The Riverside Hotel

No control over the guest in the hotel. Guests were playing load music with their doors open. Contacted reception and they just couldn't control them. Infestation of Cockroaches in the rooms and in the kitchen. Borrowed hairdryer from reception and it was removed without notification. Went late for breakfast and they wanted me to pay for cup of coffee whereas I paid for a full breakfast. Hotel with rules but no service to guests. Extremely disappointed. This hotel will definitely not see me again. They locked me out of my room on the second day and indicated that it was my fault by putting my key card next to my phone which was not even close because I had 2 keys and both did not work. Other guests were also locked out. Some staff relly tried to make the place pleasant though. But I won't go back as I dont feel I was treated as a guest

My 3 nights stay was quite worth it for a first timer. The rooms were great with cool air and ambience. They have microwave and bar fridge as a standard unlike at the other hotel starting with Garden. TV channels are also not bad at all as opposed to what I've experienced at the other establishments. Food is reasonable in prices and I love their buffet options. Most importantly, the manager is hands-on and a manager who walks around. This causes one's concerns to be attended to promptly. Obviously their staff is friendly, except the few faces that I believe are naturally unfriendly and not a matter of behaviour. And I should add that the beautiful ladies also brightened up my stay. The only thing that has the potential to present them as negligent in court, are their ironig boards which are wobbly and could fall on one's feet. But the court would probably hold the user as having contributed to the negligence too by using it in that state.

The conversations and the care was absolutely beautiful Manny Govender - excellent customer care - service to specifically myself was spot on. Will definitely come here again. I really enjoyed my stay. The room and hotel itself was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were top notch and the hospitality was excellent, hosting our Western Province masters hockey and celebrating WP Chargers winning Durban Inter Provincials 2026!
