Riad Fes El Bali

A great location in the heart of the Medina not far from "The Blue Gate." A bit hidden on first approach but easy to return to after that. Our top floor room was up four flights of treacherous steps, but that only added to the authentic Riad feeling. Beautiful tile, wood, and plaster throughout, and our room was nicely decorated with local touches. The common areas were not extensive but quite comfortable and our hosts were welcoming if not warm. The Wifi signal was weak in our top floor room and the bandwidth was lacking throughout the facility. A comfortable stay in an enjoyable city.

I am very happy of my experience at Riad dar el bali! To know Michel and Katherine! A fantastic and special people!. Always on the look out for any issues we might have and managing them promptly a smile and we always feell safe like my house! And the riad is fantastic! In a center of Medina, the Best place to know a fantastic Medina! And the riad Dar el Bali save hites in the cover of its fantastic courtyard one of the wonder of the whole Medina! Without a doubt I 'd come back! 😀

Edit 21.11.2024: As you can see below and below other reviews here from few years ago - manager of this place try to convince me to delete my review. This place was that time named Dar Elbalia and it was the worst experience I had in Morocco (exact date of my reservation was 2.06-3.06.2018 and I still have a confirmation on Booking). If the owner, name of the riad, look etc changed - create a new google profile and start fairly. Because I was there 6 years ago and that’s fact you can’t deny. My experience didn’t vanish after you changed something. Edit 2: I can see now below the Claire F’s review that the same manager claims that they opened the pensionat in 2012 so this is all lies. I was there in 2018. (I have a screen shot so don’t try to delete it) Edit 3: I don’t care about your lies. Earlier this google account was named Dar Elbalia and it is easy to check. Fortunately, more and more people see my opinion and how beautiful is your approach to a client (and to an other human generally).

My family and I stayed at Dar El Bali for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The Dar is gorgeous; beautiful original tiles and doors and intricate ceilings. We stayed in the Fatima Mernissi suite and it was perfect for 3 people. The room was spacious. The dar is also in a great location central to the medina with a short walk to the Blue Gate. Elodie, Cathy and Michel are gracious hosts; they have great recommendations and go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend!
