Waking up to the crater lake views at Crater Safari Lodge felt absolutely magical from the very first morning. The chalet was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The chimpanzee trekking experience near Kibale National Park was truly unforgettable and well organized. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the stay. It’s the kind of place that leaves you wanting to return again.
Amazing stay with a wonderful staff and views! We were fortunate to be the only guests in the hotel and the staff was more than amazing. They offered to do laundry and clean our boots after the Chimp trek. Geoffrey deserves a shout out for being such a kind host!! The room was beautiful with some insane views of the crater, they also had a pool that we enjoyed the first day and food was a la carte with delicious options. I would highly recommend for people doing Chimp Treks.
We spent two very pleasant nights here. The rooms are beautiful, and the view of the lake is stunning. It's very close to Kibale National Park, and the hotel can help you arrange a guide for activities. The pool is gorgeous, and my favorite moment of the visit was floating in the pool while watching the sunset over the lake. The food was mostly very good, although the quality of service did vary from meal to meal. But some of the dishes were outstanding, like the avocado salad and the grilled tilapia. I was a little shocked at the cost of the wine -- a glass of mystery white wine (they couldn't tell me what kind it was) was $12.50. And the rooms are a bit overpriced, especially the larger villas. For the price, I was disappointed that it had a couple broken floorboards and a leaky tub. But you know, it was gorgeous, and the view was probably worth the extra money.
