transfers guests to the desert and away from the desert. The stops were informative and we saw a lot of the country. There is a lot of driving, but you don’t want to miss a desert tour and camel ride while you are in Morocco. We stayed in the Sunny Sahara desert camp and it was so much more than we expected. This is “must do” tour on a trip to Morocco!
Our guide, Ibrahim, was absolutely great. Always asking if we need something and paying attention to our needs. Super professional all the tour, the guide and the sites we visited. 100% recommended
This is for sure the best tour we have ever had in our lives. We're so glad we did it and we're so thankful with our guide Nour, we would definitely recommend him. He offered us an extra quad trip in the Sahara for 30€ which was great and nobody was offered anything similar. We also had a longer detour which was worth the +1h trip. We would skip the Hollywood tour, the rest is great. Thanks Nour!
Outstanding experience, and a very good way to travel from Fez to Marrakech. We opted to take Camel rides in both directions for the trip into and out of camp because it was so much fun! The meals were an embarrassment of riches, and the bed was commies we have had during our 10 days in Morocco so far. The car ride led us to several spots we never would have done on our own, and our friends are probably tired of seeing so many amazing pictures over three days. So worth it!
This 3 day tour from Fès to Marrakech was simply a life experience. We say so many things, so many different landscapes in one country and it is all due to Amar's tour. It was an AMAZING road trip. Amar, the driver, he is one of a kind. He wants people to discover his country. If you have a question, he wil make sure to give you an answer. We learned and saw so much. Amar would recommend us great restaurants and would stop at all the must-see in Morroco. This tour was one of my highlights during my trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to laugh, discover, learn and enjoy the wonderful country that is Morocco. Amar is simply the best guy that can offer you all that
My boyfriend and I booked a 3-day tour from Fès to Marrakech and everything was absolutely perfect! From the beginning Youssef was really fast in answering all our questions and the communication was super easy. Regarding the trip itself, it was beyond all expectations! Our driver and guide YIDIR was amazing: really professional, kind and interesting. He made sure we were enjoying every second of our trip and was eager to show us the best spots, but also to adapt the tour to our convenience. All the staff and persons we met during this trip were absolutely amazing and happy to make us discover more about Morocco! The night in the desert was truly magic! If you’re going to Morocco, make sure you don’t miss to book a tour with Sahara Desert Crew, you won’t regret it! A big thank you to all the team and especially to YIDIR who made our trip perfect!
My girlfriend and I took a two-week tour in Morocco, and the last stop has been the Sahara desert. We decided to put ourselves in the hands of Sahara Desert Crew, an agency which we discovered online thanks to the positive reviews they have. The choice has been just right, they organized everything in detail from the pickup in Fes until the last destination Marrakech. Special mention for our driver Yidir. He made our adventure perfect. Always highly professional, funny and kind. He let us stop in every spot useful to take great pictures and he stopped by, on the way, in great local restaurants where we could appreciate the local cuisine at low prices. He constantly checked on us to be sure everything was going smoothly and spotless, and so it was indeed during the whole trip with him. This trip will be unforgettable for us thanks also to Yidir. Experience that I recommend to everyone. Visit Morocco and visit Sahara!🏜️
This was a wonderful experience. Our driver, Yusuf, was very informative and tailored the trip to our needs. The desert camel driver was hilarious even though he spoke very little english and the staff at the camp made us feel very comfortable. They played music for us the night we stayed there and it was so much fun. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is because of how long the 2nd and 3rd day of the trip is. You stay at another hotel (which was also nice and comfortable) but I wish we stayed at the dessert for the 2 nights and then drove to Marrakesh. There were many, many stops to look at, various monuments, tourist sights and overlooks and by the 3rd day we were exhausted. The food in the desert also made us all sick, likely due to the fresh salad which in hindsight we should not have eaten as it is the desert and I'm not quite sure how potable the water is there. Despite this, overall the trip was great.
We liked the tour very much, our guide Ibrahim answered all our questions, shared with each other Moroccan and Russian life experience and mentality. We spent the night in the desert together with my wife, no one else was in the camp - despite this, we also listened folk music, danced by the fire and looked at the stars. There was wi-fi in the desert. On the second night, the hotel had just few visitors and we could fully enjoy the pool Opportunity for improvement: dispense handkerchiefs when riding camels, dispense cold water on a daily basis
The absolute best part of our trip to Morocco was taking a multi-day trip from Fes to Marrakesh through the desert! Staying in Sahara desert in a camp really made us feel like we were in a movie and made the whole experience unreal (they give you an option to ride on a camel or take a jeep, but a camel is what makes the experience unique!). The great bonus was that we also stopped at Ait Ben Haddou, a place where many movies and tv shows were filmed such as Game of Thrones, The Mummy, Gladiator and many others! After getting off in Marrakesh and parting with our kind guides, we rented a car and visited Cèdre Gouraud to see Barbary apes and we recommend that to everyone as well!
Thanks to Hassan and Youssef for an amazing trip. We went with a group of friends for a weekend to Morocco, traveling from Fez to Merzouga, We were accompanied by Hassan and Youssef, who were attentive to every detail so that we had the best possible experience. I recommend them 100%. Being accompanied by some people who are experts in the country and its culture, friendly and trustworthy, has made this trip a great experience. Our next trip is going to be through the north of Morocco and without a doubt we are going to do it with Sahara Desert Crew very soon. Thank you very much, we already miss you!
Very nice adventure in southern Morocco accompanied by Ibrahim, riding camels and night in the Camp. Nice walks through this region. We never tire of visiting Morocco, it's magnificent.
We relied on this tour after reading the great feedback from other users. Right from the start we found speed of communication with Youssef who provided us with excellent suggestions and complied with our requests. The chosen tour 3 days and 2 nights from Marrakech to discover the south in a private 4x4. Our driver / guide Omar was amazing, of a unique kindness. Very helpful and full of a thousand information on Moroccan culture and life. Excellent experience also for the choice of locations to sleep all of the highest level. What can I say ..... Highly recommended
We took a personalized tour of the main cities in Morocco with a car just for me and my wife. Despite the problems related to ramadan, our guide (Said) was extremely attentive and managed to reorganize our program, ensuring an incredible experience in the country. In addition to our wonderful guide Said, the owners of the company were also very attentive and concerned. I recommend the company in every way.
A memorable excursion from start to finish. The stops en route to Merzouga are perfect and allow us to see breathtaking landscapes. Youssef made sure that our stay corresponded exactly to our request and he answered my questions very quickly before our arrival in Morocco. He even took care to come and greet us during our stay. Our guide Ibrahim took the time to describe the different sites and he always made sure we had everything we needed. Always smiling and patient despite the long days on the road. Thank you again for everything! I highly recommend during your visit to Morocco regardless of the excursion
We had a wonderful 3 days traveling between Fez and Marrakech via the desert. Our driver Said was extremely hospitable and would always help us when needed. We traveled in a group of 9 and we all got along really well together. In the evenings, there’d be a ‘fire party’ and traditional music performance! The desert camp was much nicer than I expected - definitely a version of “glamping”!
Especially the night in the desert was impressive. Lots of small stops made it possible to endure the long trip. Our driver organized lots of little facultative sightseeings. Great Car, great roades. Thank you Mustafa.
The highlights for me were the camel ride as well as sitting underneath the stars at the desert. It was not cloudy that day and it was as if diamonds were in the sky. Definitely recommend taking the car back from the campsite so you get to enjoy the sand dune ride as well. Thank you Mustafa for the smooth ride across the Atlas! Also, layer up due to the temperature difference between early morning and noon.
I can’t say enough great things about this trip. It was without a doubt the best part of our Morocco holiday. Zaid was so friendly and fun, and we all felt like old friends by the end of the trip. We knew there would be camping and a camel ride, but there were so many ‘extras’ that made this trip unforgettable. We will be recommending it to everyone we know. Book it now!
I went on this trip with low expectations, but it was far more than I imagined. I had the greatest time, see a lot of things in such a short time but never felt hurried. I loved that we were a small group of 6, so it wasnt touristy, I felt nice and included. I got really good insight and vibe of life in different parts of Marocco, from Fez to Marakesh. Every day was somethnig special, we saw sooooo much, that Marroco has to offer. First we were thinkig of doing this trip on our own, but now I am happy that we took the trip, because there is no way we could see and do and experienced that much by ourself. Our driver Omar was really amazing, he made sure we experienced everything and more, answered all the questions and smiled all the time. I think we get all we wished for and more. The accomondations were just amazing, food very good and generous, trips just amazing. Even though there was a lot of driving I was never bored, the views were amazing, we stopped a lot to take a great photos and strech our legs. Sahara was a highlight, beyond anything that I imagined and wished for, but the other two days were also great! I would reccomend this trip to anyone. It is well worth the price and is deffinitly best way to travel from Fez to Marrakesh!
Great tour. Our guide, Omar, was a fantastic driver and I always felt safe even when we were navigating twisty mountain roads. The desert camp was lovely and the tents came equipped with toilets and hot showers! The Moroccan landscape is incredibly beautiful and I’m extremely glad that I got to see so much of it in just 3 days. For those who are prone to motion sickness like me, motion sickness wristbands and possibly a transderm prescription patch are necessities.
Amazing trip with Omar as tour guide and driver from Fez to Marrakech! Camel ride to desert camp was a magical experience
Booked via Tripadvisor site. Tour showed a lot of the desert and southern oasis towns and river valleys! Gorgeous scenery, didn’t feel too rushed. Group of six people on tour and tour guide/driver Omar was super friendly and very accommodating!!!! Be warned there is a lot of driving on this tour because a lot of ground needs to be covered. Highlights were definitely camel ride/night slamming in desert. Hike to a casbah at the top of the hill with stupendous views was great too! Barbary macaques the first day were a treat! Thanks again for the great tour Omar!
We had An amazing time on this tour as our driver and guide Omar was really Nice, informative and drove to locations, we wouldn't find by our own. The Sahara camel ride and the camp were really something, everyone should experience while in Morocco! The hotel on our second night had An amazing dinner along with nice views. Driving can Get hectic at Times, But Omar knows his Driving and makes things fun on the way. All together, I highly recommend!
Our trip consists of 6 people, including us. - Car was big enough to spend good time. It had 3 lines of sheet, two sit down in the first row with a driver, two sit in the 2nd line, and the rest two sit down on the last row. In each sheet, 3 people can sit at max, so I recommend you join tour with 1 - 2 friends, so that you don't have to sit down with a person whom you met on that day for the first time. - The driving is safe - but road itself is winding, so you should bring medicine that keeps you from car sick. - Each day you have 8 - 10 hours of driving, but drivers stops every 30 - 60 minutes to visit bathroom. - Hotel, lunch place, additional tour (in dessert or other cities) is prepared by this tour, they are all good. - Tour guide(Yoursef) speaks English. - Of course the experience in dessert was amazing. We visited in Feb, so it was really cold in the night and morning. Make sure to bring warm jacket. I guess it was zero degree at coldest. - Bring enough cash in dirham. It depends on how much shopping you wanna do on the way, but 2k - 3k dirham was enough to survive this trip.
This was a fantastic experience due in main to our guide / chauffeur - Ibraheim ( not sure if I’ve spelt that correctly - sorry!). He went over and above to make sure we enjoyed our trip- was a mine of information , interesting and good humoured. The stop in the desert was good fun too with the guys pulling out all the stops with the music in the evening around the campfire .
I travel a lot for work and pleasure. I rarely take tours and employ guides. In this case, I couldn’t be happier that I did. We traveled to all the major cities in Morocco and spent three days with Sahara Desert Tours going from Fez to Marrakech via a night in the Sahara Desert and one in the Atlas Mountains. This journey was by far the best experience we had while in Morocco. Every aspect of this journey was excellent from pick up and drop off to desert accommodations, food, coffee and companionship with the staff. The highlight of all the highlights was our guide Ibrahim. I’m fairly sure he is why this experience was so excellent. He is a true ambassador for Morocco and the Berber people as well as a steady driver and friendly companion. He has a zest for life, love of country, and concern for his clients that makes your time w him truly unique and special. If you come to Morocco, I highly recommend leaving the cities and seeing the unique and lovely countryside. Morocco countryside is stunning, beautiful and unique. It is well worth the time and effort. Should you take my advice, then I can not recommend Sahara Desert Tours more highly. I’m deeply grateful for the experience they offered us and their warm, gracious hospitality.
Great crew to book with. Easy and fast communication online. We booked the most basic tour but was fortunate to have the whole car and camp to ourselves. The camel rides was exhilarating but desert sunset had us in complete awe. At camp, even though it was just the two of us, the crew put on a whole show, singing and drumming around a fire. They even indulged us with western music. Singing Toto’s Africa and Drake’s In My Feelings together under the stars was an unexpected but unforgettable highlight. It was pretty amazing. The camp itself was really nice! We knew it would be cold in the desert but was surprised we had a heater and even WiFi. Still would recommend warm clothing if going in winter though. The remainder of the trip was made special by Omar, our wonderful guide. He taught us about life and culture in Morrocco. We are pretty cautious as two female travelers but Omar was polite and a gentleman. He helped us down mountains, took pictures for us, and protected us from aggressive sellers. He gave us insights on local vs tourist prices. He is just a pleasure in general. The only slight downside was that we agreed to pay by credit card in person prior to the trip but was told it was not available when we completed the trip. Since we did not have cash, we paid via PayPal which is fine but it incurs an excessive exchange fee if not using EUR. In any case, the tour price overall is reasonable and would still recommend :)
This trip was amazing! The first night at Desert Camp was wonderful, the place is outstanding and all the guys received us in a special way, we loved! The tends are big and really beautiful, the bathroom has a shower but with no hot water, in the winter is very cold, so be prepared. The dinner and the breakfest in the camp was gorgeous, the bad point in the camp was the weather, the tends should have an heater to provide a comfortable night. The hotel in the second night was very good, the rooms are clean, good bed and good shower. But the dinner is the highest point, absolutely outstanding, prepared by a really good chef. The driver Ibrahim and the guide Sahid are very nice giving us all the support at all the time, with a lot of knowledge about the visited places, critical and intelligent comments, excellent persons, safe driving, they are outstanding. We are very satisfied and certainly recommend this company.
At first, I was skeptical in joining the sahara desert safari as I don't like the idea of camping without basic necessarily amenities. However my partner was very keen to go and I finally agreed to take the trip. We selected the Sahara Desert Crew because of their excellent reviews and reasonable price. We took the small group tour but it turned out there were only 3 of us joining that day, so there was plenty of space in the car. Before we arrived at the desert, we had the option to ride the camel at night or in the morning (after sunrise). Considering its a long camel ride (approx 1.5 hours) and we were pretty tired from the long car ride, we decided to take the camel ride in the morning instead. Arriving at the desert, I was in awe at how luxurious the tent was. Their standard tents include: a comfortable queen bed, carpeted sand floor, ensuite bathroom and toilet (with hot water..!!). After bringing in our luggage, we were served delicious hot meals and treated to a performance of berber music and dancing around a campfire. The next day, everyone (but me) was ready for the camel ride. I did not to ride the camel as I have fear of heights, so i went with a 4x4 instead. Even though I didn’t ride the camel, I didn't feel like I was missing out as I was taken on an off-road jeep ride through the same sand dunes. During the three day trip, we were fortunate to see the “other side” of Morocco. It was a lot of driving, however we were lucky to have Moha (short for Mohammed) as our driver. Not only does he speak excellent english, he was very knowledgeable about each of the places we visited. He has a great sense of humour which made the long car ride more than bearable. Despite my previous hesitation, I have to say that the safari has been the highlight of my trip to Morocco and I would definitely recommend Sahara Desert Crew. Fatima & Ali Djelaba of Australia
