It’s about 8 hours and the weather can be capricious. Sun in El Calafate and rain and fog at the glacier, so be prepared. Once at the glacier you can do a lot of walking at the various colored trails or little if you prefer. There is a cafe and shop at the glacier. Advisable to get the national park tickets ahead of time. Our guide Max and driver Bruno were great. Excellent experience and a must.

Itinerary
After pick-up at your hotel in El Calafate, you will go on an scenic drive to Los Glaciares National Park. Enjoy the landscapes during the drive: You will border the southern shore of 'Argentine Lake' and cross the Patagonian steppe. On the way, take some pictures at the 'Curve of Sighs', and you will discover the meaning of its name...
Los Glaciares National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 when its almost 200 glaciers were discovered. Half of the park is occupied by the Patagonian ice field, the second-largest ice field after Antarctica. Upon arrival at the National Park, you will purchase your entrance tickets.
Following up, your guide will explain the different walkways of the park so that you can tour them according to your interest. The walkways will allow you to access the viewing balconies that showcase the glacier from different angles. Enjoy this incredible natural show! You will be amazed not only by the impressive glacier but also by the typical tree vegetation of the Andean Patagonian forest. You will go to the main balcony and then walk freely on the walkways until the meeting time agreed with the guide. The duration of this step may vary depending on weather conditions. For lunchtime, the National Park offers a service area with a restaurant and a snack bar (lunch not included)
If you choose the "including Boat Safari" option, you will take a 1-hour boat ride through Rico Branch of Lago Argentino, to get a different perspective of this impressive glacier. Sail along the massive glacier wall and in between floating icebergs. Watch closely to see pieces of ice detach from the glacier and slide into the surrounding lake!
After exploring the park, relax on the returning drive to El Calafate, where your full-day tour will conclude in the early evening, at approximately 5 p.m. **Schedules and the order of the visited attractions / activities may vary, according to the guide's evaluation, weather and the characteristics of the group.

Wonderful experience. Small group.Julieta as a guide was super knowledgeable! The driver was good as well!
Amazing experience and well worth the money. Our guide, Pablo picked us up on time at our hotel and made the whole day easy. He described everything in great detail and answered any questions we had. The van was extremely clean and comfortable. We had ample stops to use the restroom or stretch our legs and everything was handled with tickets for the park and boat ride. Would definitely recommend this amazing day from El Calafate!
Our tour guide Maxi was very good. The overall experience was also good.
We enjoyed visiting the Perito Moreno glacier. Our guide, Maximila (?), was very engaging and enthusiastic. She made the day great. I only gave four stars as the cruise really wasn't worth it. We enjoyed the views from the walkways much better. I think you could do this as a half day tour just by going to the walkways and have just as good of an experience.
Absolutely brilliant day the boat ride is a must, the glacier was awesome an then lunch and it snowed perfection ,pick up and drop off was easy guide was knowledgeable and friendly
Very well organized, excellent guide and driver, comfortable van for small group which is the best. Breathtaking scenery, loved the boat ride, amazing photo opportunities.
Amazing day we had clear views in the morning then snow after lunch
This experience is wonderful. It starts around 9am where I was picked up at my hotel and then we hit the road. The tour starts with a couple of stops to take pictures from the road and then you'll board the boat to the glaciers. They navigate for about an hour and get close enough to the icebergs. After that you can walk around the trails and have lunch. This place is breathtaking and worth it. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. They even have ramps for wheelchairs.
The glacier has left me with a lasting impression of the day I couldn’t stop to look at it as it was surreal to look at! So big and beautiful and the colours were amazing!
Wonderful day, great weather, excellent views, and a very well organised trip. Highly recommend!
Great experience seeing the glacier with our guide Laura. Super well organized, couldn’t have asked for more.
Great experience! I would recommend this experience to everyone and specially with this operator!!!’
Great guide who explained tour and process throughout Very friendly and open to questions Explained glacier great
This was an easy way to get up to Perito Moreno glacier and have plenty of time to explore on your own. Our rental car wasn’t available yet and honestly, going up with a small group and letting someone else drive was probably much easier. The boat trip up to the glacier was a good introduction, providing plenty of deck space to have a clear view and take pictures. Having driven up to the glacier, there was no rushing about—just a good deal of time to contemplate Perito Moreno from various angles provided by the boardwalk trails.
It was a a great way to visit Perito Moreno Glacier. Our guide, Anahi, is fluent in both English and Spanish and did a wonderful job interpreting where we were and what we saw. She was well versed in the flora and fauna and history of the region. She explained everything very clearly. Super enjoyable thanks to her good energy and guidance. Appreciated being pickup and dropped off at my hostel. Nice touch.
Pablo was an excellent guide who checked and double checked to ensure our trip was perfect. Moreno Glacier is a definite must see when visiting the area and the optional boat trip is also a must. Getting to experience the glacier up close and taking photos so close was a fantastic experience. The walkways are also very nice, and they kindly let you know how easy or difficult and the time it might take one to complete which was helpful too. Memories of a life time!
Well worth the money. Glad I booked the boat trip as well. The Glacier is amazing. Highly recommend the trip and Martin, our guide was very good.
This was a smaller-sized group, maybe about ten? The van/ shuttle bus was on time and was very comfortable. We had such a great tour guide - he was really interesting to listen to - we learned a lot. He gave very clear information about the stops we would make, timing, etc. which was very helpful. The glacier was amazing (of course), a must-see. We included the boat ride, and while it felt a little crowded at times with pushy obnoxious tourists, it was still great, the perfect amount of time on the water. One note about the walkways you will access for the best viewing of the glacier - there are A LOT of stairs to tackle if you want to get closer the the glacier. There are still a couple of nice viewing areas available for those who can't do a lot of stairs. We went in mid-March and the weather was great, It started off cloudy, even a little rainy but the sun came out in the afternoon. The walkways did not feel too crowded while we were there, but the cafe did feel crowded.
We had a perfect day as the sun was out and we saw the glacier in all its glory. No clouds at all. Our guide indicated that the previous days there were plenty of clouds around and the whole of the glacier couldn’t be seen. The tour itself was well managed and our guide Mika was friendly and informative. She kept the group too time and gave us plenty of time at the glacier to do some of the walkways. We did the boat ride in the afternoon and that went well. We would recommend this tour.
We had the absolute best time at the Perito Moreno Glacier tour. The entire park is unreal and magical. It was nice to learn about the history through our tour guide on our bus ride to the park. It was also convenient to have the transportation directly from our hotel. You have plenty time to explore on your own, so you are not tied to a group's pace. We would also recommend the boat portion, it was neat to get a closer look and a different perspective!
This is a fabulous tour! We got so close to the glacier and icebergs during the boat ride. And 3 hours at the viewing area was perfect. Juan, our guide, was great.
Its not only a transfer to the glacier and coming back straight from the hotel, its also a LOT of information about the glacier and Patagonia, highly recommended and our guide was so nice!
Well organized. Glacier was spectacular. Need warm clothing if you choose the boat trip which was well worth it!
Must see Perito Moreno when visiting Patagonia! This excursion was seamless, the guide was knowledgeable and it gave plenty of time to explore and experience the glacier!
Our disappointment was in the cost for what it is. Our guide Ana was very interesting and easy to understand. I was happy for the 3 hours to walk the ramps. At first I thought that seemed too long but it was great. The boat ride and instructions were good and the captain made sure all sides of the boat got great angles to see it. Would have liked to do the boat first and walk after
It is a good, smooth experience overall. It took 3 hrs. back and forth to the Park. The 1-hour Glacier boat ride is nice. However, it is overcharged.
Max was enthusiastic knowledgeable helpful, friendly. A true treat! Tour was organized , on time , highlight of our trip
On time pick up. Informative guide. Smooth driver. Plenty of time at the Glacier and the additional boat trip was well worth the extra
Very Well organized , Driver and guide very kind all the explanations were very clear. To be recommandes
Out of the world experience. Must do even if you have seen other glaciers! The frontal view from the boat safari was awesome
The experience offers a complete trip to the perito moreno glacier. I should definitely include the boat trip, because this really adds value to the experience. I think more experienced travelers can also organize the tour by themselves, by going to the park, following the well-signed trails and booking the boat trip. The added value of the tour is mainly the explanation of the guide during the way to the park about the glacier, the environment and a little bit of the history of the region.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The time at the glacier was ample, and we did the boat ride option which was very worthwhile to see the glacier up close. Overall a wonderful experience with a mix of activity/walking and relaxation (bus & boat).
We enjoyed the views from both the walkways and the boat cruise! Our tour guide did an excellent job explaining all the vantage points to look at the glacier.
Very properly organized! Nice experience with the boat! Feel the glacier! Feel the power of nature! :)
Definitely do this excursion! They were efficient, informative, and friendly. I learned so much along the ride about the geography and history of the glaciers and region. The guides are so good at what they do! I would 100% do this again.
It's great, well organized, the time is sufficient, no particular indication or rules. Highly reccomended.
Excellent team, perfect organisation and magnificent sceneries that shall not be in any case missed. A must do in El Calafate!
Highly recommend this excursion! Pablo was a great tour guide and made the entire journey seamless (making the trip even more enjoyable)!
It was mesmerizing seeing the glacier and the boat ride is definitely worth it! Our guide provided all kinds of information on the bus ride from El Calafate. A fantastic experience!
Guide Louis is very knowledgeable. He gave detailed explanations of the area and history throughout the trip. Thank you
We booked through Viator before arriving in El Calafate. Very good experience. It is definitely worth paying for the boat journey as part of the tour. We didn’t pay the entrance fee to the park before the day - and this did not cause much delays. Communication was good prior to the trip, in the booking confirmation there is a whatsapp number to contact the previous day to confirm pick ups etc. We were picked up on time at the hotel, the guide Natalie was very knowledgable and the journey to the park flew by as she gave us all a detailed explanation of what we would see during the day - and a geography lesson. The driver was also excellent - it snowed heavily during the afternoon on the way back to el Calafate and I felt completely safe. The boat journey is amazing, I was glad that I had several layers of clothing (July). We then made our way to the walkways for a different view od the glacier. The whiskey with ice from the glacier at the end is worth it. Great trip and one of the highlights of the trip to Argentina.
Perfectly timed tour which balanced group and solo opportunities. The boat ride is a can't miss - for those that want to experience the glacier you absolutely must do the optional boat ride. It was the undisputed highlight of the whole day.
Martin our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We had a very informative and most memorable trip. Looking at the glacier is like looking at a postcard. It’s a one of a kind experience and we are so lucky to have experience it.
Had the best time exploring the Perito Moreno Glacier and Los Glaciares National Park with this tour company! Our guide Pablo shared great information about Patagonia on the drive to the park and it was awesome to learn more about the area. I added the optional boat tour and I’m so glad I did. The weather was looking a little overcast/cloudy on our way there but by the time we were on the boat, the sun came out and it ended up being a beautiful day! We had plenty of time to grab lunch and explore after the boat tour before heading back to El Calafate.
Great scenery! We booked the trip 4 months ahead. It turned out that the price charged charged by Viator did not include the admission to the national park. Two days before the trip, I received a WhatsApp message telling me to purchase park ticket online. The message provided a link which took me to the Spanish version of the park website. Since I don’t know Spanish, it took me an hour to get the words translated and to enter the various information required by the park such as names and passport numbers. Purchasing of the park ticket should’ve been done by the tour operator.
They are a terrible company, don’t waste your time with them. My flight got cancelled because of national strike, I was trying to book a flight back home one day early on the day of the tour, I’ve contacted the tour operator one day earlier to cancel and get a refund, but they refused to do so. I ve even asked to take the tour one day later but they also refused.
Excellent tour! Los Glaciares National Park is an amazing place and well worth it. The tour guide was exceptional and everything ran on time.
Pablo our guide was excellent - thank you. The weather was great and the views of the glacier were spectacular. The boat trip was a highlight. Our only reservations were that the price of the tour (US$269 each) was expensive compared to others and we thought it included the price of the National Park Tickets. We paid an extra US $57 each for these to Say Hueque and understood this would facilitate more efficient access to the park. It transpired that Pablo needed to collect the tickets, and for other members on the tour who paid on the day, it cost US$ 42.10. Our advice therefore is to purchase the Park entrance tickets separately. Our onward journey took us to El Cheltern and our National Park entrance tickets to the glacier entitled us to a 50% discount ( if used within 72 hours of the date stamp ) to the National Park entrance to the Mountain FitzRoy self guided 6 hour hike which was amazing.
Wow wow WOW!!! Worth every penny! We added the boat part of the tour and appreciated the different perspective it gave us. The trails along the glacier are spectacular! We loved having plenty of time to explore. So glad we did this tour and Guadalupe was amazing too!!! Highly recommend!
