We had an amazing stay at Xelena Hotel & Suites in El Calafate. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and very well designed, with great attention to detail. The bed was extremely comfortable and the view of Lago Argentino was breathtaking. The small details in the room made the stay feel special and very well thought out. The service was excellent. The staff were always friendly, professional, and ready to help with anything we needed. They made us feel very welcome during our entire stay. Another great advantage is the hotel shuttle bus to the city center, which runs every hour. It made it very easy for us to go into town for dinner, shopping, or simply exploring El Calafate without worrying about transportation. The spa, pool, and common areas are also beautiful and very relaxing, especially after a long day visiting the glaciers. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting El Calafate who is looking for comfort, great service, and incredible views.

This is an excellent base for trips around El Calafate. It is at the end of the town nearest to the Glaciares National Park, which is very convenient as mentioned in other reviews. The shuttle to town is very well-organised and helpful: the driver makes a second trip if the first one is full. We didn't eat in the restaurant so we can't comment on that, but the breakfasts were very good and started early (06:00) so you could eat before trips. The lunch boxes were also very good, well-designed for a day-trip. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and helpful. However, a special mention to Agustina and Chimey (? sorry if this is wrong) who made us so welcome.
Only stayed for one night so we could do the mini trekking on the glacier the next day - hotel was super. Great location if you’re doing the same tour (we did it with Hielo y Aventura), we were last to be picked up before the glacier, and first to be dropped off after, so the shortest amount of time on the bus - a real bonus! The hotel offers a lunch box, nice and easy way of sorting your lunch for the trek - maybe a little expensive at $15-20, but worth it for the no-hassle, and a great lunch! Staff are great, rooms are lovely and clean, big windows overlooking the Lago. If you want to be in town a lot you might prefer a more central hotel, but the taxis were only about $4 each way, and the hotel does provide a shuttle bus if you prefer. All in all, great experience.
Wonderful view of the lake from the room and pool area. Hot tub and dry sauna. Staff was excellent, professional and helpful. Do not book through Expedia / hotels.com . We had issues with a rolling airline cancellation and the big directory sites take your money despite advertising free cancelation. Book directly with the property, on what's app. The property is away from town , provides a shuttle. There was a festival in town with live music ever night until midnight. We moved here after several nights in town.
We stayed in the junior, luxury, and presidential suite here. All the rooms we stayed in have been very clean, which we really appreciate. The beds were really comfortable as well. The luxury and presidential suite were really spacious and had great views of the lake. The pool was nice and has a great view as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The shuttle runs every hour from 3 pm to 10 pm and drops off in the town center. As for the food, the breakfast and bar items are pretty basic. It's edible, but nothing special.
