Itinerary
Day 1
1
Our start will be from Fes the Medina, where your driver/guide will pick you up from your Hotel.
Our expedition from Fes will commence as we traverse through Ifrane, a winter ski resort constructed by the French in the 1930s, designed to mimic the charm of a Swiss village.
Proceed by journeying through the cedar forest in Azrou, where you'll encounter monkeys, then traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains. Much of the day will be dedicated to navigating through stunning forests, springs, rugged rock formations, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and commence the descent towards the Sahara Desert.
At the midpoint, a lunch break awaits you in the town of Midelt, renowned for its fossils and rocks. Following this, the journey resumes towards Merzouga along the road.
Pause to take in a sweeping panoramic view of the vast oasis filled with palm trees before arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon. Following a refreshing mint tea break, your guide and camels will be ready to transport you across the sandy dunes of the erg-Chebbi. Revel in the splendor of the sunset during your camel ride, and after an hour's journey, you'll arrive at the desert camp to spend the night in an authentic Berber tent. At your desert abode, your camels are secured, and mint tea is graciously served. Conclude the evening with a delightful dinner, and as you lay beneath the desert sky, indulge in stargazing until you drift into a peaceful sleep.

My female solo experience was great. It was a long way to the desert but our driver Mustafa made it comfortable. Big thanks to Yassine, our camel ride provider. The dinner and breakfast were good too. In addition, I enjoyed my tent where it was cozy and very clean.
Great experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.
A really well organised trip, the camel ride was fabulous but the evening was what made this really special! A wonderful time spent round the campfire with traditional music and dancing under the most spectacular stars. It was amazing to feel so free
• Hotel pickup was unavailable; they sent an alternative meeting spot at 1am on the tour day • Lunch is an overpriced rip-off. bring your own food. • Persistent sellers will pressure you to tip/buy unwanted items. • The return bus dropped us off far from the agreed location.
Tour was great. Said was on time and gave us so much information on the drive. He made the long drive easy
Hamid was our driver throughout the desert tour, and he was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend that anyone taking this tour specifically request him if possible. He was an excellent driver—very considerate, kind, and always checking in to see if we wanted to stop for water, food, or a restroom break. His driving was phenomenal, and we never once felt unsafe during the journey. Hamid was also very friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. He made the experience even more enjoyable with his positive attitude and professionalism. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver and guide.
Thanks to Mohammed, I was able to better understand the country beyond the tourist attractions. His insights, patience, and good sense of humor made the journey even more enjoyable.
This excursion was well organized and although an unexpected sandstorm blew in and tainted aspects of the experience, the guides did a pretty good job salvaging things and keeping us on course for a good time. The evening meal was tasty and the entertainment delightful. We were pretty tired after the ordeal of the sandstorm though and were glad that they kept it fairly short. Breakfast the next morning was good and they were efficient in routing everyone on their individual paths. Our return driver, Moustafa was a delight. My friend and I sat in the front seat and he made the ride back to Fes go by quickly with his quick sense of humor and perks along the way.
Nice ride with Omar, so pacient and on time!
Solo female traveller and it was great. Houcin was my driver both ways and honestly he was amazing, he really took care of me, making sure I was ok at all times. Updates us on the journey, answered all questions we all had whilst driving there about places etc. I honestly couldn’t fault him. Thank you. We arrived at the camp after the long journey and that was a great experience, a little waiting around in a hotel near the camp before the camel ride whilst we waited for others. Left bags which they took to the camp and then left for the Camel ride and sand boarding which was great fun whilst watching the sunset. Camel ride back to the desert after sunset was beautiful. Camp was amazing, amazing tents and big beds. Had about 45 mins before dinner to get showered etc. Food was good, could have done with some sweet treats after rather than just fruit. There was no Moroccan mint tea, which I was really looking forward to 😔 There could have been some music (Moroccan) on whilst having dinner to create more of an atmosphere. It was very quiet. After dinner they played some music on local instruments and danced which we joined in which was nice and finished around 10.45/11pm. A campfire would have been nice. Tents were comfortable and hot water for shower which was great 😊 6am for sunset which was incredible- I just watched by myself, no activies for me but was offered the night before. Breakfast was typically Moroccan and was yummy and there was mint Moroccan tea 🙏🏽 After breakfast at 7am, we then left at 8am to meet the main car with my driver in it at the main road. Both journeys were good, very long but stops along the way and lunches were yummy and around 100-150DHS depending on what you had. Overall the experience was great. 😊
Not really a 2 day desert tour. First day was 8 hours driving, arriving at 1800 for an evening of 2 camel rides, 30 mins on a sand dune, and dinner at 2130. There were no social ativities/entertainment in the evening - only a fire pit that remained unlit. We received no communication about morning plans and were given short notice to leave the camp by 0800. Second day was a 9 hour drive to Marrakech. Both trips were comfortable and involved multiple nice stops at cafes throughout Morocco. Staff were lovely and accomodating and very helpful in retrieving a lost pair of glasses. Nice experience but very devoid of actual activity, particularly given the price and description.
Absolutely amazing, the people are extremely nice and friendly. Had a lot of fun with friends and everything is as advertised. Yazid and Said were really fun to have as guides, 100% recommended. We were 1 day in the dessert and stayed in the tents, no complaints. And the next day we headed to Marrakech.
Really good experience, very welcoming people, a really fun cultural exchange, 100% recommended, everybody should do it at least one time in their life
Amazing experience, beautiful landscapes. The tents were in perfect state and comfort. Our guides were really kind and dedicated. Our drivers Said and Yazid were truly amazing and got us through the long drive smoothly with zero complications.
So glad I chose to get out of the city and see some of the country. This trip was way more than just going to the desert and Hamid was an excellent host!
I went to the tour with Imad 14 and did the 2 day tour from Fes with Camel Ride. He was incredibly friendly to me and my 3 friends, and I was able to see so much during my tour. I felt so welcomed and have never gotten such hospitality from a tour guide. We had beautiful views and stops on the way to Fes. I truly recommend this tour!!! It was only $115 per person, best $115 I’ve ever spent.
Imad was the best tour guide ever!!! Honestly had a blast! He had a tight schedule in order to keep things running smoothly which I bet we all appreciate. He was really funny and it was a blast being around him. My group was also pretty fun.
Emad14 was our driver from Fes-Merzouga and back. We sat in front and even with the English-French language barrier, Emad was great company
The stay in the camping grounds was better than I expected . The tents are clean and very comfortable . The camel ride to watch the sunset was really nice. Cons: Too many people and too little food. Transport was very uncomfortable, the company was able to arrange private transport quite fast for an extra charge and that was quite good .
We liked our two day trip to the desert and highlights were the camel ride during the sunset. Some aspects that were disappointing were: 1) no hot water despite reserving the VIP option; 2) below average lunches during the trip to Merzouga and back to Marrakesh; and, 3) cramped and uncomfortable bus from Merzouga to Marrakesh.
best trip ever! went with my study abroad friends and drove with Pedro who was super fun. he allowed us to request music and took us to see a bunch of cool spots!! food was also amazing. the campsite was beautiful as well! thank you pedro and youssef!
Awesome experience, but the organization could be improved. We were a group of 9. The evening before the start, the tour operator contacted me to tell that 8 of us will go with one car and 1 with another one. Because I haven't accepted this split, they moved our pickup 30 min earlier. This wouldn't be a problem, but in the morning, we got in the car on time, but the car haven't moved at all for more than 30 min. The luxury tents we have chosen to stay over night, because they supposed to have air condition, didn't have air condition. When you pay 50% more to have air condition and you don't have, you are not so happy about that. In the evening, when we went to the dining tent, we got surprised to find a lot more people that our tent area could accomodate. We found a free table having enough places for all of us, but after we sat down at this table, we"ve been moved by the "hall manager" and split us between other persons at other tables. We just wanted to stay together. After a few more argues they let us stayed at the initial table. Until the end of the dinner no other group of persons have come, so we found no reason to keep that table occupied. Riding the camel in the desert was very nice and it is definitely a different experience than riding a came in the city or village. Watching the sunset over the sand dunes was very beautiful. And doing sandboarding for the first time was a really interesting experience. After we took dinner, we enjoyed staying near the fire and listening the berbers singing. We've been invited to join dancing around the fire. In the morning, we got the chance to drive the quadbikes and watch the sunrise over the sand dunes. We didn't mind to pay extra for this, because it was an awesome experience and I would do it again. All in one, I would book this tour again, but I don't think I would choose the luxury tent again.
We had a really nice trip and a great drive to Merzouga with Said. The Camp was amazing and it had a great atmosphere with evening entertainment. Would really recommend going on this trip.
Our driver, Imad, was amazing! We had the best time. We did the two-day excursion with the private tent and it was perfect.
They took care of us the entire time. Very good service. Mohammed our guide was very friendly and very informative.
We loved this experience so much. It was an amazing trip and such good food. We also loved our tour guide Aimed who was so knowledgeable and nice.
This was probably one of the best trips I have ever been on. Our guide Amied was absolutely amazing! He told us so much about what we were seeing and made sure that we had a great time! He made the drive seem so quick and let us stop to take so many photos!
Amazing experience! Aimed was so friendly and kind. Me and my friends had so much fun we stayed in a very nice tent for one night. Super fun riding camels and sand boarding! Highly recommend to anyone!!
Had a great time. Aimed our driver was awesome. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Got to see a lot on the drive and the desert was amazing.
Excellent trip organization. We were picked up by a minibus right at the hotel. The desert tents were comfortable, the dinner and breakfast were good, and I highly recommend this particular tour
It was a nice trip from fes to Marrakech vía Merzouga. The Desert camp and the experience was wonderful. The dinner was a nice morroccan treat. Our choffer Said did really great, explaining on our way and driving nicely. To improve on. The on the way stop especially on the first day for lunch was not so good.you could look for a better one were the travelers could opt for rather than a buffet type. The second day stay in ourzazate hotel , they could put drinking water for dinner and breakfast. Thanks again to Said for taking us safely to Marrakech and managing the trip.
I did transportation with them and Mohammad went above and beyond to take care of me. As I missed my bus . Job welcome. Thank you
We spent two amazing days, the pics of the tour can't suggest how special this small trip is! We were a group of friends and was very fun for us. If you're looking for a luxury experience this isn't for you, but if you are looking for a experience that give you a sip of Morocco with kind and warm people I would really recommend this tour. Special mention for the two Omar (the car guide and the guide of our camp). Thank you guys!
The trip with Omar was very smooth. He was extremely kind and thoughtful, announcing each stop well in advance of getting there. He would also provide helpful and interesting information about each place. Overall, I cannot recommend enough!
Omar our driver was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly and we stopped in some very interesting places along the way to the desert near Marazouga. My party was that of three but eventually we were actually part of a group of around 10 people from different countries and we all got along very well! Once we arrived at Sandfish we had an amazing time with the camels going into the desert in near perfect weather. The dinner served was very filling and tasty and the views were spectacular. Watching both the sunset and the sunrise was worth it for the price alone. Highly recommended.
Good Omar and not too many people. I enjoyed. Everyone was super nice. ...............................................................
We had our trip with Omar, it was a really nice journey towards the Merzouga Desert, i recommend everyone to try it. Everything was perfect
It was really great tour, everybody is very kind and hospitable. Food is good and enough quality. Imed Mohamed was a very nice funny driver. I loved the dessert.
Amazing tour. We easily had the best van quality of all the other tours. It even had wifi. Omar our driver/guide was fantastic with great english. Only downside was the chosen spot for lunch was an absolute tourist trap.
Omar was a wonderful tour guide! He was informed, passionate about his duty on the job, and was friendly and welcoming. Although the trip was about seven hours from Merzouga to Feś, it went by quick and smoothly! 👌
Manzil Dades made our trip memorable. Our guide Omar from Sahara to Fes was wonderful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this operator.
It was a refreshing experience where program timelines were explained clearly. Nicely arranged and managed. Omar was a good guide & driver who was courteous and knowledgeable.
Omara was a great guide and got us safely to and from the desert to Fes. Very reliable and safe option for travelling between the two places if you are in this area of Morocco
Omar is a very nice person. He drove us till the desert and back, giving us suggestions, help, and curiosities of the places we were passing by, always smiling even after 10 or more hours of driving. 5 stars well deserved!
From Merzouga to Fez. It was a comfortable ride with beautiful stops and cheerful music. Many Thanks to Rashid. I recommend.
Rachid is an excellent driver and transferred us from Merzouga to Fes safely and quickly, and we are an hour and a half ahead of our schedule. He also phoned up our Riad and dropped nearby so that we didn't have to look around with our luggage.
Had a good time during the trip. Rachid planned it all very well and made the trip very comfortable and nice with nice places to stop, and good music.
Our trip from Merzouga to Fez with Rachid was fantastic! Rachid is very attentive and funny. He also showed us several beautiful places and provided us with information. We especially enjoyed the music in the car! Excellent driver.
I want to break down this review in multiple points. First, our driver was very pleasant and made sure we stopped enough throughout the long journey to rest. The van was spacious, and had AC. It was a bit hot at times, but considering the 40*C weather outside it was manageable. The food overall was okay. One of the lunch spots however was not good and quality/ price was disappointing. The camel ride was beautiful, and seeing the desert was an incredible experience. We met lovely people on the trip. The rooms were fine, a bit dirty and no light. The bathroom was also dirty, and no toilet paper. We unfortunately witnessed a couple who complained about the dirty sheets, and the worker/manager reacted really poorly and aggressively. It was an unpleasant situation that could have been resolved easily, if it weren’t for the rude unprofessional reaction. Bring water, as they don’t provide it, and buying it at camp is double the price.
