Luka was a fantastic guide! We had a very interesting day, tasted many great wines, learned a lot, and ate wonderful food. We appreciated Luka's knowledge and friendliness, along with his vast knowledge of history and current issues impacting Croatia. We particularly appreciated the flexibility to add an additional windery that was of great interest to us.

Itinerary
Start your day with a pickup from your centrally located Dubrovnik hotel, and then travel with your private guide to the small town of Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula. As you travel, chat with your guide about the scenic south Dalmatia region and the sights that you particularly want to see. Your itinerary is flexible so if there’s something you want to see more of, simply let your guide know.
After roughly an hour on the road, arrive in Ston and stretch your legs on a walking tour of the pretty coastal town. Pose for pictures by the so-called Great Wall of Croatia – Ston’s major claim to fame – and hear how it is said to be one of the world’s largest fortified city walls. The Peljesac area is rich in natural resources, with salt and wine lauded as the peninsula’s biggest exports, so visit the town’s old salt factory and hear tales about the pure salt harvest. Enjoy a break for lunch in town (own expense) and then return to your minivan to continue your tour.
Travel along the undulating coastline of Peljesac Peninsula and, in between gazing at the turquoise Adriatic Sea, stop at three family-run wineries to sample their wares. Plavic mali is the region’s principle grape and, while your wine samples vary on each occasion, chances are that you will taste several made from the ubiquitous grape. Snacks such as artisan cheese and bread are often served alongside the wine. If you want to learn more about southern Dalmatia’s cuisine, then perhaps swap one of your winery visits with a seafood-tasting session at a coastal fish farm. Sample fresh local oysters or mussels while learning about the region’s renowned fishing heritage. After exploring the region and sampling its fine produce, return to your minivan and travel back to Dubrovnik. Your tour finishes with a drop-off at your Dubrovnik hotel.

The scenic drive was wonderful and the small family run winery we stopped in was lovely! Marlais was wonderful. The daughter in law of the owners gave us a tour of her garden and provided our tasting. She was sweet and their wines were phenomenal! Our Driver Ivan was very knowledgeable about wine and provide a lot of historical perspective on wine and all things Croatia. We stopped in Mali Ston for a little Oysters and a meal. It was just a great day!
It was a beautiful trip visiting three interesting wineries. Each place provided delicious snacks, including the best tasting oysters! Ivan was a wonderful guide, accommodating our agenda.
Ivan was so wonderful! He was very knowledgeable in wine and Croatian history. He was one of the reasons it was so wonderful. We stopped at 3 wineries each for 45 min and then stopped in Mail Ston for a beautiful seafood lunch at Bota Šare. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience!
Drive along the coast to the peninsula. 3 different wineries from small to large to unique. Fantastic seafood in Mali Ston. Excellent guide with great knowledge and amusing stories.
3 great wineries! Great stories! Wonderful selections of quality wines highly rated. Nice charcuterie boards. Ivan was informative and well versed in history. Altogether a fascinating day!
Ivan was a very knowledgeable and affable host who took us to the best wineries and eateries on the peninsula. We had such a great time and would recommend this tour to anyone who likes good wine and food. Five stars all around.
The tour was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He chose wonderful wineries and an amazing place for lunch!
Visited Ston town, 3 vineries and a great place for lunch. Our guide gave us all the relevant information and updated us on the context. Happy to have done this private tour.
We had the pleasure of meeting Drazen when we arrived at the airport. We enjoyed our drive into Dubrovnik and were able to request him later in the week for the tour to Ston and the wine tasting. We had a rainy start but he made the experience fun nonetheless. He even suprised me with a birthday dessert at the restaurant at which we had lunch. We had a different driver (also awesome) for our transfer back to the airport. In the early hour of our departure, my husband forgot to return the hotel key. He walked outside of the airport to phone the hotel and who did he run into? Drazen himself, he had just dropped someone else to the airport. He told him what happened and Drazen gladly said he would help. He took the key and said he would return it to the hotel later in the day. He wouldn't take a top for his trouble either. A very friendly guy who went above and beyond at every turn. We can't say enough good things about Drazen. The tour was also fantastic and the wineries were lovely. We wished we could have seen more of Ston but with the rain it just wasn't possible.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see some authentic Croatia and it is a definite for wine-lovers. Drazen our driver collected us promptly from our hotel at 9am and we sped off in the air conditioned minivan into the Croatian countryside towards our first stop. Drazen is fantastic; very knowledgeable and friendly, well presented and speaks excellent English. The first stop was the ancient city of Ston where we spent approximately 45mins. During this time we visited the Salt Works (separate review) and milled around the shops and bars. We didn't have time to clime the famous Ston Walls but they were clear to see from the little town. We subsequently visited three vineyards in total (the quality of which got better as the day went on) to taste a mixture of whites, reds and rose all from the peninsula. For lunch we returned to Mali Ston (Little Ston) for lunch by the river in a little fish restaurant. The day ended at around 530pm when we were dropped back at the hotel. This was a great day out and I would highly recommend the tour provider.
We were one of three couples, the other two staying in Dubrovnik. Our guide/driver Drag?? From Bosnia, sorry can't remember his name, was great, a good driver, informative and laid back. He picked us up in Cavtat on time at no extra charge after we had booked the tour in Dubrovnik. We visited Ston with its wall equivalent to the Great Wall of China. A lovely place to go for an hour or two. Then on to three wineries, all very different and interesting. We liked the first one best. He then gave us some options and we all plumped for a delicious meal at an oyster and mussel farm area, not cheap but great food. The day started at 8am and he dropped us off after 7pm. An amazing and informative day made better by our guide. Would highly recommend this trip.
Tour guide was professional and was able to speak fluent English, his plans for those 3 wineries, oyster and salt farms with a walk to the little city walls were good. His pick of restaurant for lunch was also a highlight! The tour will be perfect if we could visit one of the vineyards there!
Our private Croatian tour guide Robert provided us with very attentive service in a very comfortable SUV. We picked the hotel pickup time in Lapad and customized our drop-off in Orebic. First, we visited the walled town of Ston for a 1.5 hour visit. Next were wine tastings at the excellent Milos winery and then unique Edivo Vina. Lunch was outstanding at seaside Vitaceae restaurant in Trstenik. One final wine tasting was at Matusko where tour buses caught up to us.
My wife and I had an absolutely delightful time with Drezen on our day to Ston and the Peljesac Peninsula! He was so pleasant and shared so much about the culture of Croatia during our journey. We first got picked up in Dubrovnik, and then were driven to Ston where we had an hour to explore the city and we ended up buying a ticket to walk on the walls there (definitely recommend). Then we drove a bit further to the 3 wineries that Drezen had selected. All awesome and unique in their own way. We purchased a lot of wine to bring home, and even had some shipped back to our house in the States. After the 3 wineries, he took us to Mali Ston where we enjoyed a really nice lunch on the water with some super fresh fish, oysters, and other shellfish. My wife and I both agree it was our favorite day during our trip. Would recommend to anyone.
A wonderful way to spend a day. 8am pick up at our hotel. Started in Ston, with time to walk the town, and spend some time on the wall. Had a nice cup of tea - and amazing pastries with our tea from the bakery in the small square. Particularly loved Matuško Winery. Our driver Drazen was fantastic. Very knowledgable and interesting sharing history and stories all the way. And very accommodating, we were so early - he added a 4th winery to visit. Only piece of advice: we were told to have an 8am pickup. Highly recommend 9 or 10am instead. That way you start the tour with walking Ston and the wall, and lunch, then wine tasting. We ended up with 3pm lunch and were starved.
We had the most brilliant day on our peninsula trip. Our driver, Robert, arrived to fetch us in a gleaming air-conditioned Mercedes. We drove to Ston and had time to explore the salt works and climb a section of the wall. We visited three wine farms with Matusko Winery being our favourite. Our guide, Marianne, was informative and very friendly and we tasted a number of their wines, the white wines being our favourite. Our day just got better when we stopped for lunch for seafood at Taverna Bota and were greeted by friendly waiters and delicious food.

Chris was our driver. He was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. The selection of wineries was superb.

Drazen was our private guide. After a few misunderstandings where we were meeting him, the office finally got us in touch with Drazen and we had a glorious day. A comfortable ride in a Mercedes through the beautiful countryside to wine country. Visited 3 vineyards, one being Grgich Hills. While the wine there was no where near as delicious as the one from Napa, the scenery and views in Napa were no near as beautiful as this small unpretentious vineyard. Filling the vineyards, we went to Ston, known for their shellfish. Devoured oyster after ouster and drank wine, again while looking at a beautiful vista. Drazen had a bunch of great surprises included for us that I won’t spoil for future travelers. I highly recommend the local tours through Viator and would highly Drazen as your guide ahould you find yourself in Dubrovnik, Croatia
This was a very good visit at the start of our vacation which introduced us to the wines of the region. Like the review before me, we also received an email the day prior to the tour stating that we needed to be ready at 8:00 rather than 10:00 to allow time for the border crossing. The driver, Chris, was also surprised by this because most of the wineries open later and there is no border crossing. Nonetheless, we started early which worked out for us because the first stop was at the town of Ston. We walked the walls at Ston and visited the salt factory. The weather had been hot in that area, so we were glad we walked the walls early because it would be much hotter later in the day. We visited 3 wineries and had a wonderful seafood lunch in Trstenik near the Grgic winery. We learned a lot about the grape varieties and found the 3 wineries to be different and interesting. Chris also told us a lot about Croatia and its economy since it was our first tour there. He took us to take pictures and see how the grapes grow. I would have liked to take more pictures of the Peljesac peninsula because it is very pretty, but it is possible the roads were too narrow to stop very often. All in all, it was a very good day. Even my young adult children found it interesting and we were able to choose wines during the rest of our stay knowing were they came from. We also took home 3 bottles as souvenirs. I would recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in wine because it helps to understand where the grapes are grown and how the wine is made. It was a nice introduction to the beginning of our trip.

My husband and I booked this tour as part of our honeymoon and were really excited to drink wine and eat oysters. The tour provider emailed me the day before to set the pick-up time and location. The tour lists 10am as the start time, however via email I was told we needed to start between 7 am and 8 am to avoid potentially long lines at the border...weird but ok, maybe it is further away than I thought. NO - you do not cross a border and it took approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour to reach Ston. Do you know what there is to do there at 8:30 in the morning? Nothing. Needless to say we did not have oysters in Ston. Our driver questioned why we started so early and was shocked to hear it was the agency. We wandered the town of Ston until it was an acceptable time and the wineries opened! to visit the wineries. The wineries were great and the wine very good. Our driver was very nice and personable. He took us to a small eatery for oysters and mussels which was a definite highlight. They were so fresh! Overall the trip was good but the early start threw the entire day off and resulted in us feeling this tour is definitely not worth the cost.

This is a wonderful tour. Ston is definitely worth visiting and the Wine Tasting was great fun. Our guide was fantastic and very informative. I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour and highly recommend. There were three wineries, but the best was a family owned one named Milos. Also, the visit to Ston was interesting as was our lunch at this location.

Wonderful trip with just the right amount on and off time with our host / driver.

Our tour guide Ana and driver were fantastic. They provided us with interesting factoids as we drove from one vineyard to another. Recommended a fabulous place of lunch...the BEST oysters I have ever had, bar none.

Wonderful way to spend a day.

Great day, lovely to see a bit more of this beautiful country. Only 4 stars as tour guide not quite as informative as perhaps she could have been. But definitely recommend going private.

Trip was great. Only problem is trying to bring back wine home..........

My wife, Evelyn, arranged this tour for my birthday, which happened to be a day when our Croatia tour had a free day. Our driver, Vlado, was experienced, capable, fluent in English and a delightful guy. It was a beautiful day and beautiful scenery. We bought a few bottles of wine which we put to good use hosting a group party for the other 12 adult members of our tour group. The wine was delicious, but our lunch was even better. We also enjoyed slurping oysters fresh from the sea at a little place Vlado took us to in mid-morning.

Excellent tour. Guide was well informed with driver good and careful. Wineries visited were very friendly and informative about Croatian wines and winegrowing. A very good experience.

We loved Olga! What a great tour - beautiful countryside, delicious wine and seafood! Highly recommend.

Guide Philip was the best. Really knew his stuff . Took us after the wineries to a little oyster and mussel farm by the side of the road and we had an unexpected feast! There aren't t enough stars for him
