The room was a suitable size, and the bathroom was unusually large. However, the sink was quite small and positioned close to the toilet and there is very limited shelf space for toiletries. We arrived at 5 pm and chose to eat in the restaurant. Yet it was only the next morning that an envelope was slipped under the door offering a 15% discount there. Why could this voucher not have been available at reception during check-in? The main issue arose on the final night, when a dripping sound began around 10:30 pm while we were trying to sleep. The drips occurred two or three times every few seconds, which was irritating and kept me awake. Because we were rising around 5 am to catch the ferry, alerting reception then, moving all our belongings, and changing rooms would have caused a greater disruption and further loss of sleep. A quick look suggested the air conditioning condensate was leaking in the ceiling void and dripping through the downlighter. More worrying than the water and electrical safety risk is that this is not the first time; a previous repair is evident because the ceiling plaster around the downlighter has been poorly patched. I told reception during check-out (8th Oct , room 341) and asked the manager to contact me. I have not received any email, and more than 24 hours have passed. Other issues: A couple of blood drop stains were on a bed sheet (bed furthest from the window, near the pillow). Electric sockets (see the ones beside the bed furthest from the window of room 341) are not aligned (horizontal) and this gives the message that the quality mentality is missing. This is reinforced by the leaking water and poor plaster repair around the downlighter. That’s my honest feedback. *** update: the hotel has provided an amicable outcome, so overall a good rating ***

We stayed at the Leonardo Hotel Dublin Parnell Street from Saturday to Monday on a bed and breakfast basis and overall had a very good stay. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, with one double bed and two single beds, which was perfect for the three of us. Before our stay, we had emailed the hotel to explain that the trip was a celebration as all three of us had recently turned 40. When we arrived, the room had been decorated with a birthday banner and balloons, which was a lovely surprise. They had also left two small bottles of Prosecco, two glasses and two small boxes of chocolates. While this was a nice gesture, there were three of us staying and celebrating. I called reception to ask if they could send up another set for the third person, but unfortunately this was refused. I thought this was quite disappointing, as the hotel knew in advance that the celebration was for all three of us, and it made what was meant to be a thoughtful gesture feel a little incomplete. Aside from that, we were very happy with the hotel. The location is extremely central and within walking distance of shops, Temple Bar and many of the main attractions. We did walk back late one evening and, although the hotel itself felt perfectly fine, the surrounding area did feel a little uncomfortable at that time of night, with a number of vulnerable people around who appeared to be homeless or under the influence. Breakfast was buffet style on both mornings and was excellent, with plenty of choice and everything we tried was very tasty. The hotel itself was nicely presented and we felt the stay was very good value for money. Overall, a comfortable, clean and very well-located hotel with an excellent breakfast. We would happily stay again, although the way the birthday gesture was handled could definitely have been better.
Nice hotel with decent rooms if you are travelling for work. facilities may not be top in the room but decent enough. I found the breakfast buffet decent enough. the only thing I would point out ... the gym is way too small and with more than two people certainly is difficult to exercise.
This was a great hotel close to many amenities - shopping, restaurants, bus stops. O’Connell street was just around the corner and Grafton street was about a 15-17 minute walk (or 2 bus stops away) Staff were lovely and accommodated our request to change rooms. I highly recommend adding the breakfast to your stay, it was delicious. Same food options every day but with so many choices, it was easy to change up what you ate. Fancy coffee machines were available in the restaurant too. My only complaint is that the pillows were hard and it would have been nice to have some softer ones too.
The room was comfortable and spotless, and the lobby offered welcome drinks. There were also several supermarkets within walking distance. The only downside was that our room was over a minute's walk from the elevator, which felt unnecessarily far.
