It’s expensive but it’s 5-star all the way ! The service is personal and excellent, the fire show was breathtaking and the food was great! The sundowner activities were very good especially the falcon show. We stayed 1 night in the next and fresh coffee at sun open and an excellent breakfast in the desert! Every minute was good 👍

We spent Christmas here and it was the BEST experience. I can tell that even as an experience on its own it's amazing but they definitely went all out for Christmas. My family and I had an amazing time, the food was delicious. The activities were fun I wish we could have done more sand boarding, we got to ride a camel carry a falcon. The location was beautiful.

This experience exceeded all expectations. We stayed the night at the next and did the Sonara dinner and show as a family with small Children. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. Fabulous food and show and lovely thoughtful touches for the children- teddies and binoculars in the room, camel rides, sand boarding. We’ll Definitely be back

I have to start by giving a very big THANK YOU to NOMSA. I had many questions leading up to my booking (all unnecessary because they handle it ALL!!!!) I misbooked our experience and forgot to add on our private pick up. Nomsa was SO accommodating in fixing this and keeping me updated right away. When booking trips across the world, communication means everything! I really appreciated how above and beyond Nomsa went for our special evening! We had a brief confusion over our bill due to my misbooking and it was resolved within a few hours! I say this just to compliment how great the customer service was and the priority it takes at Sonara! We had an amazing time at Sonara for our sunset dinner experience! This desert experience was the biggest MUST for my Dubai trip. To start, our driver Sheraz was amazing!!! Answered so many questions we had during our drive to the camp and gave us some interesting facts on Dubai! He was so accommodating taking pictures and our drive into the desert was so fun ( per my husband LOL) just couldn’t rave enough about him! The music, the activities before, the drinks, etc were all fabulous! Everyone was SO hospitable!!! The performances left us jaw dropped! It was such a fabulous evening. I had a friend in the US recommend Sonara and if you are looking for luxe desert experience this is IT! If I had to criticize one thing it would be the food. There were dishes we liked and dishes we didn’t. Being a fixed menu, there were a handful of items we just do not eat (my husband does not like seafood) so I felt bad not loving everything. However the dishes we did like were incredible! THE STEAK! Yum!! We will be back for another Sonara experience and I look forward to recommending! Taqueer and James were beyond accommodating! Thank you for waiting on us and making our night so special. We enjoyed every interaction and considering our honeymoon! It was such a special evening for us and we enjoyed celebrating with you. This was one of the best desert experiences I’ve had—beautiful, well-organized, and surprisingly luxurious. The setup felt high-end from start to finish, with excellent food, thoughtful service, and a stunning location to watch the sunset with a cocktail. My kids were entertained the entire time—sand surfing, playing on swings, and even watching a movie in a dedicated kids’ area while the fire show and dinner were going on. They really do cater to families, which made it so much easier for me to relax and enjoy. The show was impressive, and getting to have a falcon fly through my arms was definitely a highlight. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a desert experience that balances comfort, culture, and fun for both adults and kids.

The whole experience was absolutely perfect. Everything from the moment we were picked up and taken to our sand buggy experience and then on to The Nest to check in before dinner was so well organised and every single member off staff so friendly, attentive and wonderful. We did the overnight stay with sunset and dinner experience and every bit of the trip was magical. Watching sunset with delicious appetisers and enjoying the activities around the camp was great fun. Dinner was delicious and the service was fantastic. The show was spectacular and really made it an evening to remember. Coming back to our Dune nest after dinner and finding the fire lit outside to allow us to enjoy some time sitting outside was amazing. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I cannot recommend this trip enough. Thank you to all the amazing staff who treated us so well at every part of our trip!

Although the experience is okay, nothing overly special, the customer service is non existent. If you don’t mind paying £1,000.00 for two people to have just dinner, I would advise avoiding. I had a reservation for 5 people, unfortunately 3 of our guests had to break fast with their family, to which I advised the restaurant. Although there were spare empty tables and no additional food / drink was consumed, I was still charged for 5 people. Have since spoken to their customer service team and had no resolution so far. Really really awful experience and would recommend to everyone to avoid

Sonara Camp in the Dubai desert was one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives! From the moment we arrived to the last moments under the starry sky, everything was perfectly organized. The atmosphere was magical – surrounded by golden dunes, with gentle lighting and cozy places to rest. The program was full of adventures – we rode camels, enjoyed breathtaking views at sunset etc. The food was a real gourmet experience – incredible flavors and perfectly prepared dishes. And the show was unforgettable – with firecracker dances, traditional music and artistic performances that transported us to the magic of Arabian culture. Sonara Camp is not just a dinner in the desert – it is an adventure that remains forever in the heart. I recommend it to anyone who wants to feel the magic of Dubai in an exceptional way! 6 of us went to Sonara Camp We started with the canapés and drinks which were all good and prompt service. We did the camel ride, watched the falcon , sunset pictures etc. All included We then went down for the dinner and show. We thought it might be a bit naff but was actually really well done and made the evening.

This was our first desert experience with our 3 kids so we have nothing to compare it to but I think they are offering a unique setting. We initially booked the sunset experience however once we got there we realised the time would go so quick and it didn’t seem like enough to appreciate the setting. Service is very good and attentive. Lots of things for kids to do so they won’t get bored. The shows during dinner are good especially the last fire show. It’s a shame but we were not offered any henna and I didn’t see anyone offering this even though this is normally offered to guests. The photographer is really good and professional. Good appetisers and canapés. Kids buffet offers a good selection however the adult food is a bit of a random mix but the desert was great. The biggest downside is the cost it’s very expensive once they add all the service charges and taxes we paid nearly £700 for 2 adults and 2 kids!!

We had a brilliant afternoon with our driver Mohamed Natheer who was very prompt collecting us from our hotel and whisking us into the desert. We took the dune buggy option which we all enjoyed, then went dune bashing with Mohamed, which was also good. Some great photos were taken too. Once at Sonora Camp we were very impressed with the setup and things to do - all included - camel ride, sand boarding, archery etc. and very comfortable seating to watch the sun go down. We were led to the eating area, which is beautiful. The food was very good, although a slightly unusual combination. The service was excellent and the entertainment entertaining. My only criticism which loses a point is that there is a lot of use of paraffin, both for lamps to guide you to the dinner area, and for the entertainment, in particular the fire section. The fumes from this hang in the air and dominate the taste of the food. As such I couldn’t enjoy the desert having to cover my mouth. The organisers should consider this. Overall a great experience which I would recommend.

I booked a sunset desert trip with Sonara as a family and we were looking forward to it after all the reviews however please be aware of the risks associated before booking with this company. Unfortunately I cut my ankle open on one of the activities offered (sandboarding) as I went down the sand slope on the sand board which I was sat on. My fall was due to the debris which was on the path as I went down the hill. The path had not been cleared and I informed the gentleman at the top of the hill that was manning it and was responsible and he did not seem bothered to do anything about it however as there were many people at the top waiting to come down including children I cleared the path for them of all the debris and rubbish which contributed to my cut. Unfortunately I was bleeding heavily and looked everywhere to find someone to help me as all I could see were waiters and hosts. I had to go to to the main entrance where I luckily found a first aider that could help. I was unable to do any of the activities after this because of what had happened and was surprised that although the staff were aware of this they did not offer me any type of refund or even a drink, nor did they check up on me after the event, after all it was their fault that I fell and cut myself as the path was not clear. Not wanting to spoil the rest of the evening for my family I decided to take it up with Sonara on my return home to which the reply was quite frankly rude and without any care or ownership. Even after providing photos of the path and my ankle they termed my injury as 'small' and like scratches and that it was unforeseen and beyond their control and responsibility! They also said that "unfortunately the area can become littered every now and again" and everything is covered in their terms & conditions (in the small print). I'm sorry but if you're going to offer an activity you make sure it's safe beforehand and when someone brings it to your attention you don't ignore them and not check it, I didn't even get a thank you for making your area safe for others! Therefore please be aware that if you use this company and fall from either a sandboard, a camel, get injured by a falcon, a bow and arrow or from any of the other activities on offer you are stuck in the desert (in the middle of nowhere) and it's your own responsibility regardless of who's at fault......

When you are in Dubai Area Sonara is a MUST! The Sunset Experience is breathtaking. The scenery perfectly arranged with everything you can imagine to make an arabian dream come true. The dinner experience hit everything I have ever seen. Also perfectly arranged with a show you will never forget! The performers, the music and arrangement are leaving you breathless. But it is not just that. The food is very good and they serve a variety of different typical arabian dishes. The staff is very friendly, starting from the pick-up service and ending with the waiters. They have a short chat with you and explain everything. I‘m not writing recommendations here on tripadvisor generally, but this experience is worth to leave a note. If you want to have the best evening of your life you need to book Sonara!

I’ve done several desert tours in Dubai, but the quality at Sonara is definitely far superior. The sunset left me in awe, the bathrooms were immaculate and beautiful, the food was delicious, and the shows were amazing. I would come back again and again! Thank you, Sonara, for giving me this incredible experience with my family!

Our experience with Sonara was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The entire day was filled with fantastic activities, delicious food, and unforgettable entertainment. He was incredibly professional, always attentive to our needs, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. His knowledge of Dubai and the desert was impressive, and he shared so much interesting information throughout the day. We felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. The food was exquisite—every dish was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was beautiful. The entertainment in the desert camp was equally impressive, adding a magical touch to the whole evening. I highly recommend this experience with Sonara, and if you’re lucky enough to have Atiq as your driver, you’re in for an amazing day!

We slept in tents. Very nice with all the comforts. Very positive dinner, varied and of high quality. It's a shame about the deafening music that completely ruined the dinner and the venue. Negative feedback also applies to the highly advertised activities. They are not up to the standards of the place. The price paid is excessive for the services offered.

Wow this was so cool..! Absolutely a magical experience, really beyond expectations! From start to finish everything perfectly and in detail arranged. Really a professional organization. My little brother has a nut allergy and every employee was aware of it. All staff were also mega friendly and quite service oriented. The food was great the show was great! Overall an Absolute must! We will definitely be back. Thank you for the fantastic evening.

We stayed with our daughter (10) at the camp. The transfer went smoothly. The location a dream, eating a 10/10 and the program too. Everything was incl. except Alcoholic drinks. Children also get their money's worth. Sandboarding, campfire , cinema with popcorn , hawk show, camel rides, swings in the desert & & &... it was breathtaking and the staff were incredibly friendly and very attentive. Slacks are quite enough,(I was initially unsure about that). Anyone who wants to can purchase a portfolio of pictures from the photographers there for 150€ . It was also worth it. He absolutely flashed us, this location is just magical and conjures you up for four hours in a wonderful world of 1000 and one night.

Breathtaking place ✨ In a beautiful nature reserve intimate camp from the welcome pot to dinner we have our little place just our own. Arrival at sunset scenery and one as far as the eye can see Free activities on site (archery, swing, camel ride , surfing in the dunes, photos with hawks ...) Arrival in the evening we descend for dinner with show all evening ( dancers, fire-breather , magician ....) The dishes are just delicious 😋 I recommend it with your eyes closed as a couple with family or friends this is the safari N•1 to do in Dubai ❤️

We were picked up by our driver Mohamed Natheer at the hotel. On the way to the desert Mohamed told us a lot about Dubai and the desert and then we started to sand bushing. During a stop Mohamed took super great photos of us. On the way to the camp we could see different desert animals. Once at the camp there was a delicious aperitif, amn could go camel riding, sandboarding, take photos with a falcon and enjoy the sunset. Then we changed places where we were served dinner. The food was varied, fresh and very delicious. The show we enjoyed for dinner we really liked. It was a wonderful trip and we enjoyed it from the beginning to the end - we will definitely come back!
