Very good experience, except for the ticket price which seemed too high. Many great views. Lots of steps!

The Walls of Dubrovnik (Croatian: Dubrovačke gradske zidine) are a series of defensive stone walls surrounding the city of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia
Originally as a strong four-sided fort, it is the most prominent point in the defensive system towards the land.
The Fort Bokar is considered to be amongst the most beautiful instances of harmonious and functional fortification architecture.
The St. John Fortress (Croatian: Sveti Ivan) is a complex monumental building on the southeastern side of the old city port, controlling and protecting its entrance.
Fort Lovrijenac or St. Lawrence Fortress is a fortress and theater outside the western wall of the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, 37 metres (121 ft) above sea level.

A fantastic experience walking around the city walls and a very easy way to book this in advance. The only reason we didnt give 5 stars is because printing the tickets, especially as we were aleeady here ehen we booked was a really pain so please can you try and get it so the tickets are possible on a mobile.
It was a bit of a hassle having to print off the voucher instead of using digital or your phone but besides that it was an amazing experience
Awesome experience. Lots of stairs and climbing, but you can pace yourself. 1.2 miles to complete loop. Incredible views of Dubrovnik.
The voucher that was emailed to me did not work at the entrance and I was not emailed the tickets. I had to call Viator to find out that the entrance gate only accepts paper tickets- which I am unable to get from my B&B in Dubrovnik. I had to go to the tourist office and have them print out the tickets. Which took time and was a frustrating experience. As this was non-refundable, it caused alot of stress. I now understand why it was non-refundable- because you can buy tickets at the venue for 40 euros per person.
We went early to avoid crowds in the heat. The views we’re fantastic of the Adriatic and the old town.
If you visit Dubrovnik and you can handle the steps you have to take a walk on the city wall. It gives you great views to sea and unique views of the city and other near by buildings.
If you’re a GOT fan, you definitely want to do this walk. Walking the city walls is a great way to take beautiful pictures and sight see while getting your steps in! Be ready for climbing stairs - there’s plenty of them. If you plan on walking the entire perimeter, it will take about 2-3 hours depending on how many stops you take for pics and take water with you! The month of May is a great time to go with less crowds and great weather. Lastly, do not throw away your tickets as there is a checkpoint midway through the walk.
This did not work. We needed to buy admission tickets to the city walls once we arrived. We used Tripadvisor for several other tours that worked well. By the way, this was supposed to be admission and self-guide only, not a guided tour. Hopefully will get a refund when I return home. The city walls walk was worth while.
Dubrovnik is a total tourist trap - and also a must see. The walls really are spectacular (even though they cost 40E). Can get crowded (and hot) so go early or late.
I had booked a guided tour with Viator for the city walls but it did not include the entrance fee, which I also booked through Viator. Viator only email me a voucher but not a QR code that is needed to gain entry. They were so unhelpful during the process and we ended up buying another set of tickets as we didn’t want to miss our tour. We kept going back and forth with the online customers service which was crap so we email our complaints. Less than a day later they refused us a refund and won’t give us a reason why. I won’t be booking another thing with them as they are not helpful if anything goes wrong. Be careful when dealing with this company Stop trying to put us off and deal with your customers properly
This sounds scary when 1000 steps are mentioned - but fear not - they come in smaller sessions :) The view from above is magic and for those taking it easy there are food/drink stations along the way.
Amazing views of ancient and present Dubrovnik! Definitely do it! Just make sure to go first thing in morning, before heat and crowds!
This specific booking requires you to print your ticket beforehand, but they only send it to you less than a day before. So, this seems to be an impossible ask for someone who had already arrived in country. A very unrealistic requirement in 2025 when scanning a phone is just as easy. It's easier and cheaper to book this at the gate
Aside from exploring the Old Town it is highly recommended to walk around by the city walls to see the stunning view of the Old Town from above, Lokrum Island and the Adriatic Sea. Picturesque in every angle of the Old Town.
While the wall experience was outstanding Viator are horrendous!! I want supplied with the voucher I needed to get in so had to buy a new ticket. This isn’t about the money more when connected them to advise I didn’t have the voucher they assured me that what I had would work, it didn’t! They claim to have reviewed all comms, but can’t see that the voucher sent on my end was just a “pic” not the actual voucher so I couldn’t click on it. I am extremely tech savvy so it’s not that I couldn’t work it. Be extremely careful when using this provider. They only work off paper, it’s 2025! And don’t see any wrong doing on their part or care.
Had a fun time . We went to the blue cave and to the three green caves , as well as the sandy beach . Dropped off and picked up by Dominic . He pretty much at each cave location explained what to do and even came with us into the blue cave to make sure we had the full experience . We were small group and it was a great experience .
In my opinion quite an expensive walk in the heat. Other than the views not a lot to be gained from walking around this wall. yes historic and good views of Dubrovnik but too expensive.
This is not worth it. Can easily get tickets at the wall for cheaper and they give you a voucher which limits where you enter.
The walls are beautiful, and without a doubt a must-see whilst in Dubrovnik. However it is much more cost effective to purchase the tickets from the ticket office. There weren’t any long queues and the tickets were €35-€40 euros each. Online it was equivalent of around €113 for 2 people. Take water with you as it’s HOT up there! Stunning views and absolutely worth facing the heat for!
This is a voucher that you receive via email. I don’t really like it because if you don’t print it out, they won’t honor it. So if you can’t for some reason and you show it on your phone, won’t matter- they won’t accept it. Regardless, one other issue I had is that only one of the gate to the city walls took the voucher. The other one sent us to the other side to the office which did take it. Overall NOT worth it and what was an attempt at being a convenience was in fact an inconvenience. In a time when most people used apple wallet or some form of keeping tickets on their phone, they won’t even accept seeing it on your phone.
Do not buy your tickets here online, it Costs for 2 persons 120 euro, and if you stand in line for a moment you buy them for 70... damn, we got ripped from this website.
Do not buy this! It's a rip off. In this day and age they could easily send a QR ticket and we would be good to go. Instead, they only send a voucher (not stated) and then you must print it (again, not stated) and take that to then get actual tickets. Who has a printer on holiday or wants to find a print shop on holiday! Horrible experience!
I ordered the tickets online, I received the voucher along with details of where to pick the tickets up. We found the location but no collection place ………After speaking to multiple locals at the nearby restaurants it appeared that the collection address was closed for refurbishment. After 5 phone calls that cost a fortune we were sent to various location and eventually got the tickets to walk the walls. The walls were breathtaking but, I will never use this company again !! If only we had been emailed the change of collection point we wouldn’t have wasted 1 hour of our short day in Dubrovnik and were unable to make full use of the ticket due to this delay. Avoid Gulliver Travel !
Having your own tickets you can go at your own pace, spectacular views , lots of stairs though and a bit of walking
Amazing walk albeit expensive and we heard there was a big price increase for 2025. If you are visiting the city for a day it probably isn’t the best value (although hopefully memorable). We bought the 3 day Dubrovnik Pass for €50pp which gave some other entrances but still only one walk entrance. The pass is valid for 72 hours when first used so on the fourth day we used it to gain a 20% discount on a early morning ferry to Lokrum
fabulous views all around a really interesting & enjoyable experience well worth the effort, a must for anyone visiting Dubrovnik
We spent 90 euros on a three day pass for two of us. No one told us that you can only use it once for each activity. We walked half the city walls which was wonderful and came down for lunch. We returned after lunch to find we could not re-enter on the passes! The passes also do not cover all of the museums which charge an additional fee to enter so be careful.
We paid $160 for an activity that would have cost much less if just bought a day pass on that day. I had thought it was a guided tour or something that offered more than a day pass. Please don’t waste your money on this. Just get a day pass when you get to the old town.
I have never been disappointed in any booking with Viator ever and have used them for several years. There absolutely is no way to access the tour by elevator. The only way is by climbing 400 stairs. No disclaimer in the description of tour when booking. One party member is 70 with recent Achilles surgery. Now I’m getting the run around to get a refund. Very disappointed
I didnt really enhiy this trip I feel viator charged too much as its only €35 pp if you pay there . I feel very let down and upset you charged so much 😪
Don’t buy this! This is only the admission ticket that allows you on the wall. Buy it directly when you get here. It is less expensive and faster. This isn’t even the tickets, it’s a voucher you have to exchange for tickets. False advertising at its finest. Will never use Viator again.
The walls and fort are amazing, however they are only 35 euros for both on the day. Having been to places like Rome and seeing how busy places like this can be, I decided to book in advanced to ensure I could visit the walls on the day I desired. However on the day you can pretty much buy on the door, so save your money.
Do not buy your city wall tickets from here. They upcharge over 30%. If you buy directly at the gate, it’s $35, on this website it was $50. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!
When you arrive you need to take the printed voucher to a place 6 streets down from the entrance to get a ticket to enter. We were not given the name of the place or exact location so after looking for some time we asked a few people and found it. This process could be improved on more information and signage as it was frustrating. The wall experience was a great way to see the old city and you can do it at your own pace. We did it on a hot day in about an hour and a half taking some breaks and it was very doable and enjoyable with many areas along the way to find shade and a few places to get something to eat and drink if you needed it and about half way there is a bathroom which doesn't require you to pay to use it. The steepest stairs were at the beginning and the rest was easy walking even on a busy day. It would not be for anyone with balance or mobility restrictions.
Dubrovnik is gorgeous and walking the wall was a highlight of our trip but Viator website would not allow me to download a QR code for our tickets. I was a challenge to get the actual tickets. I could only print a voucher and then I had to find the office location inside the old city to actually get the QR code to walk the wall. What a hassle!! When you buy the ticket you should automatically get the QR code ticket not a voucher!!
VIATOR DOES NOT SELL ADMISSION TICKETS. THEY SELL VOUCHER WHICH NEEDS TO BE REDEEMED FOR A REAL ADMISSION TICKET AT CITY WALLS OFFICE. That's a problem when you arrive early (8:00 AM) to beat the lines and heat. Except office doesn't open til 9:00. VIATOR DIDN'T REFUND MONEY. Don't waste your time here. Get ticket at the booth at wall entrance (you will see people lined up).
The walls were AMAZING! The tickets I bought through this site were NOT!!!!!! At this site they were 50 apiece and at the wall they were 35! Also when I arrived the “ticket” I had wasn’t even any good and the very nice man who had to scan all the tickets had to walk me back to the wall tours office in old town and print me tickets - for free because the ones I bought were a scam. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! Go straight to the official wall site!
A must visit when in Dubrovnik. The city wall tour is a great way to explore the sights of the city. Stop for a drink or a light meal in one of the many restaurants on the wall. Try to go early in the morning before the hit sets in.
DO NOT BUY! You can get cheaper and more flexible ticket online!!! Also, it’s so hard to find the place to get the ticket!!!
Walking The walls of Dubrovnik itself is amazing wne w a must do, but these tickets are extremely overpriced. You can get a €35 per day city pass, which includes the walls as well as every museum ando. Cable car ride to the top of the mountain. There’s a reason these tickets are nonrefundable. They know it’s extremely overpriced.
Amazing experience and a great way to view the old town from a different perspective. Several little surprise treasures along the way (gorgeous gardens, ruins from a time long ago, panoramic landscapes and ocean views). Note: take care in the heat, hydrate enough and be prepared for heights and lots of stairs. BUT, best of all...be prepared to be AMAZED!
If you buy the city pass, then this is actually free, and would warrant 5 stars. It's 35euro if you don't have the pass but the views on all sides are breathtaking. It's not for those with mobility issues, although hats off to the couple and their buggy, hoiking it up and down the stairs.
This walk is a must while you are in the area. Ticket also gives acess to the near by Fort Lovrijenac which also featured in Game of Thrones. Lots of stairs on the walk though, so consider your mobility. I'm a fit 55 year old who really doesn't like heights, but I managed and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tickets were good and got us access to everything we wanted to see. However, getting the actual tickets was a little confusing. I would recommend better instructions on where to go once you have the vouchers.
Great experience but get therev early to avoid queuing and bottlenecks. Great views Did take 2hrs Good coffee shops with unique views
One of my highlights of my trip to Dubrovnik the city walls is definitely a must. The views were amazing even though it was very physical and hot there were places along the wall to sit and have a drink.
Although this is a must do item, it is quite tiring with a steep set of steps at the start and many more before the circuit is completed. Fortunately there are places where you can sit, have a drink, etc and the views are very good. Although it is a 2 km walk, it requires plenty of time to do the circuit. As wew were there at a quiet time of the year, I imagine it can get very busy and crowded.
The views are lovely. However I would highlight that walking along the walls would be a challenge to those who are not reasonably fit, as there are lots of steps. It wouldn’t meet safety standards in the UK as there are many points where a short wall is the only thing between you and a fatal fall! Keep small children on a short leash. Very limited facilities on it too, like toilets, so go before you start. It is 35 euros to do the city walls, just the same as a one-day Dubrovnik City Pass (which is 44 euros for 3 days). Buy the pass as you can then get into other things for free. I would say that some of the other things you can access on the city pass are not worth the 15 or 20 euros they would otherwise discretely charge you, so the pass is the best way to go. I was very disappointed with the pass in that it prominently flags in the marketing “free public transport”. I then found out to our cost that this does not include buses out of the city to where a lot of tourists stay (like Sbrereno). That scuppered the value for money argument that led us to get three 3-day passes. The small print says it includes city buses, which means a limited number that we would never use. I do get the sense in Dubrovnik that things are expensive and you do need to take care not to be caught out. At this point I would flag avoiding LAJK restaurant at Prijeko 4. I now realise from other reviews that everyone else had the same experience of being ripped off. It isn’t obvious what the place is called so hard to find on Trip Advisor (I don’t think that is an accident!)
DO NOT USE: When you get there they tell you that the tickets are not useable at the gate and you will have to buy a new one. Not to mention, they’re cheaper at the gate. Then when you request a refund because you’re tickets were not useable they tell you “all sales are final” WASTE OF MONEY!
