A relaxed, informative tour that I personally, thought was the perfect duration. Nicolas was extremely kind and happy to answer all questions and not rush through anything considering its a fairly quick tour. You get to have a short walk around the vineyard and taste some grapes and learn about the different leaves and fruit. You are taken to the barrel room and also the cellar where the big machines are and learn about how the wine is made. After this, you are sat down in the gorgeous courtyard to pair three different wines with canapés which were both delicious. I would highly recommend this tour if you want something that doesn't take up the whole day and taste some delicious wine.
Stunning winery and delicious wines. The real standout was our guide, Marcelo! He was so fun and informative. We had a great time with him and learned a lot more than we had learned on tours at other wineries. Highly recommend!
A very nice winery. The wines were delicious. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, with taking us through the vineyards and then trying the various wines.
‘MARCELLO!!! omg. We’ve never had such an informative, engaging and hilarious tasting. The vibes he had were insane. My one tip, bring cash. They can’t accept tips via POS. We sadly couldn’t tip Marcello because we had no cash. We have done probably 30+ vineyard tastings/tours and this is by far our favourite (I guess if you book English)
We did the Icons tour, tasting 5 of their best wines with paired nibbles. Marcello was a fabulous guide with a great sense of humour and he shared so much knowledge in an engaging style. Absolutely recommended
This was one of our favorite tastings during our time in Chile. Marcello, our tour guide made the experience so memorable and fun. He took so much time and attention with us during a tour of the grounds and during our private tasting. The small bites paired with the wines added to the fun of diving deep into the different varieties we tried.
Absolutely amazing. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and you can tell he enjoys his job. He was catering to my partner who was lactose intolerant. We learnt a lot about how to taste wine, walked through where they make it, and walked through the fields. Left very happy. Beautiful place. Highly recommend. Would be nice if they had a restaurant!
My friend and I had a fantastic visit to MontGras with Fernanda as the most wonderful tour guide for the Tour de Vinos & Sabores. We had a reservation for the 10:30am tour and ended up having a private tour for just the two of us. The tour included a visit to the vineyard, production facility, and cellar, and finished with a tasting of three wines with a cheese/cured meat pairing. As relatively novice wine lovers, she did an incredible job making the tasting approachable and giving us a plethora of tips for tasting and enjoying wine. It was truly one of the best winery tours I have been on and we ended up buying multiple bottles each! Would highly recommend a visit and ask for Fernanda if you can. Thank you to Fernanda and Marcello for the hospitality and for such an educational, fun, and warm tasting experience.
Great tour, very knowledgeable tour guide that was also very entertaining! Really enjoyed learning more about the wine plants themselves, and was a great wine tasting. 10/10 recommend!
A great tour with a knowledgeable and friendly host, followed by an excellent and well-presented tasting. Thoroughly recommended
It was a great experience to learn so much about the different grapes and to taste the difference. Super nice guide who spoke English very well. I was the only foreigner on the tour, but he took the time to explain everything both in Spanish and English. The wine tasting was also nice and the surroundings are beautiful as well. Can only recommend this place.
My wife and I arrived at MontGras without having pre-booked the tour. We joined the next scheduled tour 20 minutes later which ended up being just the two of us. We've done many winery tours before and this was one of the most fun and informative ones we've been on. We learned how to identify grape varietals by their leaves, did a blind tasting from a tank, and tried to identify a wine from smelling it in the barrel. The tour wraps up by tasting 3 wines paired with small bites. We can't remember our guide's name but he was wonderful. Thanks for a great experience!
We had a memorable tour at Mont Gras Wineries that started with ‘opening day’ for their new wine shop. Our guide was fluent in English, had a great sense of humour, and was passionate about sharing the wine making experience with us (a group of 4). We started in the vines. We learned to identify the varietal by the leaves on the vine, we tasted the grapes on the vines, we saw the grapes being harvested by hand, we drank directly from the metal tanks! It all culminated with a tasting of some very nice wines at the end of the tour, accompanied by some appetizers that helped to demonstrate that effective pairing can enhance the flavours of the wine. We purchased a bottle of the 2017 Ninquen and enjoyed it overlooking the vines following the tour! We highly recommend that you put this one on your list!
I would put this on you list of wineries in the area, the tour wasn’t extensive but I did learn about identifying different varieties by leaf and grape. Marcellos is very knowledgeable about the area. The wines were very good, I’m a red guy but o did buy a bottle of the Chardonnay, the tour did cost 15,000 CLP but I found that was about in the middle of the price ranges.
I have been on many winery tours all over the World. I have to say, hands down, this was the most informative tour! Gonzalo was a fantastic host/guide! We were there on a very slow Sunday afternoon. The three of us received basically a private tour as no others were there for our slotted time. Gonzalo started off telling us the basics you learn in most tours. He then went a step further by showing us, not only the various grape vines, but took time to show us the actual differences in the vine leaves. This is how they tell the grape variety from one vine to the next in the field. During our tour inside he allowed us to sample from the tap of the steel tanks to show us how the wine tastes in that state! We had a fantastic tasting outside under the courtyard verandah. Tasting 4 wines and even allowed to taste an extra as I was curious about their Rosé wine. Each was paired with a little nibble to help show how the food compliments the wine. There was no rush to the tasting and we got to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and drink our wine! All in all we managed to leave with 7 bottles of wine! Everything we tasted was top quality at this winery! Highly recommend a stop here! Ask for Gonzalo if you are doing the English language tour!
At 8 Million bottles per year, this is a massive operation, though they are quick to tell us that there are others more than twice as large. The vats are huge, the the barrel room is massive (30,000 barrels in one room!). Everything is done large scale and fast. And everything looks efficient, clean, and well run. The tour was also presented by a very personable English speaking guide, who made the entire experience enjoyable. Then, they give a 30% discount on all wines bought that day after you have completed the tour. The wines are quite good, and rather inexpensive. We ended up buying 6 bottles. (would have gotten more, but that is the import allowance when we fly home)
A really great tour with excellent explanations of grape varieties, growing regions, storage, as well as different ways to sharpen the sense of taste during the tasting. Highly recommended - many thanks again to our guide, he was very attentive.
Beautiful experience and tour; the guide demonstrated impeccable and vast knowledge about the history of wine and the vineyard. We took a walk, saw picturesque places there, and finished with a tasting of three wonderful wines. In addition, the advice for purchasing wine is very specific and pleasant, and they recommend wines for every occasion.
I really liked everything... the first-class service, the guide was a young guy, 18 years old, with a lot of charisma... friendly, cheerful, and very helpful... we spent the whole day at the vineyard while my husband, a friend, and I enjoyed wine... my daughter decorated chocolate cookies, which was great... then we had a spectacular picnic with luxury prepared baskets and a beautiful tour... I highly recommend it.
An entertaining experience in a nice place. The tour of the vineyard and wineries lasted about 45 minutes. The best was the tasting done by a wine connoisseur but above all an entertaining character
Excellent experience, our guide was Marcelo, a crack! Very friendly and fun, he explained in detail the wine production process from its origin, strains, locations, etc. A very educational and beautiful experience, we tasted delicious wines and bought some for our hogqr. Super recommended, beautiful place.
I want to congratulate and recognize Fernanda’s excellent work in the tour we did learning from the vineyard, its wines and the thousands of stories she told us with enthusiasm, passion and patience, where we asked her thousands of questions and enjoyed like never before this wine tour Icons! We have done many tours in different vineyards of the world, but none as exciting as this. Thanks Fernanda, you are the difference that Chilean wine needs to continue growing and that we are so proud of!!!
We went on the tour and then picnic, it was 100% worth it, the picnic basket was exquisite and super complete, The tour led by Nicolas was excellent, it was close and didactic to explain everything. I would recommend it a thousand times.
Very friendly and competent guide. A wonderful tour of the winery with great tasting of four outstandingly aged wines. Highly recommended.
The tour is short, the poor tasting is not so enjoyable and the snacks to accompany the tasting are very poor, in general they lack much as a tour
Don Marcelo and copito made the tour of MontGras great! Apart from the picnic I thought would be small and zero! Very forceful and loving in every little rich thing that was inside the dinner. Las 3 .
Incredible experience, Marcelo gave us a masterclass in the entire production process, from its beginnings to its end. The wine tasting is very interesting and worth taking that experience, for those who want to learn to value wines, the place is very nice and welcoming, the team very willing to generate a good experience.
Nice experience!! Pleasant reception from the staff, interesting tour, beautiful surroundings and exquisite wine tasting.
The views are beautiful, much freedom to tour the sector, a pleasant atmosphere and with less demands than other vineyards.
Very interesting experience. The super well-prepared winemaker, nice to meet you. The beautiful place. And the wine....very good and recommended.
The visit was wonderful we went through everything with the karla guide who had a lot of knowledge of the vineyard and the wine process and Marcelo a passionate in his subject for the tasting of the different strains, everything very clean ordered and coordinated we were very happy my children to see this whole process
A wonderful place, wonderful views of the vineyards and Javiera was a very competent, open and personable sommelière. We learned a lot about wines.
The very prepared host with experience and kindness took care of every detail of our tasting experience 100% recommended
All perfect. I have gone on many vineyard tours and wine tasting, but without a doubt this is a wonderful experience, all thanks to the pleasant and instructive hostess and guide Fernanda. You can see his passion and knowledge.
Very good tour and wine tasting, Marcelo the guide gave a lot of information and was well entertained. Very nice place with good architecture. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place, unforgettable experience. I totally recommend it. We decided to spend a weekend as a couple and it exceeded our expectations
Very nice, competent tour of the winery, soil, vines, weather, everything. The selected wines were great, and there were also small snacks to go with them.
Marcelo was an excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable about wine. Recommended 100%. A must when you come to Chile.
We were allowed to enjoy a 1.5-hour wine tour including tasting, which was highly interesting. Many thanks to Marcelo, he is there with passion!
The guides are great!! We had an amazing time!!! Fully recommended if you want to have a nice time
Very good tour, personalized and with good information delivered. The tour guide was Gonzalo, very friendly and willing to answer all our questions. We were able to taste a wine directly from a pond and taste wines with a few small bites as a pairing at the end of the tour.
very well the guide who kept us very motivated during the tour, almost a teacher. Very professional wine tasting
Our visit to MontGras was private and delicious, our very friendly and kind guide told us the whole history of the vineyard and the vineyards, I really liked the Antu wine and the top lines. Interesting that for those who do the tour and the tasting, then have 30% discount in the store.
