Itinerary
Pile Gate, Western entrance to the town
Stroll around the narrow streets of the old town of Dubrovnik and experience the history and culture of this magnificent walled city. On this two-hour walking tour, your local guide will show you the city’s finest sights. Your tour begins at Pile Gate; walk along the elegant main street and visit the most important sights along the way. In front of the Pile Gate entrance, you'll see the circular Onofrio's Fountain, which is connected by aqueduct to a spring 7.5 miles (12 km) from town. Then see the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century. Continue walking to Dubrovnik's Renaissance highlight, the Sponza Palace, which now houses the State Archives. Other highlights on this tour include Orlando`s Column, the City Bell Tower, the Rector’s Palace and the Church of St Blaise, the city’s patron saint. A great way hit get an insight to the old town. Elvis , our, guide was full of interesting facts about the city through the ages and to current times.
Sara was amazing! Very knowledgeable and engaging - we had a great time! Highly recommend to anyone, we learned a lot
Good walking tour with experienced and knowledgeable local guide - so he lives and breathes the community. Fun and informative
It was a really nice tour with lots of cool historical facts about the city - Kat was great! It wasn’t too long as well and going in the morning was nice to then have the rest of the day to go back and check out sites we passed by. This would be a good tour for people who don’t want to trek up and down the many stairs of Dubrovnik.
This was indeed a very informative walking tour .Just the right one I was looking for. Due to the low volume of bookings that day this turned out to be a private tour and Elvis was the most knowledgeable and pleasant tour guide anybody could have. It’s always the best experience when a local walks you through the history but also gives you a sense of how things have evolved. Elvis also recommended some other local spots and restaurants which I was able to explore during the rest of my stay in Dubrovnik. Highly recommend this tour!
An absolute must on your visit to Dubrovnik. Superb guide which brought the already vibrant city alive.
Elvis was an excellent tour guide! His personal knowledge of life in Dubrovnik as well as its history was impressive and added so much to the experience.
Customer Service reached out to me and said that even though I had to cancel after the 24 hour deadline, I will be refunded
By taking this tour and not doing the wall this time, we got a great overview of history and saw different parts of the town. Our guide was excellent.
The guide gave us incredible insight into the Old City into Dubrovnik including her personal experiences growing up and now working in this incredible City. The Old City is scenic and extraordinarily historic. The tour helped us take in so much in a short amount of time.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. She took plenty of time with everyone and spoke great English.
Our guide Toni, who speaks >8 languages! was so good. He made the tour interesting and relevant for us. He had anecdotes to compliment the factual history. A really good guide Only downside was not not everyone tipped Toni at the end. That was a little disappointing
Hard to hear the guide, especially with his farily heavy accent. No sizzle in describing the sights. Frankly, it was pretty boring. We left the tour 30 minutes early.
Guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, he was excellent! Saw and heard history of town as well as facts about the architecture of buildings and street.
This tour was such great value for money. Elvis was a great guide who not only told you about the history but also the customs, the people and gave a great insight into life in Dubrovnik now and in the past. Loved every minute and went at a gentle pace for all to enjoy. 10 out of 10!
We had an excellent tour around the Old Town with Elvis. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the Old City and showed us many different areas. He is very personable and attentive to all our questions. We highly recommend this tour with Elvis.
Elvis was an excellent tour guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly, sharing local tips and his cultural knowledge. Definitely recommend this tour as a start of your trip so you can have an idea on what to see.
This tour was fantastic. I had no idea of the history of Dubrovnik and our tour guide Elvis taught us so much! He was friendly, funny and very very informative. It was actually the best part of my trip.
We had a great tour with Elvis. He was extremely knowledgable and very warm and friendly. Could not recommend this tour more highly.
It was a beautiful first look at the town with an amazing narrator. My daughter (4 years) had an awesome experience as well 😍
Our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. She shared some personal stories and experiences growing up in Dubrovnik mixed in with the history of the city. 5 stars for her making it a wonderful tour.
Branko led us on a wonderful fact packed and personal tour of the city of Dubrovnik. He was numerous and thoughtful and shared his personal experiences of the war. Loved every minute of tour!
Excellent guide, very informative , approachable and friendly. Had plenty of time to answer questions.as it was very hot she made sure we stood in the shade whenever possible.
Really enjoyed this tour, great stories and information was shared. But most importantly our guide was super thoughtful and attentive always looking out for spaces in the shade for us to stop and listen.
Old Town Dubrovnik is amazing. Tihomir was excellent. I wish he had an all day tour. I would take it in a heartbeat.
It it always a better experience visiting a new town with a short guided tour. In this case we learned some important history about how Dubrovnik was built up over time and also how it was so damaged but defended in the war during the early 90s. A must do to truly understand this fascinating town.
Toni was excellent! His historical knowledge brought the ancient and historical aspects of Split to life. Very easy to learn from and concerned about us as guests.
Elvis was a brilliant guide. Friendly knowledgeable and happy to answer lots of questions Would definitely recommend
It was a terribly hot July day when we took this tour through the cruise ship while in port. The guide was quite knowledgeable and shared some interesting and fun information but some of his stories got a bit drawn out and he lost the interest of some of the participants in the group quickly. He seemed to Jean too heavily in participants asking “what would you like to see” or “where would you like to go next” when he was the guide and we were looking to learn about the area from him.
Very interesting and informative walking tour of Dubrovnik's old town. Our guide Elvis was very friendly, fun, knowledgeable and interesting. He gave us a lot of information about history, culture and the people of Dubrovnik and Croatia, as well as myths and legends to add colour to the tour. Fortunately we did the tour when there wasn't a big cruise liner in town so Dubrovnik wasn't too crowded. Although the tour was officially meant to be about an hour and a half long it was actually more like two and a half but was so interesting we didn't want it to end. Elvis was in no hurry to end the tour. He was a lovely character!
They all were, and Sarah did an excellent job. We live the old town and enjoyed hearing about its history.
Nice walk through the old city with a friendly guide she gave an informative narrative to the city’s history.
Very informative. The guide was very friendly and understanding of our various needs as a group. Her historical scene setting was very good was much appreciated by the younger members of the group and married very well with my understanding of the happenings after president Tito death. An excellent descriptions of the places of interest.
Our guide Karmen was excellent. She struck a wonderful balance of historical facts, history, myths and fun facts. She was clearly passionate about sharing her knowledge of the area with others. This tour was a perfect option!
The guided walking tour in a town I do not know before is the best way to start a short visit. After this it is easy to decide what are the sights you want to know better. This time we were only three persons attending the walk in Dubrovnik, so the experience was the best possible! Our guide Elvis was very good and with his clear and informative speech gave a professional insight in the history of this most remarkable city. Based on this I had a wonderful few days in Dubrovnik! I strongly recommend this walk!
Natalia was really friendly and knowledgeable and took us on a really informative tour of the old town. Highlight was seeing the pigeons have lunch at midday!
Elvis gave an interesting, humorous, historical tour. We have done a few in various cities, but Elvis is the best experience. Why? Because not only does he give the history of the building but why it was built etc. His range of ancient and modern history was wonderful with relevant facts to the growth of Dubrovnik and area. It would have been lovely to just sit down with him and talk more about the history. He also recommended places and things and patiently answered any questions. This does not include the City Walls - get the Dubrovnik Pass for that. Elvis is just a calm, well spoken, lovely person and hope he’s well appreciated.
A great way to learn about Dubrovnik! Our guide Elvis was so informative and entertaining on the walk. We learned so much that we didn't know and he pointed out little details that you will surely miss without having guide. He had answers to all of our questions and we really felt like we got a great deal out for the price. It's a good tour to book on your first day in the city.
Best tour guide and her knowledge was extensive. Felt like I was walking for two hours with a family friend.
Our guide Elvis was so knowledgeable and we got a good overview of the history and culture and discovered little secrets about places in the Old Town
Elvis was an incredible tour guide! He was interesting, witty, and super knowledgeable about the culture and history of this region. Taking a tour with someone who has lived the history of the area is a tremendous experience. Everywhere we went, he had a unique story to share. I would highly recommend seeking Elvis out if you wish to learn more about Dubrovnik!
Elvis was an excellent guide! Gave us a very good walk through the history of Dubrovnik and Old Town. Since we were with kids he made sure they are also entertained and kept them interested during the tour. Great recommendations on what to see and do in Dubrovnik.
I took Elvis’ tour with my brother and it was very informative and engaging. We learned a lot about Dubrovnik’s history and the tour was the right length of time. Would recommend as a very affordable way to learn about the city!
Great walking tour with tour guide Goran. Highly recommend. Informative with lots of history on Dubrovnik but also some light hearted fun.
Nice informative tour of the old town with a smaller group size so it’s easier to ask questions and chat to people. Natalia joined us on the walls at the end for a short while to point out key features. She also took pictures of me which was nice. Would recommend
Fabulous guide told us so much about city and gave us lots of tips of what to do. Lovely girl nana or nono her name I think
Dubrovnik is such a historical city and this tour takes you through the entire history of it all. We took this our after we had already explored the city for a day by ourselves. The tour took us places we didn’t find by ourselves and gave fantastic historical perspective. Our tour guide was a local and even had some personal anecdotes to share. It was a very well executed tour.
Sara, our guide , was great. Kudos all the way around. She was informative and friendly. I would recommend her
Great walking tour around the city. We learnt alot and our group was only small so felt quite personal compared to the other big groups. Our tour guide shared some greart stories and historical information.
