The glacier was absolutely gorgeous and a must-see in El Calafate. The boat ride was worth it, but the minibus was only moderately comfortable and the tour wasn't truly small-group or semi-private. The park entrance fee was extra. Overall, $200 per person felt overpriced, but the glacier itself was unforgettable.

Itinerary
The best known and most impressive glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. This glacier shows a surprising and curious phenomenon, in which its great mass of ice continuously advances, causing the accumulation, rupture and detachment of gigantic blocks of ice on its 5 km wide front, located on the Canal de los Témpanos; that's where the numerous ice fragments of the glacier sail. The front of the glacier exceeds 60 meters above the water at its maximum height, from where pieces of various sizes fall continuously, producing a stridency comparable to the sound of thunder.
Upon reaching the Perito Moreno Glacier, we will cross the walkways that have balconies at different levels and angles connected by paths and stairways which can be covered in its entirety during the excursion and thus we will be able to appreciate this impressive and wonderful glacier from different points.

Nice tour 10 people total. Comfortable tour van. Nice boat ride to the glacier. Plenty of time after boat to view glacier from many elevated platforms.
It was a most memorable experience. The boat ride to the glacier is a must. Very well organized trip.
This was a very good tour, with a guide on a bus from the town of El Calafate to the glacier (about 2 hours), a boat ride of about an hour for the requisite pictures of the glacier, a 2-hour stop at walks above the glacier and a large cafeteria, and a bit over 1 hour back to El Calafate. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the lengthy stop at the walkways/cafeteria. It was raining quite heavily, so the walkways were only 10 minutes and 2 hours at the cafeteria was much too long. However, even if the weather was perfect, 2 hours was too long because the views from the walkways was largely the same. I would recommend 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours there. Otherwise, you must not miss the main event.
Fabulous day experiencing all the glacier has to offer. This is a glacier worth visiting and the trip is highly recommended.
One of the most beautiful places. The bus ride and guide were great. The boat optional portion is a must!!! The park is well organized clean and efficient!!
A very well organized excursion that delivered everything it promised. The pacing was excellent, and the guide was the best—personable, intelligent, and well prepared. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit Perito Moreno Glacier in one day’s time and to make good use of their time for their visit.
Well organized tour of the beautiful glacier, with a helpful and informative guide. The boat ride is a must, even though the walkways also had great views.
Superb trip from start to finish. Martín was an EXCELLENT guide. I learnt so much. He was smiling and good humoured all the time, patient with everyone and made sure we all came away with a deep appreciation & understanding of the geography and beauty of the glacier and the Patagonia region as a whole. Definitely add the boat trip!!!
This is a must do and make sure to select the option with navigation. It was an incredible experience and journey to the glacier Perito Moreno. Our tour guide Alexandra did a superb job with all the information she gave us during the hour it took to get from El Calafate town to the glacier park. The sceneries are breath taking and we were lucky to see a piece of the glacier falling in the water. We definately recommend this tour. It is worth it. Thank you for this great experience. Glaciers are amazing but “tour” was disappointing. Guide didn’t share much info except logistics while on the bus and her English was hard to understand at times. Boat and walking was all done without guide so no advantage to just driving oneself.
Perito Moreno is a blast. Just incredible. Our guide was good. The reason I give this 3 stars is the fact that it is extremely overpriced for what it offers. It should I have the park fees or the boat fees included. You pay over 80 euros for a transfer for which you can get for much cheaper and some information about the places we visit. Also I believe that if the tour would have first gone to the walking area and then go to the boat area, many people would reconsider going on the boat ride, as the walking place is enough. Then again if you don't do a boat tour you get to wait a lot. I believe this is an organisation thing that goes beyond the powers of the tour guides themselves. Book a car in advance instead and do it on your own!
On time pickup, kept to schedule. Got great views of the glacier and more importantly the chauffeur and guide were excellent
We appreciated the guided tour information on the way to the glacier. For the price lunch or national park entry ought to be included.
Had an absolutely thrilling day looking at the Pietro Moreno glacier up close, first from the boat and then by trekking. The guide was efficient and guided us for an unforgettable experience. No hassle with the tickets. The day was gorgeous, sunny and not too cold so we could take lots of pictures. Overall smooth operation. Will recommend
This tour is wonderful and we would take it again. Just remember to dress warm. And we appreciate being picked up and dropped off at the hotel.
The Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour was a stunning, breathtaking, and truly amazing adventure from start to finish. The optional navigation was absolutely worth it — being on the water brought us close enough to practically feel the cold radiating off the ice. There was plenty of time on the boat for endless photo opportunities, each angle more impressive than the last. Back on land, the maze of walkways above the glacier offered even more spectacular views. We had more than enough time to wander, take in the incredible scenery, and capture countless fabulous photos. If you’re patient, set up your camera on the walkways, switch to video, sit back, and relax — you might even catch the glacier calving as a massive chunk of ice crashes into the lake with an echoing bang! Our guide Sissi was kind, very informative, and made the full-day experience even more enjoyable. An unforgettable adventure and a must-do for anyone visiting the area.
It's impossible to imagine visiting El Calafate and not seeing the Glacier and paying for the hour long boat trip. The tour was worth it and Alejandra was excellent as the guide, patient, informative and relaxed. We had plenty of time, 2 hours, after the cruise to explore the Glacier from the walkways including getting something to eat at the crowded Cafe. Even if the weather is less than perfect (we had low cloud and occasional light rain) the Glacier and the surrounding scenery is magnificent. The walkways are easy to navigate and much of it is wheelchair accessible. The beautiful scenery is from start to finish with snow-capped mountains visible, small icebergs in the lake and through small forests. Park tickets can be paid for by card or cash at the entrance to the park. While we didn’t have to show any ID it's recommended to have at least a photo of your passport bio page.
Outstanding nature views. The guide was excellent- knowledgeable and courteous, the transportation was comfortable.
Beautiful day with a pleasant guide, 💕 amazing an beautiful , breathtaking views. Snow the night before so it made it more spectacular.
Tour was well organized - the vehicle was comfortable. The guide Ineas was friendly, knowledgable. The Views and boat tour - something that cannot be expressed -you have to see / experience in person especially if you have not seen a glacier before.
Very well organized with tour co. GPS and Martín as our guide and driver Claudio. Communication was very effective as to pick up and the bus was on time. On our way, Martín talked about the glacier and its history. A Very well informed and cheerful guide, Martín told us how to maximize our time in Perito Moreno, which trails, what boat, etc. Martín speaks English very well; our tour was in Spanish and English. The tour went beyond our expectations. Highly recommend this tour company and guide.
The tour includes pick up at the hotel, stops for photos of the glacier, and the option to take a boat trip to the face of the glacier with amazing views of the glacier, the ice field, the mountains, the water, and small icebergs calfed from its face. It also includes a visit to the viewing platforms further along where there are views of another face. It is not possible to describe the scenery in words. Only photographs will convey how spectacular this glacier is with the subtle blues and hues of compressed ice. Back at the hotel by 4.30 after a complete and fulfilling day. National park entrance is not included but credit cards are accepted. Very clean facilities at the final stop visitor centre. Highly recommended.
Weather was great even in August, very good to do the boat and the walkways. Bilingual and lots of good information from Inez.
Easy pickup, great guide, beautiful tour, and even had time to explore on our own. Highly recommended
We narrowly missed doing the Glacier Walk at Matanuska glacier in Alaska, so I was really looking forward to the Perito Moreno glacier walk. In fact, the glacier walk and the Penguin experiences determined my schedule in Argentina as I absolutely wanted to ensure that we would not miss out on these attractions. For all the expectations that I carried into the tour, Perito Moreno more than lived up to them and our family had a blast. We arrived in El Calafate with its breathtaking views of Lake Argentino in the evening and the Perito Moreno tour was the next day. The tour operator gives you the time slot for hotel pickup the prior evening. The bus ride to the glacier is quite comfortable but is longish, almost two hours. The guide in the bus was professional and set the expectations for the day. We arrived at the Pasarelas Perito Moreno and were given time to walk around the park and get lunch. The Brazo Rico provides fantastic views of the glacier and goes a long way around, so we actually wished we were given more time for hike. The restaurant in the park was obviously crowded but we had pretty good options despite being vegetarian. Post-lunch the bus took us to the edge of the glacier. Next you get on to the boat that takes you up close to the glacier but then you have another long trek to get to the glacier. So, it was along grind and we were obviously a little tired. But once we got our crampons and started the min-trek experience, it was simply exhilarating. My family felt it was worthy of its price. There were some folks in our group who had been there some years ago and they identified the shrinkage in the glacier. I hope the high price tag is going to preserve the pristine environment and so it should not be an issue. Moreover, there is total transparency about the time on the glacier. There is a different guide at the glacier, and he was simply superb. Extremely knowledgeable, very good at English, willing to share his experiences and awesome at clicking pictures for everyone in the group. When my wife had a fall, he quickly helped her back on her feet and made sure she was comfortable for the rest of the trek. There was a surprise treat at the end of the trek. Overall, the Perito Moreno trek was an experience to cherish
The staff were extremely attentive with our, the guide tour knows very well everything about the tour, my family and I had an amazing trip
The glacier is amazing and our tour guide knew her information and provided visual hand outs when describing flora and landscape. The boat was amazing and the crew young and friendly. There is only one restaurant where the glacier walks and a little expensive so recommend that you take advantage of the bakeries wherever you are saying and take a roll / food with you.
The experience is fabulous - Perito Moreno is breathtaking.....but we wished we would have had the chance to choose which side of the Glacier to visit....clearly the North part is much prettier - deep blue water . I felt a little deceiving to go to the south part (brown dark water) I felt a a little more information regarding how to choose the ferry would have been nice
Great experience, excellent guide and driver. Everything went as scheduled, the site worth the trip.
Magical experience and blessed with a beautiful day! Bring binoculars and warm clothes. Helpful tour guide.
Great tour to experience the glacier from different perspectives with sufficient time to do so including the different walkways and boat!
The highlight of our South American trip. The glacier is just mesmerising ....you cannot take your eyes off of it. Take the boat out to get the full awe of it
An excellent and easy way to experience the amazing Perito Moreno Glacier area (boat and boardwalks). Small group bus tour and funny, knowledgeable guide (Charlie) who also recommended an awesome crepe restaurant in El Calafate :)
A great day, really good timing and an excellent guide/driver team. There was time to enjoy each location and be in awe of the beauty of nature.
The excursion to Perito Moreno glacier was one of our best days of our trip! Our guide (Ines) was really relevant by telling us a bunch of information about the glacier and about Argentina and we found it very nice that she had pictures to show us: maps, animals, etc. The boat ride to get closer to the glacier was crowded (everyone wanted to take their best photo shot) but the boat turned around multiple times so everyone could have their chance to see well the glacier. After that, we had a few options of hikes so everyone could chose the one that best fits them. During those hikes, there were many viewpoints and this is where we got the best pictures of the glacier. Hearing the « glacier voice » was also impressive.
If you are English speaking be aware the tour guide Veronica knows very little English. She went on in Spanish for 15 minutes of explaining and English were merely few sentences hardly 2-3 mins. Even when a spot comes she would explain it in Spanish first n it would say about that spot in English way behind it was gone. Guide was horrible and didn’t give proper instructions. At one point I crossed the road to take pictures and next thing I know a police officer comes up to me yelling and shouting that why did I cross road. We were not told by Veronica that in el Calafate we are not allowed to cross the road at all. She just didn’t give us this information. Then regarding the park pass she said the pass is valid for two days but she gave us a pass which was for one entry only. Cheated us there too. Regarding van parking at boat ride she dropped us off at the top n asked us to walk down the mountain where as all the other buses n vans dropped ppl off near the boat only. She wouldn’t even consider some ppl were elderly n couldn’t walk. On way back the driver drove recklessly so we could get back quicker. I had to tell her that there was nothing for us to hold so please drive slow at turnings atleast. Not good trip at all. The glacier is amazing though. The tour company horrible. Don’t book this company with Viator. Book with other companies.
This is one of the most impressive natural phenomenons I have ever seen The boat trip us hihghly recommended.
Well organized and the guide was just great. All was on time and we had a wonderful time on both the boat tour and the hiking.
Two viewing opportunities in one tour. The first is from a series of boardwalks and viewpoints located directly across from the glaciers. The second is a one hour boat tour to observe the glacier from the water. The only downside is that there are numerous tours running simultaneously, so if you don’t like crowds, then this may not be for you.
Excellent trip beautiful places to visit is amazing, the tour guide was very professional he gives us a lot of information
Our guide, Yanina, was amazing! She is both well informed and able to switch flawlesly between Spanish and English. We lucked out by having amazing weather for our tour.
It was a great day to visit the Perito Moreno glacier. The day was well organized, and the guide was very knowledgeable about the park.
Our family visited the in December and had the perfect day. Weather was perfect as were the tour guides. The show you all different parts of the glacier as the take you on a guided tour. Very safe and many great photos opportunities. Would highly recommended going here when visiting Patagonia.
Stunning views and amazing experience. We did a 1hr boat tour to the glacier which took our breath away. Don’t miss this if planning a trip. The second part of the tour which was a self-guided and self paced was beautiful. The vistas of the glacier from both the north and south side were spectacular. The GPS tour host, (Bett) and the driver, Carlos, did a great job of pointing out history and geography of the place enroute and were extremely pleasant and informative.
Well organized and efficient way ro see the Glacier from both the walkways and the lake. The guide was good and the pace adequate. Pickup from hotel helped
Wonderful experience. Pictures cannot justify how beautiful. Easy to book and Veronica our tour guide did a great job!
This is a very beautiful glacier that should be on your bucket list. Very clean white glacier with very little dirt and rocks in it. The glacier is active with calving. Readily accessible by both boat and driving to viewing area in the park. Adequate time is given to hike the various viewing platforms to see the glacier from multiple different perspectives. The guide provides information en route to the park about the flora and fauna, geology and glaciation. Park entry fee is approximately $45 not the $25 stated on the website.
Our guide on the bus driving out was knowledgeable and enjoyable as well as efficient. We had a great experience! The boat was a fantastic add on. highly recommend.
Excellent trip from start to finish. Our guide Pablo had all the information, facts and figures presented in an entertaining and interesting manner. 10 out of 10 to our guide. The boat staff were enthusiastic and helpful, and the glacier was just breathtaking! Great system of walkways to enable you to view its majesty. I would highly recommend
