Treat this like a ski trip. Full snow gear if you don’t want to get cold and wet. Big tip. Weather always improves at high noon (not 12, it’s when sun is at its highest.)

The drive from El Calafate is about 2.5 hours. On the way you stop at several spots for photographs of Lake Argentina and landscapes. After you enter the national park we drove to some catamarans, boarding one to go to within 200 meters of the south face of the Perito Moreno glacier. Afterwards we went to a restaurant located near walking paths that provide views of the north and south face of the glaciers. The paths are very well constructed but there are hundreds of steps down and them back up. The views were amazing. We saw and heard “calving” of the glacier (where pieces break off and fall into the lake). The drive back was just over an hour.
full day it goes fast. Tour guide very knowledgeable in both Spanish and English. stupendous view of the glacier. be sure to take the hour navigation tour going up near the glacier for wonderful photo opertunities
Excellent communication. Very accommodating pickup from my AirBnB and drop off somewhere convenient for me to continue my day. The bus was very comfortable. The guide narrated our outward bound trip with a great deal of local knowledge. Inward bound we were allowed to enjoy the drive with soft music and to have a bit of a siesta. I highly recommend this tour!
Great scenery and guide. The transport was a bit squishy - ever seat filled with big adults. Unfortunately the communication beforehand was inconsistent and left us stressing that we didn’t have a tour to go on… but it did all work out.
Starting with a prompt pickup, our bilingual guide did a great job of describing what we were looking at on the way to the glacier. The Glacier itself is truly globally unique in its size, it’s accessibility by boat and the viewpoints on the facing cliffs. I highly recommend taking the boat option for an entirely different perspective on this wonder.
The glacier is stunning. Thought the boat was good but the panoramic views were better. About 1.5 hours from Calafate but pretty straight road with great views. Guide spoke English and full of info.
The tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was better than expected. A tour that is for everyone not to miss.
This experience is not to be missed as the glacier is breathtaking and we highly recommend to book it with navigation to get close to the beautiful glacier. Our tour guide, Ines made this experience even more special because of her incredible knowledge and upbeat personality. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is in El Calafate; we even made a stop there on our way to Ushuaia just to have this experience and it was worth it.
The trip was beautiful but I did not like the part where the entrance to the park is not included. I ask them what should I bring and they did not reminded me that the entrance was pendient
Excellent! No words! Just spectacular! No question that you should do this tour! We got a lot of history from our guide and stopped at different spots to truly appreciate the beauty of it all!
beauty of the glacier was stupendous and breathtaking.the beauty of the ice formations can only be decribed as divine
Excellent trip. Well worth it. Must see and appreciate Patagonia landscapes and nature at its best. Excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge
We were very lucky with the weather, not a cloud in the sky, just blue and sunny all day. Julieta was a great guide explaining everything in Spanish and in English for the travellers on the comfortable bus. The first sight of the majestic glacier as we went round a curve was exciting. The boat ride up close to the glacier was marvellous, so were the pasarelas. The national park is well kept and preserved as it should be, a lot to learn from Argentina and Chile Patagonia parks. It was the hightlight of our visit to Argentina. Thanks to Cristian, the driver also.
The glacier! The drive to and from is picturesque and you see wildlife along the way. It’s definitely worth it to hike the trails and spring for the boat ride. You won’t be disappointed!
I have just returned from a fabulous visit to Patagonia and Viviana really made this trip special. She was our guide on a day trip to El Merino Glacier and every detail of the day trip was perfect . Pick up from our hotel on time , really excellent local knowledge on the glacier from Viviana combined with her lovely personality made this a great day. Viviana also provided lots of local knowledge and ideas for us to make this most of our time in Patagonia. I am very happy to highly recommend her as a local guide !
Spectacular scenery and a well-organised trip with great guide. We were not rushed, and so there was enough time to really enjoy the awesome splendour of the glacier and icebergs.
I'm more than happy to say that it was AMAZING!!! The guide was awesome! Perito moreno is a wonderful place to visit. I will always recommend it.
The tour was mind-blowing. Alejandra, the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the geological structure and substance of the Perito Moreno Glacier and her personality was very accommodating for the members in the group.
C’est une merveille de la nature qui nous laisse sans mots. De plus les lieux sont sécuritaires et très bien aménagés.
The cold is huge for those of us from the tropics, but it is 100% worth it. They take approximately 15-20 minutes to collect. Spectacular scenery, time is enough.
Impresionantes paisajes solo que mucho frio Llevar zapatos de nieve y buenos abrigos Tomar un chocolate caliente en el restaurante
Truly a place you have to visit no matter what. You don't have the dimension of a glacier until you are in front of it with all its beauty and magnificence. A wonderful experience that I recommend 1000 percent. And the beauty of hearing and perhaps even seeing some landslide is added, which adds an inevitable additional touch. Schedule a visit to El Calafate as a must!
La navigazione, il crollo di un pezzo della parete di ghiaccio, la vista nord del ghiacciaio dalla passerella.
The tour includes two - three quick stops photo, the guide did the explanation in Spanish then in English (well placed in front of me was able to follow) With navigation or without, the place is magical despite the ton of tourists. This tour does not include the entrance to the park (by the way no tour operator I have seen includes...) there is little information for who wants to do it without tour operator Personally I would have stayed to enjoy the view even longer but this tour leaves time to make the walkways without problem.
Exzellent! Vielen Dank.
