Not a bad place. Rooms were clean. However, there were Issues with some of our group: AC not working, room key issues. Breakfast was confusing, no staff to help. Tables not set aside for our group, while others were set up. Food was not refilled for quite some time. The bathrooms needs updating. However, once staff was found, service was good. I want to score this higher, it is a great vibe, but I really can't, with all of the issues.
Wifi in the rooms is quite poor, I can't even do my mobile game dailies. Based on the noise, it's located near a train station and under an airplane route. Window sound insulation is poor, I can hear the guests in the garden talking and chicken sounds??? The dinner in the buffer hall was tasty, but very very crowded and noisy. I think that tomorrow I will skip it, even though for us it's included in the tour price. The water in the toilet keeps running. There was no complimentary water and no kettle. Breakfast options are barely warm baked beans (with some black soot from where they were burned), barely warm scrambled eggs, rice, roasted tomatoes, salads from yesterday's dinner, cut cheese and meat (1 of each), bread. No yoghurt, no cottage cheese, no cereal, no milk. Edit: upgrading from 2 to 3 stars because they fixed the internet after I complained at the reception.
This hotel leaves a lot to be desired for weary travelers. In this day of electronic devices, there are very few outlets to charge things. I found one for my phone and one for my (not in the bathroom) to charge my electric toothbrush. In fact, I didn’t find any outlets to use in the bathroom, which means I can’t use my blow dryer - or flat iron - for that matter, and the hotel dryer is completely inadequate. And there are no soap - hand or body - or shampoo or lotion - no toiletries, in the bathroom. I also bought a glass of wine at the small bar right outside the restaurant and took it in to the dining room where I had only a quick bite of salad at the dinner buffet. After finishing my salad, I drank my last sip of wine , I walked out of the dining room intending to get a refill of my glass to take up to my room. A server came running out after me, yelling at me, pointing at the glass. I didn’t understand what she meant, but showed her the receipt for the wine I’d purchased. That and the bartender calming her down finally convinced her, but she grabbed the glass from my hand and walked away with it. I didn’t say anything- I thought the bartender would have another wine glass, but he didn’t,and served my wine in a weird cut glass sort of cordial cup. Awkward. When I got back to my room, I had hoped to wash out a few pairs of underwear, also made difficult by the fact that the stopper for the sink was the wrong size. I had been on a bus for several hours traveling here from another part of the country and really expected and would have liked my travel needs to be met better.
Inexplicably, the street this hotel is on has two hotels with the same name! The other is unknown to me, other than it has a Sky Bar, but no outside pool. The hotel we stayed at is a little further up the street, and has lots of outside space, including a large, clean pool (& a smaller one). It seems obvious that some people are, understandably, reviewing the wrong hotel! This one is pleasant and we've found the staff polite and helpful. Food is OK, though mealtimes in the buffet restaurant can be chaotic. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a well appointed bathroom and a fridge. Beds are firm (seems to be the case across Morocco) but fine. Downsides: no light on the balcony (seemed true of most of them), no bottled water in the room, service can be leisurely. Temperamental flush in the bathroom. Upsides: decent location, not far from a large mall and the main boulevard. Room and public spaces were clean. Attentive young man serving by the pool Helpful porters. Alcohol is available . Overall a pleasant two night stay on our Cosmos tour.
