Laico Lake Victoria Hotel

Despite the wonderful location and a beautiful pool area, my experience at this hotel has been very disappointing. This is my second stay here, and unfortunately, the same issue has happened again — the key card constantly stops working. Every time I want to access the pool or go to the restaurant, I have to return to reception to reactivate it. It is extremely inconvenient and frustrating. What is even more concerning is the staff’s attitude. When I asked whether they are aware of this recurring problem, I received neither an explanation nor an apology — not during my first stay, and not this time either. I was simply ignored. Today, I requested a comb from the amenities over the phone, and I was told they don’t have any. The receptionist (who introduced himself as Brian, although I am not sure if this was his real name) was particularly rude and made no effort to assist or offer an alternative. It’s a shame, because the hotel itself has great potential, but the lack of basic service and professionalism from the staff seriously affects the overall experience.

Thank you to the staff of this hotel for the most wonderful stay!! The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable (nice mattresses, mosquito nets, desk, nice TV, sitting area, spacious bathroom), food is incredible, and the outdoor area is well maintained with a super fun pool and diving board. The hotel also has a free shuttle that will take you to the airport! I definitely recommend staying here.

Where to begin..? I am an American Peace Corps volunteer who spent a great deal of time at this hotel during the turbulent election season of Uganda. The staff were outstanding in service and skill. They did not skip a beat in providing luxurious comfort. The pool, gym and spa are a tremendously clean and convenient distraction. The food is immeasurably delectable and I genuinely could not wait for the next meal. I in no way regret the weight gain from the dozens of sensational and creative recipes that had no repetition in the seemingly fathomless buffet provided to my entire group of colleagues with precise timeliness down to a very moment. If you are looking for a truly therapeutic experience in the south of Uganda, particularly directly before or after your journey through Entebbe International Airport, I full heartedly implore that you must indulge in a meal and meticulously crafted cocktail at the very least. Lake Victoria Grenada Hotel is an absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff was fantastic and accommodating to our request. One of the staff members who maintained the pool, even went above and beyond to find my wife's earring which was lost in the pool! The food was incredible as well with a great selection of food for their breakfast buffet. Shout-out to the omelet station crew and bakers for the delicious pastries. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay! We will be returning again!
