Amazing little get away when I have business in Erfurt. One of my favorite parts is the differnt food activities such as tonight with the Tuesday night barbecues! ONLY eight opportunities and Im lucky enought to be able to attend two of them! Thank you Susann for making extra special with the "Chronic" of the Hotel Elephant!
A really lovely 5 star hotel in the best location in Weimar, on the main square, with a private garden at the rear where you can breakfast on warm days. The buffet breakfast is high quality, but expensive. The rooms are generous. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. My one complaint is the shower. The enclosure was small, despite the large bathroom. The controls were at the back, rather than the side as they should be - so you get wet testing the shower for tempersture. And when are hotels in mainland Europe going to discover thermostatic showers which are the norm in most of the world?
Excellent location, steeped in history. Lovely rooms and a well equipped sauna room that’s hidden. The restaurant is a real gem. I enjoyed dinner and excellent German wines. The breakfast was outstanding as well. Very helpful service from everyone I encountered. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area.
A stunning hotel, both in terms of the building itself and the decor… EXCEPT… who on earth thought that the electronic dance music playing in the lobby was in any way appropriate? To me it felt like an insult to those who created this wonderful place. I stayed here some years ago and enjoyed the Christmas market in the square but if I weee staying here today I would be in a protracted battle with the management over the music choice.
Very nice hotel. Historic. Beautiful old building. Location is incredible, especially to attend the Christmas Market right out the front door. Restaurants, bars and shopping literally around the corner. Check in was easy and friendly. Staff were very kind. Lounge is comfy. We used Bonvoy points so I can’t comment on pricing. Car park on site for 22€ for overnight. Our room was 114. Upgraded due to being a Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member. Breakfast was included for our status level, a good buffet or you could order from a small selection. Presentation of foods looked very nice! I do wish they offered more plant based options. It was heavily meat based. There was Oat ‘milk’ offered for my coffee. Room was luxurious. Nice robes and linens. Extremely quiet. Garden view. Balcony off our room but it was cold and rainy so we couldn’t use.
