Itinerary
We tour the Perito Moreno Glacier from a kayak, a different perspective. The Full Day program starts at 8:00 am or 10 am (subject to availability) with pick up at hotels in Calafate. After 74 km we will arrive at Los Glaciares National Park, approximately 9 : 30/10.30 AM
The experience begins at the Perito Moreno Kayak Experience meeting point, located near the main parking lot, where our team will welcome you and inform you about the experience.
Brief stop to take pictures and continue to the walkways of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Once there and once we have recovered from the astonishment caused by the imposing landscape, we will walk along the stairs or walkways to get different views of the front of the Glacier, 5 km. long. It is necessary to remember the importance in the respect that we must have for the signaling that has this part of the Park, and to cross at all time the footbridges without leaving the same ones. The park rangers are in charge of the preservation of the beauties of the place and fulfill an important task as informants, which is complemented by the story and the permanent assistance of our guides, who accompany the travelers along the entire route.
Our guides will be with you at all times, kayaking, to explain how to move safely in these amazing glacial waters

The experience was terrible. On May 15, my wife and I did the Kayak Perito Moreno together with another couple in two separate kayaks. The starting point was in a certain distance downstream from the Glacier Perito Moreno. The guide in his kayak told us to paddle hard toward the Glacier. When we started to paddle, we found that the waves from the Glacier were very strong and with our paddling toward the glacier, the waves were getting stronger and stronger. It seemed that for every inch we paddled, the wave would push us back for two inches. About a half hour of paddling, the guide was not happy about our speed, and he then called the rescue boat over and got my wife and me onto the rescue boat with our kayak dragged behind. He asked the rescue boat to take us to a position closer to the Glacier waiting for him and the other couple to come. A few minutes later the rescue boat driver received a call saying the other couple's kayak was capsized in the strong waves and both of them in the ice water. We rushed to the site. I helped to pull the man onto the rescue boat, and the guide and the driver tried so hard to drag the lady from the ice water onto the boat. The rescue boat then took us to where we started and our kayak venture ended... It was obvious that the waves from the glacier was too strong for inexperienced people to paddle the kayak toward the glacier. Later the organiser admitted in a responding note that the conditions we encountered (on that day) may have been the result of a sudden and unexpected change in weather. The strong waves could easily capsize a small kayak with two inexperienced paddlers. If the guide were an experienced professional, he should have understood this potential risk and discussed with us for adopting an alternative plan. There was a big-size iceberg floating near the area where we started. We could happily paddle around this iceberg with a lot of fun and take many pictures with the iceberg as well as the glacier in a certain distance as backgrounds. Instead, the guide tried hard to push us to overcome the strong waves and paddle toward the Glacier. The result was disastrous: two out of four guests falling into the ice water with strong waves. We even didn't get a chance to take a single picture to show we were in the kayak! The money we paid was a total waste.
Very helpful team. Nice focus on enjoying the quiet and beauty of the glacier. Very willing to help take pictures and give you the most enjoyable natural experience you can. Help them out by having a tether for your phone/camera so they don't have to worry about dropping YOUR phone while they're helping take a picture of you.
Kayaking to the Glaciar was a unique experience, we were so glad we got to see it that way. The tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable.
It was such a fantastic way to see the glacier! We did all the hikes around the glacier so we saw it from each vantage point but it was so amazing to be in the water, up close to it. Perito Moreno glacier was incredible but the kayak experience took it to the next level.
When I booked this tour, being a former river kayaker, I wasn't sure what to expect, but if you want to take home a lasting memory – this is the tour. The tour guides are friendly and informative. Lucia, Fernando, and the driver (apologies to him for forgetting his name, he was hard at work driving- (good thing too given the roads into the park) welcomed everyone. Everyone did an excellent job – gave clear instructions and encouragement to get us ready for the paddle. The trip included a filling box lunch given to us after the paddle with time to enjoy it at the Perito Merino Glacier’s boardwalk. Thus, we saw both north and south faces of this incredible monument to nature. Everyone may not enjoy the same sunny weather and medium velocity wind. Yet, you will discover as you float on the water in your two-person kayak that the glacier has something to tell you. Sometimes in a soft whisper, sometimes in a grumpy groan as a chunk of thousand-year-old ice splinters off the wall’s edge and splashes into the lake. I recommend this tour to experienced kayakers or newbies. I even left behind a lucky, black sock so I’ll have to return one day.
Fernando and Lucia were wonderful guides! We had a great time! Nice to have time afterwards to explore the footbridges as well.
We had an amazing day with Lou kayaking around the Perito Moreno glacier. Lou is an exceptional guide, with great knowledge and a great attitude. She made sure we were safe, had fun, and learned a lot - she also gave great recommendations on where to have coffee and food for the fest of our stay in the town. The tour was well organized with pickup from our hostel, safety brief and gear check, a good amount of time kayaking and exploring, then we had time to explore on our own, walking around the footbridges. Getting to see the glacier from below as well as above made us feel like we truly explored this place.
This was so awesome! We had great guides who were friendly, knowledgeable, and safety conscious. We highly recommend this activity when in El Calafate.
Everything was perfectly organised and run. The staff is super friendly and approachable. You get high quality equipment. The kayaking is 1,5h long, then you have 3h to explore the walksides on your own.
Our guides were very knowledgeable and kind. We were able to get on the water for about ten minutes but unfortunately due to strong wind our guides had to cancel the excursion. We did get a full refund. I do appreciate that they tried to get us out on the water for a bit before they canceled.
Honestly, I am not a big fan of organized tours as they are typically very restricted. But I was blown away with this activity. I would give them 10 stars but there are only 5. The staff were very accommodating and approachable. We were almost able to touch the glacier and kayak with more guidance than restrictions. Although this trip was not cheap I feel that I got an amazing experience. Definitely a bucket list item for someone who has some kayaking skills but that might not be necessary. I enthusiastically recommend this trip!!!
Everybody was very nice: the chauffeur, the guides from the kayak,… the timing was perfect! We had enough time in the kayaks and enough time on the walkway. The group was bigger then 10 people (double) but it was ok! Really nice experience. The lunch was a cold sandwich with chicken and a lot of snaks (quiche, nuts, apple, cake,…) very nice!
This day was incredible, and the glacier exploration was one of the best things we did on our trip to Argentina. The staff was communicative before and during our trip, and made special arrangements for our hotel pickup. Then, all the details like the drive into Parque Nacional Los Glaciers, the lunch and the timing were done well. And the actual adventure kayaking to the glacier was fun and stunning. We had more than enough time to explore the glacier walkways afterward as well. Perfect day.
This excursion was truly an amazing one. The day was perfect for it . We saw the glaciers at a whole different view. Our guide on sept 16th 23 was amazing and very informative . It’s a must to do while in el calafate .
It was a waste of a day for less than 2 hours of kayaking: There was no communication in advance to let us know what we need to bring with us (nothing) We were not notified that the very high price does not include the entrance fee to the park The time that was allocated to see the glacier from the Outlook terraces was very short. The kayaking itself was shorter than promised (1:40 instead of 2:00) and we were very far from the glacier
What a unique experience, to be able to kayak so close to a magnificent glacier. The experience was just as described. We felt very safe doing this. The company provided all the equipment needed for cold-water kayaking. The guides were knowledgable and emphasized safety, and they even had a powerboat (following at a distance so as not to interrupt the kayak experience) in case of emergencies. Their description is accurate that no previous kayaking experience is necessary. We felt it was worth what we paid for the experience.
Good pick up and drop off at hotel. Guide was fluent in English and Spanish. There were several walks at the National Park to view the glacier. The sound of the ice cracking and falling into the water showed what is happening to our climate.
We were a group of 8 people. Nobody else was in the kayak. Our sguides were super friendly and open to any question - in Spanish and in German! On the lake we were offered alfajores and coffee. Back on shore we still had time to walk on our own and received a packed lunch. A very successful trip and definitely worth the money!!
An unforgettable experience and even more if you like kayaking We hired the separate transfer that left us at the entrance to the walkways and then met us at the Kayak agency office They give you excellent quality protective suits with which you are guaranteed not to get wet. The activity lasts about an hour or a little longer, you get quite close to the glacier as far as it is safe as very large blocks of ice can fall We have a day without wind and sun, unbeatable! Cost in August 2023 was approximately $300
Excellent activity, totally innovative and recommended. Beautiful experience to get to know the Perito Moreno Glacier.
We did it in the Hall. He saw only 16 people so it was really nice. Lovely everything despite the stubborn rain. Blue icebergs and navigating the front of glaciers. The visit to the catwalks was a little quick but it is great!!!
Beautiful landscapes!!! From the city center of El Calafate to the Glacier Park you can enjoy the different and beautiful landscapes. At first, a rocky vegetation looking desert, and when you get near the park, a lush forest, and the two landscapes framed by the mountains and their wells covered in snow. In the park the glacier is the main piece! And when the ice dissolves then, wonder!!! A spectacle of nature!
