Setting out from the edge of El Chaltén, this rewarding trek begins with a steady climb — a 350-meter ascent over the first 90 minutes — before revealing the first breathtaking lookout over Mount Fitz Roy, flanked by the dramatic peaks of Poincenot, Saint Exupéry, Mermoz, and Guillaumet. A further 15 minutes brings you to the base camp of Monte Capri and the jewel of the hike: Laguna Capri, a stunning glacial lake framed by ancient forest and the iconic silhouette of Fitz Roy reflected in its waters.
