I had such a lovely experience at the Clayton Hotel, and I have to give a special mention to Paul in the lobby coffee bar. His service was absolutely amazing — he greeted us with a genuine smile every morning and always made us feel so welcome. Jessica was also lovely and provided such friendly service throughout our stay. I’d also like to mention Frank on concierge, who was incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. It’s the little things like being greeted warmly and having staff who genuinely care that make such a difference to a hotel stay. A huge thank you to Paul, Jessica and Frank for making our mornings and overall experience even better. They’re a real credit to the Clayton Hotel!

*** Absolutely shocked at hotel reply! You haven't read my review at all!! You haven't acknowledged anything I've said! *** We stayed at Clayton Hotel Burlington Road and overall had a good stay. The biggest thing holding this hotel back is quite simply maintenance. It desperately needs more attention to the upkeep of its rooms. Firstly, the staff were fantastic, particularly the ladies working in the breakfast hall. They were incredibly attentive, cleared plates regularly and made sure food was replenished quickly. Breakfast itself was also really good with a great selection. The staff doing the day-to-day work around the hotel are genuinely a credit to it. We had three rooms between our family, so we were able to get a fairly good impression of the hotel. Across the rooms, there were several things that simply needed fixing or replacing. In our bathroom, water from the tap would run around the sink and towards the edge, so I had to permanently keep a towel there to stop it. The bottom of the bathroom door was also starting to rot and our TV didn't work. Then there was the air conditioning. It seemed to switch itself off approximately every 30 minutes and even when it was supposedly running, there was virtually no difference in the temperature. It honestly felt as though it wasn't working at all. The worst issue was the carpet in one of our three rooms. I've attached a photo because it really speaks for itself. It was in an awful condition and I genuinely cannot understand how a room is allowed to be sold with a carpet looking like that. It clearly needs replacing. The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from Dublin city centre, which we found perfectly manageable. I would actually stay here again because there is a lot that the hotel gets right. The breakfast is great, the location is convenient and the staff we encountered were excellent. The problems we experienced weren't really service issues — they were maintenance and management issues. This hotel would benefit enormously from a proper maintenance overhaul and more thorough room inspections. Fix the things that are broken, replace things that have reached the end of their life and make sure every room is actually ready before a guest checks in. The staff are doing their part brilliantly; the physical condition of the rooms needs to match the standard of service they provide.
Really enjoyed my stay at Clayton Hotel Burlington Road. The location is excellent, in a quiet area but still within easy reach of Dublin city centre, which makes it a very convenient base for exploring the city. The staff were friendly, professional and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. I also really enjoyed the food. Both breakfast and the meals I had at the hotel were very good, with plenty of choice and good-quality ingredients. Overall, a very comfortable hotel with great service, a convenient location and good food. I had a very pleasant stay and would happily come back on my next visit to Dublin. Definitely recommended.
Ideally situated between the leafy, upscale neighbourhoods of Donnybrook, Ranelagh and Ballsbridge, yet just a 10-minute stroll from Grafton Street. The service is exceptional throughout—from Paul and his team in the coffee area to Saul and his crew in the breakfast room. Everyone is welcoming, professional and genuinely helpful. My four-star ‘service’ rating only concerns one issue: the hotel’s policy of not guaranteeing parking spaces for resident guests when events are being held on the property. I’ve complained many times - it’s the only aspect of an otherwise excellent experience that could be improved.
4.5 , more a five than a four: - Nice and large room, cleaned every day. - Despite 7 floors and lots of people, no issues with elevators. - Amazing gym: large, well equipped, with water dispenser, towels. - location nice, if you don’t desperately want to be in the city center - large and very comfortable bed! - good wifi. - good AC, not “overblowing” the room - drinking water in room every day On the other hand, no toilet brush (annoying:)
