Our tour guide, Aura, was awesome! She was great at communicating through txt and picked us up on time. el Valle de Antón is about 2 hours away from the city center, so she kept us entertained with Panama facts and knowledge. When we arrived to Anton she kept it open for us to do anything we wanted. We selected a short hike, zip lining, and the natural pools. Then lunch and a short walk to the city’s market. Overall it was great time!!!

Absolutely an amazing day! From the communication the day before about pick up to the morning, pick up itself, Aura made a great impression before the tour even began! She was absolutely a delight to spend this lovely day with. The ride from Panama City is absolutely gorgeous. And as you start to go up the side of the volcano, every turn reveals a new and wondrous view. We thoroughly enjoyed and were transfixed by seeing the frogs and the butterflies, little stops that are just simply a joy. It rained while we were at the butterfly house, which gave us the really fun opportunity to look for butterflies that were using the plant leaves as umbrellas. It was all very magical. Despite my personal fear and distrust of heights, we went on the zip line experience and I am so glad I did! The equipment and the two zip line guides were very professional and I felt secure and safe the entire time. A special treat was being dangled for a small bit on one of the zip lines as it came to a stop so that we could get a great view of the waterfall across from us. While we were walking from zip line to zip line we saw a sloth in a tree above. Aura found us the most amazing local small restaurant where we had really scrumptious chicken soup with rice, some of the best I’ve ever had. After that, we went to the termal waters and Aura went above and beyond, the first location was closed, and she found us one that was open. This was the perfect end to a really long day, and we still had an unspeakably lovely drive back into the cities. An amazing day with an equally amazing guide.
Great day with our guide Edoardo Very nice and full of knowledge good English and beautiful places and views We really enjoy our time and I recommend everyone to do totrip
We had an amazing and memorable time with our guide Jordi! He was extremely kind and accommodating. We really enjoyed the challenging hike at Valle de Anton and the Thermal Springs. He also carried us to some amazing food spots. Would definitely recommend.
We thought this was going to be a group tour, so we were quite surprised, when the guide arrived and informed us it was a private tour. Needless to say, Jorge was absolutely amazing! He arrived at the exact time he told us he would and made sure that he had ample water for us. He was so knowledgeable and hospitable! He definitely went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He took us on the hike of our lives and even went up to the top with us. Everything about the tour was amazing! I highly recommend this tour if you visit Panamá. And you MUST ask for Jorge!
We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion with Aura as our guide! She was very knowledgeable and informative, and was very fluent in English. Since this was a private tour, she focused on our preferences and needs rather than a fixed schedule. She was very personable, and we enjoyed her company. It was a terrific tour! Would highly recommend!
We had a private tour with the guide Carlos. Carlos is a great guide who we strongly recommend. He tells stories with a very funny way, listen to the customers, propose individual solutions and spending time with him was great. We have possibilities to admire the beauty of the rain forrest, the waterfall, spent a great time watching butterflies and finally went to a beautiful beach.
Aura was a great guide. She adjusted the time of the tour to accommodate us. She asked us exactly what our priorities were and what we wanted to see. She coordinated the times perfectly so that we did not have to deal with crowded bus tours. She also arranged a special visit at the zoo which made my day/year/bucket list. She even took great photos along the way and shared them with us. She’s also a great driver. Thanks so much Aura.
First off, our tour guide was GREAT. It was a private tour -- only our family. Unexpectedly, we were given a choice of those places on the tour description that we wanted to go to. It dawned on me that was why the entry fees to the various places were not included. We did the hike (haha, it was a climb) up the mountain - our 27 yo daughter who is an experienced hiker and rock climber went like a mountain goat. Her 70 yo parents found it a bit more diffficult, although we are both in pretty good shape and made it up. We also went to the Butterfly Haven, which was low key and nice. The only part of the tour that was disappointing was the Thermal Hot Springs. They weren't hot, there were mainly kids in them, and they didn't seem very clean. Personally, I'd skip that activity. It was a long but satisfying day.
Billy, our guide from Embera Tours, was wonderful. Jovial, timely, and gracious with our family. His English was great and he knew so much about Panama. He let us determine the agenda of the trip, and we chose to visit the Serpentario, the Butterfly Haven, lunch at a sit down restaurant, and then the Nispero Zoo. It was ~2 hrs drive from Panama City to El Valle and 2.5 hrs back. There is no way to fit in all the items included on the sample itinerary, including hikes to waterfalls, hot springs, zip lines, etc. ALSO in the 3.5 hrs that isn't driving time. So while it says 8 hrs, participants should account for the driving time and adjust expectations accordingly. Billy was a great guide and we recommend him highly.
Aura is amazing! She went out of her way to make our day special. Very accommodating and catered to our every whim! We saw sloths , a waterfall, the market , ziplining and all the beautiful scenery. I cannot say enough great things about her!
The private tour was really great. Our tour guide Eduardo gave us a full experience of el Valle de Antón. He did a really good job at explaining everything and showing us around. We can only recommend booking this tour.
This tour to El Valle was amazing, Aura was a fantastic tour guide. Her english was excellent and she's very knowledgeable. We loved everything, the butterfly enclosure, the hike in the mountains and the swim in the natural pool. Our paella lunch was absolutely delicious and they served the biggest tequila shots we have ever seen. I would highly recommend.
What an interesting, fun & enjoyable experience with our wonderful guide Charlie. We loved seeing the beautiful sights, learning about the local history & felt well cared for during our day long outing.
Heavenly is amazing. Such a nice and genuine person. The tour was amazing. Very relaxing. The parks, sites, and food amazing. Would highly recommend. And will rebook with her when we return. 10/10!
We had a great time! Charles knows his stuff and has a good sense of humor. Would definitely do again!
We had the most delightful experience with our guide Heavenly. She gave us a very detailed history of Panama City as we drive through the city heading for Valle de Anton, then the history of Panama most of the way there. We visited a beautiful butterfly sanctuary. We then enjoyed the sight of the waterfalls and a dip in the pool adjoining the falls. Sitting in the hot springs was enjoyable too. She was very proud to show off the market when we left the waters behind. Not a disappointment at all. Mmmmm, those fruits. Delightful. Also got crafts there.
Heavenly lives up to her name! She is so knowledgeable, fun, and tailors the experience to your desires! We had an unforgettable day and learned so much about Panamanian history, foods, flora, and fauna. We saw butterflies, went for a swim, hiked through the jungle, went zip-lining by a waterfall, and ate authentic Panamanian foods. Heavenly is one of the best guides we have had anywhere in the world. Wonderful way to experience Panama like a local!
I had an absolute blast on my tour to Anton Valley, Panama, yesterday! Our tour guide, Heavenly, was absolutely fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel like part of the family. We got to experience the thrill of ziplining for the first time, and it was exhilarating! The Mariposario was a beautiful spot to see all the butterflies up close, and the natural spring was the perfect way to relax and unwind. Heavenly's expertise and warm personality made the whole experience truly unforgettable. If you're looking for a fun and memorable adventure in Panama, I highly recommend this tour! 🌴🇵🇦"
This was a fun experience, Charlie took us all around and made the day such an adventure. Charlie was passionate and informative about panama. He’s wonderful and truly I would do any activity with Charlie! I would recommend this excursion.
Due to cancellations of other excursions I Booked this tour very last minute and Charlie was very entertaining and accommodating had a great day and learned a lot about the culture.
When we first met our tour guide and he said to call him Mr Ed (like the horse on tv), we thought, great! He has a good sense of humor. He told us he was a teacher so we thought, great! We will really learn from him! It turned out to be not so great. What we thought would be a 1.5-2 hr drive was over 3. I appreciate a careful driver but we were being passed on all sides like we were standing still. (There was a detour due to a road closure which was not his fault but that should have set us back only a few minutes.) The bigger issue was that once we got to El Valle he had no idea where anything was or what was on the itinerary. We went to the waterfall first, and swam in the natural pool. When we got out he asked if we were done already, and we said we weren’t sure how much time we could spend because there was so much more to see. He said “I’ll manage the time” so we trusted. He asked if we wanted to stop at the market. Since we had booked the tour on a Sunday specifically because it mentioned the “Sunday market” in the itinerary, we said yes. We asked how long we had he said “I’ll manage the time” Next we went to the hot springs. Again when we asked how much time we had he said “I’ll manage the time”. When we rejoined him after the hot springs we said we would like to stop for lunch. He wanted to go to a restaurant owned by his Russian friend, but he wasn’t quite sure of the name or where it was. He asked a couple of different people for directions. We told him it was ok if we went somewhere else and started looking up restaurants (we told him we needed something with vegetarian options). When we finally found where the restaurant was supposed to be, the name was different and it was closed. I gave him the name of the first place that popped up when I googled vegetarian near me. I gave him the name and address and even handed him my phone with the directions. He called the restaurant and kept them on the phone the whole time while they navigated him. While at lunch (it was now past 2 pm) I looked up the remaining places on the itinerary and found they all close at 4 pm. He kept saying he would manage the time and it took me several attempts to get him to understand that the places would be closed. After lunch we went to the butterfly sanctuary and didn’t rush because there was no point in trying to go to the zoo or the serpentaria at that point. He seemed very confused most of the day. We asked for the air conditioning in the car to be turned on (as the tour stated “an air conditioned vehicle) and he seemed surprised we would prefer that as he clearly would rather have the windows open. We said we would try it, so the windows were open which made it hard for him to hear our questions so we gave up trying to ask. At no point were we offered water or snacks as advertised (luckily we had our own). If I could do it again, I would rent a car and go to El Valle on our own. We definitely enjoyed the activities but dealing with Mr Ed was frustrating.
Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable. Wish the hike was longer but the waterfall and jungle were pretty. The Mineral springs were relaxing.
It was a wonderful excursion. Charlie was a great guide who gave us a ton of great information about Panama and Valle De Anton. It sits inside an extinct volcano and has a lot to do there. They have a nice thermal pool we relaxed in. We enjoyed the short rainforest hike to a gorgeous waterfall that we crossed hanging bridges to get to. The zoo was also very nice. We will for sure be back to use Panamanian Adventures again!
Our guide was wonderful but the place itself was not really worth the long commute… the “hot spring” was tiny.. barely the size of a jacuzzi!
I had Ricky as a guide and he was outstanding! Super attentive, very clear and predisposed to all my consultations. The Valley is a place we definitely have to go sometime in our lives. Enjoy nature, climb sleeping India and end up in the baths to relax after such a wonder. The village is very beautiful! Worth it!!!!
Varied program and a very nice guide who besides a lot of info also gave a lot of fun. Don't forget your swimwear for the waterfalls and/or thermal springs.
