Maldron Hotel Parnell Square

I stay at the Maldron Parnell Square at least twice a year due to hospital appointments at my specialist in the Mater Hospital, hence my need to stay in Parnell Square. The staff are extremely helpful and after booking online on the Maldron site (10% off to regular users) I call the hotel and speak to their booking staff and book the same room. As I am now in a wheelchair with a progressive illness, it is very difficult to sleep in a different bed so familiarity with the room helps. I will continue to stay there if the standards and the staff remain as good as they are! The staff at the desk are always very helpful and easy to talk to. I can ask the desk to deliver a fridge if needed for one of my medications which is extremely helpful. This is not the only Maldron I have stayed in and will not be the last, I like the uniformity between the different hotel sites and the continuity of standards throughout. So if you too have a hospital appointment in the Mater this hotel is not far away, comfortable, clean, great staff and staying here takes out a lot of the stress of going to the hospital especially coming all the way from Cork. I also really like the wheelchair accessible rooms and thankfully they allow me to book the one I want so no big surprises with room and bathroom layout and helps take the annoyance of not being in my own room or own bathroom I am used to at home, which have been designed with me in mind. Staff were excellent, I stay here when having treatment at the Matter hospital as it's perfect, only a short walk. On check in day I was having treatment late morning, after treatment I'm ver tired, I called the hotel the day before just to confirm my reservation, the gentleman who I was speaking to may have seen on the system that I stayed there before due to my treatment, he was very accommodating, saying we can have a room ready for you as soon as you arrive at no extra charge. Same on our checkout day, I had treatment that morning, I was allowed to come back to rest and allowed to use the room to rest up to 1pm, It's these little things that mean a lot, because we live in Cavan, it's just not good health wise to travel up and down every day. As always the room was spotless, comfortable bed, the complimentary biscuits are a great treat, they are just perfect with a juice, as I am little nauseous after treatment, cannot eat much, but the biscuits go down a treat and give me back a little strength. Because of all the above, we always recommend Maldron hotels to friends and family.

What a wonderful stay! My first time with Maldron and was delighted with all aspects. Reception staff were super helpful and accommodating given my earlier-than-planned arrival. Processed my check-in without fuss despite some issues (from my corporate booking agent's side). Lounge facilities enabled me to work quickly and effectively whilst my room was being prepared. The room was in excellent condition with all the required facilities and a very comfy bed. Clean and extremely well-presented with some lovely personal touches with a welcome note and chocolates. Bar/Restaurant staff were equally as helpful and engaging and I really enjoyed the menu choices available. Food was of an excellent standard and far superior than many other similar type hotels i have stayed in... and also good value. Check-out was swift and without hassle. All in all, a wonderful experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend this hotel as a friendly, welcoming, comfortable base from which to explore the vibrant city of Dublin. We were booked in to room 606 on the top floor of this hotel. When we entered the room we were met with an overwhelming wall of heat (approx 30 plus degrees C) We fiddled around the with air-con controls to no avail, even the max fan speed setting felt very underpowered and didn't cool the room at all. I ended up ringing reception and requesting a portable fan, which was brought up very promptly. The room didn't cool much during the night which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. All things said, it's a lovely hotel. Breakfast was very fresh with a great selection to choose from and staff were very friendly. I understand the room is in a corner location with a nearly full glass facade, but on a hot day the room becomes almost unbearable to be in and just doesn't cool down enough My recommendation would be to install a stronger or more effective air-con unit
