We really enjoyed our day trip with Miho as our driver and guide. It was educational, interesting, and filled with beauty and history. Miho was a wizard with the logistics, picking the right times and routes to avoid long waits at the Croatia/Montenegro border. All in all, a highly recommended way to see highlights of Montenegro while staying in Dubrovnik.

Itinerary
We will stop at Verige, the narrowest part of sea passage between inner and outer part of Kotor Bay. Great photo opportunities of inner part of Kotor bay, steep mountains descending into the sea, towns of Risan and Perast with sailboats, and an occasional cruise ship passing through the strait.
Perast is tiny medieval city of only 160 inhabitants, located between vertical mountain and Kotor Bay. During our stop in Perast, guests will have opportunity to marvel the Baroque Captains' palaces and numerous churches with Saint Nicolas's Cathedral and its bell tower - the tallest in all of Kotor Bay. In front of the city are 2 islands - Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George Island. Our Lady of the Rocks is man made island in 17.ct with gorgeous Barque church and museum and can be visited on a short private boat ride from Perast.
Upon arrival to Kotor, once an independent city-state, and from 14.ct under Venetian influence, you will have time to explore its narrow streets, sunny squares, and churches followed by time for lunch (optional). We suggest entering the Romanesque Cathedral of Saint Triphon, Maritime Museum of Kotor, and Saint Nicolas Serbian Orthodox Church. Possible climb to Saint John's Fort above the city of Kotor (750ft altitude). Your guide will explain you all the important sites beforehand and hand you the free map of the city to explore it on your own.
Trojica Hill Pass is located between Kotor and Grbalj. We will do 2 panoramic photo-stops. One stop would be just before the pass so guests can enjoy views of the inner part of the Bay with Kotor tucked in the very bottom of it. The second photo stop is just after the pass with great views of outer Kotor Bay, Flower Island, and the city of Tivat, its airport and marina.
The town of Tivat used to be a military naval base for Yugoslav National navy but it underwent through a tourism renessaince in early 2000s where the naval base had been transformed to Luxury megayacht marina and hotel/resort town adjacened to historical town of Tivat. Have a stroll through its bustling sunny promenade and have a snack or lunch in one of the many Porto Montenego stylish or Tivat town more traditional restaurants.
During short 15 min ferry ride across the narrow part of Kotor Bay, guests can go out of the vehicle and do great photos of the Bay, St. Archangel Church and little villages of Lepetane and Kamenari.

We enjoyed our trip to Montenegro. Our guide Baldo Stanos was great, we especially liked how he brought the recent history of the region to life from his personal lens. In Montenegro, Our Lady of the Rocks is a great location with an interesting story. The ancient city of Kotor is nice but was crowded given a couple of cruise ships were docked in the bay right outside its walls. The region is beautiful, and we really enjoyed learning more about it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We just had the most amazing day exploring Montenegro, thanks to our incredible guide Miho ! As a group of six ladies from Haiti, we were looking for an unforgettable experience, and he delivered beyond our expectations. His humor and vibrant personality set the perfect vibe right from the start, making the entire day enjoyable and fun. He was not only extremely funny but also incredibly knowledgeable. With each stop on the tour, he shared fascinating insights and stories that really brought the scenery to life. His passion for Montenegro's culture and history shone through, making us feel connected to the beauty around us. What really stood out was his helpfulness—he was always there to answer our questions, offer great tips for local spots, and even helped us find the best angles for our photos! We never felt rushed or lost; he made sure we all had a fantastic time. If you’re planning a tour in Montenegro, I highly recommend requesting him! You won’t just see the sights; you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!
We had a wonderful adventure Jacob was so kind and thoughtful and really listened to what we wanted to see and where we wanted extra time. I highly recommend this trip. You will love it!
Jacob was a great guide. He had many stories and history facts to offer during our tour. The old town was a lot like Dubrovnik.
We had been traveling in Greece and Croatia for one month. Clearly, the highlight of our trip was our tour from Dubrovnik to Montenegro with our guide Miho. The day started early, but flew by with his informative presentations throughout the day as well as his humorous stories. If there was a rating above five stars, we would assign it to him. This is a must do tour. We cannot thank him and Doria enough for our amazing day!
We took a lovely daytrip to Montenegro. There was some confusion, after confirmation and payment (I think the driver was sick), but the company was able to accommodate us if we were willing to move the trip by a day. Our driver, Meta, was very knowledgeable and eager to share his information during the drive. Meta stayed in the car at each stop, which was fine with us. But if you are looking for a guide to walk with you, this is not the company to use. It was a wonderful informative day and the price was very reasonable compared to other quotes we received. However, we did not stop at 2 of the photo op locations listed on their website (Verige and Mt Vrmac).
A fun day full of activities. First , our driver Miho drove us to Kotor. He showed us sights along the way and educated us about the history of Croatia and Montenegro. He was really outstanding. Then we explored the old city. Our guide was informative and friendly. On the way back we stopped at the vineyard with an unimaginable view. We chose not to go to the church on the island because it was too crowded. Highly recommended!
Miho was a great tour guide. He had a lot of knowledge about where we were going and also told us a lot about his life and his family which helped us understand the culture of Croatia even better. We recommend him highly and without reservation. BTW, he has a great sense of humor🤣 we laughed a lot!
Duro was a brilliant driver and guide for us. He was knowledgable, friendly and flexible. Perfect person to have on a full day of driving and sight seeing.
On paper it sounds like a wonderful day - but in reality it is 4-5 hours of driving in terrible congested road conditions with slow and incompetent crossings at the Montenegro border. Our driver, Mladen, did his best, was informative and friendly, and it was not fault that the day was ruined by the travel and the horrendous crowds once reaching our main destination, Kotor. Two huge cruise ships had reached port, so Old Kotor was overrrun. Awful experience. The couple of highlights were our time on The Lady of the Rocks, which we got to with few people, before other tourists started coming; and the viewpoint of Kotor Bay. Montenegro’s infrastructure and road quality was completely inadequate for the needs of the country.
Jacob was outstanding! Incredibly knowledgeable about so many diverse topics and a wonderful guide overall making great recommendations. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, and we are tough critics! I would highly recommend this excursion to all.
We did the day tour to Montenegro as a family of 6 and Miho was our driver/guide. We had a great day with beautiful weather and were lucky as the road/border crossing wasn't busy. Miho was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our trip and learned a lot about the history. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful day with our fantastic guide Miho. We made plenty of stops on the way to kotor for some very scenic photos. He's very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. He and his company were really responsive and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Our whole day out from Dubrovnik was fun and enjoyable! Our guide Ivo was very knowledgeable and friendly. We booked a private tour so our itinerary was customized to our preferences
I recently had the pleasure of joining a day tour from Dubrovnik to Montenegro, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Our tour guide was incredibly flexible with time, which made the entire trip even more enjoyable and stress-free. Our guide's attentiveness and willingness to accommodate our needs made the trip memorable. This tour is highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Montenegro's beauty from Dubrovnik.
We booked the tour from Doria Ltd and the driver who took us on the tour was from another company. He didn't know our itinerary and was not very happy to take us to places as per the itinerary in our booking. We didn't get any guidance to visit Kotor Old City. We were told to collect the map and go on our own. We missed some spots as the road was flooded, which is of course no one's fault.
We had a fantastic day. Our driver and guide Miho was on time, professional, friendly, and full of knowledge. He made great suggestions for places to stop, and where to get the best coffee and food, and answered our many questions over the course of the day. I highly recommend.
Our driver Miho was 5 star! Very knowledgeable, professional, and great recommendations. Having a private tour makes border crossings, windy roads, finding parking a snap! Excellent communication from the company during the booking process and spotless vehicle. A perfect add-on after a week in Croatia.
The entire trip was wonderful. Exploring Montenegro was a must - especially Perast! However, the best part of our trip was our driver, Ivan. He was so welcoming, fun, and made this one of the most memorable parts of any trip we have taken.
Ivan was a fantastic guide. He communicated well. Our ride was comfortable and he asked how to tailor the day to us. For us personally, we would have enjoyed more time in Perast than Tivat, but you don't learn these things until you travel, and other people may feel differently.
We really enjoyed this trip - Miho was a great driver guide - very knowledgeable - tour of Kotor was the highlight of this trip
We enjoyed the tour with Ivan. We visited Montenegro, and he showed us many interesting places. The conversation was fantastic, and we loved how we spent the day.
Every time we go to Dubrovnik in the summer, we enjoy it a lot; it has become our destination since 2021. This time, we decided to discover Montenegro. We had never been before and chose a private tour but it was recommended to us because there are fewer traffic jams at the borders compared to buses with more people. What a great decision! The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. Our guide Ivan was excellent; we were very satisfied. He explained the peculiarities of each place and gave us enough time to explore each site. Without a doubt, we would choose this company again.
Great private tour of Montenegro! Had a great driver Paul, but skipped Port of Montenegro and didn't tell us until we past the town of Perast and then said if you want to see the port we’ll have to miss Perast because he’d already driven past it. Instead of driving the full loop and ferrying back he wanted to drive half the loop each way so we could see the sun on the fjords later. Wish he would of lead with that so I didn't have to miss a location. Besides that, driver talked maybe a little too much for our liking but was informative and nice. Would recommend, but make share your clear with them upfront of the itinerary.
We did the THREE COUNTRY WINE TOUR. it was amazing. Our driver Miho was outstanding and gave us an incredibly informative experience. The beauty of the monastery in Bosnia, the mountain views in Montenegro and the hospitality of the Croatian vineyard was unmatched. I suggest this 9 hour tour to everyone and anyone. This was an amazing experience !!!
The trip was a generally good one. Our driver was knowledgeable about the history of the region and gave us a good overview during the tour. The driving was decent and the driver accommodated the needs of our 8-year old child. However, the driver/guide also told us that if we were to actually visit one place listed on the tour, we cannot go to the other place listed on the tour. Whereas the tour says that we can visit both Our Lady on the Rocks and Porto, the driver told us that we cannot visit Porto if we were to visit the Church by boat. The driver also told us many "Tips" story on the way. That people who do not offer "Tips" are not considered good travellers by locals. That locals play a certain music at restaurants when French people do not offer "Tips". And so forth. Well, we get it - he wanted us to tip him and we did tip him healthily at the end of the tour. I found it a bit odd that tourists would be shamed to offer tips. Tips are supposed to be gratuitous and offered as a matter of acknowledgement of above and beyond service. Perhaps, the company could sensitize their driver/guides on this.
Our family booked 3 tours through Dubrovnik Day Tours (Korcula&Peljesac, Full day boat tour, and Kotor/Montenegro). The Montenegro tour began very early (7 am) due to traffic issues around the border as well as into the Kotor area. Our tour guide (Miho) picked us up right outside our AirBnB and we travelled in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan for the day. Miho (who also did Korcula tour for us) provided great commentary on the region, and had a good knack for finding the quickest and most efficient way around to Kotor and back. We spent some time in the Kotor old city (over run with cruise ship tourists) and then headed to Tivat, site of a new marina and fantastic sea-side cafes. Overall a really good tour.
Excellent.Filip was great. He knew short cuts and ways to dodge traffic. Amazing viewpoints and special place for lunch. Very informative about Croatia.
Be carefuly. The driver is rude and don´t fulfill the itinerary, two of the spot we don´t saw, but the trip is good. I ask to make a quick stop and he decline.
Jacob was amazing. I would recommend this tour to everyone. We saw some amazing sights and were so impressed by the experience.
We took a private tour for 4 people, and it was phenomenal! Our guide Baldo was incredible knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and eager to share his experiences. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Montenegro and learning about its fascinating history. Our guide also took us to a great bakery and restaurant. It was very worthwhile to be conveniently driven between different towns while also getting more personalized information via a private tour.
We chose to depart Dubrovnik at 7 am. We were met by our guide, Filip, outside the Buza Gate. Immediately, we noticed the professionalism and the cleanliness of the vehicle. After brief introductions, we departed and began our journey. Filip was quick to point out history and facts about Dubrovnik, Croatia and the region, including our ultimate destination of Kotor. Filip pulled over at a number of viewpoints along the way and offered to take pictures of us to commemorate the day. We stopped for coffee overlooking the bay before continuing on to Perast. We had a refreshment before a boat tour of our Lady of the Rocks. Afterward, we entered Kotor and had some time to wander the city ourselves. Filip picked us up after the Kotor visit and took us to a "hidden gem" of a restaurant, which was wonderful. All aspects of the tour were wonderful and easy, from pickup, to the checkpoints, to the recommendations and the stops! Hightly recommend for a private tour.
Jacob was friendly and punctual. He gave us a little history of what it is like to grow up in the area. Ample time to look around. Safe driver. Extremely patient. Gave us options of what we can do that day. Only thing I would have liked was maybe an option of a walk around in the various tourist areas with a little bit more history as a tour guide before letting us wander on our own. Otherwise, no complaints. no issues. Would do again. Small group is defintely better
We had a wonderful time on our private tour of Montenegro. Our tour guide, Mladen, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He knew all the history about the area. We would definitely recommend this tour.
The full-day tour to Montenegro was chanting and beautiful. Filip, the tour guide, was very informative and knowledgeable. He was thoughtful and caring in explaining the sites of Montenegro. Also, the ride was enjoyable and comfortable. He made wonderful suggestions for food and pictures.
Miho was an excellent tour guide. He made sure we maximized our tour time and was flexible with our requests such as visiting Kotor. We appreciated how knowledgeable he was of the area of the rock history of Montenegro. We highly recommend Miho and this tour!
We had such a great time exploring Kotor Bay from Dubrovnik! Josip was our guide, and he had so many interesting stories to tell about the locations. Each stop was beautiful and we were able to get some delicious food. I would have loved to have more time at each stop, but getting to see so much in one day was great. We also mentioned how we hadn't gotten to go up to the top of Mount Srd, overlooking Dubrovnik. On our way home, Josip took us out of his way to get us up there for one last stop at the end of our trip! If you only have a short time to see the area, this is the perfect trip to see some of Montenegro.
A great day trip to Montenegro. Our guide was very knowledgeable and tried to make our day special. We say beautiful places and learnt about the culture and history. A great day.
I recommend this day trip. You really get to experience the beautiful Bay of Kotor. Fillip was our guide. He took us to some idyllic spots and we never had to deal with crowds. I loved the boat trip at Perast. Plenty of time to see all of Kotor City. We got to experience the Black Mountains and the Bay of Kotor from some spectacular viewpoints. The border crossing was easy thanks to Fillip’ s relationship with the officials. Great day.
This was my first time booking a private tour and my driver/guide Filip was amazing. He picked me up on time and stopped at all the good scenic spots along the way so that I could take good photos. Filip was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about Dubrovnik and Montenegro, but also knew a lot about the entire Dalmatian area; the history, geography, people, food and culture. He made sure I had enough time at all the stops and took me to a hidden gem of a restaurant for lunch. I had a great time, highly recommend!
We had a great day with Baldo. Learned a lot about the history of the area and got some great insight into what it was like growing up and living in Dubrovnik. Felt like we were in good hands during the trip. We really enjoyed our day trip to Montenegro and would definitely recommend it if you have the time. The one thing that I'd recommend is to check to see is if there is a cruise ship docking in Kotor the day you're planning on going and if possible, try to get there as early as possible before the ship arrives. It can get very crowded in town when a cruise ship is there.
We booked this private tour and our driver guide Filip was really passionate and informative on Croatia and Montenegro. Pointed out all the good photo spots and stop at a secluded and scenic spot for lunch. Had a wonderful time with Filip who looked after us well during the whole tour. Highly recommended!
Our group of 8 did a full day tour of Cavat and Dubrovnik with Doria Ltd. They were amazing to deal with. Josip was responsive and adaptive when our cruise ship couldn’t dock at the port and we had to come in on a tender. he ensured someone met us as the dock to walk us to our tour bus and guide (Josip 2). From there we headed up the mountain to get a panoramic view of the old City. Off to Cavat for a beautiful walk along the shoreline before being seamlessly handed off to Robert back at the Old City. Robert was a joy to spend the afternoon with. His knowledge, sense of humour and first hand experience, having appeared in Game of Thrones made for a wonderful afternoon. I would definitely recommend Doria Ltd. Their vehicles, staff and experiences are first rate.
Montenegro is stunning. Great day out. The old town has much to offer. Our driver was very knowledgeable.
Amazing day trip to Montenegro with a return to Dubrovnik via Bosnia. Filip was a fantastic guide and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see some unique views.
It was a very organized and flexible trip to Montenegro. The one day trip is just right to enjoy the beauty of Montenegro. The driver/tour guide is very knowledgeable and accommodative. Truly enjoyed!
An excellent and carefully-planned tour. Mato was highly informative and was very conscious of avoiding long border-crossing queues wherever possible by taking lesser-used, if longer, routes on occasions. in order to successfully avoid them. I would strongly suggest taking a car-based tour like this one rather than a bus-based tour, as the amount of time wasted on an already-long tour by having to process 40 passports at the border is huge. So I can highly recommend this tour and Mato as an excellent, considerate and very knowledgable tour guide and driver. Thank Mato.
We had an amazing full day private tour with Filip, he was so knowledgeable and knew all the best places to go Would recommend this tour to anyone
What an amazing day, our guide Filip was especially amazing! He was very knowledgeable and knew of all the best places to take us to get the best views and all the back roads to avoid the traffic as much as possible! Had an amazing time!
