We had a wonderful day. Pickup was smooth, our guide, Carmen, was wonderful, the boat trip was glorious, and Kotor was a fascinating town to explore. There was only one thing that bothered me. Although we booked with Deep Green, at various junctures throughout the day, we joined and separated with other tours each of which had slightly different itineraries. This meant waiting for one boat, taking a smaller boat to a bigger boat, having coffee for almost an hour, so we could join the respective groups. In the end it was clear that Deep Green was not operating this trip and that various agencies simply consolidate trips. This meant some unnecessary waiting around, and while our itinerary complied with our expectations, this was not true for everyone. I think Deep Green should have been more transparent that this was happening, explained it to us, and offered us the choice of canceling or 10% discount. We would have chosen to go ahead with the trip, but we would have known better what to expect. This is why I am only giving the overall experiences 4. Also we were told that we would return by 7pm and then once the tour began we were told 430. I’m not sure why that was but we would have appreciated a bit more time in Kotor.

Itinerary
The exploring gets especially interesting, when we take a stop in the City of Perast, a city that is protected – considered a city-museum, and decide to take a trip to two artificially created islands, the islands of St. Jurij and The lady of Škrpjela.
The Montenegro coast is full of tiny, colourful places, that tell a historic story. Among them is the City of Kotor, one of the most beautiful and the most mysterious. In the middle of Bay there is a small Island called Gospa od Škrpjela. There are many boat transfer providers that offer transportation if you would like to visit it. The price of the transport by Boat is not included in price and you can choose from many types of boats which price varies from 5 eur depending on the type of boat.
On return, we take a panoramic road over Boka Kotorska bay and return with a ferry boat to the other side of the bay, following by car/van through Herceg novi, boarder and through Dubrovnik riviera to Dubrovnik.

Reviews
The tour was by boat but was cancelled because of the weather. The changed for a bus tour and refound the balance. They are correct. And our guide was Joana, very nice person!
Really enjoyed the Tour, Carmen and our driver Eli were very friendly. Had enough time to explore both Perast and Kotor. Carmen gave plenty of recommendations to eat and where to go and a copy of a map. Best to bring cash with you as some of smaller vendors only take cash. Also have 3 euros in change for tax travelling to Montenegro. Overall great trip however on way back our vehicle broke down, and we have to wait a hour for another vehicle to bring us back. Carmen and Eli were very quick to get resolved however it was a pity we did not get to finish the tour with them.
In August, at the peak of the season when everywhere is crowded and even people working in tourism can seem a little worn out, creating an experience like this is no small achievement. What I loved most was the atmosphere: relaxed, warm and genuinely enjoyable. Everything was so well organized that you could simply let go, stop thinking about logistics and just enjoy. We were treated to five-star service from start to finish, with excellent communication and real attention to detail. Our guide made the experience even better, knowing exactly where to take us for the most authentic, less touristy places and experiences. Beautiful nature, great atmosphere and truly outstanding service. The kind of day when you can just switch off and enjoy.
Save your money and choose another tour. Our experience was disappointing from beginning to end. First, we received no clear instructions about the meeting point and had to contact the company ourselves to figure out where we were supposed to meet. The van used for transportation had no functioning air conditioning, which was already uncomfortable. We had also booked a tour advertised in Spanish, but once we boarded the boat, the tour was conducted in English and Croatian. The itinerary was another major issue. Several locations that are still advertised on their website were not visited at all, and although swimming in the sea is mentioned as part of the tour, we never had the chance to swim. The worst part was the guide’s attitude. When we simply asked about the missing stops, she became visibly irritated and responded rudely, as though we were to blame for expecting the itinerary that the company itself advertises. To make things even stranger, we were told we couldn’t sit in certain seats on the boat, because they belonged to other people, despite there being no assigned seating system. Poor organization, misleading advertising and terrible customer service. There are much better ways to spend your time and money.
If you have the chance to skip this tour, do it. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing and did not match what was advertised. To begin with, we had to contact them ourselves to find out where and how we were supposed to meet. The tour we booked and paid for was supposed to be in Spanish, but once we got out of the van — which had no working air conditioning — and boarded the boat, the tour was mainly conducted in English and Croatian. Several stops advertised on their website were simply skipped. They also advertised the possibility of swimming in the sea, but that never happened either. When we politely asked the guide about the missing stops, she became annoyed and spoke to us in a very rude way, almost as if it were our fault for asking about something that THEY continue to advertise on their website. Her attitude and lack of friendliness made the experience even worse. On the boat, we were also told we couldn’t sit in certain places because they were supposedly reserved for other passengers, even though there was no assigned seating and nobody had paid for specific seats. Overall: poor communication, several advertised activities not delivered, an uncomfortable van, and very poor customer service. If you have the opportunity to miss this tour, take it.
Definitely not a tour I would recommend. If you can avoid it, you should. The problems started before the tour even began. Nobody gave us proper meeting instructions, so we had to reach out ourselves to ask where we needed to go. We specifically paid for a tour in Spanish, but after being transported in a van with broken air conditioning and getting on the boat, the explanations were mostly in English and Croatian. Even more disappointing was the itinerary. The company advertises several places and stops on its website, but we did not visit many of them. Swimming in the sea was also advertised as part of the experience, yet we were never given the opportunity to do so. When we asked the guide why we weren’t visiting the other advertised locations, instead of simply explaining the situation, she became defensive and angry. Her attitude was extremely unfriendly and made us feel as though we were doing something wrong just by asking a reasonable question. We were also prevented from sitting in certain areas of the boat because they were supposedly “someone else’s seats,” despite there being no assigned seating. Very disappointing experience and definitely not what was sold to us.
We had a great time. Everthing was great
A really good day .Our guide Carmen was enthusiastic , knowledgeable funny and full of life person.she took good care of us !! She worked hard to get us through border control and kept us informed of everything on..the driver Ilhja (?) was a safe and steady driver a really good teams thoroughly recommend
The driver messaged the day before for pickup 30 minutes earlier at 6:30 in the morning. He was late picking us up. The tour was in English and Spanish. We had to hear all the commentary twice. The air conditioning wasn’t working well on the bus so it was very hot the whole day.
The tour was too short to be enjoyed. Website stipulated before booking online that it will be a 11-12 hours tour but it turned out to just 6 hrs. Chose an English Only speaking tour but turned out to be little English n many Spanish! The poor guide fm Argentina had to speak English n then immediately spoke Spanish in soo many words that she was literally talking non-stop ! Her knowledge was unfortunately not at par as she was reading her info on her phone !
It was very disappointing that our guide didn’t know that we were scheduled for and PAID for another leg to our trip. We were shorted full three hours of touring due to poor communication from the office. I want a refund, at least a partial one. Our tickets included a panorama drive around Kotor Bay, and a ferry ride across heading back to Dubrovnik. It didn’t happen. She was told nothing of this, even after checking twice with manager. Very disappointing!!
Good day, we took this tour on 6/9/2026 and your advertisement for this tour is misleading, it states that it will be a boat ride in the Kotor Bay and continue with a bus ride back to Dubrovnik (see stop #4) This didn’t happen and the tour guide and driver said the only thing they require to do is to take us to Kotor and back, NO BOAT RIDES. I would expect some type of a refund for the miss information, thank you
Horrible Experience. DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH THIS COMPANY I scheduled directly with the "Deep green travel team". They had poor communication, didn't specify pick up time or location until I inquired the night before, and most importantly did not deliver on the tour itinerary. We selected to take the boat option to see (1) island Our lady of the rocks (2) perast and (3) Kotor. We we left alone to wait for the boat for an hour in the rain. Once we did board the boat, the "snack and beverages" provided were Raki and fried sardines - half the boat threw them away. We did NOT stop at Perast. There was no tour information given on the boat. My husband and I feel like we wasted our time and money. When I contacted the tour company to address my concerns, they argued back and forth that "you did not get to see less of Montenegro". The tour company didn't complete the scheduled itinerary. Don't ruin your trip like we did. Choose a different tour company
Amazing trip amazing country would highly recommend the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable
Great day out , early start , no crowd at the boarder crossing. Take cash . Absolutely stunning views 💕
Our guide was excellent as was the driver. The weather was perfect and I was happy to show my group a beautiful region I stayed in many years ago. It did not disappoint.
The trip is worth taking. The driver, though not a guide, was excellent as he loves history and had some important knowledge about what we were seeing. The official guide in Kotor was colourful in both her appearance and her commentary. Never a dull moment with her. A concern is that the excursion wasn’t entirely consistent with the description provided on the website. A ferry ride on the bay was promised but never materialized. We were each charged an additional three euros evidently for the drop-off fee at Kotor and a tax. Nothing in the description of the tour indicated that we would need to pay this. It would best have been incorporated into the cost of the tour. Finally participants need to realize that during the stop at Perast they can either take the boat to Our Lady of the Rocks or tour the town, but not do both.
The most disturbing experience I ever had in my traveling history abroad. The bus never picked me and my friend up, So, we missed the entire tour. Was so stressful. Was impossible to contact them by the phone they listed for the contact. We tried to contact them for about 30 minutes while waiting for the bus with no success. We were notified by the text they left because we were not at the bus stop. They totally screwed up the picking up stop for us despite of our previous confirmation on the time and place for it. Apparently, the operator and the driver had miscommunication on the details for the place to pick us up. Extremely disorganized and unacceptable services caused us tremendous stress and extra expenses to get to our destination.
The tour was fine. The guide was new but she managed the group well. She could provided more details about the plans for the day. The only downside was they dropped us quite far from where they picked us up from. It was a lot of steps down back to where the tour started.
We booked the Montenegro day trip with Ivana. The drive was beautiful with amazing views and our guide told us interesting facts along the way. Montenegro itself is stunning — we’d love to go back for a few days. Everything was easy, well organised and stress-free.
It is frustrating that the tour is suppose to be fun and enjoyable since Montenegro is a very lovely place, however this tour company has assigned a tour guide who is very new to Croatia and has limited English knowledge. She cannot impart anything about the place as she herself doesn't know. Scheduled pick up timing is not observed therefore we we waisted a lot of time in the border. I wish i had booked this tour from a different tour company
Good day but disappointing at the end with the drop offs back to the hotel. Never was told that I wasn't going to be dropped off in front of the hotel like earlier where I was picked up at my hotel. In the very last minute, the tour guide said you going to have to walk about 2-3 minutes which took about 10 mins because my mom had a cane due to her knee surgery a few mths ago. Going up and down the hill was hard on her knees. This should've been communicated from the beginning! P.S. Pick up time was also given incorrectly which made us rush breakfast.
This was a beautiful trip around Kotor Bay. Our guide Anna was wonderful! We had a big tour and she kept track of everyone. It was an extremely hot day but the coach was air conditioned and comfortable. We did the boat trip to Lady of the Rocks island, which was really pretty. The Bay is just gorgeous surrounded by the mountains, the views were amazing!
My friend and I took this trip because it looked interesting and it would give us a taste of Montenegro. The tour guides, Annette and Tatiana, were great and gave lots of information about the places we travelled to. We didn't do the boat trip to Lady of the Rocks island opting to stay on the bus instead. We had some free time in beautiful Perast before heading to Kotor. Both of us absolutely loved Kotor and we were given a tour of the old town by a very knowledgeable local guide. There are lots of wonderful places to eat and relax with a glass of wine. The trip to Montenegro was the highlight of my holiday.
Nice trip with experienced guide. A bit short of time if you want to explore Kotor deeper. But that's the deal with this kind of group tours.
Great trip! Very friendly atmosphere, learned a lot and had an amazing time! They think on all the details and really take into account your needs.
We had a lovely trip to Montenegro Perest and Kotor was amazing and great to see. The view on the drive was spectacular and we had a ferry ride back.
The communication from the company was terrible. I had to call twice to clarify a pick up spot. Then they changed the meeting spot and buried that information in a different email. In the end we missed our trip because we couldn’t find the meeting spot. When I called the company they blamed me for their poor communication. There are a lot of companies offering the same trip. Please choose a different company.
Great experience and everything was so well organised. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and thanks to Ivana for helping us with the booking. She explained all details very well and made our trip memorable
I actually went to Mostar because I missed the bus for Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina are beautiful. All tour guides were excellent
Had a fabulous tour. Our guide was outstanding. She was very informative and made the tour a lot of fun. Always kept the group informed of next steps. Would go again in a heartbeat.
I've been travelling a lot through europe and I wanted to get a tour of Montenegro and I'd highly recommend this travel organisation, the guides were really informative and really helpful even though I didn't know a lot about Montenegro I learned a lot about their culture and the full experience was really great. I highly recommend it
I don't want someone to end up in my situation so wanted to share my not so great experience with this tour group: I signed up with Deep Green Travel for this one day group trip to Montenegro from Dubrovnik. The tour company I wanted to use was fully booked (I had a great experience with them the day before to Motor/Kravice Tours was with Super Tours- which is EXCELLENT with NIKO), so I signed up for this one. I thought these tour groups were basically all the same but I was wrong. First, Deep Green Travel apparently bumped me onto another tour company's roster (Sombrero Tours?) so during pickup, I couldn't find them despite asking all the other bus tour companies that did pickups if I was on their list. After asking a woman Johanna 3x, she said I wasn't on her list, but she was wrong since my name was spelled incorrectly, so I was indeed with her tour. Let me preface that Johanna is lovely and a well meaning tour guide, however, not the best guide for English speaking group since the tour was given in both Spanish (her native language) and her English was not great for giving this type of tour. She had to read from a script the English descriptions of what we were seeing since she wasn't as familiar with the history. In regards to the bus, the Air Conditioning was NOT working so it was very hot and uncomfortable for most of the ride and the bus driver was cranky and arguing with the tour guide when folks on the bus started complaining. In regards to the bus pickups, they start earlier thatn the 7pm start time. I was picked up at 6:40 am and the bus was half full. We then had another 3 stops that took another hour so we weren't on the road for another 45 minutes or so. The border crossings were long and despite asking in advance how long it may take since i heard it could be over an hour, they did not respond. It ended up taking about 45 minutes going to Montenegro and almost 1.5 hours coming back...so instead of a 5 pm return we got back after 5:30pm. Plus for those staying in the Old City, they don't drop you back at the same location so you are dropped off about a 15-20 minute walk on a highway without clear directions. Luckily, someone knew the way in the group. So, defintely recommended going to Montenegro, but NOT with this Deep Green Travel.
My wife and I, both in our early 60s, took a Trip Advisor Tour of Montenegro in October 2024 with Deep Green Tours. The tour was good but we were delayed 1 hour at the Montenegro border on our way in and 30 minutes on our way out. Passports are required! Perast and Kotor are beautiful Adriatic towns located in the Bay of Kotor which has towering mountains surrounding them. Like Dubrovnik, Kotor is a smaller walled ancient city with many churches, shops, and restaurants. Our tour guide Hanna was very knowledgeable and informative. The bus was very comfortable. The only major difficulty is that we paid to have a return ferry (on the water) experience and we did not get what we paid for. Our guide offered, at the last minute, to pay for the boat ride to the Island of the Lady of the Rock but wld not pay for our entry into the church (3 Euro each) so we did not accept. They should have covered the full cost. I believe Trip Advisor owes us a small refund.
Excellent planning and good day tour to visit another country in one day, after you run out off stuff to do in Dubrovnik, .... The guide was very caring and concerned, it is the best way to go..
Great guide, she's so very nice and came with clear instructions. The tour had a great taste to Montenegro, went to beautiful Perast and Kotor, time organisation was good, in general a great experience.
We booked out trip with Ivana, she is great english speaking and reconmended the best for us. Always ask for her. Trip was partialy by boat and partialy by bus with small snack and water/wine to drink. Everything on time. Great experience!
Beautiful day from Dubrovnik to Montenegro, nice local finger good and drinks, and spécial thanks to Ivana for her kindness and the very good tips !
Very very poor driver never turned up to meeting point person we called was a waste of time kept asking where we was poor service DO not use
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Montenegro - Our guide (?Annette) was very informative and helpful and our driver was competent. We did enjoy our stop at Perast. We aren’t sure why our ferry boat trip didn’t happen, but we appreciated the boat trip to the Lady of the Rocks Island. It was a good amount of time to stop for the ?1 hour 20 at Perast. Kotor was well worth a visit. It is a beautiful walled town with plenty of character and different areas to visit (squares, churches, 3 gates in the walls etc) We managed to explore most of it in the 2.5 hours we had there.
Ivana is a superstar. She helped us book a day trip to Montenegro and gave clear instructions and went out of her way to ensure that we have transportation from an odd location to the meeting spot. She was so sweet and helpful when we got lost and were late to make a bus. She connected us with the tour guide so we completed the trip successfully.
We booked this tour with Ivana, and it was amazing. We highly recommend the boat experience; although the island itself isn't particularly noteworthy, the views and the experience on board were fantastic. Kotor is definitely a must-see, and Ivana's service was unparalleled. We travelled with a toddler you can take your stroller with you!
This was one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling abroad. Starting with the tour guides and driver they were nothing but AMAZING. Then when we got to Montenegro the views were so beautiful and the staff on the boat was nothing but kind. While on the boat there is food that was also great. Overall, it was a great experience with wonderful people, food, views and atmosphere! Definitely recommend checking this out.
Such a wonderful experience! The guides as well as the driver were all so amazing! This is my second time traveling abroad but the beautiful views of Montenegro absolutely took my breath away. The staff on the boat provided us with great food and drinks on our trip! Both the bus and boat were very clean and comfortable. Overall, it was an amazing experience with equally as amazing people, food, and views! Would 100% recommend adding this to your travel plans!
The trip was very amazing. We envoyed it well. Luka was very Nice and kind. We didn't feel the 2 hours of road with him. He was talking about dubrovnik culture, tourism, locals, historic ... He told us many things about montenegro too and it's bay. Luka is someone who do well his work. Thanks for this amazing experience. Amir ..
The views were amazing. Kotor is rated as one of the 25 most beautiful places in the world. Ivanka who sold me the trip was lovely. Our guide in Kotor was very entertaining.
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Plenty of time to explore the destinations and a comfortable journey with smooth punctual collection and drop off to hotel. Guide was very knowledgeable and kept everyone updated on timescales and surroundings. Trip went ahead during a thunderstorm so we were unable to do the boat trip to our lady on the rocks. Enjoyed a spectacular lightning show in Perast however and the moody skies made for great photography!
Thank you Ivana for organising this wonderful trip, absolutely loved it, got picked up in a very nice air conditioned mini bus by the driver Johnny who was very informative and very funny, the trip to the bay of Koto and to Koto itself was very interesting and made for a great day out. Anybody wanting to make a visit to Montenegro i would recommend that you use this company.
We booked this trip through Ivana in Dubrovnik. She was very detailed in explaining the trip and answered all of our questions. The price is great and so happy we went. We were picked up at 6:40 am and taken to our tour bus. We had a great tour guide that gave us a lot of history on Montenegro. The boat tour was breathtaking. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Ivana for suggesting this trip!
