Well run tour, on time. Guide Anna was great... kind, relaxed, interacted with everyone, clear with instructions/expectations. Driver was also great. Tour gave just enough time at each stop.

It was a lovely bus trip. The driver and our tour guide were wonderful. Such a lovely young lady. Perast was a lovely little village full of charm and many pretty cats around. I was able to get my cat fix. Kotor was very nice but I found it was very touristy. And that’s just my opinion I’m not one for tourist hot spots. The boat ride from Perast to kotor was lovely and scenic . I can’t fault the tour or the tour guides it just wasn’t my cup of tea and I didn’t realise how touristy it was going to be. Lovely weather lovely tour.
We love this trip alot. Our guide, driver whole trip was 100% success!Montenegro is a beautiful and worth to see.
It was a very good trip. Everything was on time as planned. Our guide (Sandra) was very friendly and helpful. The trip with the boat was my favorite part. I would recommend it to everyone.
While Kotor is beautiful, Select Dubrovnik was not a good tour provider. What a disappointment. They were late 30 minutes to pick us up. Given that it is such a long trip, this was unprofessional and disappointing start to our day. We thought we were in the wrong pick up area at first and had to phone them twice to make sure they were coming at their designated meeting point. The tour guide was polite but disinterested. She made little effort to engage with everyone. There was little group dynamic. There was some historical details at first. Then, when we were on the beautiful boat trip to Kotor, there was NO commentary at all. There were monasteries, towns and buildings where I was curious but had to do searches about after I got back to Dubrovnik. I just didn’t feel the guide was interested or approachable. Given the cost of the tour and the amount of hours the guide spends with the group, some effort should be made. The most disappointing and bad value tour I’ve ever experienced. An effort and some professionalism needs to be made. Phoning it in doesn’t cut it for such a full day touring. Don’t use this tour provider!
My wife and I took the tour to Bay of Kotor, Montenegro from Dubrovnik Hotel. Kotor was beatiful all around. The tour itself and specially the Portuguese lady/ guide were horrible. The breakdown goes like this, 4 +hours on bus, 2 hours at border crossing, 1/2 hour at some shopping center?, 2 hours total at Bay of Kotor. The tour guide lady rips you off for 2 euros each for an entrance fee to old town "Which is really free to get in" so she can go have her mussels lunch on you, and she's very un professional, talks about Yoga and spiritual crap the hole ride.
Montenegro was beautiful and well worth the trip. We did the small group tour and it was phenomenal. Our guide Patricia was great and gave us lots of information on the bus ride to Montenegro as well as recommendations on when and where to eat. Our Lady of the Rock was very interesting and Kotor beautiful.
We asked for a minivan but were advised it would be a coach as the trip would take 1 hour by coach and 45 minutes by bus. It took 3.5 hours due to the wait at the border and the one way system. The coach was not well-ventilated and while the guide was very good, hotel pick up was punctual and the boat journey to Kotor was lovely, the 7 hour round trip in a hot coach, and then drop off for every hotel guest made the day exhausting. If you go, go in May or September in a mini van as Kotor is stunning, and cheaper than Croatia, and the trip is good value.
Great tour guide at Kotor. He was very knowledgeable explaining the history and gave us good recommendations about dining options.
Tour guide on bus - Rosa Bus driver - Vide Tour guide in Montenegro - Vesna Everyone was friendly and helpful with great information about what to expect on the tour and history of the area. Activities were well planned with sufficient time for free time, comfort stops for toilets and refreshments. Fascinating scenery and a luxurious coach for the drive to Kotor Bay and Montenegro. Boat ride was enjoyable and gave a fantastic opportunity to view the entire Kotor Bay. Made me want to plan a separate trip to spend more time in the area. Will definitely recommend and book more excursions with this company.
We went on the day trip from Dubrovnik and had a OK experience. The best part was the boat trip between Our Lady of the Rocks and Kotor (beautiful) and wandering Kotor on our own for several hours. However this company (or maybe just our guide Steven) is terrible about logistics. We met at the Pile gate and spent 15 minutes trying to find our bus in the maze of people and unlike other tours with signs and organized lists Steven was just quietly standing around - we had no idea he represented a company. We spent about an hour after that picking up other guests on our bus (which I expected from other reviews). But then on the bus ride Steven provided a little commentary but spent more time talking about bathroom stops (when we had to make sure to go since they didn’t want to stop). What commentary there was seemed to focus a lot on how lazy people from Montenegro were. At the border (about a 45 minute wait) we were allowed to use the restroom but only two at a time and there was no toilet paper - you’d think guides would have some toilet paper just in case. We had some free time (20 minutes) in Perast and then we were told to meet on the boat - all of the guests were on the boat before Steven who showed up a couple of minutes late so we were just guessing it was the correct boat to be on. We had a local guide on the boat ride who told us she hasn’t done a tour in two years and whose commentary (what we could hear) was delivered relatively monotone and wasn’t exciting. The boat ride was lovely however, beautiful views. The best part of the trip was when we were on our own to explore Kotor for a couple of hours - we walked the walls up to the church which was beautiful. After the long bus ride back to Dubrovnik (during which our driver stopped to pick up his phone and talk at least 5 times which made me very nervous on the narrow roads), our driver refused to drop us off at the Pile gate (too much traffic?) so they dropped us off above the Old City on the main road so we had to walk about 15 minutes downhill with lots of stairs to get to the old City. So overall, I would pick a different tour company.
Trip was all day, 12 hrs. long delay at border crossing due to one main road and high season. Too little time at rest stop. Too much time at Kotor Bay. After walking tour free time could have been shortened.
Overall a great trip. I had a really bad experience with another company that I had originally booked with and read many bad reviews on but this one was great answering questions and keeping me in the loop. The time in both towns was quite rushed but in reflection to be expected given the time frame, you do get to see beautiful places and the boat trip isn’t just to old lady on the rocks but an hour long to Kotor from Perast which was great. Do make sure to take money out in advance, they stop over the boarder but the ATM was broken so we had no euros for Perast and had to wait for Kotor before we could buy anything.
Our trip was mainly special for two reasons.. 1) it was extraordinarily beautiful in the Montenegro fjords, very much like Norway and 2) our amazing shuttle driver Ivan; enriched with knowledge and a brilliantly enthusiastic, respectful and humerous man. Not only did he fill us with incredibly interesting history about many local countries, he got to know us personally and took the time to listen to our endless questions! (in several languages)!! We are so grateful to have met Ivan because he is an exception in Cavtat. We hope to see him again and will recommend the tour. A couple of things that really matter when on this trip is that time feels quite tight when stopping off at the sites, so really make the most of seeing what you can in the time you have (that includes going to the toilet-which you need money for at the sites). Also, don't be late for this because even 5-10 min late can affect your whole day and you could get stuck at the border unnecessarily! Thankfully we had a perfectly smooth ride in both directions because we were prompt😁 Ivan felt more like a friend giving us a lift than a tour guide, we hope everyone gets the opportunity to travel with him! We will miss you! Love Walter White (Michael) & his late for everything (usually, but not today) girlfriend Aimee!! Thank youuu!! ☺️
Great trip with Hannah as our guide, and Vesna on the boat in Kotor bay. Highly recommend as a day out to stunning Montenegro and Lady of the Rocks.
Excellent experience and Ivan our tour guide was fun, informative and pleasant. Bus was in good condition and the views were saw we’re fantastic. Only downside is how long border customs can take but that’s out of their control but just be mentally prepared.
The trip was extremely nice! I had two passionate tours guides, who shared a lot of interesting facts about the history, geography, cultural and food of both Croatia and Montenegro. The tour is very well organized and punctual, I was picked up at the time I was asked to come - around 7.20 and ended at around 18.30 when I was left in front of my hotel. The time plan is well constructed and you are visiting the cities with both guides and on your own. You have plenty of time to visit both Perast, Kotor and the Lady of Rocks. I would definitely recommend this tour, it was a day full of interesting things to discover!
Great excursion with interesting facts about Dubrovnik & Montenegro. Favorite part was on a small beach in Kotor where we took a dip in crystal clear water with views of the mountains! Highly recommend.
We had a great day, a lot of that due to the organization by our guide Ivana and our bus driver Bojan. I was on the fence about a whole-day tour, but now I am so glad we went. There are a lot of moving parts -- 2 customs in each direction, plus trying to figure out where to go, where to park, and Montenegro only accepts Euros, so trying to have the right money. It is definitely worth the $70US each for the tour. Nice big comfy bus with AC. Our pick up was on time, Ivana gave us all the info we needed, plus some great history about the region durinbg our drive to Montenegro. We took the coastal route to Perest --a pretty seaside town on the Kotor Bay -- we did a short boat ride to The island of Our Lady of the Rocks--neat. Then a nice boat ride through the Bay of Kotor, landing in Kotor. The views and topography are stunning. My iphone just couldn't do the beauty of it justice. We met our guide in Kotor who did a 30 minute walking tour of the Old town -- We decided we were starving, so bowed out and had a nice lunch. Then the drive back, which wasn't that long They handled as much as they could at customs, but the Croatian side wanted to see each of us so we had to get off the bus and show our passport. It still only took about 20 minutes. Highly recommend this company and this tour. Thanks for a great day!!
Tour was nice, but unfortunately bad weather which made the views unfortunately less nice than hoped for. I would advice you to consider not going on a cloudy day. I think it would have been very pretty on a sunny day. Busdriver and Croatian guide were very friendly and gave some good information. Local guide gave so much information that it was a little hard for me to continue listening. Bus was a very nice airconditionned and clean bus Expect from both Perast and Kotor that they are very much tourist focussed cities.
Full of knowledge and generally an excellent tour guide, Maria. Really recommend this tour agency if you’re interested in a great time in Montenegro. Big plus - Maria is has great humor too!
My husband and I had a wonderful time taking this tour with Maria (and Nick in Montenegro!) The pick-up from our hotel in Dubrovnik was prompt and the border crossing was very smooth-- even with all current COVID travel requirements. We had more than enough time to wander around lovely Perast before the highlight of the trip, the boat ride through the Bay of Kotor. We really enjoyed our tour with Nick in Kotor before having plenty of time to explore the city on our own and have lunch. We would highly recommend this tour!
Select Dubrovnik picked us up at our hotel right on time 7am. The Mercedes mini-van was very clean and comfortable. We made several more in-town stops for pickups. The guide was helpful to give commentary and what to expect as we made the journey and crossed the borders. The mid-way rest stop was appreciated. In Perast, we took the boat to the island, but were put off by the need to pay E1 per person to enter the church. We feel that the tour could certainly pre-pay that small amount for us as part of the overall tour fee.Since we had not changed currency to Euros, we did not go in the church. There was a local guide for the Old Town of Montenegro, an interesting and beautiful historic site. However, there were so many busloads of tourists (in mid-Oct) that it was hard to walk at times. We finally found a quiet cafe in a far corner for lunch. This was a long day in spite of our relatively quick border crossings. I would say if you plan to explore the Croatian coast including other walled cities, you might consider taking a pass on Montenegro.
We had a fab time on this beautiful trip, luxury mini van with air con, comfortable seats, huge windows picked us up first at 7.15, picked up other people and crossed the boarder in great time .Stop to get euros and coffee break, then on two the first village from where we got the boat, this trip is stunning please do it ! we where worried after reading the reviews about the journey but it was wonderful photo can not do it justice just so amazing.Really funny guide on the boat and at Kotor, what a character. We where lucky to have no board queues and was home last drop off at 5.30 in time for sunset.
We did this tour with Petra - who was incredible and we really enjoyed the experience. The other tour guide in Montenegro was a bit repetitive, but everything apart from that was great.
Kotor was very pretty but the bus ride there and back was very long.the guides were pleasant and tried their best to speak English.
We had a delightful time on the day trip bus ride and boat trip to Montenegro. High praise for our overall tour guide Petra, a knowledgeable, personable, enthusiastic and really fun guide for the day!! Also, our boat guide Nick was 100% enthusiastic in sharing the rich history of the Lady of the Rock Island & cathedral as well as the history & culture of the people at Kotor Bay! 👏👏 Our bus driver, also named Nick, was highly professional and competent in a no trouble set of border crossings. Highly recommend the tour - oh and Petra, whose day job is a substitute primary school teacher, needs to be promoted to principal!! 👍👍💙
Really nice day with our guide Petra. She is really lovely, get us interested and gave us so many tips about the visit, the history. It was such a great day.
We had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour. The tour guide was exceptional - she was kind and very informative, providing a lot of history about Croatia and Montenegro that we wouldn't have known otherwise. The bus ride was comfortable and the stops we made were fantastic. The boat ride through the Bay of Kotor was fabulous. It was a nice alternative getting to see some of the bay side towns of Montenegro from the water as opposed to seeing them from the bus on land. We also really appreciated the option to either stay with the tour guide or go off on our own once we got to Kotor. I think either option would be great, however we decided to explore on our own which was really enjoyable. Before I booked this tour, I read mixed reviews of other tours with similar itineraries. I'm so glad I booked this tour as the itinerary was exactly as stated and the border crossing into into Montenegro was not an issue nor was it an overly time-consuming part of the tour. Plus, the boat ride felt like a one-of-a-kind experience. If you are considering this tour, don't hesitate, you will not be disappointed.
We had 46 people on the coach and the border crossing took quite a while. As each person arrived at the coach the guide said hello take a seat, I will collect your passport soon. Passports were collected but the tour guide said nothing else until we were waiting at the border crossing. Finally she gave us a rundown on what to expect from the day. She spoke very quickly in heavily accented English and was difficult to understand. She just pretty much rattled off facts and figures with very little in the way of presentation skills. Kotor was lovely and the boat ride was enjoyable. On the way back the driver had the radio playing very loudly and the tour guide talked practically non-stop in Spanish to a group of travellers sitting near the front of the coach but didn’t interact with anyone else. I couldn’t wait to get off.. Would definitely recommend a visit to Kotor but not with this company
First the good news (4 stars): Kotor is definitely worth a visit but there was no guide, which was a shame for such an historical city. I didn't see anything much of Perast as the group divided into those who had the boat trip to the island and those who remained in Perast. The boat trip was a nice break from a long drive, however, and I'd recommend the extra payment. In other good news, the border crossing to/from Montenegro was fine - no nightmares involved there. The guide on the bus was friendly and informative. Less good news (two stars): I was really unclear on what this trip would include - it started with being asked what I wanted to eat on a boat and a pick up time of 10.30am in 'old town' harbour. My host in Dubrovnik said this could not be true and he checked with the organisers who said that it was now a coach pick up at 7.20am (but they had not informed me proactively). So this could have gone very badly.
I would not recommend this tour. We were picked up at 6:50am and didn’t arrive to Kotor until 12:00pm! It is quoted on the website that it’s a 2hrs trip. The boarder crossing is awful. We waited 1.5hrs on both sides. For a 4hr trip to Montenegro we spent 8hrs on the bus, not worth it. Go to Montenegro and stay for 2 days via car. The bus was very nice, brand new and comfortable.
What a great time we spent on the day. The guide was friendly and professional. The mini bus was clean and comfort We loved the boat cruise to Kotor Bay, its very enjoyable. Overall five star for the tour
We were lucky to not have any problems at customs so the coach journey wasn't too strenuous, but I would definitely recommend you make sure you choose the trip that includes the boat cruise, which breaks up the journey nicely. The scenery around the Montenegro coast is just unbelievable and the chance to clamber up to St John's fort is well worth it - breathtaking!
I really loved boat cruise,we had on this tour.It was the highlight of the day. We visited small island in the bay and enjoyed the view of steep mountains in Montenegro. It was great combination of beautiful landscapes and cultural monuments with plenty of free time in Perast and Kotor.Great day out!!!!
We joined this tour since it was the only one with boat ride and we loved it! Weather in Montenegro was just perfect and the scenery was breathtaking. Both guide and the driver were friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. Transportation was brand new and comfortable. Food in Kotor and local wine were also great and prices were reasonable. I really really recommend this tour!!
Nikolina was our guide and she did an incredible job. She was very interesting and interactive with the group and she was able to answer any questions throughout the day. Having the boat part of the tour was nice to break up driving on the bus. It gave a different perspective on the beauty of Montenegro. Overall, this tour is 100% worth doing and Montenegro is a must see!
We bought i tour with a Spanish guide and picking up at the hotel royal neptun but nothing of this happened!!!!We had to walk to another hotel with the driver of a van that tb did not enter our hotel and happened the same on the return!!In our hotel every hour enters on bus, van...At no time had an explanation in Spanish..
The boat cruise was nice and the scenery beautiful. The timing of the visits was good. The impeccable bus driver. Only problem: the Guide spoke too fast and became incomprehensible to non-English speakers.
Viagem incrível, guia incrível. Só tenho a apontar o tempo de espera pelo transporte de ida, num local não muito bom .
We greatly enjoyed our experience. Our guide Aïda was exceptional as was the driver. Initially, we were reluctant because of some criticism that sometimes the wait is long at customs and that the air conditioning is not adequate, to which we responded that those who do not want to wait at customs should avoid travel. As for the air conditioning, the bus was very comfortable and the air conditioning did what it could in heatwave circumstances (32 to 35 degrees). In short, we highly recommend this excursion and highlight the great professionalism of our guide Aïda.
Excellent guides in English , Ivan has been very professional and complete in his explanations. Also the local guide in Montenegro. The times in each place extremely suitable to be able to tour quietly each of the beautiful places of the Bay of Kotor. Excellent transport. We recommend this excursion.
Nice excursion, but overshadowed by a non-compliance with sanitary rules on board the bus: several passengers do not wear masks, while we will spend a total of more than four hours in this confined space. the guide herself sets a bad example by wearing her mask under the nose. In addition, we wait 1h40 at the border crossing on the return!!! Finally, the agency saved money by putting only a minibus to take back to the hotels, whereas there were two in the morning. We end up arriving at 8:00, for a departure at 7:00 in the morning, much longer than announced.
Nice excursion to Montenegro. Interesting guide (Maria), and easy to listen to, relevant comments. Good driver The boat ride between Petrast and Kotor is very appreciable Only negative points: - bus time is important compared to time on site - the guided tour of Kotor with a less interesting guide and at eating time (between 12:45 and 13:30 anyway!) is difficult to appreciate
Beautiful day, Our guide was excellent , welcoming and punctual staff!! A breathtaking view with total change of scenery. I highly recommend this excursion.
Departure from Dubrovnik by bus to Perast. Short visit then boarding with stop on the small island for visit of the church. Continue by boat to Kotor with visit to the old town in free time. This allows everyone to do what they want depending on the tourist flow. Very nice site. Explanations throughout the trip.
Despite the rain, we are happy to have discovered Kotor Bay. The bus ride is a bit long especially on the way back because of traffic jams at the border. The panorama is beautiful and the citadel is a beautiful walk. The guides are friendly and easy to understand, they provide many explanations
Exactly as described. nikolina, the guide, was perfect. I recommend this tour to all!
Just in time we were picked up at the hotel for our day tour to Montenegro. After about an hour and a half of picking up guests we could go to Montenegro. The guide made this time fun by telling things about Dubrovnik and Croatia. We had a good guide (Tijana) who could tell nice and gave many suggestions to do things in Kotor. We made a beautiful boat trip and had plenty of time everywhere. The trip was well arranged and informative. We had enough stops to eat and drink and go to the bathroom. Great tour.
