This was a major filming locations where several scenes for seasons were filmed.
Not only was this fortress an important setting for the series, but it also offers spectacular views over the old town and the Adriatic sea.

From here the ferry is leaving to Lokrum Island.
Lokrum is a beautiful island just off the coast and was the setting for the city "Qarth". The highlight is a picture on the official Iron Throne in the throne room located in the Benedictine Monastery of the Island. Afterwards you can stay on the island enjoy some nature. It offers opportunities for swimming, hiking, cliff diving as well as restaurants and bars. Ferry is leaving every half hour/hour (depending on the time of the season) and the crossing takes only 15 minutes.
Davor was an amazing tour guide, walking us through moments from the Game of Thrones show as well as general history and background of Dubrovnik! I enjoyed his humor, storytelling, and energy! The tour was a perfect amount of time, and we got good recommendations for the area afterwards!
This was an amazing tour. We were 3 couples from Canada with varied knowledge of Game of Thrones. Ivo was our tour guide and he was excellent - so knowledgeable and the fact that he appeared in an episode was very cool! We did the Locrum Island add on and it was well worth it. Sitting on the actual Iron Throne was a bonus. Highly recommend this tour snd Ivo!
Our guide was funny and knowledgeable. You do have to pay extra for the boat ride and one site. You pay when you get there both ero, cash and/or card are accepted.
Reserve, go and enjoy. If you have not seen any of the series the tour will help you make the decision to watch. Every inch of the tour was awesome and you learn more about what you did not know. It was magical!
Davor was our guide for the morning. We had a lovely time listening to his stories and the history and information of how Game of Thrones was filmed. The tour was also a great way of seeing Dubrovnik and some hidden spots. Davor was a great tour guide, very likeable and happy! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Diolch 🏴

The old town was really interesting Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. The only issue that we had was that there was no mention of the amount of steps to the Fortress and the fact that there was no hand rail to aid people climbing and descending these steps. This prevented my wife from visiting the Fortress. We also decided not to go to Lokrum as the queues were long due to the lack of ferries in the morning caused by bad weather (strong wind)
Our guide was very knowledgeable and sometimes a little humorous making the excursion enjoyable. We saw beautiful sites

We originally booked The Three Islands tour but the trip was cancelled due to rain forecast. We have not seen the Game of Thrones TV show but we booked this trip, especially, to go to the Locrum Island since Viator was still offering this trip when we booked it in less than 24 hours before the trip start time of 11 am. Once the tour of the fort began, the tour guide told us that with the previously purchased Dubrovnik day pass, we should be able to go to the top of the fort. After climbing 200 steps, the security guards told us that since our pass expired day before, we have to purchase the new pass for 15 Euros. We didn’t want to spend the money so we have to climbed downstairs. What a waste of time and energy. Because of this, we didn’t see half of the shooting sights for the show. Once the tour was completed, we thought now we will go to the Island but the guide told us that was the Island tour was cancelled due to weather. I would say that it was cloudy but it was not raining. Viator waited until the last moment to cancel island tour was very disappointing. The total cost of the tour was $40 and Viator refunded us only $11 for the cancellation of the Island tour. I think that is a rip off. We should be refunded at least 50% of the cost. If we would have known that they were going to cancel the island tour, we would not have booked this tour and made other plans to enjoy our last day in Dubrovnik.
There really wasn't much to see. It was basically just a walk around the fortress and a very steep climb that had a few at the top
Wonderful, Ivan was spectacular. He kept the tour moving, was funny, and added history to the tour. Wish the weather hadn’t affected the boat to Lokrum. But totally worth it still!

Not only did he point out scenes from the movie, he also was knowledgeable about movie making in Dubrovnik and its impact on the community. Such a great tour! As a Game of Thrones fan I loved it and would recommend to the 3-hour option. Davor was a great tour guide!
Cash wise: It cost us £45 for the initial 2 hours (booked in UK before we travelled). As part of the tour you go into the fort which is an additional €15 each but if you buy the city wall pack for €40 it covers the fort as part of the price (so long as you activate it within 24 hours of your tour). Also lokrum island is €30 each but a must do! From an experience point of view we had Davor who was ace. He was smart, funny and witty at times. He also shared some local historical events which added to the trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide he told it like a story and the 2 hours flew by. Even over at lokrum island we finished the final bits with Davor and then were free to do whatever we wanted (you pay the €30 for the return ferry service), the food on the island is lovely, and the lake, iron throne and other areas of the island. Honestly can’t recommend this enough, must do and must book if a game of thrones fan!
Bognam (Bob!) was a great guide. Covered it all. Definitely recommend. If staying on the Lokrum(recommend), bring a towel for the Dead Sea.

No purple balloon! We were there at 11am. There are hundreds of people in a small square. Frustrating, tour nowhere to be found. We were in front of the Tourist Center at 11AM!

Alex was GREAT! She was knowledgeable of not only Dubrovnik and Croatian history, but also well prepared for the tour explaining different aspects of the filming process and locations specific to Dubrovnik. My brother and I had to leave the tour a bit early, but she was kind enough to understand and give us a preview of the Lokrum island spots as well. A great tour for GoT fans.

This is an excellent tour for GOT fans, but also covers some really interesting history of Dubrovnik. Our guide was brilliant and a great storyteller. There are a lot of steps, but you do it at your own, so very manageable

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was Luka who was extremely knowledgeable about the sites and of course all the GOT trivia he threw at us. It was awesome to almost relive the episodes from the show. Unfortunately due to weather we were unable to attend Lokrum island but the company did give us a partial refund immediately. Our guide was brilliant, we started at the old fort, there are lots of steps so make sure you have a sugary drink and take it easy, we went the day after a massive wedding, so lots going on with dismantling everything but the crew were mindful of tourists. Our guide ( I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was incredibly informative and took time to explain. When we were at the top of the old fort, we had a freak thunderstorm come over and had to make our way down. Unfortunately the tour was called off shortly after, so we didn't get as far as the Jesuit Stairs or over to the Island. I did get a small refund however and we have managed to book onto another tour before our holiday ends. Thanks to our lovely tour guide - you were great! it's just a shame we were not able to continue. I would definitely recommend this tour but maybe on a brighter day 🥰
Loved this tour! Learned so much. It was particularly relevant as we had just reviewed certain episodes of GOT before we came to Dubrovnik. Highly recommend asking AI which episodes and then make sure you watch those prior to. It was awesome!

Make sure to read about the entire tour. You'll need to buy a ferry ticket, and a ticket for the wall. Other than that, it's a blast. Bring swimming clothes and towels!
You would want a good level of mobility for this tour, not so much fitness but there's a lot of steps that are steep and narrow and you would need to be able to manoeuvre easily on these. Definitely go early morning as its very hard with the heat and gets busier as the day goes on. We were there in September and was still very hot but cooler in comparison to 3 weeks prior according to our guide. Ivan was our guide and he was amazing and so knowledgeable not just on GOT but the history of Dubrovnik and even gave us tips for the best burger and ice cream which I can confirm were 100%. Thank you Ivan you made it more pleasurable throughout. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️
Fun GOT tour in King’s Landing. Our guide, Ivan, was wonderful! He is a local who is fully knowledgable about the area, GOT info and tips for travelers. Ivan made the tour so nice. Also Lokrum is amazingly beautiful.
