The Gauchos provide an amazing experience, as not only did they make us feel safe but they provided great recommendations. The only down side was that the girl photographer didn’t take great photos as they were blurry or had the sun glare, but we took our own photos so it turned out fine.
I did the shorter experience with my sister and we had a blast! The team is super friendly and knowledgeable. We started out with some rain which was no problem - the sun came out for us and we saw beautiful views! They also have a restaurant and small museum space that celebrates Calafate culture. We loved it! Would recommend to all. We had little to no riding experience and were comfortable (24 and 26 YO).
This was more of a 'horseback ride experience' than actual horseback riding. I just walked at a slow pace for the entire hour and a half. It was quite boring for experienced riders. I left a note in my reservation stating that I'm an experienced rider looking to canter, but this was not taken into account at all. They should clearly state that this place is strictly for walking only.
A fantastic experience. I highly recommend the 3 hour ride, as this option gives you time to ride across the hills & down to the beach. Guille is a knowledgeable and kind guide. The ride exceeded my expectations.
Scenary was nice but that’s all that can be said positively about this activity. Staff was absolutely not showing any enthusiasm nor did they provide any information or guidance. The tour stopped simply once we returned to the starting point; they did not even inform us about how we could get the pictures they had taken from us. Cannot recommend this provider at all. Also pricey for a one hour activity. Ps: no helmets were offered.
What do you expect from a horse ride? Take a stroll and get to know the place! The problem is that the horses are tired, the guides are rude and don't say anything about the places we were passing through... we were extremely frustrated within this tour... cost x benefit = zero!
My husband and I have been on many horse riding excursions all over the world, but this was the first that had absolutely no safety equipment or explanation so I would not recommend it for first time riders. For experienced (or semi experienced riders) it is totally fine. There were a number of guides that went with the group of say 10 guests and maybe 4 guides so overall I think they were watching okay, but it was just different to what I was used to on horse excursions. The ride and the view was fantastic and the horses for the guests were well behaved and walked slowly along the prescribed path. Overall very much worth the money, but would have liked to have a little commentary on the area or the horses or something along the way.
Beautiful calming ride in a serene environment. The horse is well behaved and the guides wonderful. Highly Recommend!! Thank you!
It was a game time decision, but ultimately a good one! My wife and I were on the last leg of our honeymoon in El Calafate, debating between this and other options, and we ended up finding out that this provided exclusive views of Lake Argentina likely not seen by many. Starting off at a modest property, we worked our way atop a hill, from which we broke off into two groups: one for the shorter 1-hour tour and the other for the 3-hour option. We opted for the 3-hour option, and since there was no one else in our group, we practically had a private horseback riding tour. Needless to say, it was well worth the money. On top of all this, we had an excellent guide in Jorge, who brought us back to a surprise makeshift museum located at the property. Lastly, the giant mountain dog, plus all the other dogs you ride with, just make the trip that much more genuine and enjoyable. If you like horses and are looking for a private ride along, we absolutely recommend it.
Very enjoyable. Highly recommended for a beautiful afternoon. The horses are very easy-going. A highlight to be able to get a bit deeper into the landscape. The staff is also very pleasant.
It's a great place to spend time. lovely staff and amazing Panorama Nice food and lovely wine I'll recommande to everyone
As a horseback guide in the US I can say these guys have absolutely nailed it. The guides on our ride were extremely friendly and welcoming. If you get along well with them they even might let you gallop hah. Gustavo the owner even invited me and my friend to his corral to practice with their lassos. Can't recommend his service enough!
The horses do the leading, your just a passager. The scenery is picture worthy on the 5pm route when I went. If you dress like a Gaucho, it would add a little more flare to the picture:)
You and your dogs can take a leisurely walk around the course, which overlooks the land formed by the glacier. He also sent me the photos he took immediately.
Guillermo is a great Guide and a great person. He took us to tour a part of the caulk steppe with a spectacular view and while he taught us a lot of things about the region. The horses are beautiful and very quiet, you do not need to have previous experience riding, it is a nice activity for the whole family.
We hired the short ride with Patagonia Chic. He stopped by to find a remis for our cabin and took us to the Argentine lake. There were other people waiting there, we were greeted by the guides and I started the ride that was beautiful. It lasted about an hour and a half. While the Service we were sold offered a snack, we never saw it. As soon as we arrived there was the same remis that had taken us, ready to return to the hotel. If you like horseback riding it is an excellent excursion through the Patagonian steppe.
We were initially unsettled because the organizer did not contact us again (via WhatsApp or similar) beforehand, as in other trips we have undertaken. But we were picked up at the hotel on time at the agreed time and had a great afternoon! After a brief briefing on how to "steer" the horses, we started. We took a leisurely, slow ride through the very windy landscape. The pace was absolutely sufficient for us beginners. At the front, one of the leaders rode, giving the direction, at the back another, making sure that none was lost and helped with problems. The rear guide also offered to take photos of us with his own mobile phone during the ride (at no additional cost). That was really great!
