Great tour host! Spoke everything in Spanish & English. Tour covered a lot of area and some gorgeous terrain. Excellent and efficient way to see El Chalten on a short timeline.

El Chalten Full-Day from El Calafate with Lunch is an excellent day tour of EL Chalten from El Calafate. We were able to see the Andes Mountains, a waterfall, and condors. We also encountered the first snow of the season. Although we booked late (the day before the tour), the tour was able to accommodate my vegetarian requirements for lunch.
Would not repeat or recommend this booking for the following reasons: 1. this tour is a combination of three different services. There’s those who are going for one day with the hopes of hiking. There is another group that split off with the guide and we never found out what kind of tour they were doing. And normal transfers between the two towns for people who are being dropped off at separate hotels. this means that a lot of time is going to be wasted, picking and dropping off people. we were promised pick up at 7:30 AM and we left town around 8:30 AM. this is important, because if you really wish to do a decent hike in El Chalten to see Mark Fitzroy from the viewing point, you do need a good amount of time and this chews into it. we left El Chalten 5pm. 2. The tour states there’s an “expert trekking guide“ to help us choose the right trail. We had no one! the English-speaking guide left about 10-15 minutes prior to final drop off point with the another group. We were left with the driver who spoke no English. We had to get help from a store owner to tell us where is the hiking trail and roughly how long it will take. 3. The box lunch is just a ham sandwich and a small bottle of water. If you don’t eat meat , they’re just gonna put a slice of cheese and a tomato in there. We threw it a away and bought food after a short hike. there’s plenty of restaurants there. this was basically an expensive transfer service between El Calafate in El Chalten. I recommend either renting a car or getting a private car to take you directly there early so you can have enough time to trek all the way to the lake where you can have a great viewpoint of Fitzroy. On this tour you have a maximum of four hours of free time which is not enough.
This was not listed as the hike that you could take in a day but thanks to some good reviewers who explained that you could even stay in the town of El Chalten for the day, we decided to take this trip and we are glad we did. They picked us up promptly and were very organized as we had to pick up people in many parts of El Calafate. The driver (Alejandro) and our guide (Juan) were very professional and seemed to enjoy giving us this tour. The day was beautiful. When we left they explained to us that the long hike could not be done for the return in the evening but there was shorter 5 hour hikes, plus some people were just paying for the trip up to the town of El Chalten to stay and hike for a few days. The trip through the steppes of Argentina was very interesting and never boring. Many animals and interesting facts and stories from Juan. During the trip out and back we were well informed and taken care of. Since we are active but older we were very happy to take the shorter hike and return the same way seeing views of the river, forested areas and mountains. Really beautiful and we were thrilled to see Fitzroy early and as we drove closer to the town. Unfortunatly the town does not have views of the mountain and is not charming, mostly full of places to stay while hiking and an assortment of places to eat and get postcards etc. Since we did the short hike they gave us a sack lunch to take with us. There wasn't a guide but it wasn't needed. The trail is easy to find and follow and there were enough people around. All around a memorable day!
Awesome tour! Pick up was on time and the guide made sure everything run smoothly. Drop off was in a restaurant close to the entrance of the park. I LOVED the free time to hike on my own pace! There are several trails to choose and the views are stunning! Meeting point to go back to El Calafate was at the tour office building a bit far from the entrance of the park, giving you the opportunity to see the town with lots of restaurants, bars and souvenirs shops.
I have to start saying we didn't have the right shoes, still finished first from our group. We also ran out of water in the way up (take plenty of water and energy snacks) the walking is challenging but you can pase yourself. One of our tour guides had an accident and we had to slow down more. One thing I didn't like is other guides, they are very PUSHY. On the last 30 min uphill was all snow and due to the wrong shoes we were very slow, but the other guides were pushing us to go faster and we were close of falling many times. Overall very nice...
I don’t like this activities and it’s just spend my money. Because it’s ordinary mountains and even my country has more than beautiful places and mountains 😭
We booked this through Tangol Tours and we are glad we did. Before the trip they answered all our questions promptly. The tour was perfectly planned and the bus was extremely comfortable. They picked us up right on time at our hotel. The best part though was Anna our guide for both this trip and another day to the glacier. She was informative and filled with great recommendations on how to plan our time away from the bus. We took the long hike at El Chalten including the loop - Picture perfect view and a magnificent hike - We even had time for a craft beer in town afterwards .
We really enjoyed this tour even though we did the 5 mile hike and there were clouds in front of Mount Fitz Roy. Juan's English was excellent and he shared so much history that the long ride went very fast. Pick up at our Hostel was also a plus.
The hiking and the lagoon are great, not sure if the 5 hour transit time from El Calafate worth it and if you add that the air conditioned at the bus was not working the trip could be unconfortable. The tour guide, even a kind person, she was not near a professional tour guide; her English was terrible and the explanations in Spanish were not much better.

This was one of our 5 all day excursions we booked in El Calafate. Overall, it was a good tour and we enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend. Pick up was later than 9 am - I am guessing because other guests running late and us being one of the last pick ups. Long drive to El Chalten but bus is comfortable and adequate stops along the way. Do yourself a favor and get the Alfajores cookie if they have it at the La Leona hotel. Anna was our trip guide and she did a good job explaining things along the way - both in Spanish as well as in English. Once you get to El Chalten, you have 2 choices - 8 km hike at your own pace or a 1 km hike and walk around town. We opted for the 8 km one. It is a Medium level difficulty for casual hikers. The first 45 mins is the toughest because you ascend a lot during that time. Boxed lunch was decent. Views were spectacular. On this day, Mt. Fitzroy was under cloud cover but we enjoyed our hike anyway. Went to the river point on the way down. There are some very good options in town if you want to grab a drink and use the restroom at local bars and restaurants after you finish your hike and most of them have a great happy hour. We enjoyed our day and would recommend this tour.

This was a complete disaster. What we had been promised and what was advertised was a 6 hour round trip to El Chalten starting at 7:00 am and returning at 10 pm. What we got was a leave for the destination at approximately 10 am and returned at 7 pm. We expected to have about 6 hours of hiking based upon their description. What we got was about 1.5 hours of hiking with no choice of trails. So you spend 6 hours driving to get 1.5 hours of hiking. The drive is mostly through desert similar to Eastern Washington, New Mexico or Eastern California. We were then told all the trails were closed and you could only have two extremely short hikes. The guide Juan was nice and informative, but this was basically a waste of one day of our 10 day visit to Argentina. If they had said 1. the trip will be much shorter 2. the trails are limited 3. You have no choice of trails 4. the hiking will be 1.5 hours rather than 6 hours 5. You can't go on any of the park trails, we would NOT have booked this trip. Why didn't they tell us this rather than lie about the trip?

wonderful tour with a great guide! highly recommend it for those who don't want to drive over!

The weather was great, our guide Pablo, master at history, personal experience and bilingual translation. The scenic views nothing short of spectacular.

The Good: El Chalten is a must destination in Patagonia. Fritz Roy peak is a thousand times more impressive in person than any photograph can represent. Wonderful little town nestled between the mountains. Would recommend spending several days than just a single day. If one day is what you have then this tour is the answer. Pick up from your hotel and a comfortable maybe a little tight van made the 2 1/2 hour trip tolerable. The guide was fantastic with clear explanations of the region, it's history and stories of El Chalten. Spoke in Spanish and English so everyone could understand. Sandwich lunch provided and a drop off at the trail head to go trekking. I would recommend this tour, however read below. Suggest you verify the logistics prior to committing.
The Bad: Logistics of the trip was not to what was advertised. Advertised was hotel pick-up at 7:30ish with 6 hours in El Chalten for trekking and sight seeing. Actual trip was 9:30ish pick-up at hotel with 4 hours of trekking. at the Lorena stop I spoke to the guide which called into the headquarters and was able to extend the trip by one hour 5 hours of trekking. This was a big disappointment since I had carefully selected the Laguna Torre trail since the time to hike this trail fits the advertised 6 hour trekking time. I did the Laguna Torre trek but only got to KM 7 before having to turn around to get back in the scheduled time. I feel as if I was cheated of my plans and what was advertised was not delivered.
Aside from the logistic shortfall, everything else was fantastic. If you decide to sign up with this tour company, call/email to confirm the logistics of the trip. If it meets what you want, go with them, the guide, transportation and the destination were all fantastic.

No tour in Patagonia falls short from being exciting and this one was not the exception either. Amazing tour, excellent guides, again, among the very best that I have ever seen. Very knowledgeable. The trekking although somewhat strenuous, is worth doing it!!!

Excellent walk to know the capital of trecking in southern Argentina. We went for the day from Calafate with the operator Prestigio. Very respectful of the schedules, with a very attentive guide that tells stories of the fauna of the place and anecdotes of mountain climbing in the Fitz Roy and in the towering peak by the rugged and covered walls of ice. We had a splendid day of sunshine and could see the snow peaks all the time. From the route, from the village and in the trecking we did. I loved climbing the condor viewpoint. Besides the mountain you can see those majestic birds flying beneath you. Tremendous!!
A very nice excursion but, the one that fell to me, I thought it was badly planned. Two hikes are made, one to the Chorrillo, of low demand and another to the Mirador de los Condores of medium demand. The ideal would have been to first make the one of El Chorrillo that can be made by all and then give option to tour the town, which is beautiful, to those who are not physically able to make the other. Unfortunately it was done backwards and I could not make the climb to the Mirador or tour the picturesque village.
If you have little time it is advisable to tour, I went in May and it was snowy, I hiked to Laguna Capri. Wear a lot of coat and gloves. If you have time it is advisable to stay, I came back in November and stayed 4 days.
Martin fue un buen guía. El panorama es muy lindo. Los miradores tienen una vista espectacular. Se necesita buen estado físico.
Must-see for anyone in good physical condition. Wonders of nature, combined with caring, trained and reliable staff.
A unique experience, all divine, we played a loving guide with fast pace but super well. It's long and it's not for people who aren't in good physical condition.
Loved this tour!! It allows you to know in the day one of the most incredible places in Patagonia, including transfers from Calafate, making it ideal for those who do not have time to stay overnight in El Chaltén. Highly recommended!
There are about 3 hours from caulk to Chalten, if we add the return is 6 hours of travel and the free time in chalten is not necessary to do one of the important hikes as lagoon of the three or lagoon tower. Ideally, stay a few days in chalten to be able to do the most important hikes.
The Chalten is one of the most imposing places in southern Argentina, it is very beautiful and everything is well diagrammed, its excursions are self-guided and very beautiful... a dream place but to go more days
While El Chalten is a place to stay at least three nights if you don’t have much time and are in Calafate this excursion is excellent, the trekking options are so varied and all divine!!!!!
The journey from the Caulk to the Chalten is long but we knew it from the beginning. It lasts about 3 hours, it made us a little warm in the group but overall it was quite comfortable. The guide Fabian was very friendly and professional, explained all the information we should know about the place in Spanish and in English. We made a stop in La Leone where there is a stop where you can buy coffee, submarine, tea and very rich portions of cake. For treking you can choose three options with different degrees of difficulty. We chose the Laguna Capri which was the most complicated destination but we do not feel much difficulty so I recommend that they do and not be afraid. It is estimated a total of 4 hours of walking between round trip and worth it. The lagoon is really very beautiful and has a beautiful landscape at the foot of Fitz Roy Hill. From the tour we were given a food with sandwiches, water and sweet things that each could eat whenever they wanted while doing the trekking. Beyond that most of the time of this tour is spent during the trip, it is super recommended!
We hire the Full Day Chalten (with lunch) excursion from Calafate with the Enterprise Patagonia Dreams. We were picked up at 9 o'clock by the hotel, with a medium distance microphone (a little better than a schoolboy). Due to the location of our hotel, we were the 1st to be picked up. The lap lasted 1:15 hours, until the mic filled up, and we took the route. The guide tells you absolutely all the topics related to Calafate, Chalten, Fitz Roy, and everything you can think of, both in Spanish and English (very good) We made a 30' sanitary stop at the Parador La Leona, and another at the entrance of the 15' Chalten. The microphone did not have good cooling and we suffered a lot of heat, so people were upset. We get off at the beginning of the trails after 13:30 (more than 5 hours of travel) They give you a choice between a trekking to Laguna Capri (a wonderful place at 1:30 am walking distance) or making Chorrillo del Salto and Mirador de los Condores (for those who do not want to walk so much). The tour lasts 12 hours in total, of which you spend 8 on the mic on the route, and you only have 4 left to walk. Upon return we ask to get off in the center of Calafate, to return walking to the hotel. According to the locals, the visit in the day to El Chalten, should make it to Laguna del Desierto, and not at the foot of the Fitz Roy. Moral: Do not do this tour, but hire a car (driven), that will take you to the best places in less time and allow you to travel more (there are several companies or remis/taxis that do) KEEP AN EYE OUT if they rent a car, they say strong winds can easily overturn them.
We were picked up from the hotel (in the caulk) at 8 am. Soon we started the trip, there were a couple of photographic stops. The guide ... a grosa! Luckily we got a clear day ... and the circuit enabled was that of capri lagoon and lookout of the fitz roy (they are 8km in total), in a quiet step the ascent took us approximately 2 hs, the descent hour and a half. enough lunch! (two sandwiches , nuts, a green apple and 500ml of water)... an experience to "meet", be alone with nature and enjoy it...
We left early from El Calafate and arrived around 11:30 in El Chalten. We chose the free track, so we did not go with the guide as another part of the class. And it was the best choice we made. We took the Fitz Roy trail, but since we had until 16:00 to return, we managed to walk and reach only to the Laguna Capri. The walk is quite exhausting, but the view was wonderful. To make larger and quieter trails, the ideal is to stay in El Chalten for at least one day, so you can go further, starting a trail at 8am, for example. The city has only 500 inhabitants in the winter and is quite deserted, but it is still possible to find some hotels there
If you like walking and scenery this excursion can not be avoided. Great views and original nature. There are several options and not just the walk to Fitz Roy Hill (Chalten). Wear comfortable and warm clothes alongside comfortable shoes. There are several places to enjoy and take unique photos
