We have stayed at the Conrad Dublin several times over the last few years and have generally enjoyed our stays. This time, however, we decided to bring our younger children and booked two connecting rooms. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and not at the standard we have come to expect from the Conrad. 1. Rooms and value for money The two connecting rooms cost over $900 per night in total, which made the condition of the rooms particularly disappointing. They are becoming increasingly dated and are showing signs of wear and tear, particularly in the bathrooms. Even basic amenities such as the TVs feel behind the times, with no ability to connect to common streaming apps. At this price point, I would expect a more modern and better-maintained product. There are now other hotels in Dublin that are more centrally located and offer better value. 2. Front desk service The service from the front desk was average and lacked attention to detail. We were told we would receive a call when our rooms were ready, but no call came. Parking also could not be validated, resulting in an additional charge. There was also an issue with my Hilton Honors points not being credited to my account. Rather than taking ownership of the issue, we were simply told to contact Hilton directly. Individually these may seem like small issues, but together they contributed to a feeling that the service was not particularly attentive. 3. Bar service The bar service was particularly disappointing. It took more than 15 minutes for two very basic drinks to arrive. We did eventually receive them, but by that point we needed to leave for dinner and were unable to finish them. For a hotel of this standard, I would expect considerably more efficient service. 4. Breakfast Breakfast was the highlight of the stay. The quality was very good, with a good selection and a standard that was consistent with what I would expect from the Conrad. Overall It is disappointing to say this after several good stays over the years, but this visit fell short of expectations. The combination of dated rooms, inconsistent service and the overall value proposition means there are now better options in Dublin. The breakfast remains very good, but I hope the hotel invests in refreshing the rooms and improving service, as the Conrad has the potential to be one of the better hotels in Dublin.

The service was amazing, almost like nothing I had ever experienced. Good cocktails at the bar, very nice breakfast. I would stay again. Great place to stay if you have a pet. Only giving 4 stars because the TV in the room only had regular tv channels instead of being a smart TV and 80% of the channels didn’t even work. So if you want to watch something other than daytime news, bring a laptop.
The bell staff were the only nice people in this hotel. Wouldn’t recommend and not sure how this hotel is even apart of the Amex FHR. When checked in they never went over the benefits like hotel credit, upgrade if available, or late check out nor did they offer us any water like everyone else. Called prior to arrival requesting early check in if possible. When we arrive at the hotel, room wasn’t ready. No problem we did other things to kill the time while the hotel “prioritized” getting our room ready. Come 3 o’clock (normal check in time) still no room. They lied and said they were completely booked, all the while we are sitting in the lobby as they are letting other families do early check in. Was originally going to stay at the Westbury and wished I had kept the reservation. If you want an Amex FHR, this is not it. If you want friendly staff, this is not it. If you traveling with a family and need special accommodations, this is not it. Save your money and just book the Westbury.
Great location, decent rooms, poor service. Almost a whole month after my stay I am still dealing with them fraudulently double charging my credit card, then telling me they fixed it yet never actually processed the reversal and it remains unfixed. Have been waiting days for them to fix the charge. Extremely poorly handled and unresolved. For what it’s worth, used to be Diamond at Hilton but have status at Marriott as it’s a far superior chain.
First class from the first second til the last. We were so well taken care of (and even upgraded as it was an anniversary trip for us with kids in tow). Check-in was early and we were told they would call us when a room was available (and that we were upgraded). Since they knew we flew in on a long flight, they pointed us to specific restrooms to use to freshen up and held our luggage while we went to grab lunch to pass some time. The room was lovely with plenty of space, lots of windows for natural light and comfortable bedding. You really see how they earned their 5 star rating. Every staff member we interacted with, from the front desk, to the gentleman who handled our bags to the room service team bringing food- went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed, ask us how our time thus far had been, and make recommendations. What struck me as well was how quiet the hotel was for sleeping- no elevator noises, neighbors slamming doors or anything to disturb us. A lovely gesture that really meant a lot to us was that they sent up a plate with macaroons and sweets with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. Speaking of plates- the food is great too! We enjoyed the vegetarian Irish breakfast and pancakes with fresh juices, fruits and croissants! Our favorite hotel stay yet, we felt at home, truly enjoyed staying in the room as much as we did exploring Dublin, and had such kind interactions with everyone we spoke with!
