Small-group Tour: Falcon 2—dubai Falconry Safari

Khan our driver and birds of prey trainer was fantastic, he and his partner made us a part of the air show with their falcons, eagles, and a very cool owl. He also took us to see the training of racing camels. After the airshow we were treated with a gourmet breakfast this was a perfect morning.

This was one of the best experiences I had while visiting Dubai and I highly recommend it. Located at a nature preserve outside the city, you will stop at a camel race track and see the camels being exercised in the cool morning air. There is also a breeding center and camel hospital nearby. Continuing on to the nature preserve you will pause to deflate the tires for better traction before moving on, watching the sunrise, with brief pauses for pictures and wildlife sightings. The driver was very accommodating if I wanted to stop and also made recommendations such as climbing to the top of a sand dune for great sunrise pictures. When you arrive to where the birds are there will be a rug and pillows for your comfort along with tea, water, and dates. You will then be introduced to the birds. Note: The actual birds that will be there can vary. I had five birds including a gyrfalcon, eagle, Harris hawk, and two owls, each with its own unique personality. It was amazing. One-by-one we flew all of the birds and you will have plenty of time with each one on your arm, including takeoffs and landings. Some birds do not like being touched and you will be instructed which ones you can touch and which ones you can’t. The falconers were excellent! Providing information about each bird, the significance of the birds to the culture, care of the birds, etc…. It was a great education and I can’t speak highly enough of them. They also had a lot of experience with getting the best pictures and videos so you should have an amazing record of your trip. My driver/ falconer was named Khan and he was fantastic. All good things come to an end and eventually we packed up and headed back. I had many questions and all of them were answered fully and I may have dozed off once or twice but I arrived back at the hotel and spent the next couple of hours enjoying the pictures and videos. I posted a few on my socials and they absolutely blew up. It was crazy. Again, I highly recommend this tour. You will have memories to last a lifetime.

Khan & Rahim were amazing. Couldn’t have asked for better. We were the only couple so it was great. 5 to 10am for us. Desert sunrise, animals, The birds are truly awesome. Learn all you can about them & ask every question. Worth every penny.

We spent the day learning about the history of falconry and about the different types of raptors that live here. We were able to handle each bird we met and watch them fly and take treats from our hands. It was an absolutely incredible experience and we made some great memories that we'll never forget. THIS small group Falconry Safari with Royal Shaheen Events is a MUST-DO while in Dubai. The most excellent guide and trainer Mr. Khan will take you into the desert and provide lasting and treasured memories of these beautiful birds. This was the absolute highlight of our Dubai week. The four people in our group had the most amazing time in the desert with Mr. Khan and his Peregrine Falcon, Desert Eagle Owl, Barn Owl, Harris Hawk and the majestic Lesser Spotted Eagle. The eagle flew between us, through our linked arms and all around and about. The birds are extremely well trained and simply beautiful to look at and have them feed from your fingers. A wonderful day out.

Khan our falconer was just amazing!! He was so informative even on the way to our falconry experience We didn’t expect to stop at the Camel race track on the way out to the desert and seeing the camels train and do laps of the track It was fantastic! We learnt so much about the racing Was so interesting Brilliant! Khan and Muhammad were awesome guides. From pickup point to breakfast and drop off, they not only taught us about the falcons but about Dubai in general. Interacting with the birds was awesome and they do a great job of capturing the experience. Highly recommend this unique opportunity?

Our pick was early, always a good start. Great transport and friendly guide, Khan, who stopped off first at the camel racing circuit. We have never seen so many camels in one place, all waiting for their early exercise. A quick view of the track, start and finish line and then off to the hawks. There were only four in our group and we got to experience 6 different birds, peregrine, Harris hawk, eagle and owls. We got to have them on the glove and they flew to us to eat. A really up close and personal experience, Khan was excellent throughout supported by Mubarak. Thank you for the experience.

What an amazing experience like no other. Not only to see the birds (who were of course, the stars of the show!) But also to see, experience and learn so many other things n addition to this. The early start was so worth it and lovely to start out before sunrise and still feel the cool of the desert before the sun comes up. Mohammed (or “Hammy”) our guide was amazing. A lovely, polite, friendly and very knowledgable man with a great sense of humour, whose enthusiasm for falconry was infectious. He stopped for us to see the (very calm and quiet) camels while they were getting ready to race, then we listened to a very beautiful and enigmatic call to prayer. The Mosque was very close to the track and we stopped whilst he went (briefly) into the mosque to pray. It was fantastic to see another religion and culture and how their practice works in day to day living. We saw oryx, gazelles and a plethora of hot air balloons 😀 along the way to a lovely little desert oasis where the birds of prey were waiting. It was very cold (take a jacket) and walking with the freezing cold sand running through our open toe shoes definitely woke us up ! Then lovely Arabic coffee and dates sitting on Killeems/Arabic rug was wonderful. The two other men who were helping were also lovely and it was very moving to see how much they all loved and respected the birds. When we got to feed, handle and fly these beautiful creatures Mohammed (plus colleagues) explained very calmly and clearly exactly what we needed to do. We learnt so much information about each of the birds (two different types of owl, a geo falcon, harris hawk and desert eagle) and how they differ in habits, learning and “personality”. We got plenty of time to handle them and also to do some very clever tricks, such as flying through our arms outstretch above our heads. The whole experience was the best thing we did whilst in Dubai. There are many fantastic experiences you can have here, but to us, The Burj Kalifha, Dubai Mall and all the other things pale into comparison with this excursion. And a really big thank you to Mohammed. You are “simply the best” .

We stayed one week in Dubai and this was the best part of our trip. With Amin and Muhammad we had the best tour guides and falconry pros you can get. So many informations. So friendly. And being so near to these wonderful birds was outstanding. We took a lot of wonderful memories and pictures with us and will never forget this morning in the desert.

This private tour was among the top 10 experiences of my entire life. Mohammed and his team were absolutely amazing professionals. Communication was outstanding. Hotel pickup was right on time. They had coffee and dates set out on a beautiful carpet in the desert reserve when I arrived. They explained everything about the 5 different birds of prey to me. I had the opportunity to fly, feed, pet and pose with each of the 5 birds all while they took professional quality photos and videos for me with my phone. This was simply the BEST. Thank you so much. We had an amazing experience! Professional falconer Khan and his associate Rahim really provided us with memories to last a lifetime. First and quite unexpectantly before day break he took us to see camels resting before exercising for a camel race. We got to see and hold the robot jockey, learn about the racing, and actually see them “up close and personal” as they ran the track. He then took us to the desert where after sunrise, we learned about the falcons and owls, got to hold the lure and food, and experience with awe and wonder the agility and speed of these birds. Additionally, Khan and his friend Rahim took a multitude of photos and videos with our iPhones. At first we were apprehensive, but after seeing the excellent-quality images reminding us of our falconry safari, we were grateful. This is not an inexpensive activity, but to us it was worth every AED. There are a number of tour companies that provide a falcon experience. We can't speak to the others, but Royal Shaheen was excellent and super easy to communicate with whether about content, scheduling, or payment.

My husband and I did the Falcon Safari in October 2022 and it was outstanding. We were picked up at 5.00 am by our Driver/Guide and driven out to the Desert stopping at the Camel Racetrack to see the Camel Trainers waiting with their camels to do their track work (thousands of camels!) before watching the sunrise over the sand dunes. We then had a marvellous experience with 5 birds - an Eagle, a Falcon, a Hawk and two gorgeous owls. We were given information on how the birds are looked after, trained and had the most incredible experience of handling the birds. The birds were treated with a great deal of respect and care and the genuine love of our guide (Khan and his assistance) were clearly demonstrated. This is not the cheapest activity you can do in Dubai but was worth the money to get a feel of Arabian culture and history and to see these magnificent animals. Highly, highly recommended.

This was an incredible experience ! Loads of hands on experience, the falcons & owl’s & especially the eagle we’re spectacular ! The trainers were very informative & we learnt a lot ! They were also amazing photographers & took some wonderful photos for us !

This is a fantastic experience for any traveller visiting Dubai, and as a longtime resident I especially appreciated findiing such a fresh and unique activity. We were picked up from our accommodation by Sarab at 06:00 and reached the Reservation in time for sunrise -- a truly majestic view, with sights of oryx and gazelles visible on the horizon. Sarab was immensely personable, very knowledgeable about falconry and the local wildlife. On arrival, we were treated to traditional Arabic coffee served with dates, before Sarab and his colleague Mohammad began the show -- including a falcon, a Harris Hawk, a barn owl, an eagle owl, and a Greater spotted eagle. We then learned how to call and fly them ourselves. This was marvellous and we both quickly felt comfortable with the birds. Plus, Sarab very kindly acted as our personal photographer, snapping large numbers of photos and videos for each of us to capture the best light and the best moments. This was a truly fantastic experience for my partner and I, who had the trip entirely to ourselves! I would 100% recommend this to anyone wanting a slightly different experience in Dubai.

The reviews don't lie, this is a world-leading experience - one of the best we've had anywhere, in any country. We decided to book a tour direct with Royal Shaheen because we have a three year old and other tour operators we researched had too many 'other add-ons' to their desert tours that didn't suit a three year old (such as dune bashing, camel rides, etc.). We are SO pleased we did! We were picked up from our hotel early in the morning with two birds in the car - not in cages either, simply sitting, one eagle (Khyber) in the back space, another small mixed breed (Gyrm) sitting on the top of the handbreak box. Our kids were delighted with the up close experience (as were we). There were more birds in the desert waiting when we arrived, five in total including an owl, peregrine and a hawk. We didn't book a private tour but got one. We passed other tour operators on the way out to the desert who were all full to the brim... 20+ participants. Ours was just the four of us and two handlers. I would highly recommend the experience to anyone for the up close and personal interactions with multiple birds, exposure and one-on-one conversation with experienced handlers, and thoughtfulness of design of the overall experience: it takes just the right amount of time, happens in outstanding natural beauty and without another person to be seen.

My hubby and I had the BEST experience in Dubai, an absolute amazing experience. From the first communication right through to a follow up email, this company is nothing but professional. To start our falconer Cesar on time picked us up at the hotel in a beauthiful Jeep with a surprise in the back to met us. Khaimah, a magnificent eagle sitting on his perch, just so gorgeous and peaceful. What a nice touch. We spent such an amazing time in the desert with Cesar and his friend Rahim, both passionate Falconers, full of amazing information not only on the birds but life in Dubai. We had Arabic coffee and dates while they got the birds ready on a beautiful carpet in the middle of the desert!! It was great only hubby and I which enhanced our visit. You can see how much they care for their birds. To watch, listen and learn, then to do it ourselves, a once in a lifetime opportunity. The birds are majestic. We had 2 falcons, an eagle, hawk and owl Rahim was gracious to take a large number of photos for us, he is the professional falconer/photographer. Thank you so much!! This was THE BEST experience we had and can not recommend highly enough. To top off the best morning we then had the best breakfast at the desert oasis Al Maha desert resort and spa. If we had of known of this place we would have definitely spent a couple of nights there. Breakfast was delicious, what ever you wanted. What a way to top of our morning. This was an amazing experience out in the desert. From the pickup at the hotel to the drop off I was just a big smile, these birds are amazing. So cool and calm and all with their own personality. Dylan was our guide for the day, he was full of information about both the birds and the other animals in the desert. We learned a lot from him. Customer service was excellent from the first email with questions to the thank you mail from the company. Next time in Dubai I will be back out in the desert with these amazing birds and guides. We were up early at 5am. We were picked up at our hotel on The Palm by Cesar. He was aware from the outset. In the jeep to take us to our destination was kaimah the eagle to take the 1hr 20min journey to our desert oasis. During the trip césar taught us a lot about Dubai history in regards to the Falcons and other birds of prey. When we arrived. We were the only ones there and enjoyed some amazing Arabic coffee and dates with Waheem before learning about each of the birds and watching them before flying them ourselves. What an incredible experience. César especially and Rahim made the experience exceptional absolutely one of our life experiences we will not forget. We will definitely do again when we come back with our daughters. Breakfast at Al Maha Desert resort topped off what was an already amazing experience.

My wife and I had a fantastic time. Cesar who took care of us simply made the whole experience so much more enriching and educational. He set the high standards for quality service and customer care. Just let me say that this trip was worth every cent! My husband and I booked the Royal Shaheen Dubai Falconry Safari before we left the states. Seemed like a unique experience. It started early....5am. We were picked up promptly by Dylan, our falconer. We were the group! In the Jeep were two birds taking a snooze. A greater spotted eagle, Khaimah, and a Gyr Merlin Falcon named Gyrm. On our way to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve we made a brief stop and photo opp to see the camel racing area. Many awkwardly beautiful camels were being trained for racing. We then left for the desert and arrived precisely as the sun was coming up. We had coffee and dates while seated comfortably on a rug and pillow and Dylan described the training process and introduced us to his team of birds: Cherokee and Ghost the Peregrine Flacons; Tom, a Harris Hawk; and Penny, a Desert Eagle Owl, and of course in our two travel mates. We proceeded to watch as Dylan trained the juvenile falcon. My husband and I then participated in having the birds fly to us, each species demonstrating a different hunting style.....speed, agility, stealth, and strength. We completed our glorious day with a wonderful breakfast at the Al Maha Hotel On our way home we stopped at the Falcon Heritage Center and Museum and the falcon souk, a one stop shopping for falconers......including the birds. What a day. This is a must do activity. A special thanks to Dylan and his assistant Rahim (our able photographer) for a wonderful day.

Worth every penny, this trip is well worth it and would recommend it to anyone interested in birds of prey.We where picked up from the hotel by Dylan and khaimah the greater spotted eagle, and taken out to the desert where we seen the sunrise over the mountains. After these we got to interact with the birds. Are favourite was Penny the desert eagle owl.

My wife and I did the dfs tour on Friday morning. Cesar picked us up at 5am and on our drive to Dubai desert conservation reserve explained in detail what to expect from the experience and everything we need to know about the various birds of prey species we would get to meet and fly on the day. It was very interesting to get to know all the facts about the birds and the ways they differ amongst each other from flying techniques to hunting methods. It made the experience even better knowing all the facts beforehand. Now, meeting and flying the birds was something else. I myself am a big fan of eagles so getting to fly Khaimah and take loads of pictures and videos is experience I will never forget. We both enjoyed seeing Jane and Rage/ the falcons, hunt the lure,fying khalessi the owl and Winchester the hawk. It was amazing when Cesar demonstrated to us how hawks can fly in between tight spaces by getting my wife and I to stand closer and closer together as Winchester flew in between us to Cesar. Overall I feel this is an adventure everyone who lives in and who is visiting Dubai should experience..and with Cesar as a guide! We would recommend it to everyone who loves nature and animals and wants to learn some cool facts. Cesar and Ibrahim were both great and very knowledgeable and positive during the whole tour. Once we were done with the birds Cesar drove us around the Reserve to show us various animals and explained facts about them to add on top of already a great day! Thank you for a great experience!

I am at a loss of words when it comes to describing this amazing experience. Falconry is an extremely important part of the history of the Middle East. The staff at Royal Shaheen, in keeping with the traditions of the Arabs, was extremely hospitable and went out if its way to provide an experience in the desert that will never be forgotten. In addition to learning about the history of falconry in the Middle East, one also gets to fly several species of birds under the watchful eye of their amazing trainers. Cesar, the trainer who picked us up from the hotel and who helped us in handling of the raptors, provided a very enjoyable atmosphere and was good company throughout the duration of the Safari. I have nothing but good things to say about this trip, and I would recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to experience such a wonderful part of the Emirati culture. A 10/10 experience for me.

Cesar picked my wife and i up at our hotel.we choose the afternoon trip starting at 3.30pm.on the way to the desert cesar stopped at the camel racing track which was very intresting.when we got to the desert rahim was there with the birds.we had coffee and dates sat in the shade.we both flew 4 birds an eagle,falcon,hawk and a desert barn owl.it was fantastic cesar explained everything about falconry and made everything so we could understand we both learnt a lot that day.thanks to cesar and rahim.who we would like to thank for the best trip we have been on.on the wayout of the desert we saw wildlife.then cesar dropped us back at the hotel.i would give this trip 10out of 10 thankyou

Leant a great deal about birds and wildlife from Cesar and Rahim, who’s love of birds and the environment really shone through. Handling the birds was a fantastic experience. Delicious breakfast and all round truly memorable experience. Love it.

From the hotel pickup this was a truely amazing trip. Khaimah,the greater spotted eagle was sitting on his perch in the boot of the air conditioned 4x4. This alone was brilliant. We travelled to the nature reserve, with a stop off at the Camel training ground to catch a glimpse of the camels training as the dawn broke. We arrived at the nature reserve to meet Khan who had brought along peregrine falcons, a harris hawk, and the beautiful owl Khaleesi. The care and dedication these guys have for these birds is unique. It's hot this time of year, and the care and consideration they have for them was truly lovely, keeping the air conditioning on, so they didn't over heat. Jane the peregrine falcon decided flying in the blustery wind was far more interesting than returning for breakfast, which meant Cesar launched his backup drone to help make the lure more exciting. Flying the birds was a fantastic experience. The setting,the informative Cesar and Khan. We gave Khan our phones and what a great job he did. Slow motion videos, he knows the best angles and best shots. He even shot one video to music, which was such a wonderful surprise when we returned to our hotel. If you do one trip to the desert, do this one, we will never forget this experience. We opted for the luxury breakfast. It was worth every penny to conclude a once in a lifetime experience.

On our recent visit to Dubai, my husband and I went on the Dubai Falconry Safari. After reading the reviews at home while planning our holiday, I decided that this was an absolute must do on our trip. Cesar picked us up early in the morning and drove us to the reserve with Khaimah, a male Greater Spotted Eagle travelling in the car with us. Cesar was absolutely amazing! Knowledgeable and informative, he even stopped at the Al Marmoom Camel Track on the way so we could see the camels training. When we arrived at the reserve at sunrise we were driven through pristine dunes to the campsite where Ameen was waiting with coffee, dates and the rest of the birds. Our experience started with Chinook (Grey Peregrine Falcon), Jane (Red Naped Peregrine Falcon), Winchester (Harris Hawk), Khaleesi (Desert Eagle Owl) and finally Khaimah. Amazing and breathtaking!! I must say Ameen took amazing photos and videos on my phone for me. Cesar and Ameen were wonderful and hospitable and the whole experience was about the birds and their welfare. As we were ther during Ramadan, the Falcon Souk was quiet so Cesar instead drove us through the desert so we could see the abundant wildlife. Again his knowlege was amazing! This is an experience I highly recommend if you wish to see the real Dubai.

We read a lot of the reviews before going and our experience was exactly the same, absolutely breathtaking and not to be missed! Cesar and Waseem were fantastic, we had so many questions and Cesar has expert knowledge on all things relevant to the experience plus plenty more and an absolute gentleman to boot. We should also mention Waseem is a very keen photographer using our phones, also shooting some incredible slo-mo video of these magnificent creatures up close and personal to us. We learnt so much about the 5 different birds we interacted with as well as truckloads of desert, wildlife and local general knowledge. We were extremely well looked after and felt that nothing would be too much trouble. We highly recommend it and would do it again in a heartbeat. Five stars all the way from us!

We were visiting Dubai for a brief period en route to a longer stay in Abu Dhabi. As a family group of mixed ages (teen, 30s, 50s), it was a difficult task to find activities that appealed to us all. We agreed after our time in UAE that this is probably the best excursion any of us have done, anywhere in the world. Cesar and Rahim were a fantastic combination - courtesy, grace, knowledge, skill, patience, enthusiasm and they happily spent their morning ensuring that we enjoyed our time with each of the birds. If you only have limited time, forget about the malls, architecture and other tourist traps. Do this.

We started the safari early in the morning, when César came to pick us up with a Jeep. We were positively surprised when we learned that we would make the trip with a falcon, Khaimah. We drove to the desert where Rahim was waiting us with coffee and more birds. We got to know five different birds of prey and how each of them hunt. There was also a lot of possibilities to take photos with birds and also when the birds demonstrated their flying abilities. The whole trip was very well organized. And in addition to information about birds, Cesar told as a lot about wildlife in the desert and other related subjects. Rahim took excellent photos of us and the whole trip was very pleasant and César and Rahim had plenty of time for us and we felt very welcomed! This was definitely the best experience we had during our Dubai holiday!

We had the good fortune to experience the Falconry Safari with Royal Shaheen. Hendrik and Cesar were our guides for the day. We booked a small-group tour, but fortunately our family of 5 (three teenagers) was the sole booking for the day. We were collected at 5:15 and we headed for the desert. Along for the ride were Chinook (a gyr/peregrine hybrid) and Jane (peregrine). Along the way, both of our guides were able to point out very areas of interest. Although neither is a native of Dubai, both were well-versed in the area and its history. We stopped for a few photos at a large camel training area. There were literally hundreds of camels walking around or being fitted with saddles to begin their training as racers. So interesting. Upon arriving in the conservation area, we stopped to depressurize the tires and take a few pictures. Very few (I think 5) tour companies can access this large area. This alone is nearly worth the price of admission. Unlike other areas of the desert, which might be junked up with debris like plastic bottles and discarded lawn chairs, this area was pristine. There weren't tracks over every dune. It was beautiful. The early morning fog added to the esthetic. We arrived at our destination to find that Rahim had set up a nice blanket where dates and beverages were served. They began to educate us and display the birds they had brought that day. We saw and flew a Peregrine, a Gyr/Peregrine hybrid, a Greater Spotted Eagle, a Harris Hawk and a Desert Eagle Owl. Each was so interesting. We learned about their diet, their anatomy and their hunting style. We learned about how they were trained traditionally and how modern inventions like drones have helped with training. Having these majestic birds fly to you from a distance and alight gently on your arm was truly breathtaking. My kids loved it and learned so much. Thereafter, they gave us an option of a more extensive drive through the desert or a trip to the falcon souq. They stated that at this time of year, there wasn't much to see at the falcon souq, so we trusted their guidance and took the extended drive. We are so glad we did. We saw probably 100 orix, about the same number of Arabian gazelles and a half dozen or so sand gazelles, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery and conversation with your guides. Since there were 5 of us, we were split into two cars. We felt so safe and really enjoyed their conversation on our way back to our hotel. Was it pricey? Sure. But was it worth it, considering we paid for two guides, an assistant and the unique ability to fly so many different birds? There is no question!!! We would do it again in a heartbeat. Please book with Royal Shaheen. You won't be disappointed.

It's not easy getting up at the crack of dawn whilst on holiday but was well worth the experience. Rebecca and Khaimah (the greater spotted eagle) met us at the hotel and off we went into the desert. The interaction with the birds was fantastic. Very professional and enjoyable. We have some fantastic memories with the photos we took. Thank you.

Everything was organised perfect! Picking up at the Hotel with Khaimah, drive to the desert with a Jeep, Information from César, short stop at the camel race track, Falconry Show and interaction with the birds by ourselfs! César was an outstanding host and we enjoyed the whole tour and will keep a lot of memories in our mind about this unforgettable journey. The Royal Shaheen Falconry Team was wonderful! We interacted with 5 different birds and learned alot about how the birds are trained. The whole environment of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, a Beautiful Sunrise, and the Breakfast at the Al Maha Resort Hotel was top notch! The additional stop at the Falcon Museum was very educational as well. This is a "must do" if you visit Dubai!!

I sincerely recommend this Safari, everything was just perfect, the Organisation, the Guide Rebecca, Rahim the falkener both of them could answer every question and they were just amazing with the birds. We were alone on this trip thus had the pleasure to have a perfect overview of the work with the birds, and made a lot of pictures. Of course we could also hold the birds, which was a once in a lifetime experience. It was worth getting up very early and also pay a little bit more. Congratulations to this really extraordinary team of Royal Shaheen who made our day the perfect one.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary doing this tour & wow what a great memory we now have, .Bryan & Rahim were so friendly, professional & informative. From pickup to the amazing Breakfast at Al Mahara Resort, to meeting & interacting with all of Bryans birds to Rahims very tasty Gawha & the video he took for us in slow motion.We even got to see the sun rise in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the most beautiful desert we have ever seen. We were picked up at our hotel right on time at 5:45 by Bryan and Rebecca, took more than an hour to get to the Dubai Desert Conservative Reserve where the training took place, Bryan, the trainer and his assistant Rahim got the whole program right down to the very detail, Bryan was very knowledgeable in his trade, Rahim doubled as our photographer, took some unbelievable pictures for us, training involved 5 birds plus one Commom kestrel accompanying us during transport, Bryan was excellent throughout the demonstration and training, making us comfortable and confidence in handling the birds, it’s so incredible to have a 1+ kg falcon land on your hand just like you see in youtube. This is a once in a lifetime experience for us and would recommend this event to anyone in all ages. Bryan, Rahim and Rebecca, Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

I booked this #royalshaheen safari (falconry) for myself and the two friends I was visiting in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi area. We were picked up early in the morning and driven out to the site. We watched the sunrise over the desert in the wild and then spent an amazing few hours learning about, handling and photographing falcons, an eagle and a desert owl. It was INCREDIBLE. Our guides, the charming and witty Bryan and esteemed Rahim, were so knowledgeable and gracious and fun! The birds were beautiful, powerful and a wonder to experience. This was my favorite day IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Don't miss this, you will never have such a fun and exciting time anywhere else!

My wife and I love the desert but the average Dubai desert safari seemed much to loud, to touristy, to macho. Then we found Royal Shaheen and were convinced. We booked the shared safari (with a maximum of 8 guests, as we were told) but had the incredible luck to have it all for our selves. Our falconers wer Cesar and Rahim. Both were very polite, friendly and helpfull. Cesar was a great wealth of Information on falconeering in UAE. We couldn`t have had better hosts. The atmosphere was great. Sunrise in the morning, the fresh air, the red dunes, some oryx at the roadside and a lovely camp in a hilly area with some trees. What an experience to come close to the birds, to see them been trained in both historical und modern way . And what an intense experience to let them fly to /fly away from your raised lower arm ! On the way back to the city we stopped at the falcon souk. We expected a ramshackle group of buildings but were surprised to find a modern (but small) shopping mall for everything on raptors. Very interesting, don`t miss it! I can say that this trip with Cesar and Royal Sharheen was among the best nature trips we ever had worldwide. And we have done quite a bit. Highly recommended !

It was an absolute pleasure to be hosted by Esmerie. She was informative and passionate about her work and lovingly introduced us to the birds. We also enjoyed meeting her colleague Rahim, who too was an excellent host. The birds were amazing and it was a very personal experience. We absolutely recommend this tour for anyone interested in wildlife and conservation and getting close to these wonderful birds. Full marks for animal husbandry.

To get up so early was it really worth 😊 Our falconer Esmerie told us a lot about this extraordinary birds. Also the surrounding where we let flew the birds was great. But the highlight was to let the birds flew by our own - fantastic really, unforgettable experiences I would never miss. When you prefer to have such an individual trip and not in a big group than I highly recommend this tour.

Perfect. We loved the information given, the performance displayed and having the possibility to hold a falcon, a hawk, a owl and a eagle. It was wonderful and I would love to do it again. We did the private event. So we did not share the birds or the event with any other guests. So we had the display, the guide and all the birds just for us. The kids loved it very much.

What an amazing experience not only for my husband and I, but for our 7 & 9 year old. When the kids went back to school, this was one of the experiences they repeatedly spoke about! Our guide gave us a lot of information and very friendly. Highly recommend (not just for adults).
