Great tour to Montengro with stops in Perast & Kotor. It was a really smooth trip, we were very lucky with the border crossings & had a minimum wait on both legs of the journey. Carmen, our guide was informative & great fun whilst we felt in very safe hands with our driver Anet who drove carefully on the winding roads along the Bay of Kotor. All in all a fantastic trip to Montengro. Thanks also to Tinka who sorted out the glitch with our booking from the previous day. Peter & Cheryl

Itinerary
Visit a small, picturesque fortified town on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. It's situated at the head of the Gulf of Kotor, under the limestone cliffs of Mt. Lovćen.
Perast looks like an anchored piece of Venice that has floated down the Adriatic Sea. This old town on the Bay of Kotor is situated a few kilometres from Kotor and is very close to the small islets of St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks.

Nice bus ride to Perast and Kotor. Border CROSSING was easy this time but heard sometimes takes hours. Our guide carmen was delightful, funny and very helpful. The driver ivan as well. Thank you all
Carmen (our tour guide) and Jovica (our bus driver) were both outstanding. Carmen was experienced, knowledgeable and funny too! Very attentive and helpful too. We would definitely recommend this tour service to all!
Thank you to Karmen and the driver. They were nice and supportive! Hvala!!!!
Great day! We left early 6:15 am but glad we did because the boarder wait to cross into Montenegro was 1 hour! Ilia our driver was awesome. Carmen our tour guide was great and very funny! We highly recommend touring with these two! Next we stopped for coffee and croissants! Our first town was Kotor, via car ferry. Kotor is spectacular in beauty and rich in history. We spent almost 3 hours touring, shopping and dining! Great food and drink. Next we went to Perast. Very small town with a 5 minute boat trip to the island of Our Lady of the rocks. Beautiful old church with amazing views. The trip back to Dubrovnik was great with a 45 minute boarder crossing. Thank you for such a wonderful day trip that is well worth going on.
We booked the private tour for 5 - for Perast and Kotor daytrip from Dubrovnik. Our tour guide/driver Diego was punctual and collected us at 7am near our hotel. The van was very comfortable and modern. We had no trouble crossing the Montenegro border. Diego was good company , kept us informed during our drive to Perast. We arrived at the bay and had delicious breakfast at Verige 65 overlooking the bay - beautiful views. Diego offered us the option to visit the Lady of the Rocks by boat which cost $20 euro per person which we agreed. We boarded the small boat by the restaurant and the crossing took under 10 mins. We were given 20 mins to spend on the island - and then the boat took us to Perast -7 min crossing - where we met Diego who drove to the other side of the bay with the van in prep for our next stop at Kotor. Diego dropped us off at Kotor and we were allowed to explore the place at our leisure . We had nice lunch at the Drunken Sailor- wandered around . After spending 2-3 hours by ourselves in Kotor, we met Diego at an agreed meeting point and time and drove back to Dubrovnik - we crossed the border without any issues and were back in Dubrovnik at 5pm - giving us time to explore Dubrovnik for the evening. We had good weather and enjoyed the day and was glad that it was not a long day as we feared. Thank you
Carmen was a great guide, especially as she gave all her commentary in English and then on Spanish. In the morning we were picked up a short walk to the closest bus stop from our habitation. This day was full and very interesting with stops at Parast and Kotor. Both were significant historically and incredibly beautiful along the Bay of Kotor. She managed our border crossing from Croatia into Montenegro and back smoothly. We had a good balance of free time and guided time.
We had Carlos as our guide and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more chill. Extremely accommodating and friendly. Carlos was happy shift timing and plans to avoid fit our need.
It was a beautiful experience! Carmen, Juanito and Joana were amazing professionals and people explaining everything with patience and care. Thank you so much for a safe ride and amazing historic information!
We (two of us) did a private tour with Carlos to Kotor. He was efficient, kept us on schedule, and incredibly knowledgeable about the region, politics, music, architecture, etc. He arrived ahead of our scheduled meeting time (7:15am). The vehicle was a VW Passat. Carlos used a less-traveled checkpoint to get us through the border efficiently. We'd originally planned to see Budva. He suggested we might consider adding more time in Perast and Kotor instead (the cable car) or Tivat, as the road to Budva was under construction and we'd likely face delays. We chose to do the Kotor cable car and spend more time in Perast. Was Carlos ever right! The cable car trip was one of the highlights of the trip. We bought the private tour so we could have more time on foot versus in a shuttle or bus. The bigger benefit we realized later was it gave us the freedom to alter the itinerary based upon feedback from a knowledgeable tour guide who listened to our likes and dislikes.
Thanks Carmen. Lovely trip, great sights and fun times. The tour ran like clockwork. Montenegro is well worth the visit.
Excellent day trip to Kotor, a fantastic walled city that has ro be seen to be believed. Our host (lady from Peru sorry cannot remember your name) was fantastic and funny, as was our mad boat guide. Highly recommend this trip.
Great experience. Worth doing it! We decided to take a day and travel to Montenegro and are happy we did this tour. The tour guide Carmen was great and gave us good information throughout the tour. The tour was very well laid out and both locations Prerast and Kotor were stunning. Make sure you take a great camera with you
Such a relaxed, enjoyable day, thanks to Ivan. We are a large family of 6 and travelled in a private vehicle from Dubrovnik to Kotor and then Perast. Ivan was fun and chatty, answering any random question asked. Whilst we had a rough time frame, it was very relaxed and Ivan just wanted to make sure we got what we wanted out of the day. His passion for the areas we visited were evident and he had plenty of conversation topics up his sleeve. I would definitely recommend Adriatic Explore. Thank you a memorable day 😊
We were three couples, had private day trip (10hr) in a seven seater car. This was the first day of the two trips we did with Adriatic tours. We were lucky to have Carlos as our guide/driver on both days. He was very fluent in English, good knowledge of the local history, gave us advice on good restaurants, advised us in local attractions and must try foods. We visited Perast (boat trip to Lady on the Rocks church) and Kotor. We spent most time in Kotor. Kotor is a must visit.
We actually did two day trips with these guys - Montenegro and BiH day trips from Dubrovnik in September 2024. We had a top notch experience with them. CARLOS was our guide and did AMAZING. He was very patient with us (we had our toddler son with us), informative, and great to chat with. He has a deep understanding of the areas and also provided some great suggestion. For the BiH tour, he suggested Blagaj which we ended up doing and I am so glad we did. We had a top notch experience. He took the time to understand what we like (we are not huge fans of crowds) and provided good advice in terms of what to see and the best time of day to go. I realize the price is much higher than group tours, but if you have the means to do so I would not even think twice. I have done big tours and private ones like this and it's like comparing apples to oranges. Everything is easier, and we were so happy we booked with these guys. This is particularly true if you have a child traveling with you like we did. They also provided a car seat. Border crossing took less than 10 minutes! I am sure the other drivers are great, but Carlos was simply outstanding. If you have the chance, request him as your driver. I also appreciated his deep understanding of the history of the area and he is a very easy going guy and easy to get along with at the personal level. Carlos, thank you again for a wonderful two days with our family and showing us the beautiful area. It was a trip we will always remember fondly.
Kotor is definitely worth a visit. Around 1.5 hrs from Dubrovnik, it is a charming medieval walled town nestled between the mountains and the bay. Very walkable with many historic churches, quaint shops and open air cafes. The bay itself produces a variety of fish with a distinctive flavor due to the blend of fresh and saltwater. The mussels are amazing. Our driver/guide Carlos was fantastic. He is punctual, polite and a wealth of knowledge on the area, its history, and interesting sites to visit. If you book through Adriatic Explore, I recommend asking for Carlos as your guide.
We booked the private tour as there were four of us and the cost wasn’t too much more than us going with a larger group and it worked really well. Ivan picked us up and dropped us off near our accommodation. He was on time, really friendly, informative and happy to tailor our trip to things and timings suit us. Kotor was amazing i couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard about the place before. A wonderful old town surrounded by an amazing wall stretching up into the mountain behind the town. Ivan was a super guide. If you haven’t been to Kotor and find the time to go you won’t be disappointed.
We would HIGHLY recommend this tour. We took a private tour (2 adults & 2 children) with Ivan, who was very friendly, courteous and exceptionally knowledgeable. We spent the full day being brought to fabulous sites in a very luxurious Mercedes Benz car. Everything went seamlessly and as already mentioned, we were very impressed by our wonderful driver/guide. This service deserves 5 stars and we would recommend anyone who is thinking about taking this tour to just book it. You won't regret it!
We had a great tour! The highlights were the medieval villages and beaches along the coast, where nature and architecture intertwined very nicely through the materials. We were very pleased with the punctuality of the service and the charisma of Carmen who organized the tour for us. She was extremely helpful and took care of every detail along from the starting point.
Had a great time viewing Kotor and Perast (we preferred Perast). Carlos our guide and driver was very friendly.
While visiting Dubrovnik, I wanted to take private day tours of both Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Kotor (Montenegro) to explore other countries. My hotel recommended Adriatic Explore Day Tours and I am so grateful for that. My positive experience started with booking. Iva and Luka were so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. They helped me customize an itinerary for each tour, answered all of my questions, and made great suggestions for how to maximize the experience. They even connected me with local guides in each country so I could learn more about where I was visiting. I was incredibly lucky that Carlos was my driver for both days. I can't thank him enough. He was warm, thoughtful, passionate, and entertaining. He allowed me to explore at my own pace - taking more time in areas that I wanted. I love his philosophy. He said that when he travels he doesn't like to be rushed and wants to take full advantage of the experience. He said that this is my vacation so he wanted to make sure I had a good time. This positive attitude and flexibility ensured this was not only good, but incredible. Carlos was flexible with scheduling, helped us get through passport control/border security quickly, and made sure to provide history and highlights along the way. A few parting thoughts: - I would recommend private tours of both countries as they are long days and passport control can take a long time if you are on a big bus. - I've taken private tours in other cities before, but I can honestly say, Adriatic Explore is the BEST and Carlos is AMAZING. Please request him if you can. I travel a lot and felt like a VIP working with this company. I explored a number of options for travel and can honestly say these were two of the best days I had in Croatia and some of the best in my lifetime of travel. Thank you again for the outstanding service!!!
Our day trip to the Bay of Kotor was unforgettable! Carmen, who organized our tour, ensured everything was seamless from start to finish. We had all the details and timings well in advance, making the entire experience stress-free. This tour was undoubtedly the highlight of our vacation. The crew on the boat was fantastic, and the locals on each island were incredibly welcoming. The views were absolutely stunning. I can’t wait to return to Croatia! Highly recommend!
Excelente tour 100% recommend Transportation on a Mercedes-Benz driver was very good patient took as to good locations And very fun and Food was Excelente definitely recommend Carlos the driver he was very good and help full
Great tour. Our guide cum driver Carlos was great man and made the tour memorable. He was more eager then us to show us more and better places.
What an experience! From our first chat with Carmen (who sold us our trip) until the actual journey everything was smooth, we were well informed and knew exactly the time(s) and what to expect. It was the highlight of our holiday, I can't recommend this day enough and Carmen was extremely helpful and kept us up to date with everything we needed to know. From the crew onboard to the local inhabitants on each Island (and the views!!!) the whole day was just amazing. I can't wait to go back to Croatia and book another boat trip with Carmen when we're there.
Our tour guide was Doris who was great!! Easy to understand and fluent in English and Spanish. She did a great job for us! Perast was good but would have liked less time there and more in Kotor. Only negative was the drop off. We were picked up at Pile Gate and dropped off somewhere where we had to fend our own way back to the old town. Wouldn’t have been too bad except the person I was with had a healing torn meniscus and had to endure a steep hill and many steps into town - unfortunately a good trip turned into a excruciating experience. Wish Adriatic Explorer would have told us about the alternate drop off!!!
A great day with Zlatko! He is very congenial, gentlemanly (always opened car door for me), knowledgeable about the history of the areas and has a quick wit with a ready laugh. His recommendations on where to eat and what to do were spot on. Adriatic Explore came through again! They will be my go to every time I come to Dubrovnik. Ivan was so helpful and accommodating in setting up our trip.
Our full day tour to Kotor and Perast was wonderful. Our tour guide in Kotor was very nice and recommended a great restaurant. Our driver, Kruno, was fantastic. He was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us as much time as we wanted at all of the stops. He even took us to the top of Mount Srdji so we could take some beautiful pictures of Dubrovnik.
The tour of Kotor was interesting and the guide friendly. However, our driver, Kruno, was outstanding. He was punctual, friendly, and informative. He even added a stop for us to take scenic pictures of Dubrovnik.
Had a great day in Kotor Montenegro with our fabulous driver / guide Kruno who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great value for money - I highly recommend.
We were in Kotor with Carlos and we enjoyed our trip a lot. He was a very kind and safest driver. I was surprised about that because taxi drivers in Dubrovnik... they're not the best drivers in our experience. Kotor was amazing, he showed us very nice places to visit and he gave us a lot of information. We will recommend this tour with him to other travelers. Thank you Adriatic explore and thank you Carlos for our special day.
Delighted . Very courteous, informative and such a memorable day . Thank you for a special day we enjoyed the experience immensely
We loved this experience starting with our experienced and informative driver Kruno. Montenegro bay and Kotor city are a must see! Kotor is a cute, medieval town. Lots of shopping and restaurants. The bay is huge and like a giant lake. Our driver took us to Perast along the bay also. He also arranged my husband and I a private boat to take us for 3 hours to the blue caves and other sights. We booked through the Sheraton so probably a bit pricier that way but very happy for the results. Felt safe and it was well planned out.
Excellent work by the guide Carmen and Ilias.
Very good day spent with our driver Illies and our guide Carmen. Very interesting comments in Spanish and English. Particularly good atmosphere We recommend
Excellent, our guide Carmen a charm, the best of the tour, with good explanations and always watching everyone.
Even though it was cloudy, it was a great experience to meet a new country. Tour Kotor, its streets and its steps. Seeing geography and knowing history is priceless. Our guide was Carmen , Peruvian, handled the tour excellent in English and Spanish. The tour was very good.
Carmen our guide for the day was waiting for us at the meeting point. She was super nice and available for our wonderful excursion to Perast and Kotor. She's succeeded in all of us. Keep an eye out while controlling the group well. Driver Ilash (?) was very courteous to both passengers and other motorists. Thank you both for a great day
We travel with Carmen to Kotor today 9/10 and 7/10 to Bosnia. We had the same guide, an excellent guide, dynamic, precise and all the time pending of the group. It is excellent therefore more than recommended , very helpful, friendly .100% recommended The Tour very good, also recommended. I would recommend that the Enterprise improve the air conditioning of buses, Silvia Adriana Rey and Martin Dominguez
The guide has explained everything phenomenal for each place we pass, in addition to its history. Carlos is a great guide. 100% recommended.
Carmen and Juanito very professional and attentive. Very good experience!!! The day trip visiting Pears and Kotor proved to be very interesting.
Very nice tour, both perast and kotor are worth it Truth be told, the whole outing was very good, and Carmen very cool. The truth I recommend
Very good excursion. Our guide Carmen highlighted that told us things about Montenegro throughout the trip and advised us to do at the different stops. We started with cold and some drizzle so I cleverly changed the order of the tour to take advantage of the sunny afternoon in Perast. We do not cross to the island and you take advantage of the time by having a coffee and eating the typical cake of Perast... very rich! Mostar is an amazing place to walk and get lost in its walled streets. Repeat.
Everything was perfect! Our driver Carlos knows the good spots and we had an extraordinary day! He speaks great English and knows Croatia and Montenegro well, with reasonable border crossings because again the driver knows the corners and especially there is no secret you have to leave early. Really beautiful scenery with an amazing coffee surprise stop! In short do not hesitate agency at the top very comfortable car and excursion not to be missed
Mis amigas y yo pasamos un día estupendo y nuestro conductor Ivan fue genial. No dudéis en hacer esta excursión con ellos
Our excursion into Kotor's mouths was superb. Very easy to communicate with Carmen and everything was very well organized. The boat and the memories we keep are among the best of our stay. We recommend this tour thank you for everything.
A beautiful excursion with wonderful landscapes. The charming and correct guide Daf. We coincided with another group and their guide Carlos, very diligent and friendly. Both guides made this getaway an unforgettable experience. Worth.
The pick-up at the hotel by Carlos the Spaniard who drives the vehicle to the boat was wonderful. Polite, respectful and informed us of what we were going to do on the boat excursion. Thank you Carlos! . If anyone travels to Dubronik, ask this company to take you. Totally recommended
